hello! As a new follower, I have no clue who these pretty characters are! more SVSSS stuff for y'all, although this is new.

I've been toying with the idea of writing a little ditty I wrote a little of a thing, where SY gets dumped into PIDW as himself, just a random NPC with a dutiful little System just doing its best. this is my design for him, including his spiritual weapons. more details below the read more.

SY is definitely a fuerdai (second-gen rich kid) but he's not exactly the healthiest. He's smart and graduated college, and in this universe he's a celebrated published author, like in this post by @/princessdave (should I tag them? hurk idk, lemme know?). The rest of his family is famous in some way because of their wealth, but he's basically a hermit. He dresses well because he can afford to, but he'd happily live in rags and squalor so long as he has some food, a bed, and trash webnovels to read.

After he accidentally dies after cussing out Airplane's shitty cliffhanger ending, SY finds himself in a predicament. The System he first encounters is the System from canon: a rude bitch trying to put his soul into SQQ. SY nopes out of there, cites bodily autonomy, pitches an unholy fit, and somehow, someway, there's an error. Either SQQ didn't die during his Qi Deviation, or it's too early in the timeline and SY can't do any body snatching! Hallelujah!

The OG System, having lost its Host and overall purpose, discards SY like yesterday's news. He's left behind in the empty space, and is tentatively approached by this new System. It tells him that he can't go back to his body since he's dead as a doornail and offers to pop him into the PIDW universe. SY's millenial ass just goes "meh, fuck it, we ball" and he's thrown into PIDW as himself.

The new, Benevolent System accompanies SY, and attaches itself to him. It explains the B-Points system and promises to be helpful, immediately giving SY 100 starting B-Points and opening the System Store. SY takes full advantage, and uses his 100 points to the fullest in adjusting his body to survive and thrive in a Xianxia setting like PIDW. He then asks where in the plot he was dumped into the story, and the System tells him. (Haven't decided on whether to start pre-PIDW storyline, or at the SVSSS storyline start, either way, it works.)

Clearly a scholar more than anything else, SY immediately hyper-fixates on writing the best bestiaries across the PIDW-verse, so the fashion he buys from the System Store is all modest at best, although he'd splurged to get a Qiankun pouch. He'd also vehemently argued with his System to be able to justify keeping his hair as short as possible ("if it's too long it's just going to get in the way when I study monsters! I don't have the time to care for it!")

SY focused his cultivation on useful things, and the System responded accordingly. He gained skills with Alchemical Arts, Formation (Array) Arts, Talisman Arts, Beast Cultivation, and Martial Arts focused on the shortsword and the fan. The System manifested itself into SY's fan, to provide an easier interface during his travels, and his first mission led him to find his spiritual shortsword.

Yù Shòu Shī Rèn 驭兽师刃 — The Beastmaster's Blade

A legendary weapon created by a powerful cultivator who was both a master of beasts and a warrior. This cultivator forged the weapon after making a pact with a heavenly demonic beast, granting them the ability to call upon creatures for assistance in battle. The blade was crafted using beast materials—the fang of a Heavenly White Snow Dragon* and the claw of an Abyssal Flame Ghost Hound**—imbuing it with both spiritual and physical properties. * Tiān Bái Xuě Lóng (天白雪龙) ** Shēn Yuān Yàn Guǐ Quǎn (深渊焰鬼犬) In combat, the Beastmaster's Blade allows SY to summon beasts, control their movements, and enhance his own combat abilities by drawing power from these creatures. The blade has a secondary power, allowing SY to bond with a specific creature and form a partnership that amplifies both SY’s and the beast’s abilities. Depending on the bond strength, the blade can allow SY to temporarily transform into a more beast-like form, gaining enhanced senses, strength, or agility. It can also allow SY to merge his consciousness with a creature, enabling them to fight as one. The blade can also be used to command and direct beasts, issuing silent commands that the creatures obey, making SY an unstoppable force when surrounded by beasts in combat. The Beastmaster's Blade is a powerful and mystical weapon designed for a cultivator who can control, summon, and bond with beasts. Whether used to fight alongside beasts or to subdue them, the weapon emphasizes mastery over nature, the power of spiritual connection, and the balance between destruction and harmony. It is a weapon for those who understand that true power comes not only from force but from the deep bond between a cultivator and the natural world.

Rén Cí Xì Tǒng Shàn 仁慈系统扇 — Benevolent System Fan

The fan itself is an elegant yet powerful weapon. It is a spiritual and otherworldly artifact, not only physically capable of defending SY, but also carrying the ability to influence the world through the System’s applications. It allows SY to prevent conflicts or resolve disputes with missions and Scenario Pushers. The System helps SY grow and influence the world around him in an active way, molding what was once a garbage story with solid roots into something worth reading. Unlike other systems that may have less than benevolent intentions, SY’s System encourages him to grow emotionally and reach self-fulfillment while enhancing the story. Missions from the System push SY to develop in the PIDW world, and all outcomes result in some type of reward for SY’s efforts, whether it be with behind-the-scenes insights, improved cultivation abilities, stronger fan powers, or even a free-pass deus ex machina. In combat, the fan focuses more on subduing rather than killing unless strictly necessary, using gentle yet powerful techniques that leave enemies incapacitated, cured, or redeemed. The fan boasts the ability to change the direction of the flow of energy, as well as wind-based powers, representing the System and SY’s will to shift the flow of the disastrous PIDW world around him.

TAGGING SYSTEM

I created this section in Google Docs for every single one of my muses. Below is a link to the symbols I used.

