B-Movie Horrors & Why I love them.
It’s 330 am & I’m browsing every streaming service, looking for John Wick.
I really wanted to watch it, but couldn’t find anywhere that I could watch it for Free. 2 & 3 are on Netflix, 3 is on Amazon Prime. But nowhere is the the first film. It was in the suggestion on Amazon Prime that a couple of films caught my attention. One (Which I’m going to watch tonight) is called Johnny Wick, I can only…

A tale told in two games..
Guys, it’s here. I was lucky to get it two days early and I’m glad I did. That’s two days extra to to spend in Raccoon City! I’ve put my headphones in, I’ve learnt from my mistake from RE2 & I’m not jumping into hardcore mode straight away. Lets do this!
Holy hell, the intro to this game was awesome. It’s ironic that it mirrors the events happening at this moment with the coronavirus, but it sets the scene perfectly. As in most of my reviews, I’ll try and keep this as spoiler free as I can, but this is your warning here, that this may contain spoilers! But boy, does the game start of good.
In a city gone to hell, it’s nice to see a familiar face, even if it is “Chicken Heart” Brad Vickers.
The dodge mechanic is very useful. If you’ve played the demo, you should have the timing figured out, unlike me! After playing the game quite a few times, you do come to rely on the dodge and you soon learn the perfect timing. It’s a lot more useful than the dodge mechanic in the original game. I don’t honestly thing I used it more than a couple of times in that game. It seems that I’ve forgotten everything from the demo. For the life of me, I can’t remember where the bolt cutters are! I want, no. Need that shotgun! After 30 minutes of exploring every single nuck & cranny in depth. I learnt that the bolt cutters are not where they were in the demo. 30 minutes wasted running for nothing!
Lovely, just met my first Drain Deimos. They’re a lot smaller than they were in the original game. But they’re still as fast. They don’t just attack you, they can now infect you with parasites. I recently learnt that the Drain Deimos are fleas that have mutated through the T-Virus. I’m going to keep an eye on my cat now, as I don’t want to wake up one day with one of those things hiding on my ceiling!
It was too quiet, I knew he was coming & he still made me jump, when he burst through a wall saying STAARS. This isn’t terrifying at all. He was chasing me, so I unlocked a door to a toy shop, which by the way has a Mega-man sale at the moment! And Nemesis is just stood at the window, staring at me. Not Creepy at all!
GAH!! Son of a bitch killed me! Done a perfectly timed dodge, went to shoot him and BAM! No gun equipped. I forgot to equip it after I threw a grenade at him. Ran into an alley, with like 6 zombies chasing me. Dodged one, straight into the waiting arms of Nemesis…
Remember the gem puzzle in the original game? Well, it kinda makes a return here. Except it’s optional this time round. However, completing it does unlock you some really nice goodies.
Don’t leave pets in the sewers!
They grow into horrible things. These things are part of the Hunter series. They’re called Gammas. So do they somehow become Gamma Hunters, or are they failed versions?
First Nemesis fight done. It was very fun. A little after the fight, you visit a familiar area from RE2, which is cool.
There’s a kinda Easter egg to the original Resident Evil 2 at the Police Station. If you start the original game & get to the Police Station without picking anything up, Brad appears as a kind of super zombie, who takes a lot of bullets to kill. Well he makes a zombie-fied appearance at the Police Station and is the one who bites Will Smith.. I mean Marvin. Exploring the Police Station was quite cool. seeing how certain parts of the place appear in RE2.
Nemesis Type 2 is even more terrifying than Type 1. Makes me wonder what Type 3 will be like.. During the boss fight, he just reminds me of a giant cat. Running around the place, like my cat Gimli does at 3am!
Playing as Carlos was awesome. Going through the hospital, I feel like a proper U.B.C.S soldier. Being cautious going through doors, clearing rooms with my assault rifle.Hospitals freak me out at the best of times. But this one has me on edge for some reason. With my headphones on, I’m hearing every little noise and its making me jumpy.Walked into a room that can only be described as something from an Elizabeth Bathory Castle. SO. MUCH. BLOOD. The Claw marks on the wall have me quite concerned too. Zombie in a locker scared the crap out of me. I’m really on edge. I seriously don’t like hospitals.
Just found out what caused the claw marks. A feakin Hunter! I can see now why those Gammas earlier were considered a failure. Towards the end of Carlos’ chapter, I guess there’s like a good little mini game, where you have to hold off zombies for a certain amount of time. Kinda like in Resident Evil 4. I’d highly recommend making sure Carlos’s assault rifle is fully upgraded.
I have this weird phobia of people just standing and staring. I think this is why I both love & hate zombies. I’ve just gone into a room in the hospital and there’s this what really looks like a tall zombie just stood there staring & it’s just creeps me out a little.
The end of Raccoon City.
I’m in the underground research facility and I’ve seen a few, what I thought were naked mutant alien hybrid zombie things. But after exploring another room, I think these might be failed attempts at making Tyrants. They’re slightly faster than zombies & absorb more bullets. If you don’t kill them quick enough, they regenerate. Apparently, they’re not failed Tyrants, but some sort of mutation that the zombies went through, reacting to the T-Virus.
The final fight with Nemesis Type 3 took me a few tries to figure out, but once I did. It was easy (I’d later eat my words & regret saying this, when I played both Nightmare & inferno modes). Finished the game on Normal in 6.5 hours. Overall I have enjoyed this return to Raccoon city. Yes, it was a little short. But it does have plenty of replay value. So don’t let that put you off. Overall for me, the game gets an 8.5/10.
I’ve still got quite a bit of stuff to unlock & collect. So if you’ll excuse me, Jill & I shall return back to Raccoon City, for our Final Escape.
Finishing the game unlocks the shop, where you can buy items, a costume & new weapons. You get points via in game challenges. Since writing my notes for this, I have finished the game multiple times, unlocked everything & gotten the Platinum trophy. It was very fun to play. The one thing I feel was missing was Operation: Mad Jackal from the original game. I hope this will get released as a DLC at some point. If you’re unsure whether to play this or not, due to a lot of hate it has gotten (& doesn’t really deserve). I’d honestly say don’t listen & play this game yourself, it’s one only you can make your mind up to, but honestly, you’ll enjoy your final return to Raccoon City…

