If Bruce 'made up' with Jason at the diner following the events at Sanctuary, the Red Hood shouldn't be reluctant to ask Bruce for permission to be in Gotham for a necessary surgery. Instead, Jason kidnaps Tim and asks him to make sure Bruce doesn't know he's in Gotham. Yeah, nothing about this sounds like they've forgiven each other.

reading other comics just tells me how much more/equally rebellious and reckless the other robins were but somehow jason was the worst of them all. he didn't even have friends or a hero team to go be rebellious and disobedient to batman with. he disobeyed bruce/acted recklessly a few times in his entire original robin run and most of those times were for personal reasons (like his connection to two face and rape victims-- also to save his fucking mother). everyone's allowed to mess up but jason is never given the same grace and that continues to where we currently are in his red hood arc. fun!!! ♥️

know that if you hate a character theres a dc writer out there doing it better.

“i hate x character” okay but have you considered killing them in a brutal way and proceeding to remove any and all weight of their character by turning them into a plot device for the narrative, alongside slandering their entire character so hard multiple people believe your horrid take on a CHILD BTW.

also anyone who thought “he deserved to die bc i hate him” better not like batman/have batman as a fav character bc guess what. his THING is that no one deserves to die and that you cant decide that for someone else.

I have seen a lot of people try to make an argument that Jason doesn’t deserve sympathy for his death because pretty much every member of the bat family has died at some point. And while that is true, there is one crucial difference between Jason’s death and those of the other family members, and that difference is that Jason didn’t come home to a hug. He didn’t come home to people happy to see him. He didn’t even have people searching for a way to bring him back. When Damian died, Bruce was willing to bring Jason back to the site of his brutal murder and beat him up in an attempt to find a way to bring Damian back. Jason never got that. I’m not saying that they didn’t mourn Jason, but they certainly didn’t treat his death like the absolute tragedy it was. In the end, Jason was killed so that Bruce and Dick could have character development, and then proceed to slander his name and ruin his legacy, turning him into the angry, stupid Robin who died because he acted rashly when all he wanted was a family he could feel fully safe in. And when he finally came back as his own person, he was demonized for. I wonder a lot how different Jason’s story could have been if just once his family said “we are so glad you’re okay” instead of “How could you?”

everything i learn about dc comics is against my will wdym superman, talia al ghul, bruce wayne, hal jordan, and deathstroke all have something in common and its touching kids.

ik for some of them it was retconned/not technically kids (?) but the fact that dc consistently okays these storylines really makes me feel better about reading wfa and fanfics. "but they're out of character" so are 90% of the comic storylines, no one knows who the characters are atp.

say what you will about the current state of red hood comic writing but at least hes not grooming hes just getting groomed😍😍/j

hey dc, jason todd is actually a very interesting character for a wide variety of reasons! he offers a way to challenge the status quo of justice and heroism, he has potential as a character to balance good and evil actions, he has a strict set of values that are highly influenced by how he grew up and where he grew up, and he is a very tragic character! all good things! hes also just fun to read when you do him right! you could make unbelievable profit if you did this i guarantee you!! i spent big fucking bucks on some of his tpbs!! im about to spend more big bucks on his figures!

please dc, please do something right.

i fucking hate ragebait so much. like why would you 1. WANT to piss people off on the internet, and 2. spread misinformation. its genuinely so fucking mindless and pointless no wonder why lex fucking luthor had rage monkeys, thank you james gunn. i also feel like theres never been such a prevalence of people wanting negative engagement before?? like theres no way this was such a big thing in 2019.

and we're supposed to feel like the people who fall for it/engage with it are just stupid or something?? "lmao you fell for ragebait" ok and?? ragebait is like newer equivalent of what people were doing before with "omg it was ironical, like dont you get the joke??" when it was a. never irony, and b. never funny.

half the time, ragebait is just like, straight up spreading disinformation on the subject, and we're supposed to just ignore it or something because its meant to be unserious?? the real danger of it is that ik people will believe it because lets be honest, no one wants to do research (myself included) when someone on the internet sounds like they're giving it to them straight.

and i get that unless its directly HARMFUL hate speech, theres nothing you can do about ragebait. first amendment and all that. but i feel like just because you can't stop them, doesnt mean you should be like okay with it. and i do feel like toleration leans toward acceptance in this case.

you cant tell me we all grew up learning about the horrors committed in ww2, slavery, and everything that the europeans did to the indigenous peoples, and we STILL decided to be hateful, only to market it as societal advancement.