ARC VS VERSE : every single character gets both an arc and a verse that is undecided. Since you can search by both ARC and VERSE, I felt this would make the most sense. A verse is the overreaching section, so for example, SUPERNATURAL is a show, so it gets its own verse. Now for an ARC, I would be putting different sections in for, say, I want Hope to have a soulless arc, then that would be where that would go. Or say I want Hope to have an arc that she has her humanity off, it would fall under the arc section. It's not a big enough theme for me to make it a whole verse.

I can use the tag of no humanity in an arc repeatedly. Combined with, say, searching my Queen of Nola verse and the arc of no humanity, it should give you all of the information written about her no humanity time in said verse. Above picture shows you how I format my verse posts.

CHARACTER ID: This is an overreaching tag that covers pretty much anything written by me for that character, so answered asks, interactions, headcanons, drabbles, etc. all fall in line with this. You could also add it to your visage and musing tags, but I personally don't find that helpful.

This is an example of my tags underneath a reply of mine. More will be explained soon about what everything else means.

This is what I used to tag all the different types of calls I make. So someone can click on, say my meme call, and get to like a call for them to be sent memes.

Any reblogged content went here minus the ask memes, but you could very well put ask memes there as well.

This section is anything related to my set up. Now, I have two different blogs (more to come on why I do that later). This kind of shows you how I break things up.

The extra section is really anything that I couldn't figure out where it might go. So promos, scheduled posts, dash games, etc.

This one feels very self-explanatory. Anything that I personally want saved goes here

This section is anything created by me or something I agree with strongly. Graphics are different than my adventures in ps. The first for me is like character edits, while the second one is maybe asking for opinions or showing people what I am excited for.

I'm not a huge talker in the tags person. However, I do find a few things helpful to point out like when something might be triggering, if one should look at a link I put in my replies, making sure that people know to send the whole prompt not just the symbol (in case it takes me a moment to get it done and I need to know what the instructions for the meme was to prevent deleting a meme because all I see is a symbol or word and therefore have no idea which meme it is attached to. Sending the whole sentence is helpful and doesn't require a two-step process like asking for the meme and the link simultaneously. It is also beneficial to tell people to tell me what muse things are for as well, so that way I am not playing a guessing game.

The potentially triggering topic for me is an overall tag for triggers. I do also break it down into say " clowns tw " as well just for blacklisting purposes. However, the blanket tag covers so that say I forget someone is triggered by something and I forgot to tag it, there is a possibility that this might save it a little bit.

This section of tagging is where I get an overview of things. So, say you aren't looking for any muse's writing in particular that you want to see, but you want to see if we are a good fit to write together. Then you might want to see all my writing, which has answered asks, headcanons, drabbles, and interactions in it. Or maybe you only want to see thread interactions, so you'd go to all replies.

Since there might be a lot of tags (depending on if you are a multiuse or not), I recommend using a Google Docs or a draft post to hold all of your tags for easy keeping.

FORMATTING

The two dividers are from two different sources. The thin one was made by theresourcedhunted, and the thick one was made by dividing by underesources. However, I edited it to remove many of the fancy pieces as I wanted something a tad simpler.

To make my gifs centered without editing them, I use THIS blank space / image.

❝ ❞ is what I use for my dialogue around spoken words. ● A tutorial on making adding coloring to your replies faster without going into the HTML, but a single time. You could always use the few colors tumblr has built in for simplicity.

There are about 4 to 5 spaces between my dialogue and the rest of my text. I'm still trying to figure out what I like personally in that department.

To simplify things, if you use a Windows computer to hotkey and streamline some things, I use aText, a Microsoft Store application. All I have to do is enter a specific combo of letters and words to get a unique key or spacing that I set up myself.

【 ✉️ 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄 】 : this is for any sent messages by my muse. Again, the fancy font is the same one I used in my pinned post. You could use fancy emojis and things. I colored the text of the name and bold it. The actual text is in a small-sized font along with regular normal Tumblr font.

【 📩 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄 】 : this is what I tend to use for messages that my message receives. So, if I am writing a reply that my muse is talking to their friend, but my muse's mother texts them, and I want to show it, that is how I do it.

I personally like to link in headcanons in my replies and things for others to read if needed, share links to songs that might be heard in a reply, or pinterest links to images of maybe the muse's style that is relevant to a reply. I mentioned this in my rules so others know that there will never me links to malware or anything else and is always in good faith.

My formatting doesn't really change for headcanons. I use bolded fonts for the header of each headcanon. Then, bullet points might make it easier for others to find information and read.

every post that I make that isn't a starter tends to follow the same spacing that I mentioned being between my dialogue and using the same bolded font that I always use and was linked above.

Alright, here is a tip. If you have several tags and want to narrow down, say, a certain verse that has headcanons about it, as long as you know what the tag names are, you could enter both tags separated by a + in the middle to get all the posts between two tags (and possibly more, but I have not checked that out). So, if you are really organized tag-wise, then you can easily filter things out.

my mostly calm(er) reaction and reflection post on the magnolia awards nomination list 🥀

the quote above is one of my favorites from the show and i feel the truth to it now more than ever. i have already posted about my initial rage and that hasn’t changed, it’s not okay and will never be. i’m mostly a pacifist but i’m not a doormat. there is a reason why the WOF account or the other nominees like the director and “best actor” have not posted their thanks as soon as the nominations were out because they are guilty. it speaks volumes and they should be ashamed of themselves. if you look at the most recent post for WOF weibo account, they are being torn apart. not to mention blog accounts and the same audience who supported the drama calling them out.

this should not be a surprise to those of us who watched the show and understood it’s meaning. because this is what the show thought us, to not stay quiet when there is injustice. much like how wei ruolai said that he is ashamed to be in this mountain. how he was not afraid to leave his dream and literally walk back to Jiangxi for what he believes is the right thing to do. i don’t think you will fully understand the hurt, this is not just me being a yibo stan but someone who saw myself in Wei Ruolai.

