Why am I more aware of the fact that supernatural/destiel has been trending for over a day than the impeachment trial

Okay, I have acknowledged Supernatural on my blog in a joking way before but I haven't actually talked about it in a serious way. I think that's mostly because it actually makes me mad to see something that had so much potential crash and burn so hard. I kind of just want to get it out of my system so I don't have to post about or think about it again.

I have seen a lot of people talk about this already so it's definitely not groundbreaking, but first thing's first, why did they give us an ending that was so inconsistent with the character arcs they were building? The same ending could have happened within the first couple seasons, so what was the point of carrying on the show for so long? To be perfectly honest, I doubt there were many viewers who watched the show for the storyline as opposed to viewers who were there for the characters. So why kill off two main characters and barely acknowledge any of the other characters that were vital to the story?

Second, Dean and Cas. I'm not going to hide that I ship destiel. I know this may automatically invalidate me disliking the finale for some people, but I believe it's a perfectly valid reason to dislike the ending, if for no other reason than the fact that the show creators were very aware of the existence and extent of people who wanted Dean and Cas to be a couple and the amount of times they would play into that dynamic to keep that viewership. I'm angry they got away with half-assing canon destiel. I loved the confession scene, and I was on my seat waiting for Dean's reciprocation that never came. But, they left it open enough that destiel shippers could interpret it as canon, while the more homophobic members of the audience could dismiss it. I'm mad that they sought to appease those who can't stand the concept of two men being together, rather than taking a stand for what could've been an intensely beautiful love story that would have touched the hearts of every LGBTQIA+ member who rooted for their relationship, or saw themselves in Dean or Cas. I'm mad that the network got away with exactly what they wanted: they can wave off the outrage of people who wanted Dean and Cas to be happy, alive, and together because technically they kept it open ended, and they can have the affirmation of their homophobic audience.

That was a lot of words just to mostly say I'm disappointed with how supernatural ended. I still love the cast, and the specific writers who did care more about the characters than holding viewership. Who knows, maybe there will be a one off episode down the road that resolves most of these issues, but we'll see.

and Tony's assessment went from "Tony Stark not recommended" to him being the one that sacrificed himself for the world multiple times?

or that Tony was called selfish and self centered and was anything but??

I keep seeing moments in the MCU that are supposed to show that Tony grew into a hero, but...

the motivation he had to stop manufacturing weapons was the same motivation he carried when he snapped his fingers. He became paranoid and anxious over the possibility of not being able to protect the people he loved. He bent over backwards trying to fix his mistakes and make the world a better place to live in, and was met with nothing but skepticism at every turn. He didn't grow into a hero.

Every time Dean and Cas are reunited but my heart will go on plays
