I would absolutely take this case!

He'd be 12, so he'd be at the age to go to Juvi, but considering where he is in his mental state, I would fight for him to get help and maybe to lessen his sentence. It was an accident after all.

I'd go for Unvoluntary Manslaughter. In California, that would be 4 years in prison or jail or a fine of $10,000. Since this is a traumatized child, I'd fight to have my client go on probation to reduce his sentence to jailtime for 1-2 years, along with therapy.