the drama was about how the youth can change the world. the reality, and what just happened is proving otherwise. i’m sharing this quote here cause it perfectly explains the problem:

"If the youth are strong, the country will be strong" but the truth is the youth are strong, but you don't recognize it.

this incident exposed the problem with these acting awards. i daresay, not only that, but with other industries where everything has to be about seniority. which in turn makes the younger generation feel burned out and contribute to wanting to lie flat. because what’s the point if the game is rigged. the CCP have always given importance to the youth. often inserting the message of why you all should have kids now because they are the future. they are important blah blah blah — but this simple award? you can’t even show fairness? Wang Yibo is the poster boy for CCP’s propaganda on how an upstanding Chinese Youth should be. He has been in the most recent years, we all cannot deny that with how prominent he is showing up in nationalistic programs tied to the “youth”. So if someone as popular/well-known/talented as WYB can’t be treated fairly. can’t be rewarded with his efforts, then what more for a normal citizen?

WOF team and Magnolia Awards really opened a can of worms here. It goes deeper than nominations and a fandom. In a way, it’s good how this exposed the corrupt system and contributed to why people are so angry. The tag for him continued to stay on top because a lot of netizen can relate, even if you didn’t watch it, i bet they had something to say. It’s been happening for some time but definitely is magnified because of Yibo’s popularity and it made them look really bad.

I am aware of Yibo’s chances with the history of older nominees when it comes to this Awards show but I am confident that he had a good chance of getting it. What made me livid was Wang Yang taking the nom. You can slice and dice it however you want, but Yibo carried that show. He is the main lead. The story is about Wei Ruolai. If Yibo didn’t get it i will still speak up but with the betrayal, not only to him but also the screenwriter — i can’t stay silent and be the “rational” vic that most of you are familiar with. WAR OF FAITH is still one of my favorite dramas with how it affected me and is largely contributing to why i’m reacting the way i do.

I’m not gonna defend anyone. Only Wang Yibo. Honestly. Fuck them all. I watched the show and supported it for WYB — everyone else don’t matter. I won’t post any hate message on their accounts but they get no love from me either.

So now let me get to the good part. Because no matter how hurt we all are, there is still a lot of good that came out of this. The silver lining(s) if you will.

1. Everyone who said that WYB has some backers can fuck off. This proves that he hasn’t. He has no background. There is no big-name pulling the strings for him. He is where he is because he is WANG YIBO. His name alone is enough. WOF got the green light because Wang Yibo’s name was on it. Now more than ever, it is proven that he is where he is because of who he is and what he can bring to the table.

2. We are reminded once again that producers are not our friends. LOL. if you know, you know. it’s all business. So don’t kiss their ass.

3. The fact that he trended #1 for hours, and still is right now at number 4 is proof of how great he represented the character of Wei Ruolai. People now recognize him as an actor who deserves a nomination and a win. The general public are now on his side. He is the underdog and there is nothing more that we want to see than a beaten down person rise above it and win. In a way, this creates more buzz and anticipation for his next movie that will be out. 🫶🏼

4. This has really set him apart from his peers of idol actors who crossed over to being professionals. He did it so effectively and in a short span of time. What happened is sad, but he won people’s hearts and those who already do stan him are more geared up to support him in the future. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

I’m happy for WOF’s nomination. If i’m being honest, it was a sure thing. I’m proud WYB was part and led this amazing drama to what it is. He will continue to give us more excellent works because that is his gift to the audience who always support him.

In the next coming days, if WYB or most likely YBO puts something out, that’s what i’m gonna follow. The most i will do is congratulate WOF, but the others? no thank you.

I agree with your safety posts and appreciate what you’re trying to do but when you judge people for how long it takes them to get desperate, it comes off as kink shaming and icky. Sorry if this is mean, just giving you another point of view!

Hi anon! I was trying to figure out how to respond to this because I was looking at my posts so I can see what you mean but I'm not really judging anyone on how long it takes them to get desperate. I have not mentioned a thing about it and if I did, I can't see it and I apologize for not seeing it.

My safety posts are only focused and solely focused on making sure, people don't go behind their limits because from what I've read, they tend to really go over it. Again, I'm only here to remind people to hold safely. That means don't hold for long hours and don't drink more water than what you're recommended.

I've heard holding for longer than four to five hours is bad for you but I've heard about people who hold from afternoon to midnight. Sometimes into the next day. I have no way of knowing if that's true or how their body handles that. I'm just here to educate young adults and first timers trying this kink out on what to do so they don't damage their urinary system.

I don't mean to kink shame anyone. I'm here to enjoy the kink all the same and my bladder is wonky too. I know that some people take long to get desperate. I didn't think I had to mention that.

ive been reblogging a lot of posts with some very angry tags and i feel like i should explain myself and my thought process when it comes to endos just because i like to know the stance of who im following or reblogging from and i imagine a lot of you will as well

i very firmly believe that endos are one of two three things.

