One of the social functions of conspiracy theories is to bury genuine malfeasance beneath a layer of bullshit.
See, for example:
Monsanto’s business practices vs. GMO hysteria;
Epstein’s book vs. QAnon;
George W. Bush’s use of 9/11 as a pretext to invade Iraq vs. “9/11 was an inside job”
and, most infamously, the inherent dynamics of capitalism vs. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion

Remember Folks:
Saying ALL trans men are "just confused lesbians" is TERF rhetoric.
A trans man being a lesbian, however, is NEITHER transphobic NOR lesbophobic.
TERFs, radfems, and transphobes all deal in black and white absolutes. Don't be like them.

upset and don’t know why? Appease the Brains
lizard brain
questions: do i have food, water, and safe shelter?
solutions: drink more water. drink things with electrolytes. make and stick to a food schedule that works for you. clean your room. if you are in an unsafe situation, talk to someone trusted about creating a plan to get out
toddler brain
questions: have i had enough rest? am i been getting what i need to be healthy? am i cared for? am i frustrated?
solutions: make sure you’re getting enough sleep on a schedule that works for you (people naturally sleep better at different times and need different amounts of sleep. if youre young you will need to sleep more than 7 or 8 hours). make sure you have varied nutrition in your diet. make sure your medications and supplements are working for you and take them on schedule. work on developing a support system that meets your needs. take breaks from things if you feel burned out, even if it’s only for a day
monkey brain
questions: have i had enrichment in my life? am i stuck in a rut? have i had socialization, entertainment, and creativity? has anything challenged me lately?
solutions: limit your time on social media. make an effort to be in new environments - even if its another room in your house or backyard. examine what is or isn’t working in your routine. pick up a new hobby (if you’re more physically active, consider a hobby like writing or coding. if you’re more mentally active, consider a hobby like woodworking, bookbinding, or a sport). write stories, make art, and write analyses (if you haven’t tried original work - focus on that for a little while). try new music. try a new food. build something with legos. consume a new type of media even if you’re not sure you’ll like it (like graphic novels, radio plays, or watching ballet). take on a long term project and set aside time to work on it on a schedule (whether its every day, every few days, or specific days each week)
human brain
questions: do i feel loved? do i feel understood? am i existentially fulfilled? do i have a sense of purpose? do i have a sense of meaning? am i contributing to the lives of the people i care about and are they doing the same for me in return?
solutions: reach out to friends and loved ones, and do activities together, like play a game online or walk in the park. talk to safe people about things that upset you, such as a trusted friend or a therapist, and find steps to improve your mental health. interrogate whether your religious beliefs are working for you, and if they are, make an effort to practice your faith, whether that is attending services (including digitally if they have them), reading and discussing your religious texts, or following holidays. read self help books or blogs from trusted professionals. read about philosophy and interrogate your own understanding of things. learn how to communicate your needs, thoughts, and desires to people who will listen. be active in your community (whether in community service, activism, or getting involved in local politics). adopt a rescue animal. give money to causes you care about. make an effort to learn about points of view and lived experiences that are different than your own. challenge assumptions about how you are expected to live your life and decide whether you want those things or not. express love for the people you care about - through kind words, good acts, crafts, or otherwise. if there are steps in your life you have been afraid of taking, make a plan to take them
if you fulfill higher needs before lower needs, you will still feel bad. if you feel bad and don’t know why, start lower and work your way up. basic needs must be met before moving on healthily