Rob Plays: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – Review.
I’m a Star Wars nerd, I’m not going to lie. Put something Star Wars related in front of me & I’ll love it. Prequels? Love em. Last Jedi? Brilliant. Battlefront Series? Couldn’t get enough of them. I have no hate for Star Wars. Even Ja Ja. The theory of him being a Sith had me hooked. I’m a sponge for Star Wars. I just soak it all up.
I think I first heard about this game, from Whats Good Gaming.…

Rob Plays: Code Vein - Review
Rob Plays: Code Vein – Review
As the heading suggest, this IS NOT anime Dark Souls.
From the get go, you can tell this is a different game completely to any SoulsBorne game. Whilst the game mechanics are very similar. For me, that is where the comparison ends. If you look at games like Lords of the fallen & The Surge. Two other games with “SoulsBorne” mechanics, but again are very different. The character creation, is very in…

Rob Plays: Resident Evil 2 Remake - Review.
Rob Plays: Resident Evil 2 Remake – Review.
21 years waiting & it’s finally here!
When I first saw the trailer for this at E3 last year; I, and to put this quite literally, I squealed the house down. I was excited as a child is when they see all the presents on Christmas morning. Resident Evil 2 has been one of my favorite games of all times. I can’t say how many times I’ve played the original and to revisit Raccoon City again with two of…