A. a traumagenic system with really bad disassociative amnesia to the point where they dont know its there and dont 'feel traumatized' (for lack of better phrasing)

B. a singlet that has a different disorder with symptoms that mimic did.

EDIT: there is a secret third option. recently i came across some resources and links to plural things. i did read it because it wasnt using plural and system interchangeably and i figured it would be a good place to start. so to be a SYSTEM you need trauma, but to be plural specifically theres a lot of reasons for that. to my understanding (feel free to respectfully correct me) plural doesnt mean 'alters' as alters are a system exclusive thing. plural can mean different 'subpersonalities' or states of mine, not necessarily different fleshed out full identities. some people name and give pronouns to these different 'mindsets' (for lack of a better word) but that doesnt mean that theyre claiming that they have alters

so. option C: they are the secret third option: not a system and not claiming to be a system and should not be attacked for naming their different sub-personalities for their own whimsical needs

(this part is about any nontraumagenic system who is not willing to accept theyre not a system) the thing is, nobody wants to be a 'faker' and when someone looks at something that you firmly believe to be a core part of you and says that this thing that, again, you believe to be undeniable and goes "ohhh you dont have that!", youre gonna get hella fucking offended and defensive right? i get it, nobody likes to be 'wrong' about themselves but a lot of endogenic systems and pro-endo systems need to do a lot of research on DID

Despite how fascinating the concept is I often forget that Type Moon's version of Earth has "layers" to it. Something I haven't really talked about since my posts on the FGO anime and movies.

For those shows (or even other Fate series) it's often put in broad terms. You have the modern human world and you have the "reverse side of the world".

The "reverse side" is a plane of existence all the gods, dragons, fae, and other beings escaped too as the "age of gods" came to an end. However, as I learned from Lost Belt 2 today, the earth actually has multiple layers.

Many "textures" or it may be more accurate to say that it "used too".

Take this break down Da Vinci and Goredolf are giving in these shots here. The way they word it makes it sound like the 9 Realms (possibly more since the exact number is actually debated IRL) were a type of pocket dimension.

Or, going with their terminology, it was a "texture". Ancient Scandinavia was wrapped up in multiple textures that encompassed the Nordic world as fashioned by Odin after he slew Ymir.

And before you ask, the Abrahamic God does exist in Fate. So yes, THE GOD, is real in Type-Moon however so were the pagan gods. The key difference there is that the pagan gods evolved alongside a civilization.

It's true that human belief and worship can alter or even birth something in Fate but everything that is later known as a god, hero, or monster was a real thing at some point.

A great example of this is Sasaki Kojiro. Although he himself admits he's a fabricated heroic spirit he also does explain that either his blade, a rival to Musashi, or a man who could cut a swallow did exist. It's entirely possible all three did. What makes Sasaki a fabrication is that he's a spirit born from the amalgamation of those legends into one myth.

Or, as another example, take these very images I'm using.

In the Fate universe Ragnarok DID happen. However, it correlated with a real world event of an eruption of Mt Katla. The real and the mythological are intertwined because the physical and the metaphysical shared the same space in the Age of Gods.

Earth was a tapestry of magic that shaped the world alongside it's human inhabitants. And when that age came an end the metaphysical became a separate plane detached from the physical world.

Yet, even then, the mythical beings aren't necessarily gone. Even beings that should be dead like Odin still influence a few events in FGO from that plane.

And before you ask how that's possible, do keep in mind that the Greek gods were once alien space ships that found earth. Ships that were destroyed by another alien entity (the white titan) and then appeared later as the Greek Olympians.

What's the point of this rambling? None. I just wanted to talk about a fascinating concept. You don't see it too often.

Perhaps the best example I could give that many would understand in 2025 is the UG and RG from TWEWY. The universe is also comprised of "planes" however the angels of that series compare it to a radio.

You "tune" to a plane with the UG being below the RG. The "underground" and "realground". There's also the space between where noise exist and higher planes where angels reside. Hell, even parallel worlds can be "tuned" into for higher beings.

Of course, the Counterforce (or possibly a higher power) in Type-Moon has a very hard lock-down on that type of travel. Worlds that lead nowhere are "pruned" while exceptions like female Musashi or Chaldea are viewed as threats or glitches.

Humanity also tends to limit its own access since the physical world is shaped by how well they understand it. The more science progresses the more magic will fade further isolating the modern human era from the other "textures" and worlds of their universe.

Dean shrugged. "I'm not super sure, actually. Jersey had been upset about something this morning, but I don't know what." He stood up and grabbed the journal that had been laying on the bed stand. "He didn't write it down either. During our live, though, we had a raging headache, because of Hyune fronting and leaving so much during practice." "I knew something was going on during practice!" Felix exclaimed. "Jersey is rarely that critical about foot work." First things first(spoilers for spiderverse/spidergeddon and comic noir storyline) this is a long post but you’ll have fun I promise. As always feel free to engage with the post, I’d love to hear different theories/opinions/conclusions on this in the tags or comments. Sorry it took so long!

Now I’m gonna say something morbid:

Spider Noir’s death in the comics was hilarious

Jarring, but hilarious. Like why’d he grab him like that. I physically had to shut off my iPad and go for a walk after this scene when I first read it.

But to my point, you know how some people say your birth mark is how you died in your last life?

Well post resurrection we might have A, B, and C:

(Now before anyone gets on me for, why would you do that/even think of this? In my defense, I couldn’t remember where he was grabbed, it’s been a while since I’ve read these. I thought it was gonna be on his back or shoulder and I’d give him a burned on handprint going all ‘gripped you tight and raised from perdition’ which is cool, fun, sexy, and conveniently hidden. Then I reread it and it’s basically a permanent face palm. Also pretend his face looks the same in every one. Couldn’t decide on hair either lol.)

Either way post resurrection Peter should have physical after effects of his resurrection. Either lines all over his body from having the life force sucked out of him or birth/burn marks on his face. I think this would be hilarious, angsty, and interesting. I also hate when people are just resurrected willynilly. LET THE TRAUMA OF DYING AND COMING BACK TAKE ITS TOLE. Especially if it’s multiple times.

