this is some amazing pixel artworks! How do you decide on what bug to make next? Sorry if this has already been answered in an earlier post
Choosing what to make next is the hardest part 😅 I do however have a nice big list that I compiled before I started with all the bug families that I think warrant inclusion so I can check them off as I go and make sure nothing gets left out. Just the families though, choosing which species will represent those families is very much something that I do as I go :]

Would you consider adding the Ailanthus Webworm Moth? it's one of my new favorite bugs ever since I found one on my window :)
Thanks for the inspiration I hope I have done it justice :]

Summer bug tip: if u just came back from a hike / gardening / silly little walk outside, shake off your shoes and clothes while standing in the bathtub. Any loose bugs from outside clinging to your clothes will now be extra visible against the white porcelain as opposed to other types of floor in your house and you can easily take pics and take them back outside from there:]

Summer bug photo tip: do u want to take a picture of a bug but you're worried about it getting away? Put your bug in a bucket. Just a regular open top bucket no lid. Bugs do not know how to get out of a bucket. You think ur bug can simply fly away? Yeah it used to know how to fly, all it knows now though is bucket

Sorry for lack of bug art lately Spring has started and I've been distracted by all the buggies:)
More art soon though 🩷 in the mean time anyone is welcome to join our bug discord server (search for the word "discord" on my blog and it should give you a link that is hopefully not expired lol)

Today's bug of the day is the common silverfish! I hope you like it I've never drawn a silverfish before so I hope I didn't get any of the major details wrong :]

hello!! i just found out about your project and am super stoked to see how everythin progresses! it’s really cool to see how much love you hold for all these little guys :)
i know you mentioned spiders in the past, are any species of “Myrmarachne” on the table for potential additions? i’ve always found aggressive mimicry super cool and they just look. so. awesome!?? — the red weaver-ant mimicking jumper (what a mouthful lol) or “Myrmarachne plataleoides” is my absolute favorite and actually introduced me to the genus as a whole!!
i absolutely adore what you’ve done so far <3
Hi! I just looked up these spiders and I am so impressed... Like I know they are spiders but when I look at them my brain just says "ant! ant! ant!" We love mimicry in this house and I gotta include at least one of these guys:]

I love when Past Cel learns how to identify a bug and then writes down notes about it so that Future Cel also knows how to identify that bug
*Flashforward to Present Cel learning how to identify a bug* I don't need to write this down... I'm sure I'll remember...

I tagged this originally with #unrelatable posts but I clearly misread my audience on this one haha I'm happy y'all understand
I read a lot of taxonomic papers and learning about new bugs and how to identify them is great and wonderful but a true underrated part of the experience is picking up on the subtle passive aggression between taxonomists who clearly don't like each other very much. "Apparently Johnson thought bug 1 and bug 2 were the same species, which he clearly wouldn't have if he actually examined the specimens" like yes go off king I live for this
