Ben Shapiro complaining about how Glass Onion had "misdirection's" and tricked the viewer is almost as funny as him falling in love with femboy tiktok. This schmuck is so determined to hate anything that critiques his world view that he complains about a murder mystery movie being mysterious. Wait till he learns that poirot was a refugee who faced xenophobia, that miss maple was a single woman with no men to help her- or that sherlock holmes was partially inspired by oscar "homiesexual" wilde and that one of his mysteries dealt with a woman trying to protect her mixed daughter from Victorian racism.

The biggest mystery in Glass Onion is why the hell andi was friends with Miles in the first place, like the shitheads didn't like him until andi made him likeable. Is it just because he was a non threatening white guy, that his "I'm not like other guys" schtick really work andi? I could understand why everyone else would fawn over him because I've met my fair share of Mileses and hated all of them, maybe he was super wealthy and she needed financing (because that kind of man is always from a well off family, no one that stupid and self centered can ever come from poverty, it has to be nourished in a privileged setting )

Everyone complaining about amogus in glass onion clearly seems to forget that during covid they along with the world were obsessed with it. This movie is set during the pandemic and shows us exactly how the rich and powerful showed no regard for it (birdie Jay throwing a massive party, miles inviting his friends over to his private island) while benoit had a mental breakdown from being locked inside for so long and his husband hugh grant is stress baking.

I think the reason people often ship two straight male characters together (beyond queerbaiting, and fetishization) is because male characters are typically written better. The female love interest is just that, a blank object who's only purpose is to be romanced by the protagonist. If you're lucky she may be a #girlboss and use a weapon or be 'smart', but we're never shown what shes like, what would make us or the character love her.

The best friend on the other hand? We know what he likes, whether his warmth and naivety balances out the hard cynicism of the protagonist, we will see how their friendship formed and how they relied on each other. What forms their bond.

So naturally that bond seems more real, theres more chemistry between friends, who do love each other (because platonic love is a beautiful thing), than between to characters who must kiss because the story says so. It's a pity, because I think showing that platonic love is important, especially when you think about how society already shames men for expressing their emotions in any capacity beyond pretty much anger and horny.

It also doesnt help that people are still starved of good queer rep in many forms of media, with queer relationships and characters remaining in the background or being reduced to stereotypes. While it has vastly improved since the peak of tumblr circa 2012, theres still much to be done. *cough* WLW relationships *cough* nonbinary and trans characters even being seen *cough* literally anything beyond two cis white guys *cough* but yeah, thats just my thoughts.

We had health class yesterday and so everyone was just constantly misgendering me, even though I've already come out, and I told my other LGBTQIA+ friends, and we all went into the sewing room and sung along to musicals, and then my art teacher started talking about LGBTQIA+ acceptance, and I'm just so happy that I have awesome friends

its great that you have that you have supportive friends! One of the best things is to be surrounded by people who understand you and can help validate you. 

As for those dickbags in health class, I advise summoning a minor vengeful spirit who will ensure that all of them are constantly plagued with inconveniences and pain such as always having damp socks, stubbing their pinky, never being to wake up from their nightmares etc

Ben Shapiro is not a fucking Nazi. Is he a racist misogynistic transphobe? Yes. Is he a piece of shit? Yes. Does he deserve to be treated the way we treat nazis, by being deplatformed? Absolutely. Listen I fucking hate Ben Shapiro. I hate him. As a trans person I can completely understand and get behind the anger people have towards Ben Shapiro. But Jewish people cannot be nazis. We just can’t. Saying Ben Shapiro is a Nazi is bad for a few reasons:

1. It’s antisemitic. I don’t frankly care if bad things happen to Ben Shapiro because he’s a shit person. He should get what’s coming to him for the shit he’s said. What I DO care about is excusing antisemitism against ANYONE and blaming a Jew for his own persecution by calling him one of the people who persecute him is antisemitic. To be completely clear: Ben Shapiro deserves to get the shit beat out of him for being a racist transphobe, he does NOT deserve to be subject of antisemitic remarks. When you say something antisemitic about one jew it’s opening it up for you to say it about all jews.

2. It really just makes leftists look silly frankly. It’s so painfully obvious that Jews can’t be nazis. Like. I shouldn’t have to explain this.

3. It ignores the fact that even though Ben Shapiro holds many Nazi-esque views on race and gender, he STILL is not allowed to be considered a Nazi by other nazis because he is Jewish, and is even subject to a ton of harassment from actual nazis. This shows exactly how much nazis hate jews, which brings me to my last point.

4. It removes antisemitism from the nazis platform. If a Jew can be a Nazi, nazis don’t hate jews, and that’s fucking obviously not true and is an extremely harmful sentiment for Jews that are not pieces of shit.
