During the review process, Steam flagged my game as using AI generated assets. This makes the release of the game on Steam uncertain. This is problematic in so many ways I don't even know where to begin. I've sent many assets of WIPs and Photoshop images that proves everything was human-made, but at this point, I'm not sure if the game will ever be able to release. Omori X Reborn a zombie!

I'm happy to announce that Reborn a Zombie's development is close to its completion! I'm currently hunting for bugs and enhance the script a bit more, but I'm confident to announce that Reborn a zombie will release for free on Steam, August 7th!

Not gonna lie, seeing the game running on a steam deck feels great!

The UI is still a bit buggy, but I think I want to make a proper "Steam deck compatible" version given the chance. I4ve tested a couple things and it was promising so far!

Working on UI is difficult, so I decided to hire someone talented! The first version was made by the lovely Alice.Works who made a ton of high quality work! Things had to be reworked based on feedback we received, but overall, I think they all look great on their own right!

Before and after, about a year gap between the two! The first image was a proto-prototype(?) made with Renpy. The second used Naninovel/Unity. It was a journey to get there, filled with happy moments and other where I'd be just crying because of what was ahead of me: Insurmontable tasks, bugs, unanticipated challenges... In the end it was all worth it.

This is a good exemple of work-in-progress in terms of visual effects. In the first draft, the portal looked cool, but it wasn't clearly conveying what is was -A gateway to another world.- The second version is simpler, but clearer and efficient! You can also see how the UI evolved and it feels so much better than working with placeholder assets!

I got to "enhance" the backgrounds with some VFX of my own, I'm still really happy with the result even if behind the stage it's a MESS ahah.