Fandoms don't hate poc. They hate heterosexual characters.
White women sent hate tweets to John Boyega because he didn't like their I Can Fix My Pet White Boy ship and then cried misogyny when he rightfully called them out on it. The erasure of Finn's character is largely ignored, or it's weaponized in their arguments that RoS was bad when what they actually care about is that Reylo got sunk and Kyle died.
White Voltron fans treated Allura like garbage, and talked over and ignored black girls and women who were uncomfortable with their Space Mommy headcanon. Klance shippers constantly erased her, and Sheith shippers either ignored her or performatively shipped her with Lance—a character they hated and loved to tear down, incidentally—to get her out of the way of their precious Wife Husbandry ship. Even now, her appalling death and Montgomery and Dos Santos's equally appalling indifference to it are ignored in favor of whining about fanon ships. (Klance shippers also frequently exotified both Keith and Lance with Korean and Latino stereotypes to make them sexier, incidentally, and created an entire AU around this after Season 7.)
White Starfire fans and Dickbabs fans alike sent racist harassment to Mame-Anna Diop when she was cast in the role on Titans, and fans are more interested in Raven and the pasty Batman characters than in either Kory or Gar (both of whom are played by nonwhite actors). The show repeatedly mistreats and sidelines both of those characters—two actual Titans, the team the show is supposed to be about—and fandom largely ignores this.
A vocal subsection of the Fire Emblem fandom erases the personalities and goals of the PoC from Three Houses, insisting that they are a hive mind who hate all white people and can only be shipped with each other, and ignore the fact that Claude‚ the only non-white main character, is biracial in favor of arguing that he actually hates all white people when his canon goal is to bring people together. This subsection of fandom regularly harasses fans of color who don't fall in line with this.
Brian W. Foster, a white man formerly associated with Critical Role, QRT’d a woman of color who criticized the show’s Campaign Three intro to childishly mock and dismiss her concerns. This led to his 183k+ followers dogpiling and harassing someone who was offering genuine, rational critique, with a wide variety of slurs thrown at her. His apology was half-baked and generic and made no reference to the specific person whom he used his platform to attack.
And Yennefer of Vengerberg is repeatedly erased and ignored in a show where she is unquestionably the female lead. Her actress, Anya Chalotra, received racist harassment bad enough for her to leave social media, and the character is torn down by fandom so that fans can fawn over—you guessed it!—their white faves.
Characters of color are disdained, warped, erased, infantilized, hypersexualized, and conveniently "have no chemistry" with the white characters. The fans of color are talked over, ignored, harassed, dismissed, or otherwise have their opinions used as a cudgel when they fit a white fangroup's narrative.
Fandoms. Hate. People. Of color.

Alright this is rly sad but here goes. I started doing my once-in-awhile bot purge from my followers list. And. I used to be able to just quickly scan and see the bots. They were the ones with default icons and generator-sounding names like "noun-girl-827". And if you weren't sure, you could click on the blog and it would be immediately obvious it was a bot because there's either just bad porn click bait, or nothing there.
Well. This time I had to give up immediately because I got like ten followers down the list and was having immense trouble figuring out who's a bot and who's real. Never ever used to see this but like 5/10 of the first few followers I checked on had just totally empty blogs. It wasn't until I'd already blocked 2 - assuming bots bc empty blogs - that I thought to check if they had any likes. And bam! There it was. All of their user activity.
We have people on this website now who have never reblogged a single post.
Y'all, I'm sure you're sick of seeing "you have to reblog thing" but you literally have to reblog things. That is how this website works. You understand that, right? How do you think the post you hit "like" on got in front of you? It wasn't because you liked enough things and Tumblrs algorithm figured out what you like enough to hand it to you. It's because you followed someone, a human person, who reblogged that post. And it came from another person who also reblogged it.
You are killing this website by refusing to interact with it in the way that makes it better than the other websites you ran from to come here.
Anyway, I'm sure you're all nice people, but I'm not going to play the "bot or not" game if you have an empty blog I'm going to block you.

!! Please Read - Please Help !!
I desperately need help more than ever and am at genuine risk of homelessness.
My partner @sleepy-eyes-system works a full time job and I’m disabled and use a wheelchair and can hardly walk or sit up for long without pain. We used to live on our own but due to covid landlord issues and nearly being evicted so she could rent at a much higher price to another tenant (because she couldnt raise it on us without warning), and the SEVERE decline of my health- We currently live with my extremely abusive parents who are threatening to kick us out and I legit don’t know how much time we have. They are transphobic and queerphobic and “don’t agree with our lifestyle”
We have found a lead on an apartment, but we don’t have any saved as we live paycheck to paycheck due to my medical expenses. We will need around 1k to move in. Please please please help, please share. I am genuinely so scared and literally barricade myself inside my room just to keep myself safe.
I can’t live like this and really want to get better. I never make posts pleading this desperately but we have to be out ASAP. My therapist and care manager are urging me to leave as soon as possible because they see the severe effect it is having on me.
Please help your local disabled black queer person and their partner make it to safety. Please.
my cashapp is: $chubbypixel
my paypal is: https://www.paypal.me/chubbypixel
Please, if you can’t donate please share. I will be forever thankful for your support.