ROB PLAYS: ASSASSINS CREED: ORIGINS - REVIEW
ROB PLAYS: ASSASSINS CREED: ORIGINS – REVIEW
So, once again I’m a few months late to playing a game. Mainly, because this was a Christmas present. Anyway, I got the God’s editon of my mum for Christmas & boy is it huge. I’ve really been looking forward to playing this, since I’m a BIG Assassins Creed fan. I’ve been a fan of the series, ever since my old house mate Andy shown me the first Assassins Creed video from E3, back in 2006. I’ve…

Hey everyone. So, 2017 has come to an end & what a year for gaming it has been. There’s been lot’s of cool games released this year, from new titles & franchises, to a return to some classic game series. We’ve had an awesome E3 & with a fair few trailers for up coming titles. Hideo Kojima & Norman Reedus left us scratching our heads & leaving us with more questions than answers, with their not 1,…

ROB PLAYS: MIDDLE EARTH: SHADOW OF WAR - REVIEW
In the land of Mordor, where Shadows lie.
ONE DOES NOT SIMPLY RETURN TO MORDOR. Except, this time; we do! I’m so excited to be returning to Middle Earth & Mordor. I haven’t played Shadow of Mordor since it was first released back in 2014. So I’m glad to see that the controls come back naturally & just like riding a bike again, are easy to pick up. The game picks up pretty much straight after where Shadow of War ended, with Talion…

Opening FMV, just WOW!
Another game I’m late to playing. But everyone I’ve spoke to about this game, has highly rated it & I can see why.
The scenery in this game is breath taking.
The opening scene reminded me of the opening scene from The Lion King. Holding a child to the rising sun, so her name; Aloy can be blessed.
The graphics & character design on this game are phenomenal! Little details like Aloy blinking rapidly, because she’s scared or how the light reflects of the water perfectly & the little facial movements the NPC’s do. It’s all done perfectly in this game. The game background reminds me of The Shannara book series, by Terry Brooks (If you haven’t read these yet, go pick them up. They’re worth a read), how the world went back to basics after a great war destroyed everything. But relics of the old world survived. Like old buildings, structures & other miscellaneous things.
IT’S MORE THAN A GAME. IT SUCKS YOU IN FROM THE GET GO!
The game starts of as a 6 year old Aloy. Who is being trained by her adopted father, Rost. Teaching her how to survive in the wilds, hunting machines, harvesting plants & crafting arrows. This game had me mesmerized by the scenery and with the photo mode option, I was taking pictures of everything.
Photo mode is one of my favorite things from this game.
The game itself is set around Aloy, an outcast. Because she has no mother. She was left with Rost; another outcast, to raise as his own. When Aloy is 6, she asks Rost about her mother. She is told that the only way to learn the truth of her mother and who she is. Is if she wins the proving, the elders of the Nora will tell her. This is another game where you’re given a choice of actions during certain conversations & you choose your response based on either a pacifist, antagonist or a smart choice. Each choice has a different outcome & can reflect events further down the game, based on what decision you made with certain characters.
Leveling up is similar to the Far Cry series. You earn ability points to spend in the ability tree. The tree is split into three segments:
Prowler – Stealth
Brave – Attack
Forager –  Health
