This illustration is based on Nausicaä. I think she’s the strongest and bravest Ghibli character. Years ago, when I read the manga, I wanted to become like her. She’s kind, brave, and independent; she’s an idea that has transcended this world. But now I realize she’s also the loneliest Ghibli character.

She’s also the character who loses the most: her father, her village, the Ohmu, Lord Yupa, Teto, and her adoptive child, the Giant God Warrior. And she has to put aside all her sorrow and move on because the whole world relies on her. ❤️‍🩹 The weight she carries on her shoulders is way too heavy. I hope she finds happiness.🥺

This is the book I'm currently reading. I already have experience with drawing manga but there is always more to learn. That's why I'm very interested in advice and tips from professionals (especially from Japan).

Compared to usual "How to draw" books that were published in the west, books like these focus on valuable background knowledge (like storytelling, developing characters, coming up with ideas and themes, story structure, page layout / paneling and much more that is important when drawing manga).

I just started reading but I feel that this book will be very insightful. I like the clear structure: One page with detailed explanations and one page with an simplified summary for every topic (which is very useful for later review).

Plus, I'm not only learning about manga techniques but I also learn how these things are expressed in Japanese (which expands my vocabulary). It feels great when two hobbies come together!

ちびまる子ちゃん役でお馴染みの声優さん、TARAKOさん＆さくらももこ先生追悼イラスト。

本当はこの線画だけ、さくら先生がご逝去されたときに描いたもので、何故か色塗りできずにいたものですが、大変に残念ながら、TARAKOさんもご逝去されてしまったということで、なんとか形にしようと塗りました。

さくらももこ先生のイラストはどれも細かくて、塗るのに大変難儀しました(^^;

さくら先生、TARAKOさん、天国でどうか楽しくお過ごし下さいませ。

ついにファントムの作ったオペラが初日を迎えた。主役はクリスティーヌ、相手役は密かにすり替わったファントム。ここでお互いへの愛を歌う【Point of No Return】という曲がとてもかっこいい。ラブシーンなのに、火花を散らすような激しさ。クリスティーヌもファントムに魅かれてるのが感じられてわくわく。

とかろが、クライマックスでファントムがクリスティーヌの名を口にした瞬間、なななんとクリスティーヌはファントムの仮面をカツラごとをはぎとってしまう。悲鳴が飛び交う中、ファントムはクリスティーヌをさらってシャンデリアを落下させる。

With policemen having secured the opera house, watching for the Phantom, The opera created by Phantom opened its first day, with Phantom secretly switched with the actor. The song "Point of No Return", in which they sing about their love for each other, is very cool and romantic. Even though it is a love scene, they both look like fighting furiously while they are really attracted to each other.

However, just as the phantom sings Christine's name at the climax, Christine suddenly takes off the phantom's mask and wig - no way... Amidst screams, the phantom takes Christine away and made the large chandelier to fall.