In MK: Midnight Mission they, pretty recently, came up against this problem with the MK system being resurrected over and over again and facing really no visible consequences. But then we find out, there isn’t really a limit(ignoring the whole Khonshu imprisonment), but eventually mentally, there will be nothing left to resurrect. And the mindless mummy warrior creatures we meet from Khonshu’s ‘world’ were old avatars that wasted away from resurrections. It explains the alterations and perversions of the MK system’s mental conditions, because they are actively being altered and changed, to be brought back, by a multidimensional creature that doesn’t care about their mental health/state(that Khonshu takes advantage of, knowing what he’s doing). Sound familiar?

Now, time to get philosophical. Ship of Theseus.

What is it? Ship of Theseus is an ideological/philosophy problem about a king, Theseus, who saved the children of Athens from king Minos and the Minotaur and then sailed his ship to Delos. Then each year Athenians would sail that same ship from Athens to Delos in celebration of the myth. Over time they kept replacing parts of the ship for maintenance purposes, till every plank had been replaced, so they could still make the voyage. Now the question is, is it still the same ship? At what point did it stop becoming that original ship? And does it matter?

Applying this philosophical exercise to resurrection, with what we know above, we can get an interesting dialogue going. But, with that said, it’s important to keep in mind that the resurrection process in this context with these multidimensional gods isn’t explained with enough detail to really take it apart. Like what happens to the soul? Is the brain damage we know Marc has from repeatedly dying and his brain repeatedly going without oxygen or is it from just interacting with a multidimensional god? Is the spider god comparable to Khonshu? Is the spider god even real, if not what or how was Peter actually resurrected? And if it is real, what is its main goal? At least with Khonshu we know he has an agenda. What does it want, what’s its end game?

But let’s get into it anyways.

Now, you may be wondering, why do I keep saying multiple resurrections in regards to Spider noir? I am so glad you asked! I believe Peter's initial spider bite killed him. He had to go to the afterlife to actually see the spider god. That’s why we really only see them three times, at the initial power conception, Peter’s resurrection, and when Peter goes to the ‘underworld’ in the 2020 run. We see something similar with Khonshu in Midnight mission, while he’s in space jail, Marc can only see him during resurrections or while he’s dead. And while we’re comparing the MK system to spider noir, when Marc got his powers, he basically had to die first. That was implied to be his first resurrection. So this wouldn’t be a one off situation. We have some rules.

What we don’t see with Moonknight and Khonshu is visual physical change. Outside of the ghost bird skull armor the boys aren’t visually changing. Meanwhile, Peter has physically turned into a monster before and turned completely back. In #4/5 of the 2020 noir run the cicada stone/pink meteor turns people into monsters, but not everyone. Huma turns, Shocker turns, Peter turns, and all the resurrected villains(one guy just explodes). But Hu-Ri and Checkpoint Red don’t, until Hu-Ri touches the stone. Huma and Peter are both in close proximity to eldritch beings, them turning into inspired versions of those beings make sense. The Shocker turns because he spent so much time holding onto the stone, whereas Red hasn't. But notice Shocker and Hu-Ri don’t turn into an animal inspired version of themselves like Huma and Peter do, he becomes more of a hulk like creature, because he isn’t attached to an other-worldly being. And when Peter turned back he essentially said “that hurt like a bitch” and kept moving.

If we want to keep with the canon noir timeline and going with the idea that the Spider god is either continuously changing Peter, or just changing him during resurrections this would explain the webbing and mood/personality change from the 2009 comics to the 2020 comics. But that’s boring and too simple and I hate the time jump so fuck that shit.(again another post).

So let’s focus back on ‘Ship of Theseus’ in the context of resurrection. We have too many questions about the process of resurrection for spider noir to properly have this conversation, but I’m going to try anyways. Let’s hit what we know again: resurrection changes your brain chemistry/structure, the spider god is changing Peter throughout the series, Peter has possibly had three resurrections, the spider god resurrected Peter from a different dimension, which confirms this is a multidimensional being(if she exists but shhhh). So now that we’ve established that there are changes happening to Peter(one way or another) we know that the spider god is ‘repairing’ Peter throughout the series or ‘replacing his boards’ so to speak.

At what point is this no longer Peter? Is it when he is no longer recognizable as a human? Or is it when there is nothing left in his mind to resurrect? Or has this never been Peter, or rather not since his first resurrection when he got his powers? Is this change sudden or slow? Is it the resurrection that turns him into something else, is it slow build up like an Iodine Clock titration and one day he just wakes up no longer human, or is it a slow process of subtle changes? But if the latter, what’s the change that does it? What defines Peter’s humanity? Does it matter if he’s human or not? Does it change anything for him if he’s no longer human in body and mind?

Part of the answer may lie in the villains we see through the 2009 and 2020 runs. In the first run the main villains were the Goblin and the Vulture. Both who were implied to not be human or having physical inhuman qualities(but I’m partially ignoring the whole carney thing cause honestly it’s ableist and boring). In Eyes Without A Face, the second run, the main villains are the Crime Master and Dr. Octavious, both humans with no inhuman or supernatural qualities. For simplicity sake, let’s focus on Octavious and Goblin. In comparing the two I think most people would agree Octavious is the more heinous of the two. Goblin takes on the role of a mob boss. He runs a crime empire, exploiting the defenseless in New york. It’s nothing new and he’s even somewhat sympathetic ‘I’m finished with freakshows’, you can understand how he got where he is. This is not to say he isn’t a villain but he very much fits the ‘villain with a tragic backstory’. People look at him like he is a monster, we, the reader, start out the story knowing what he is.

Whereas Octavious is not even remotely sympathetic because there is no empathizing with how he ended up there and why he does what he does. He is not only othered by his actions but also by the narrative for his disability(it’s important to acknowledge the ableism in his story but that is another post). Ultimately his delusions and the acts he commits make him a much more sinister monster than Norman, despite Norman actually having stereotypical qualities of a monster.