You can also craft & modify your weapons and armor. By trading with merchants or receiving special loot crates as rewards or purchasing them with metal shards (In game currency), you receive modifications. These can range from anything like improving attacks, better handling of weapons, better damage and so on. Each modifier has a certain percent of how much it will improve your stats. There’s three tiers for everything. Green is common, Blue is rare & purple is very rare.
That rain though!
Anyone who has read any of my previous stuff or watched any of my Youtube videos, knows I love rain in games (And in real life too!). Any game that has brilliant rain or water effects, I fall in love with pretty much straight away & this game does not disappoint.
There’s plenty of side quests to do. All that offer various rewards. For instance, one side quest had Aloy saving a Dad & his Daughter & I was rewarded with a +1 boost to my spear. Whilst other quests reward you with loot crates.
There’s plenty to explore!
The map is pretty huge and can be explored pretty much from the get go. There’s a fast travel system in this game. By resting at bonfires, you can then fast travel to & from any bonfire you have visited & also any village or settlement Aloy has been to. I went to some ruins, which turned out to be the ruins Aloy explored when she was 6. Exploring them again, I found areas I couldn’t get to before, but can now. I found a powercell, that activated a side quest.
GRABBING MY FULL ATTENTION
Normally when I play video games, I either have Netflix or Youtube on in the background. But I didn’t do that with this game. I was fully enthralled by everything in this game. Every sound & sight had my attention 100%. At the time of writing my notes at this point, I was still at the beginning of the game. But, the story so far is really gripping. It had me shouting at the TV a few times. This is my Game of the Year. I don’t think anything will beat this game for me, personally.
At a certain point in the game, you get an item that lets you override & control machines. Some machines let you ride them like horses and once you have a machine overridden, it’ll fight by your side. It’s very useful if you want to use said machine as a distraction. There’s a machine called a Tall-Neck, which is like the radio towers from Far Cry. Climbing these & overriding them will reveal a partial area of the map & interesting points.
SO MUCH TO DO!
At this point, I’m 30 hours into the game. I’ve fully explored everywhere & collected all the collectibles (Which you can trade with merchants for weapons & crates). I’m 51% through the game at this point. There’s a pretty awesome side quest I’ve done. You have to protect a settlement from bandits. A Blacksmith there, gives you a grenade launcher she has been working & Aloy gets to use it in a trial run against the bandits. It was really fun to use.
I’ve finished the game in just under 57 hours. I really enjoyed it. I’ve managed to do everything in game & get the Platinum trophy. I’ve just got New Game Plus to playthrough now & the DLC to complete when it comes out.  Speaking of the DLC, I’ve had a quick look at it & it looks to be set more north of the map. With new machines, NPC’s & challenges for Aloy to explore. Although I’m excited for this. After hearing Rost’s story, I’d prefer to have a DLC exploring this & just a chance to play as Rost. This is definitely my game of the year. If you haven’t played this game yet, you seriously need to! Everything about this game is amazing. I’m probably repeating myself here. But it’s just that good. Everything from the story, to the graphics, to the characters you meet (Their motion capture & facial features are just brilliant), to the musical score. Everything is just top notch.
Overall I’m going to give this game a full 10/10.
Thank you for reading this friends. Let me know if you’ve played it & what your thoughts are on it.
Catch you later friends.

