Black Sabbath (1963)
Wurdulac is a vampire in the Slavic folklore mythology. Some Western sources define it as a type of “Russian vampire” that must consume the blood of its loved ones and convert its whole family. This notion is based apparently on Alexey K. Tolstoy’s novella The Family of the Vourdalak.

Movie characters stitched and designed by Rachel Warren:
Suspiria.
Halloween project complete. Ultimate horror goddess Barbara Steele from the 1960 Mario Bava movie Black Sunday 🖤
Unpopular opinion- the 1949 Little Women adaptation is my favorite and Margaret O’Brian is the best Beth. Fight me. (Actually don’t fight me. I have had this fight 1000 times. You cannot change my mind)
Maxwell Demon in feathers. Velvet Goldmine.
Valley of the Dolls part 1: Sharon Tate as Jennifer.
Valley of the Dolls part 2: The legendary Patty Duke as Neely O’Hara.
Valley of the Dolls part 3: Barbara Parkins (my favorite) as Anne Welles.
My all-time favorite television character of all time. Agnes Moorehead as Endora in Bewitched.
First crush. Forever crush. Ann-Margret in Bye Bye Birdie.
When I was 14 I watched this movie every day after school for like, a year. PJ Soles as Riff Randall in Rock ‘n’ Roll High School.

If you've been following us for a while, you know how much we loved Mark Cousins' epic documentary Women Make Film (2018) which we watched over the course of the first lockdown. Cousins' latest instalment, The Story of Film: A New Generation is now out on demand. This time, the documentarian looks at world cinema from 2010 to 2021 and ponders what comes next for film in the streaming age. As a Christmas Treat, @dogwoof is giving Zodiac followers a 20% discount. Use the code TSOFANG20 to stream it via Dogwoof on Demand (check our bio for the link) https://www.instagram.com/p/CXrDClRtZKW/?utm_medium=tumblr

To countdown to our first ever Christmas special screening on the 21st Dec (link in bio, you know what to do), we're recommending 12 days of fairytale and folklore films to get you in the spirit. Tonight, the gorgeous shadow puppetry of Lotte Reiniger, some of which we’re showing on Tuesday. “I believe in the truth of fairy-tales more than I believe in the truth in the newspaper. ” - Lotte Reiniger #12daysoffolkandfairytalefilms https://www.instagram.com/p/CXo0Cp2NUr9/?utm_medium=tumblr

To countdown to our first ever Christmas special screening on the 21st Dec (link in bio, you know what to do), we're recommending 12 days of fairytale and folklore films to get you in the spirit. Tonight it’s a double bill of British TV folk horror, Robin Redbreast (1970) and The Devil of Christmas (2016) In the 70s BBC ‘Play for Today’, a woman finds herself being manipulated by the residence of a rural village. In ‘Inside Number 9’s meta ode to the folk horror genre, a family on a skiing hospital encounter the folk tale of the Krampus, with a rather nasty twist at the end. #12daysoffolkandfairytalefilms https://www.instagram.com/zodiacfilmclub/p/CXmJD5hNvWw/?utm_medium=tumblr

To countdown to our first ever Christmas special screening on the 21st Dec (link in bio, you know what to do), we're recommending 12 days of fairytale and folklore films to get you in the spirit. Next up, Bluebeard (2010). In French provocateur Catherine Breillat’s spin on Bluebeard, one sister scares the other by reading her the serial killer fairy tale. #12daysoffolkandfairytalefilms https://www.instagram.com/p/CXjnUg5N8G4/?utm_medium=tumblr

To countdown to our first ever Christmas special screening on the 21st Dec (link in bio, you know what to do), we're recommending 12 days of fairytale and folklore films to get you in the spirit. Since we missed yesterday's, we're doing two today! First up, Kirikou and the Sorceress (1998). Based on a West African myth, Kirikou and the Sorceress tells the story of a precocious child, and his fight against the witch who has stolen all the men of his village. This beautifully animated film features a soundtrack by Senegalese musician Youssou N'Dour. #12daysoffolkandfairytalefilms https://www.instagram.com/p/CXgWwoLA_J_/?utm_medium=tumblr