Then we have Huma and Shocker from the 2020 run. Huma is the closest person we see who is in a similar situation to Peter in terms of the spider god. While we don’t know all the details, whether she is the same as Peter, bearing a curse of power, or the actual god. Either way she presents as human and is not treated differently than any other human woman. At the end of the series we realize how corrupt she is and that she’s been working with Nazi’s, not necessarily for the ideology but to achieve what she wants. Her transformation is the nail in her coffin of her monsterous perception. The question is did we need her to look like a monster to see her as one?

In general we are left with more questions and theories than answers.

But onto my subjective answers to the questions. My answers might change over time so don’t hold me to them.

Of course it matters if Peter has humanity. Peter Parker across the board is one of the characters who HAS to hold himself to a moral code or he falls apart and becomes the villain(well maybe not the villain but you know what I mean) of the story. He holds back during fights and has a no kill policy for a reason.(Good men don’t need rules, today is not the day to find out why I have so many.-dr.who) But noir Peter isn’t your typical Peter. He kills, he maims, he doesn’t hold back. With that said, he still is held together by his morality. It’s just different than what we are used to seeing from Peter, but don’t mistake that as a lack of morality. However, do I think it’s a very real possibility that this morality could be eroded over time especially considering his home world and the above circumstances? Absolutely. Peter is someone who historically needs someone to ground him and ‘make’ him human. This is normally May Parker, Mary Jane, Gwen Stacy, occasionally Harry Osborn, Daredevil, Johnny Storm, and Flash Thompson, and the ghost of Ben Parker. Dude lives by a passing saying of a dead relative, he clearly doesn’t have a super solid moral compass. I think this is part of the reason the noir comics kept his relationship with May and Mary Jane(I disagree but whatever whatever), because he needs support to stay grounded.

Now, under what circumstances is Peter no longer Peter? I’m going with the Iodine Clock titration theory. Just drop after drop of ‘changes’ and morally questionable decisions that don’t seem to hold much weight, until he does something truly off the reservation. But it brings us back to ‘If there is too much power then it is the responsibility of the people to take it away.’ Peter losing his humanity puts him in the Goblin’s place as the one with great power that cannot be trusted from the first comic. Whether it’s the resurrections, the spider god ‘replacing’ parts of him, or him just being pushed to the brink mentally that does it. Whether the change is physical, neurological, spiritual, or mental. This ‘Peter’ is not the Peter we first meet in 1932.

This is a different ship, and you can sail and stay on the same course in memory of, or under the false pretense of being, the original as many times as you want, but you cannot bring back the parts you replaced and undo the ‘improvements’ you made. But that doesn’t need to make Peter a monster.

I started reading c:e a bit and I have a question because I don’t know if I’m dumb or if it’s just my lack of English skills… I’m really confused of what’s going on with the match and don’t understand some terms (Consortium? Transference? Epitaph System? Shroud safehouses?) so my question is that if it will be explained/get clearer later as you continue reading the story and I should calm down or is it really because of my lack of English skills and I should use a dictionary? 😂

Hi hi!!! First of all—absolutely NOT dumb. English skills? Baby, this story would confuse a native English speaker mid-espresso shot, you’re fine (⌒_⌒;) You’re doing amazing.

Sooo, think of Code : Epitaph and the whole C:E universe like you would Dune or The Hunger Games or even The Matrix or Maze Runner. You’re being dropped into a world that is already running. It’s weird, it’s coded, it’s full of terms you don’t recognize—and that’s the point.

We are living inside the head of a protagonist who has been raised in this system. She’s not going to stop and explain what “Transference” means because she knows. It would be like a human narrator in a story pausing to explain what “marriage” or “gravity” is. That’s the danger of person limited POV—you’re seeing the world through their lens. So yes, a lot of worldbuilding will come from context clues.

You will absolutely get more clarity as the story continues, but I promise: it’s not your English. It’s just Kiki Nation things. I write labyrinths. I want you to question things. I want you to go 👁👁 “wait… what the fuck?” and then six chapters later go “OH MY GOD.”

That’s also why I don’t write in omniscient POV—because the mystery and confusion are intentional narrative tools. (Fun fact: Fourth Wing actually got a lot of criticism for the opposite approach, where the protagonist explains things she already knows just to info-dump on the reader. That breaks immersion and makes the world feel fake.)

So, long answer short: YES, things will become clearer. YES, the Epitaph System and Transference are real things with logic behind them. YES, detective skills are encouraged. YES, you can use a dictionary (or the tags/discussion posts), but you’re not failing at anything by being confused. That’s the point. This is science fiction with emotional stakes. Think of it like… slow drip revelation.

And finally: no one reads Kiki Nation fics to relax. You came here to suffer intellectually and emotionally. That’s the contract. Welcome (っ´▽`)っ

OVERMODERATION and BAD FAITH ARGUMENTS ONLINE!

I was just in Reddit jail for three days because I commented on a Tesla post about dealerships and Cybertrucks being vandalized by fire.

I actually criticized this type of protest—I do NOT think setting vehicles on fire or burning down dealerships is the answer! First, it just releases toxic pollution into the environment.

However, my comment was something along the lines of: "Setting Cybertrucks on fire is just polluting—they should stick to bricks." And voilà… a three-day Reddit ban.

Folks, Reddit is one of the most heavily moderated social media platforms. I’ve spoken about this before—people really need to get their act together and learn the skills of healthy debate and conversation. Yes, things are VERY, VERY intense online right now. We are in officially dangerous territory.

