What are your fave dick grayson fanfics?

So like I’m not sure if I have a favorite, favorite you know? I can be kind of picky in certain ways and it depends on mood and I tend to reread a lot. My ability to read longer works (be it fics or books) waxes and wanes with the time.

I don’t love what a fair amount of the fandom thinks of Dick Grayson a lot.. and how it’s bleeding into canon/comics. The himbo golden retriever ization and lowering competence is… not something I like, personally. (DG is not a golden retriever, he is at LEAST a border collie although I’d argue a border collie x springer spaniel mix I’ve had one and like pls… DG is that, I need to make a post about this) Now I’m not saying he doesn’t have flaws or whatever, I’m not insane but like he’s pretty hyper competent (it’s similar to how Obi-Wan Kenobi is treated in Star Wars and like, he’s my fav too… so pattern?)

Anyways that’s not your question okay so like I said it depends on my mood. I tend to avoid shippy stuff (although Ngl id like to read more Kori x Dick stuff that’s not from TT animated series) and it also depends on if I like Bruce or not that day. Like if I like Dick then on some level I have to like Bruce cause they do love each other and I DO like their relationship... when Bruce isn't written as a total asshat. But like I said, my brain shifts.

My feelings on Bruce swing day to day if I want to read good dad or bad dad. This happened with Qui-Gon from Star Wars too so I’m not surprised. This is kinda similar with Jason too I guess? Cause like sometimes I really can’t stand him but finding fics that don’t have him being all good and what the fandom wants/whatever is impossible so I do read plenty of Dick and Jason bonding. Even if I don’t always care for Jason, some fics can be kinda sweet.

On the other hand, even if it can be kind of ooc/fanon-ish, I love love love Dick and Damian stuff. I EAT that stuff up like you would not believe. A lot of it is one shots and small stuff. Okay, okay, so for your ACTUAL question (I'm sorry, I tend to ramble and overly explain)

I read a Quiet Ache by Grayson1996 which is an excellent mix of good and bad dad Bruce but like Damian’s protectiveness and calm disbelief of his father’s apologies is like whoa.

The City without stars in its skies by Alienu is a delightful au that I found quite amusing and fun cause like if anyone could do a “I can fix him” to a ten year old assassin sent to kill him it’s dick Grayson and somehow I feel like this has probably happened to some extent before (like... not exactly but kinda the Wilson kids perhaps?)

The Rule Stands by Engineerd? Oh… oh honey. Damian befriends a ten year old DG and it’s absolutely darling. In love so cute, I cannot recommend enough. And the ending? MUA

Delirium by glitter_in_my_eyes has Dick, Lian, Roy, Tim AND Damian so like... fr fr. Soft spot for Roy and Lian.

Watch This by snackbaskets is HILARIOUS. Little Dick Grayson meeting the Justice League and absolutely freaking Hal and Barry out. 10/10 no notes.

A Trip to the Zoo by pocketofsky is super cute. A little Dick and Damian thing with the zoo.

Happy Waffle Day by The_Word is just joy cause like confusion from Tim and Dick, Damian and Steph being absolutely hilarious. It's like crack (and yes, I am a little bitter that DC totally missed the mark on making those three a great trio)

There's a fair amount but a few I like for a pick me up.

This does not include the whole SLEW of fics I have saved from FF.net (yes, yes, I still have it although I don't use it, I do go back to reread fics I have listed there)

I feel weird for not having a specific favorite fic, especially one that’s like more accurate or whatever but I can’t think of one off the top of my head. Most of my tastes depend on the day and how I’m feeling.

I love Dick and Damian reunion shots cause Spyral HURTS and I REFUSE to read anything where Damian is weird or unhappy that Dick is alive (especially canonically, he's super happy like literal grinning and flipping when he sees him)

I am always 100% open to hearing about Dick Grayson fics and recs, although I'm not a shippy person and certain tropes wig me out a bit. I should try to expand my horizons a bit but boyyyy do I LOVE the Dick Dami stuff.

I'm sorry, that was crazy long and more information than asked for but like, I honestly really like responding to these things. I haven't been around here lately but I'm kind of an on and off person, depending on how I feel and if there is a something I'm really into at the time. I go through the phases, of course, but there are a few that are always there, just coming forth once in a while (Dick Grayson is one of these subjects)

I know being a Dick Grayson fan is popular but I won’t apologize for it.

I do understand wanting to see more or talk more about favs who aren’t well known or their character is hardly accurate to the fandom.

So tell me about them. I want to know.

So like I’m a casual mild comic book collector/reader. I used to be more into it but it’s all so big and confusing and with social media being what it is, it made me dislike characters and interactions I probably would have liked previously.

Honestly I don’t read nearly as much anymore and my comic book collecting is mostly for pretty art and/or Nightwing. I’ve pretty much stopped altogether with Marvel comics (I liked Hawkeye and I still do). Essentially, I’ll grab a comic book if it has pretty art or an artist I like the art of (off the top of my head I like Mora of course and Capullo) that I can look at and study. Cause I’m an artist. Or I’ll get a comic book cause Dick Grayson. If it’s a Nightwing or DG as Batman whatever and I see it, chances are I’ll get it.

So like I kind of collect and I kind of don’t. At this point, I solely go after Nightwing, on occasion some random indie comic that looks nice and once in a while some other character I like/come across/Damians Robin.

This being said, since I have such an attachment to Nightwing, I would like to have comic issues or whatever that involve the OG Titans. I know Garth and Donna don’t have much but if anyone can tell me specific issues they are in so I can be on the lookout, I would appreciate it.

I know Wally and Roy have more about them but if there are specific issues that you’d recommend (or several) I would appreciate it.

On a lesser note, I’d be also open to Kori and Raven recs as well.

I read this batman fanfiction where the fam is in a time loop and dick is the one who disappears/dies and doesn’t remember but I can no longer find it. The concept was kinda gruesome, like dismemberment or something. It’s annoyingggggggg
