hello! in case you missed it, "small things" zines are now available to download or view online. "cowboys" zine downloads will be removed at the end of the month so grab them now if you haven't already

I'm planning to host the next zine bash in july and/or august, and would love to have another normal event in october/november. I'll be sourcing the theme for the next one from the #theme-suggestions channel on our discord so please head over there to share your ideas and vote on others! and if you're interested in hosting/co-hosting the later event, let me know :)

I'm still mulling over thoughts about mini events, social media, a better website, etc etc so stay tuned for more updates soon. and as always if you have any thoughts or ideas for zine bash or would like to get involved, reach out!

cowboy zines are now available as print copies and downloads! downloads are free and you can print them yourself; if you'd like print copies mailed to you, you can get the full set of 10 for $2 + postage. prints are only available through july 31st 2024, but downloads are available through june of next year.

My submission for @zinebash 6: all the small things! I haven't done this before, but I wanted to try something new and give myself permission to be a little messy and unpolished with it, so here. Read my zine with me at 4 pm on my kitchen table.

For once I managed to catch a @zinebash deadline in time, hooray! This zine theme was made for me, I had a whole gallery of photos I've taken of tiny things just raring to go.

I love the concept of 'vandalising' pictures with a label maker and poetry in your heart to create Art. The rest of the pages are under the cut!

my submission for jack's 'all the small things' @zinebash i spent ages thinking about what small things were interesting to me, and i realised i really love tiny flowers so chose that as my subject! i tried to really create a scrapbook feeling and loosen up with the text as my submissions usually tend to veer away from being personal

this also really got me in the mood to start pressing and drying flowers again lol

My submission for @zinebash #6 - "All The Small Things"

No one who knows me will be surprised that when I saw this prompt I immediately defaulted to thinking about small birds, and there are no birds smaller than hummingbirds! Funnily enough I also recently went to an exhibition about birds at the natural history museum and ended up learning a lot about hummingbirds, and so I ended up making an informational zine about all the reasons they're such fantastic animals. Hope you all enjoy learning some fun bird facts!

This was my entry for ZINE BASH 06: ALL THE SMALL THINGS. Thank you for hosting @zinebash!

My first piece of the year! Hopefully many more to follow. The first of many in which I deal with the grief of gradually losing someone very dear to me.

On a more cheerful note, I’ve been playing around with a filter on Inkscape and I feel like it gives it a riso print vibe, so I’ll probably do something like that later on.

ZINE BASH #06 - ALL THE SMALL THINGS [@zinebash] ‘Our Childhood Dollhouse’

An easy one for me - queen of the small things - going back to my roots of spending countless hours at my plethora of dollhouses - one at each of my many estates (grandparents houses).

Being an only child for half my life and being fortunate enough to have loving grandparents whom never moved my childhood things, I am left with a whole rooms that have remained relatively untouched since I put down my games of make believe for the last time. Funny how you never realise when that will be, because although I still love to arrange, name and display little guys I can’t seem to breathe life into them like I did back then. And without that little girl squirrelling herself away to that house everyday I don’t think I’d be the person I am today, and for that I thank that her and make this tribute to her favourite small things.

-> finally finished my zine for 'all the small things' on @zinebash ! concept: little piano riffs to vamp 'til infinity (+ qr code links to mp3 demos!)

this was a blast to work on. i was motivated by a need to share some of the short piano riffs i've written that haven't been developed into full songs/pieces. my design inspo: all the illustrated method books i've used to learn & teach music over the years.

i've submitted this zine in the correct orientation for archive on the zinebash blog, but anyone who would like a printable version rn can find it on my drive here (just fold & cut like you would for any traditional 8-pg letter-size zine) xx