I commented on this during the pandemic, and my fellow leftists didn’t get the message:

We must do better at engagement and learn how to handle these conversations. Sometimes, it’s best to just scroll on by—you might be engaging with a bot. But we also need to work on understanding nuanced conversation.

Yes, the “enemy” may not get it, but placing a well-reasoned, logical, and nuanced argument on social media might actually reach someone—just one person—who stops and thinks, “Hmm… interesting point, I hadn’t considered that.”

That being said.. these are some suggestions if you manage a social media group.

Over-moderation on social media is a growing issue, especially when it disproportionately targets humor, sarcasm, and valid critique while allowing actual harmful content to slip through. Here are some recommendations for striking a better balance:

1. Prioritize Context Over Keywords

Moderation systems should analyze intent and context, not just flag specific words.

AI tools should be trained to detect sarcasm, humor, and critique rather than assuming all flagged words indicate harm.

2. Implement Tiered Moderation Instead of Blanket Bans

Warnings before bans – Users should receive explanations and opportunities to appeal before being banned.

Graduated penalties – Instead of automatic long bans, have a system where users can clarify their intent before harsher actions.

3. Improve Appeal Processes

Allow users to directly explain their comments to a human moderator, not just an algorithm.

Appeals should be quick and not take days or weeks.

4. Differentiate Between Harassment and Disagreement

Just because a post is controversial or critical does not mean it’s harassment.

Focus on actual threats, doxxing, and incitement of violence rather than censoring political discourse or satire.

5. Protect Humor and Satire

Humor is a valid form of critique and should be recognized as such.

Platforms could have "satire" or "context" tags for posts to reduce misunderstanding.

6. Use Human Moderators for Complex Cases

AI can assist but shouldn’t make final decisions on bans or content removal.

Controversial posts should go through human review, especially if reported multiple times.

Social media should equally apply rules across all political and social spectrums.

Hate speech and direct threats should never be tolerated, but differing opinions, sarcasm, and satire should not be treated as threats.

The goal should be to foster conversation, not shut it down.

see and challenging harmful narratives directly is important—it’s how change happens. Retreating into echo chambers, while comfortable, doesn’t push the conversation forward.

A while ago I had to make a complaint towards a mental health organisation. I felt frustrated with random workers telling me “I’m sorry for what happened”. Why are they apologising? They didn’t do XYZ.

I don’t see my system members as “parts of me”. I see them (and myself) as “parts of a system”.

I think it’s understandable to say “I’m sorry my system harmed you. We will work on doing better.” I think it would be inauthentic for me to say “I’m sorry for how I hurt you” for something a system member did, and I think it would be a form of masking.

I saw your post, “alters aren’t people”, I somewhat disagree but I do agree with the last line, “DID is not plurality”. So why are you posting in plural tags? You say it’s “for reach” but you don’t need to reach the plural community, you need to reach the OSDID community, no?

DID is not plurality, plurality is a subculture some people with DID may identify with. Even then, while people with DID commonly have trauma it isn’t necessary for diagnosis. Also, everyone experiences dissociation and everyone has parts, so where do you draw the line between system and singlet?

Interested in your thoughts. I believe people can self identify as plural, similar to gender diversity. The way dysphoria with gender and dissociation with plurality are treated parallel quite a bit from my perspective, it’s understandable for the term sysmed to arise from transmed.

Also, you repeat a bit that you don’t experience empathy, as a fellow autist though, it seems you experience cognitive empathy if not other forms.

I agree that apologizing the way you stated will also be helpful. I think acknowledging that alters are separate states while also not excusing it for being one alter is good. Taking accountability is important and the way you phrased it is doing so.

Seeing yourself as parts of one system is also quite healthy. I do not mean you should ignore the existence of your alters when I say they are not separate people. I just mean that it is countertherapeutic to see yourself as multiple people because it is harmful to do so. Ignoring them completely is just as harmful.

I use tags for reach towards the plural community because I like to hear what everyone has to say. A lot of CDD systems also use plural tags. It's just to reach people of all types because I like to observe the way those communities work. I like to debate, I like to learn, and I like to ramble.

I believe endogenic DID is not possible because of the nature of DID seeing as PTSD does play a large part in it. I don't deny the existence of endogenic plurality because most people who fit that descriptor are simply spiritual. While I don't think you can mix spirituality with science/psychology, I don't like to deny peoples personal beliefs. My line between system and "singlet" is drawn between whether or not the person has DID or OSDD/P-DID.

The site you linked is an interesting thought process. I don't understand the way of thinking but I think people also can identify as plural if they wish to do so, just not as someone with DID or OSDD/P-DID. Like I usually say, I don't want to get into others spiritual beliefs because I do not share them. I don't think that spiritual belief should be compared to trans people though as it is completely different with different history and "sysmeds" are just people who disagree with the belief while transmeds are transphobic POS who cause a lot of harm.

Lastly yes, I do often mention that I do not experience empathy. I don't like to bring up why but for the sake of explaining (and following advice of a therapist in a way) this is because I have NPD. I have been getting better in some ways and observing peoples point of view is quite helpful in understanding how people feel, but of course I can only do so much. Autism also has quite an affect on it. Interacting online is a good way for me to practice regulating emotions I do not understand myself and trying to see things from others perspectives while also engaging in topics I find interest in.

all right fuck it i wasn't gonna do this but then i ended up filling the tags on the post i reblogged.

so here's my thoughts on staff's 'Tumblr's Core Product Strategy" post and the things that i think could actually be good!... if staff respects tumblr's culture in implementing them.

to note, i am referring to this post. for better context, please go read the whole thing and try not to skip details, since i think it's important to understand the post through your own perspective if you want to participate in the conversation.

