would anyone actually be interested in a discord server geared towards the non-cis men in games dev . it's an idea I've been rolling around in my head to gather some weight for a short while and I think it would be nice to have a space for everyone to get support from people like them . and it might be a little motivational to not constantly feel like you aren't welcome in the field

obviously there's no way to police who joins and who doesn't, it would just be geared more towards supporting non-cis men to gain confidence and community

since it's almost new year, I was thinking back to the start of this year and I remembered my biggest problem was understanding myself.

I was convinced I had different "masks" or "personas", and that I switched them to adapt to situations or people, as a behaviour change. I struggled to identify myself as a person and I had no idea who I was behind those "masks", I thought was a nobody.

while I was trying to figure myself out, I tried to do some "moodboards" of my "masks" to maybe understand something.

thinking back on it now, it's really funny since I discovered I have osdd/a dissociative disorder. it surely explains a lot!!

How I shift to my drs with ease.

I figured I'd talk my ish about shifting and how simple it is because what the helly??? 😩 it's not as hard as people may make it seem.

Over the years, especially on shifttok in my opinion i feel like people make it seem like the so called 'methods' are the keys to make you shift when the key isn't nessecarily that. It's can be a tool but its not a key, believe it or not the the key is actually you!!

Those guided meditations, shifting methods ARE TOOLS.

You don't have to count to 100, lay in a starfish position and review your whole script every second of the day & memorise every intricate detail to shift. In fact you don't really need to do anything if you don't want to...

I shifted to my 2nd modern aot dr a week or two ago - with no script made just a few pics in a pinterest board & shifted to my other aot dr a month ago (although both times it was for like a millesecond) it purposely happened so a win is a win!!

HOW I DID IT. . . .

Once I realised that shifting is so incredibly easy, i let go of all those methods I forced myself to do partly because I couldn't be bothered..im lazy in hopes of waking up in my dr, I now know and don't hope.

i usually shift at night so i get into bed, think about my dr and accept that im actually there. it's done. I know im going to wake up in said place (in my case it was nyc)

sometimes my thoughts get the best of me, saying "If your there why are you-" or "are you sure you can do it-" i just laugh it off because i know it isn't true. my subconscious knows im a master shifter, i dont have to keep repeating myself because a person who's mastered something doesn't question. They just know...so why am i questioning myself? there's no need to stress.

ask yourself questions like - "Why am i so good at this?" "How do i shift on every try? thats crazy. and i hardly do anything too. minimal effort." Instert Kamala Harris' laugh fr. feel free to giggle because it's too easy. You keep winning over and over again!

Wake up in your dr.

That's quite literally it. Now go serve face in your dr babes!

I need to rant about my friend somewhere she won't see it so sorry sideblog you're about to be inflicted with my frustration.

Her getting a girlfriend has changed her entire personality drastically and it's now super fucking annoying. She either needs a dedicated 'online' personality or she needs to sit back and have some damn critical thought for once. She says teehee unironically . In real life . in place of actual laughter . She talks in an uwu voice because she thinks it makes her seem cutesy and feminine . she does the 👉 👈 pose when I call her out on her disregarding my boundaries . sorry you're turning 17 this year you're PISSING ME OFF. you are going to legally be able to drive in July and you're acting like a child

"please stop talking to me in that voice" is a boundary and you're disregarding it because you want to seem oh so cute and silly

she wants me to meet her girlfriend and I'm either going to meet some actually decent person who just enables this or someone who acts the exact same and either way i don't particularly want to be subject to the both of them in the same room because I will lose it.
