I know this is going to make me sound pretensions but I have to get it off my chest. I feel an unimaginable rage when someone posts a photo and is like "this picture looks like a renaissance painting lol" when the photo clearly has the lighting, colors and composition of a baroque or romantic painting. There are differences in these styles and those differences are important and labeling every "classical" looking painting as renaissance is annoying and upsetting to me. And anytime I come across one of those posts I have to put down my phone and go take a walk because they make me so mad

I had a really weird bout of sleep paralysis last night

I was sleeping on my side (which vastly helps reduce sleep paralysis, but it still occurs) and Sybil appeared on the side of the bed in front of me, her back facing me, but she was looking over her shoulder at me

I knew it was sleep paralysis because I recognize it now, but it was really distressing to keep trying to reach out to her and not be able to

she jumped off the bed and it ended

Reggie not caring that he’s making my watercoloring much more difficult by making me reach way further from my palette to the paper

Not even (accidental) water and paint drips can dissuade him

(He does this when I work from home, too, and makes me extend my arms really far just to type 😅 I never have the heart to move him)

After struggling with mid-grade watercolors for several weeks, I sucked it up yesterday and went into town and bought a curated pack of Daniel Smith watercolors for 60-something dollars. 😩

I have an extremely limited color palette, but they really do work and blend like a dream.

I’m kind of annoyed; I didn’t want to love Daniel Smith because I’m secretly a hipster and don’t want to like what everyone else likes, but I guess there’s a reason. I’ve already ordered more colors 💸 💀
