Happy New Year from Zukalations!!
I hope we all had a tolerable 2022 and 2023 will be full of nice things!
I will try to be better about crossposting to the tumblr this year, but once again if you want to be guaranteed weekly updates of Takarazuka translations, please do check out our new home (zukalations d*t com) and add it to your rss feed reader or join the mailing list.
There are some shows I'm very into this year so there will be even more posts than usual, as well as some new book projects.

New Book Translation - Berubara and I
Hello all! My latest long translation project has just started posting over on the homepage!
This book was published in 2006 and features long-form interviews with many Rose of Versailles stars from the last 30 years, so I thought it was perfect for the 50th anniversary of the comic! (And hopefully I can complete it before the 50th anniversary of the Takarazuka productions!) You can check out Part 1 of Chapter 1 here (featuring the first actress to play Oscar, Haruna Yuri), and find an index of all book translations here.

Roman Holiday broken link
Hi there, I just thought I'd let you know that on the translated shows page the Roman Holiday link currently takes you to the Nijinsky script!
~~~~~~
Thank you for letting us know!
I'll get that fixed when I can but for now, the Roman Holiday page on the new website has the correct file <3
Takarazuka Revue Cosmos Troupe – Anon Yuusei in first junior performance lead “I was moved by the audience’s applause”
Takarazuka Revue Cosmos Troupe – Anon Yuusei in first junior performance lead “I was moved by the audience’s applause”
The junior performance for the Takarazuka Revue Cosmos Troupe Production Sherlock Holmes: The Game is Afoot! Took place on the 20th in the Takarazuka Grand Theatre, Hyogo Prefecture. The lead, Anon Yuusei, is a member of the 103rd class, and the heroine, Yamabuki Hibari, is a member of the 105th class. They are the first members of their classes to have an [otokoyaku] lead and heroine role, respectively.
Anon is tall at 173 cm, and her figure shone onstage. She seemed comfortable onstage playing Sherlock Holmes, yet looking back on the performance she said “I was actually super-duper nervous (laughs). I was worrying about how I had to lead everyone from the center and such.” However, the main cast Top Star Makaze Suzuho advised her “You should just live as the character.” She also revealed that at times when she was thinking about how she wanted to be more like Makaze, she kindly suggested “You should be Anon’s Holmes.”
It was Anon’s first time acting in center stage, and she said “I was moved by the audience’s applause.” But on the other hand, “As I was acting and moving, I’d end up going back to my non-otokoyaku self. I want to develop a big-hearted aura that can envelop Yamabuki even more,” she reflected.
Yamabuki, who played the heroine Irene, also received encouragement from main cast Top Musumeyaku Jun Hana. “Irene is a strong woman. If you can live as the character, Irene will help you.”
“The Irene inside me is still so small. I want her to be a life-sized Irene by the Tokyo [junior] performance,” Yamabuki said, expressing her ambitions.
The junior performance in the Tokyo Takarazuka Theatre takes place on September 2.