Bit of an update.
Bit of an update.
Hello friends. It’s been a few weeks, since I last posted a blog. So, I’m going to let you know what’s been happening & what I’ve got planned. For the most part, I’ve been busy looking for a new job & sorting through & packing up some of my stuff, for when I move house. So that’s taken up a lot of my time. I’ve also been recording a lot more videos for my YouTube Channel, as well as trying to…

ROB PLAYS: DISHONORED 2 - Review
ROB PLAYS: DISHONORED 2 – Review

Ah, Dishonored 2. A game that I’ve been wanting to play for quite some time, but never got round to playing it until now. I loved the first Dishonored game & couldn’t wait to play through this game. What I really like about the Dishonored games is how unique it is. Arkane really let you choose how you want to play; whether it’ll be stealthy or just go in and just kill everyone that you come…

Break No 3..
OK, it’s 4pm. Time for my third & final break. This time, I decided to stop for a well earned beer. Once again, prices are a bit steep.. £4.50 for a pint. Reminds of the time I went to Wembley with my Dad, to watch Derby County in the Play off finals. It was something stupid like £9 a pint, so my dad & I were sipping this pint slowly, like it was water in the desert.
The cosplay competition was awesome. I didn’t know who a lot of them were, but I’ve found out a few names of the people who cosplayed.
OK, I’ve found out a few names of the cosplayers, this photo above is Kalli Mack Cosplay. She cosplayed Poppy, from League of Legends and came 3rd. My photo’s aren’t the best, as I was sat right at the back. Funny story, I nearly missed the cosplay competition, as I was playing Robot Wars.
Next up, is Cosplayholic. Who actually won the competition with Witch responsible for spring.
Dewnorcosplay, came 2nd, with a cosplay of Anna, from Frozen on Ice. Which was pretty awesome.
Demorafairycosplay won best costume, with Steam Punk Mercy, from Overwatch. I wish I got more better pictures of this, as it was awesome. I’m linking their Facebook pages, so you can check out all the better pictures taken of them.
Kennycosplaystuff won best performance with Championship Zed. I’m not going to lie, I don’t know who this is. I think it might be from League of Legends, but I’m not sure. OK, thanks to Google, I can confirm he’s from League of Legends. Thanks Google.
A few that I knew of, were some characters from Overwatch, an Assassin from Star Wars, an Ascended Sleeper from Elder Scrolls Morrowind & a few more characters from League of Legends. I think the rest were either from Anime or Indie games. They all were really great though. There was this little girl, I think her name was Maggie. She’s quite famous in the cosplay world, she’s 6 & cosplayed this little Eevee & evolved into Sylveon.
I’ve gone and caved.
OK, after seeing all the cosplays today. I caved & bought Ovewatch. I’ve actually written my thoughts about it, here. I also bought Dishonored 2, a Hersheys bar & a Star Wars kinder egg. As I’m writing my notes, I’ve just seen a Team Skull Cosplay. I prefer Team Rocket myself.
OK, so that’s it for Insomnia 61. I’ve made a video of everything I took throughout the day.
And here’s a video of everything I bought from Insomnia 61.
Getting home was pretty uneventful. I fond my way back to the train station easy, about the only exciting thing was that the train was delayed for about 30 minutes or so, which meant I got to play Pokemon Moon for an extra 30 minutes. I can’t complain. I can’t wait for the next Insomnia, I’ll get better pictures next time.
Ah, I forgot to mention. Something pretty awesome did happen. Right at the end of the day. I was getting ready to leave. Like my parents always told me, always make sure you go to the toilet before you leave somewhere. Coming out of the toilet, I had glanced up and saw my friend Jordan. I’ve not seen him in like 6 or 7 years. So to randomly bump into him at Insomnia, was pretty cool.
So, I’m going to end this here & I’ll see you all in my next blog.
Chow.

Break No 2..
So, it’s currently 130pm. One hour to go, until the Cosplay Competition. Writing the notes for this part. I’m sat here eating a Veggie Pizza. £9.50 it cost me. It best be the best Veggie pizza in the world. NOTE TO SELF: It was alrate, probably 6/10..
As I was sat here, eating my mediocre pizza, I might of had a stare down with a YouTuber. I was absently staring into space, as I do. When he caught stared back at me. Now, in the rules of Pokemon, this means he wants a Pokemon battle.. I’ve no idea who he was. He had blue hair, shaven at the back and sides. Anyone know who he is? UPDATE: His name was iBallisticSquid. I overheard two people talking about this. Sorry friend, if you’re reading this. I didn’t mean to stare at you..
As I was walking round earlier, a girl saw my Attack on Titan bag and played the theme song on a Melodica. It was pretty awesome, and caught me off guard. It was sort of like the girl in this video.
Spending more money..
I’ve spent a bit more money too. I bought an Insomnia T-shirt. I was going to get a hoodie, but I’ve been eyeing a hoodie on Amazon I want, so I bought the T-shirt instead. I also picked up two Tomb Raider comics as well. Seeing as both Lara & I are from Derby, I had to buy them. So much stuff to buy and all I have is my little bag. I’ve seen someone with a keyblade. I need this!
There’s so many people Vlogging here. All with proper equipment. It all looks really awesome & all I have, is my little phone (For those interested, it’s a Samsung S7). Walking round, I’ve seen an awesome Garrus, from Mass Effect cosplay. going to see if I can find him again & get a picture (Never did see him again..) As I was sat here, I’ve had an email from Amazon saying my Vampire Knight Manga has come. I wish they sold some Manga here..
That’s it for part 2, not much I’m afraid. But I’ll add some pictures of the stuff I’ve seen. Make sure you come back for part 3, where I’ll talk about the last part of Insomnia & the cosplay competition.
Chow.

