You can use a service like From Japan or Buyee.jp (posting on mobile is hell so you'll have to google them). It's a bit of a hassle and you'll need to copy-paste a lot, but hey, Do It For Them. You'll only pay for the price of the items for now, months later when they ship the items to the proxy service's warehouse you'll pay for domestic shipping (from Sanrio to the warehouse in Japan) + shipping from the warehouse to you + fees, all in one go, you have around 30 days to complete that step.

one time I was looking for writing advice and I found a thread where one person was like "just don't write themes. I don't write themes into any of my stories". response so stupid I forgot what my problem was

Characters who were raised by wolves but somehow still learn how to speak and act human despite of having spent the key developing years without human contact are both unrealistic and frankly kind of boring and overdone by now. Imagine a character team where one of them is a (somewhat) realistic raised-by-wildlife grown feral child, and the other one is essentially a glorified handler, who manages all the people-business for both of them.

And the companion is the only other human person that the feral one trusts in any way at all. Better yet, make them clearly be romantically involved with each other. Like

"Wait, she's your wife? ...Uh, with all due respect, but can she like... Can she even consent?" "Look lad. I respect you being worried for her welfare and for being direct about that instead of circlin' around so I'm gonna be straight about it right back at you: She's bigger than me, stronger than me, and frankly, I don't think she spent much time wondering whether I'm consenting."

DashCon 2 is having Oak Park Deli operate a snack stand on-site. The nearest place to buy food off-site is a supermarket ten minutes away, so please be aware of that when budgeting/packing your bags! They will be able to accomodate gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, and vegan diets, but folks with dietary restrictions should still be mindful when planning.

Competing can be pretty nerve-wracking, so before the competition begins, you’ll have the opportunity to strut your stuff on stage without participating in the competition! That’s the ‘catwalk’ portion. Low-stakes fun. We encourage you to sign up if you’re cosplaying at DashCon 2 - you deserve your time in the spotlight!

VirtualDash Cosplay

VirtualDash will have a cosplay catwalk of its own! If you have a particularly DashCon 2-flavoured cosplay from years prior, or want to cosplay this year from home, you’ll have a dedicated forum to show off your stuff!

We’re still working on the logistics of an online cosplay competition, so if you’re a cosplayer willing to judge it, don’t hesistate to reach out to activities@dashcontwo.com!

When can I sign up?

Cosplay Catwalk/Competition early signups open this Saturday!! That will be accessible from the website and the upcoming newsletter. You don’t need to sign up in advance for VirtualDash cosplay.

Merch FAQ

We’ve had a bunch of people asking when they can expect their merch items, and the answer is sometime in mid-July. We haven’t shipped anything yet, as merch items are currently preorder-only. IRL attendees get merch access first, and orders start shipping starting from the day after the convention, July 6th.