Hello again, friends.
I come to again to embrassingly beg for help. I lost my work at home job last year and we have been extremely struggling. I'm a black, non-binary queer person who is severely physically disabled as well as severe mental illness. I literally cannot stand for more than mintue and can't afford basic utilities or work. It hurts severely to sit up for too long.
My partner @gay-rats-sys is a trans & queer person also with severe mental illness, PTSD, and DID.
I am truly tired. Im so exhausted of fighting. Our poverty situation has been literally extreme, with our power, water, heat and internet non-stop being turned off for payments.
I can't afford my medication, food, or even a wheel chair which I need.
Having to ask for help online is really hard for me. My friends and family know I hate having to need help. I literally would rather go a couple days without food than ask for help.
But I'm so worn down. Disability is taking so long and I only still have my apartment due to the eviction halt.
If you would like to donate anything please do. or just share. Or send resources my way also.
my paypal is: https://www.paypal.me/chubbypixel
my cashapp is: $chubbypixel
I would also like to give a special thanks to @fraydoesstuff. They are completely and utter wonderful and have helped me so much and legitimately are the only reason I've been able to survive this long in these condition.

"Hello, boys and ghouls and non-booooo-nary bookworms! I hope we're all having a spook-tacular Halloween!"
"Natalie it's July."
"Shut the fuck up. Nobody fucking asked. Anyway, as I was saying, tonight's fright-tastic tale comes from the inscrutable racist mind of Coward Billips Lovecraft..."

STOP armchair diagnosing people who have hurt you with NPD and then using that as an excuse to be saneist/mentalist/ableist!! I swear I am genuinely starting to hate abled people…. Like, I don’t have NPD, but wow seeing people constantly attacking other mentally ill people makes me feel violently angry…
Also, what you’re calling “narcissistic abuse” is literally emotional abuse. Your abuse is already valid, you don’t need to slap the name of a highly stigmatized disorder onto it to make it valid.

Why dont Christians observe Passover? The Exodus is a pretty big deal in Christianity?
(Also wanted to know if you knew about mormons magical submarines and glowing rocks)
As far as I'm aware, because it would be active supersessionism. I'd ask a jewish person for more information.
Yes I know about the Jaredite Submarines and the mormon silmarils.

notes regarding Jewish textual tradition:
-our sacred texts include more than just the 5 books of the “old testament”
-we don’t call it the old testament and please don’t call it that unless you’re referring to the christian use of it, when talking about the jewish torah use the term “hebrew scriptures”
-torah = the 5 first books (genesis exodus leviticus deuteronomy numbers) + the prophets and the writings (song of songs, psalms, etc)
-there is also Talmud (mishnah and gemara) which is where conversations by rabbis about how Jewish law should work were recorded (mishna) and further commented / debated on (gemara), and the law codes that later simplified and revised the talmud for better practical use (the shulchan aruch and mishne torah), sages’ commentaries on these law texts, and centuries of responsa to them. these texts are where you will find a lot of the rituals, observances, and rules that Jews follow (so for example the kosher laws, when we say what blessings, how we celebrate holidays, etc). so no, we do not participate in “old” testament ritual sacrifice and looking directly in there for how Jews live is a rather fruitless attempt.
-sometimes the word “torah” can refer to talmud as well, it can refer to any study of holy texts.
-responses and interpretations of Jewish law and scriptures goes on to this day
-Midrash is another type of important jewish texts which are basically poetic or interperative writings about the things in the torah/talmud/etc, comparable to parables, written by various jewish scholars to think through Jewish thought, history, religion, etc. not seen as binding legal texts but rather ways of thinking through torah/judaism. there are ancient published midrashim as well as modern ones.
-Basically understand that Jewish textual tradition goes far beyond what you know of the Hebrew scriptures and “Jewish practice is just Christianity without the New Testament” is terribly inaccurate.
-The idea that “Jews just do ancient barbaric Old Testament rituals” is ages old antisemitic slander.
non Jewish people are ok to reblog this because it is so often misunderstood
