I’m sure a lot of folks know this but it was news to me -

If you or someone you know uses Braille, the Tarot Garden looks like they offer a brailling service that will let you pick a deck and have it brailled in either contracted and uncontracted braille.

They also keep a few braille decks of Rider-Waite on hand.

I’ve been having some vision issues which are fairly normal for my family but scary to me. I’ve been worried what the impact would be on my ability to read cards so I’ve been teaching myself to sight read braille to start and I’m gonna try touch training when I’m able.

Knowing there are places that braille tarot cards and you have options as far as decks - that’s really reassuring to me.

Hello S!

I am working with my Holographic A.E. Waite Tarot deck today. I have asked it the question "What is K's intention toward S?" I used a 2 card spread where the first represents you and the second represents the other person. These are the results:

You: 8 of Swords Reversed

Them: Page of Swords

Summary: They want to help you, but both of you are a bit misguided about the other (and, in part, yourselves). They may see you as a damsel in distress.

My first thought when looking at these cards is a sense of a savior, or knight to the rescue. K seems to want to rescue you from the situation you're in, whether that be emotional, external, or some specific problem. (Most likely an emotional problem that stems from past events, that is now so large it's creating external problems for you.) However, there seems to be a block, or hesitation, or something in the way for them.

One thing these cards could be saying is you do not need to be rescued. You may be sinking excessively into feelings of being trapped or indecisive, which may have become the trap you're stuck in itself. But if you take a look at the 8 of swords, you'll realize there's no one stopping you from escaping. Your bindings are possible to remove. Your problems are not surrounding you or blocking your path, they just make it harder to go in certain directions. There are many paths open to you still. In fact, you may be your biggest enemy right now. There are other people or events that may have put you in this situation, but you only punish yourself by staying here. You have the power to help yourself, but you also have the power to block yourself in further, which may be happening right now.

The 8 of Swords could just be an emphasized comment on not seeing K very clearly, or in fact being blind to them. Some of what may be standing in the way of you two is your problems, conflicts, past memories, or both of your attachment to logic and absolutes. Remember that a person is faceted, and you may not know everything.

Neither of you seem to be on the same level right now, and you seem to be coming from different places. There is a lot of connection and sameness, but a bit of a misguided view as well. If K's intention is to eventually come forth and save you, they're a long way from it. for one, they're in a completely different place than you. They're high up, you're down low. Perhaps they sometimes look down on you, and/or you look up to them but can't actually see them for who they are. Also, a sword is not what is needed to help you in this situation, it would be the opposite of helpful. I don't think they're in a position right now to know that. You have enough swords - logic and conflict and big reactions are part of the problem, but also there is no good way for this situation to go if they come in with a sword in hand. They will either be wasting their time hacking away at the big scary things around you and ignoring the real root of the problem (and again, not seeing you) or they'll be trying to cut your blindfolds away, which- ouch.

While another person is not necessary in this situation, you may appreciate someone else there to help you take off your blindfold and accompany you on your journey out. What is needed right now is a gentle approach, someone who's willing to be on the sidelines for this. That may not be something your Page of Swords is used to. They're used to preparing for their battles from afar (hence why they haven't come to your rescue yet) and they're used to coming at problems with logic, curiosity, and large swift strokes. They tend to have one foot out the door looking for the next problem or opportunity.

Your mutual priority of logic and knowledge connects you, but they take the brighter side while you take the darker. Their experience is from a far more joyful and passionate place, they still have a touch of naivety and innocence. This might be something that you simultaneously envy and get aggravated by. You don't see the joy they experience as something that is meant for you. They also might not always be as sensitive or understanding as they should be of your situation or of how you cope with things. Some coping mechanisms are unhealthy, but it is also unhealthy to slash away at them thoughtlessly. There is importance in the ways people have managed to withstand pain, whether or not it is good for them. This is a lesson your page is still learning. The best thing for you is not to cut away at what you have, but to reveal your other options so you can slowly begin making replacements- on your own terms.

You may wear the opposite of rose tinted glasses, seeing your problems as all the world has to offer you. K is here to shine a light through that mentality, but it is up to you to see that. Part of them is waiting for you to look up and see them for who they are, to see not just the naivety in their joy but also the importance and potential of it. The truth may be that you have so many things within yourself to deal with at the moment that you simply cannot do that. That is alright. Focus on your life and joy, and perhaps they will wait for a bit.

Both of you seem indecisive and hesitant right now, freezing in place. If you eventually choose to further this connection, one of you is going to have to decide what you want.

What are you not seeing right now? How may you be misinterpreting K? What might they not see about you? How can you communicate what you need to them, without disrespecting them or their current place in life?

astrologyequality Revamped

Years ago this blog was astrologyequality. I used it as a tool to dive deeper into astrology, and so I could post my own "signs as" posts with personal twists, like poetry.

I stopped using it awhile ago, but now it's back! Welcome to bearerofcups - a place where I will be diving further into tarot, something I've been studying casually for years but have now decided to become more serious about. Bearer is a reference to water bearer, as I am an Aquarius, and cups because it is the suit I live in and prize most. All of my signifier cards have been cups, and I think Aquarius is basically described as a cup, given the water bearer title. (Also I have a water moon if you can't tell.)

We'll be mixing it with astrology and poetry still and there may be times I offer limited free readings to enhance my skills (with boundaries in place, I am an intermediate reader and I'm not gonna be responsible for anyone's big life choices right now lol)

Can someone explain to me why Fangirl doesn't end? That pisses me off so bad. There was just a cute moment and a bit of the last Simon snow book and then...nothing.
