I have a dumb question as someone who doesn’t know anything about mha but has been enjoying cute bakudeku stuff over the past few weeks:

How much stuff is there in canon that is anything like all the fanart? I imagine that quite a few liberties are taken and that’s totally okay, love the art, it’s cute and yummy, but I’m just wondering how much of a foundation it has if that is understandable?

hmmmm, i PERSONALLY don't read anything romantic in it because i simply don't read a romance undertone between them in canon. however, deku is very fixated on bakugo and i think younger deku is written like he definitely had a crush on little bakugo, the flashbacks are so funny like he blushes and chases after bakugo etc.)

and they are protagonist & deuteragonist/foils & bakugo is the damsel in distress to deku's hero pendant more than once so they do sometimes fall into romantic tropes i guess like I wouldn’t fight it.

anyway, i don't think horikoshi ever intended to imply anything romantic between these two boys, but i think he nevertheless put a lot of thought and care into their dynamic :) <3 i think their charm is that they feel like two authentic teenagers, the good, the bad , the messy, and a lot of the mess stems from their weird, mutual fixation on each other. I don't think bakugo's intense irritation stems from suppressed romantic feelings but regardless of that, there are lots of feelings to unpack in canon and they do tackle that several times and it's nice to follow this journey.

also deku is a very very affectionate boy, he rlly does love bakugo a lot! which scares bakugo away idk they're both so emblematic of adolescence.

idk if this answers your question sorry. short answer no, long answer there are nevertheless lots of unresolved feelings to work through and the whole story hinges on (and i'd say a lot of fan workds are rooted in those canon feelings)

re-read the 200s and I love their awkward phase in-between animosity and rekindled friendship :) bakugo has an awkward way of expressing his interest and worries regarding deku’s quirk and deku in general it’s so funny to follow

Soo, let's continue with my oc mha kids! Now the Kirishima family~

Natsuki was born after an internal fight, some life-changing decision taking and many following miscarriages. Children were the last Katsuki was aiming for, but bonding with Izuku's son made him feel a certain type of emptiness - both of them got pregnant at the same time but only Haruki was born, because Izuku wasn't after ratings and didn't make becoming number one hero his main life goal. And he also had a very experienced, calm and supportive spouse(Rody), whereas Katsuki made Eijirou as nervous and uncertain as he was and also got very distant at that first time.

Haruki made Katsuki change his mind, but Natsuki was born only around 4,5 years later - and only after Katsuki completely quit hero work for that time. Born one month early, she's gonna live for all those before her - and she's doing it successfully, believe me!

A bit about her quirk: since she's mostly like Katsuki, they thought it's the same explosion. As it +turned out, if she gets really agitated, her skin may harden very insignificantly. Maybe with time and lots of training she might get somewhere with it? For now, she only gets really embarrassed when it goes all over her face (because that's what fifteen year old teens care about, even if she's the daughter of two famous heroes)

I was working so hard on this, really hope someone will like it! My precious rodydeku lovechild, Haruki-kun, in bnha-style! I don't like everything I managed but so far this is my maximum.

Some background info: Haruki's quirk is emotion manipulation - his animal, similar to Pino, reflects his own mood, but when it's touched by someone else, their emotions get translated towards Haruki! He can slightly influence how the person is feeling, and it's very suiting, because he is very kind.

After a faithful encounter with a broken support item in the support department, where Izuku took him to have a word with Hatsume Mei about his gear, Haruki decided he's gonna be the best inventor to help all those heroes outside and make their lives easier.

He also has a freepass into the dynariot's support department agency, but he doesn't feel that he is good enough to work there yet, so after graduating from UA he is still mostly spending time under Hatsume's wing. I hope you like him as much as I do!

Those two are a product of my pure love for Rodydeku: Eddie (the younger) and Haruki Soul (because being a Midoriya while one of your dads is No 1 hero is kinda dangerous I guess)

The two of them have different stories I would like to share in the future if someone will be interested! What can I say for now: a)the squirrel on Haruki's shoulder is not always a squirrel

b) the squirrel's colors look familiar if you think about it...

c) Haruki is definitely a regular at Hatsume Mei's home, even if it's at UA

d) what about Eddie? Well, let me tell you, he does have just one joint in his pinky toe. But why does dad keep looking at him with this unbearable haunted expression all those fourteen years?

I know I'm great just the way I am. I hope he will see it one day, too.