OVERWATCH.
Tumblr media
The game, everyone is playing at the moment! I’m not the biggest fan of online multiplayer games. I normally tend to stay away from them. However, I was reading Paris Vakerian’s blog. Like me, she prefers single player games, but she really enjoyed this game. So why can’t I? I saw quite a few Overwatch cosplay’s at Insomnia 61, yesterday & GAME had the Game of the year edition on sale from…

Ready for another adventure?
You know that voice that you get in your head, that questions everything you do? Well, that voice decided to pop in my head, as I was trying to figure out which train to get to Birmingham. My Twitter feed from this morning (26th August, for those reading this at a later date) will show why it’s a bad idea for me to travel alone.
Anyway, needles to say, I got here safe and sound. I made it to about 11-1130ish, before I needed a coffee break. Those who know me, know how much I love coffee. At this point, I decided to make a start on some notes for this blog. Funny thing was, as I was doing my notes. I think I was sat next to another blogger, doing the same as me. So far, in the hour and a bit that I’ve been here, I’ve actually seen a lot of awesome stuff. Straight away going in, I got to meet Pikachu. The Team Rocket in me, wanted to run away with him. I did get my picture taken with him. But as I was on my own, I had to collar a young lad to take a picture for me (Friend, whoever you are, I thank you). After failing to capture Pikachu (Living up to Team Rocket here). I walked round the corner & what did I see? ONLY FRIKKIN ROBOT WARS!! Four of the house robots were here too. Bringing back childhood memories of when my Sister & I used to watch Robot Wars on BBC2.
Seeing as I failed to capture Pikachu earlier, I wondered over to the Retro Zone & did manage to capture a wild Pikachu Gameboy Color. I’ve been after one of these for a while. I’ve had an urge to play the original Pokemon gold & Silver for a while now & finally I can!
I also picked up Jurrasic Park: Operation Genesis. A game I used to love to play, when I was a lot younger. If you’ve never played this game. It’s basically Theme Park World/ Roller Coaster Tycoon, but with Dinosaurs too. Your objective is to build the best dam park you can. But, the dinosaurs can escape their enclosures & you have to get in a helicopter, tranquilize them & get them back in their pens. this game was amazing at the time & I hope nothing has changed now. So much good stuff to buy, I just wanted to buy everything. Next, I found this little Japanese stall. It was called Kantan. They sold Japanese food, candy & drinks & Plush toys. It was a cool little store. I bought two cans of soda. A Pikachu apple drink & a Jigglypuff, that I think was peach. Because I spent over £5, I got a free milk candy sweet & a little card. Everytime I (Or you) spend £5, you get a stamp and every few stamps, you get a free gift. Which is pretty cool. I’ve seen quite a few awesome cosplays so far. The cosplay competition starts at around 230pm, so I’ve still got a bit of time to have a look. Somewhere here, there’s a chance to have a first look at WWE2k18. As a wrestling fan, I’d like to have a look at this. When I was in the Retro zone, there’s loads of retro consoles & arcade machines & even a kiss pinball machine. I know where I’m going to waste some time for a bit.
Glancing over at the other blogger. I’ve noticed that she’s written a lot more than me, haha. I bet her blogs going to be a lot better than this.
Ok, that’s it for part 1. Come back for part 2, to find out what I got up to next at Insomnia & what else I spent my money on.
Chow.
