After my college class tonight (yay, grad school) I will post all the works that were created for the Mini-Fest. I also decided to leave the AO3 collection open after today - I know I did not get nearly as far as I had hoped, and I imagine I’m not alone in that feeling. James had never paid much attention to the quiet young man - thinking of him as no more than the little brother of his best friend - but as he watched him let loose on the dancefloor, he started seeing him in a new light.

James wasn’t sure what to think when Sirius showed up at the club with his brother in tow. They were supposed to spend the night drinking and dancing the night away to celebrate the end of another year. But James doubted the quiet, sulky teenager - who was provided with another one of Sirius’ fake IDs - would be able to keep up with them. He was fully expecting him to leave after a drink or two, deciding he’d rather be home by himself instead.

But the teen - who can’t have said more than two words to James in all the years he has known him - loosened up after the first round of drinks, and he was the first to disappear onto the dancefloor.

James had never paid much attention to the quiet young man - thinking of him as no more than the little brother of his best friend - but as he watched him let loose on the dancefloor, he started seeing him in a new light.

Regulus had come in wearing a long-sleeved, loose black shirt, but somewhere during the night he must have gotten rid of it, because when Sirius makes his way over to the bar, he finds him standing there, chugging down another drink - his white t-shirt clinging to his body.

James quickly downs the shot that Regulus offers him, flashing a smile as a thank you, before turning to find a guy to dance and maybe make out with to keep his thoughts from Sirius’ little brother. But Regulus grabs his hand, and he drags him onto the dancefloor, a mischievous grin on his face that makes James wonder if he knows the effect he is having on him right now.

James tries his best to keep his hands to himself, but it’s like his body has a mind of its own, and when Regulus closes the distance between them, his hands quickly find his waist. The sheer thrill of feeling him enough to make James want to grab him and drag him into the bathrooms. The knowing just how off-limits his best friend’s little brother is and how forbidden the thoughts and feelings he is having right now only adding to the thrill.

Regulus grinds their hips together, making James moan softly into his shoulder - the loud music drowning out the sound. But he knows that Sirius is out here somewhere, so as much as it pains him, he makes sure to create a distance between them again, flashing an apologetic smile.

“What’s wrong?” Regulus asks, “I thought…”

“Your brother is going to kill me,” James sighs, but it doesn’t make him move away - as he knows he should. It only makes him want Regulus more, and it takes all of his strength not to reach out and touch him right now.

“Why?” Regulus grins, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he closes the distance between them again - his warm breath giving James chills all over as he teases into his ear, “We’re only dancing.”

@ziggystardustminifest Day 8! For Lostinthenightrain - Happy Birthday!

This fic started with a general vibe of an idea and then took an unexpected turn. The best I can say is that it is very loosely based on the song prompt. Lol. If you squint, then you can see the influences.

I only wanted to write a less than 1k drabble for all of these. This one got away from me a bit and I’d kinda like to know what is happening in the creepy forest, but I have my doubts that I will ever write it. If you feel moved to write that story, then please feel free to do so and tag me!

This is the first Druna I’ve ever written and I really liked it. My goal is to finish the rest of my Ziggy gift drabbles eventually.

This is the first NottPott I’ve ever written and I kind of dig the pairing. Might have to write more of them in the future. This is a gift for @roseharpermaxwell for just being an awesome friend.

People can be heard arguing in the next room - the pressure and threat of what is about to come now truly starting to get to everyone. Bill can tell that Remus is struggling to shut himself off from the raised voices, so he pulls him into the shadows and he wraps his arms around his waist.

“What are you doing?” Remus whispers. He remembers all the nights he had lain awake, hoping that one day Bill would hold him like this. Yet to be here right now - when their friends are out there under threat - makes him pull him away.

“We both know what this world is like, Remus,” Bill whispers to him - his eyes so dark that Remus can feel his heart shatter into a million little pieces. The ‘ we both know that we’re probably not going to make it out of this alive ’ lingering in the air, until the sound of a door being slammed shut makes them both jump.

They share a look - both knowing fully well that this is the last moment they will ever get together before they’ll be torn apart. So this time when Bill tries to take him into his arms, Remus doesn’t stop him.

“How about one last dance?”