this post worried me at first, both because changes in the tumblr ecosystem with as much weight as this post carries have, historically, been pretty bad for the userbase.

starting off with a focus on creating a larger user base and inviting more, new creators rather than with a strong plan to focus on improving the current state of tumblr sets off alarm bells.

reading through the rest of it leaves me with... mixed thoughts. while it honestly does seem like they've heard a lot of the things we've been screaming at them about and might actually take steps to make things improve, i'm still wary.

this isn't a post explaining specific changes tumblr plans to implement. in fact, there are relatively few examples of actual strategies being communicated. it's just an overview with a lot of implications for the future.

i mean, not even the new tumblr labs group has any idea what the exact changes are going to be. just look at this:

and i think that's the problem.

so, the post. staff explains that the issue, as they see it, is that the platform is fundamentally flawed-- i.e., because tumblr is difficult to use if you don't have an understanding of the site before, it tends to scare off new users rather than encourage engagement.

this isn't untrue. however, it should be noted, the tumblr userbase has cultivated a culture of teaching newcomers how the website and the website's culture functions. (see: the many posts made as 'guides' in the wake of the twitter and reddit fiascos, as well as @/strange-aeon's video on the topic.)

(not to say that this system isn't imperfect and could be improved by directing new users to the these posts, buuuuuuut i'll get into that later.)

now: i (and i think most of the userbase) agree with staff on the main point-- tumblr, as a platform, is broken. we have long complained about the bugs and the messy reblog chains and the notifications overwhelming you if a post gains traction.

(though, we've also just integrated that into tumblr culture, but that's a tangent for a different time.)

here's the thing: staff does mention these things as problems they want to fix.

here's a short list of some things the post mentions that i honestly agree are a problem, and that a lot of people have wanted to see change!

again, these are things that i agree are issues and would be cool to see improved upon. but staff doesn't tell us how they plan to do this.

in staff's response to the userbases' assumption that they're going to remove the reverse-chronological dashboard, they state they're 'surprised' users came away with this assumption.

i, for one, am not.

the relationship between tumblr staff and the tumblr collective has been strained for a long time. mounting frustrations about users' actual issues with the website being ignored while new features are implemented that are almost unanimously disliked doesn't help.

and don't forget, the last time a change as drastic as this post is making it seem came into action, the porn ban was implemented. a change that had an overall negative effect on the community and tumblr's culture at large. it tore away crucial aspects of tumblr's identity that we'll probably never get back.

so while this post does address issues users have wanted to see fixed, of course we're still going to be wary.

the bottom line is, users don't trust staff to implement changes that will be beneficial to improving the platform for the tumblr userbase. (the recent reddit and twitter debacles don't help things much, either.)

i think staff needs to realize, as the final poster put it, tumblr already has innate value. value created by the community.

if staff focuses on improving tumblr to be easier to use-- in accordance with elevating tumblr's culture-- it will attract more people, simply by being less broken all the time.

this brings me to the other (main) issue i have: putting new users first over the current userbase.

this may not have been what staff meant to imply, but the emphasis seems to be on improving the userbase for incoming users, rather than those of us who are already here.

to be clear, i don't think that making tumblr easier to navigate for new users is bad. i mean, there's a reason we were writing guides. joining tumblr if you aren't already exposed to it can be daunting.

allowing new users to rely on an actual, working algorithm (although i think a user-driven algorithim is possibly one of the best parts of tumblr) isn't inherently bad. using that algorithim to elevate new creators isn't bad, either.

it's the way they choose to do this that makes us wary. like i mentioned before, we already have somewhat of a system for on-boarding new users to the site: word of mouth from more experienced users. this helps with both learning how to navigate tumblr and introducing new users to tumblr culture.

with all this in mind: where do we go from here?

in my mind, the solution for these problems comes down to communication. if staff wants more trust from the tumblr userbase, they need to show they are willing to listen to feedback from the tumblr collective.

when implementing changes, a great way to avoid the immediate backlash and distrust of tumblr users is by clearly outlining the changes they plan to make and the strategies by which they will be carried out.

another user made the analogy that websites should be like cities, where the users have a say in (as staff puts it) the 'evolution of tumblr.'

(mmmmmaybe we could use that spiffy new poll feature, too? everybody loves polls!)

for on-boarding new users, staff could take inspiration from the userbase in implementing a system by which new users are given the information needed to navigate tumblr. tidy up the site, remove bugs, and make it easier to use, and a lot of problems will sort themselves out.

then, we can go from there.

regarding the rest of the stuff i brushed over, i don't feel i can really say much without knowing what they actually plan to do, or where they plan to go with these things.

for example, here's another list of images of things from the post that i am cautiously intrigued by, but am worried will be improved for the worse:

the bottom line is this: if staff wants the support of the userbase in upcoming changes, they need to show that they respect and value us and the culture at large. in my opinion, staff has made strides in embracing tumblr culture, but we need to know these changes are not just motivated by profit.

if staff intends to keep it's current users, they need to to recognize that we deserve a say in this, too.

without the userbase, tumblr wouldn't exist. end of story. we are what keep tumblr alive. as stated before, expanding the userbase is not a bad thing. but doing so to the detriment of tumblr's culture is.

in this regard, i do truly hope that staff means what they said in the conclusion of their original post:

I think you should do what you want with it. change your theme if you'd so like! I understand the fear in confusing people so it's probably better to either make an announcement or a pinned post that explains the change/ there will be a change so there's no confusion! and usually I do recommend that you should PROBABLY keep the same tagging system just for the point of easier navigation and accessibility. I know people often change their tags to fit their theme but that can be very thoughtless when it comes to general navigation of all your terms and posts. Hopefully that helps!
