Does anyone else feel weird when people call Duke the “normal one”?

Like… no? He’s just as much as a freak as everyone else in the Batfamily? Tragic backstory and everything. It feels like an excuse to say they included him, without knowing anything about his character.

Comics will be like “oh this person had a totally random event happen to them and it changed them forever so now they fight for justice”

Then like 100 issues later they’ll switch up and be like “oh they were actually chosen by the god of lit people and their entire life was planned from the start and they were always meant to be a freak who fights crime mhm”

Sometimes I think people gloss over how game-changing Tim Drake was to the Batfamily.

He seriously redefined the relationship between Robin and Batman, and the role that Robin plays. Most people’s favorite Robin is unknowingly Tim Drake or a Robin heavily inspired by him. The whole gadgets, tech whiz, and mini detective thing was always more of Tim’s role as Robin. In more newer stories that are coming out where Dick or Jason are Robin, they end up making both of them more like Tim, because he was just so perfect as Robin.

While everyone has their favorite Robin, which is completely justified, Tim was THE Robin.

Becoming obsessed with comic characters means consuming any content about them possible, and then becoming incredibly confused between the different canons.

Could not tell you the amount of times I’ve confused comic runs, animated tv shows, movies, and fanfic canons with one another.

God, this line broke my heart the first time I was watching this movie. I had to pause and stare at the wall for a good minute or two just to recover.

Comics are so funny because a character can look so cunty, then in the next issue they’ve been transformed into a heterosexual man.

I came across the AU idea that Dick Grayson is Richard Parker, and thus, Peter Parker's biological father. There are a few fics where Peter dimension travels to the DC universe and gets to meet his dead father. It is a fun idea, but I have different one.

AU where Peter dimension travels to the DC universe, and the batfam realizes that he is Dick's son, but rather than think he is from another universe, they all come to the conclusion that he is from the future.

It makes sense, after all, the rules of time travel basically boil down to 'don't change anything.' So when Peter is avoiding them and "pretending" not to know them, they just think he is following the rules. (He isn't even really avoiding them, he just has no idea who they are.)

You know how once you have an idea in your head, it take a lot of convince you that your wrong? Same idea here, they are so convinced of their idea that all new info ends up making them surer. Confirmation bias.

So Peter is trying to find a way home while the batfam tries to subtly help him without getting involved in time travel. Hijinks ensue.

Peter once mentions his love of photography and how he used to take pictures of heroes for a newspaper. Everyone looks at Tim and thinks, 'Gee I wonder where he picked up that hobby.'

At one point Peter pulls an assassin move, and Damian is like, 'I taught him that for sure.' (In reality Peter just trained with Natasha and Bucky before.)

When dealing with some issue Peter says something like, "I know a guy with some green angry problems and he taught me a lot about staying calm when mad." Everyone looks at Jason??? (He just picked up some meditation advice from Bruce Banner)

At some point he goes to the manor and everyone is like, 'Hah! More proof! He knows his way around the building!' He doesn't know his way around, his spider sense just lead him to where people are and kept him from getting lost.

He mentions Black Cat once, and everyone comes to the "totally logical" conclusion that Catwoman had a daughter, and that Peter and Felicia also have a weird almost dating thing going on.

Peter has been forced to go to some fancy events with Tony before so he knows how to act at rich people galas, which of course just adds fuel to the time travel theory.

Peter keeps accidentally referencing things that don't exist/didn't happen. Everyone just assumes these things didn't happen/don't exist yet.

As much as I enjoy reading a few fanfics featuring pit madness, I really hate when people use that as the cause of Jason’s issues with Bruce.

Because like… Jason has every right to be pissed. He died and it changed nothing. The Joker still is wreaking havoc, and Batman is still chasing him with a Robin by his side. He was tortured, beaten, then murdered and Bruce still refuses to just kill the Joker. While we the audience can understand why Bruce doesn’t kill, if I was Jason, I’d be livid. He really doesn’t need some magical insta rage thing to justify his crimes or his anger. To me, it just takes away Jason’s agency and makes his character hollow.

Part of the reason he’s so enjoyable is because he is so personal to Batman. He is “Batman’s greatest failure”. A happy child who died to a severe act of violence, and whose death ultimately meant nothing.

Saying the whole reason he is angry, wants revenge, and wants to change Gotham is just because of pit madness is just… boring? Insulting, almost?

I wish there was a scene where the other robins take notice that Tim fights differently than the rest of them. I mean, so does Damian, but that makes sense because he was in the League for his whole life basically. But Tim? Why does he fight like that?

Damian: Its weird. You move and fight like you learned from an assassin.

Dick: Yeah, now that I’m thinking about it, you fight differently than how Jason and I did as Robin. When did Bruce teach you assassin techniques and how to use a Bo staff?

Tim: Oh, no. Lady Shiva taught me.

Dick and Damian: …what.

I think the worst part of the jjk ending was just that it felt like Gege lost interest in his own story halfway.

Like I genuinely believe that he was going to go somewhere with the various plot points he set up, but backed out bc he grew tired of jjk and tried to finish the story as soon as possible so he could move on. There were just so many things left unanswered, and the ending was super rushed.

I’m not even super upset, just really disappointed because I had a lot of faith in the story.
