I found this extremely interesting. Ashley Mardell is doing a series on the ABC’s of LGBT. This is about those on the Ace spectrum, Asexual, Aromantic etc. There are two videos so far, there will be three in series. For someone who knew very little about this identity I found this very eye opening and wanted to share it with others.

The center’s Youth Services Manager Stephanie Reyes tells the Commercial Appeal she and volunteers developed the idea for The Metamorphosis Project after she found out that Habitat for Humanity in Kentucky was making shipping container homes for veterans. According to Reyes, the center’s Executive Director Will Batts and Operations Manager Elokin CaPece, the center heard from young people in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community about problems of hunger and poverty.

In September, the center bought four unused lots and a private drive for the housing project, which will be used by LGBT youth ages 18 to 25.

Leonardo DiCaprio went home with the gold Sunday night for best actor in a drama film. As he wrapped his speech, DiCaprio took a moment to honor the Native Americans depicted in The Revenant. Twitter loved his speech just as much as the roaring audience, to say the least.

My hope for 2016

I hope that in 2016 owning a vagina doesn’t invite rape. That being a woman without one no longer invites hate. That brown lives are no longer subject to terror and black lives no longer sentenced to death. That this is a year we reclaim the bindi, no longer fear the hijab and help indigenous people reclaim that which was once theirs.To a year in which we say “fuck the binary”, whilst continuing to create more feminists and shut down more meninists. To a year that sees more people wake up to white privilege and  to one that ends the act of cultural appropriation of which we have become so fond.
