We accept both PayPal and Gofundme donations: 50 USD for one PayPal entry; 500 SEK for one Gofundme entry (500 SEK is around 47 USD so it's a slight discount!)

Ongoing Emergency Update

Basic info: I'm a disabled enby taking care of my disabled elderly mother, and we're Homeless. I've been and continue to look for work but at the time being Moms SSI is our only stable income.

This months wrinkle: The managers at Motel 6 let us stay way over the allowed number of days for literally as long as they could but as of yesterday we Had to be Out, so we moved to Best Western because it was the only semi affordable place in town, but it is more expensive and having to pay for a cab to get from point A to point B ate up another chunk of money.

We've got the room paid for until the 9th but as of the 3rd we're flat broke.

Luckily they have Breakfast included in the price of the room so I dont have to worry about feeding us. But I have no money to keep a roof over our heads let alone get The medications we need.

This was the 12th spring break you’ve spent with Jake and 9th with Cassie. It’s come a long way from switching between traveling with one of your parents as kids to travelling alone as adults with new friends as Jake added Jay and Sunghoon months earlier after becoming roommates.   

The five of you had spent a (somewhat) wonderful time in the mountains upstate as Jake’s uncle allowed free use of his cabin. It wasn’t your first choice for vacation, but who were you to pass up free lodging. You hate to admit it, but the mountain air did feel comforting during the dreaded hike you were forced to take part in.  

It was on the last night of the trip when the 5 of you were sitting in the hot tub, having fun playing a drinking game when Cassie shared with everyone that her mom had gotten diagnosed with breast cancer. You felt defeated as she sobbed into your arms, looking at the guys to help comfort her. The night quickly ended after that, you went off to your own room, Cassie went to the bedroom next door, and Jay, Jake, and Sunghoon went upstairs.  

Waking the day after, you were hit with the aches and pains of sitting in a car for hours on end. Your phone lights up as a video call from Jake comes in.

After accepting it, you listen to Jake talk about staying up until 5 AM – spending more time in the hot tub, finishing the last bit of alcohol, and how cold it was. You’re listening intenetly until his tone shifts, “Can I ask you a question?” 

Your heart feels light for a second as you feel your hopes rise up but part of you already knows the answer. And the answer will crush you. 

“Is this a threat?” You lightly joke but hide your FaceTime screen, so your camera is off. 

Jake sighs, “Y/n.” 

“I’m kidding! Just say it.” 

“How would you feel if something happened between Cassie and I?” 

You love Cassie, you really do. She’s been a wonderful friend to you and it makes you happy to share girlhood together. But she’s different from you in almost every way – you just were hoping that this conversation was never going to happen. 

“I wouldn’t care if anything happened.” Lie. “I just hope you would tell me immediately.” Half lie. You would want to know right away, but it would ruin you if you were told after it happened or months down the road.  

“I had sex with Cassie the last night of the trip.” 

Your heart isn’t so much crushed as it is violently ripped from your chest, sent into outer space, and pulverized.  

A deep breath is needed for you to continue this call without shedding tears. “I knew it.” 

It was bound to happen. Jake had made a few off-hand comments to you about how he wouldn’t mind sleeping with Cassie, that one wet dream about her, or his thoughts during truth or drink. 

Deep down you knew it was never going to be you. You could just see it in his eyes when you asked him “what am I stubborn about that’s making my life miserable?” Frantically searching his mind for answer that wasn’t along the lines of “being more than friends”. His final cop out answer was you not “putting yourself out to into the world” which is true as well.

You hum in response as you continue scrolling through Pinterest.  

“Do you want a debrief of it?” 

“Um, actually, it’s almost 11 PM and we need to go to sleep.” 

Jake lets out a groan as he realizes that he has to get up in 6 hours for work. And you turn your head up to the ceiling to find your inner strength to not sound bitchy. 

“Talk to you tomorrow?” 

“Yeah, sure.” 

Ending the call, you roll over to the side of your bed to charge your phone and smush your face between your pillows to scream.  

You could barely keep your eyes open as you stare at your email inbox every sentence having be reread multiple times to make sense. 2 hours of sleep was all that you were able to get last night as every time you closed your eyes all you can think about is Jake and Cassie fucking.  

It started off with you dreaming of getting married – you were walking down the aisle in your dream dress with Jake standing at the end of the aisle with the biggest smile on his face. You felt your cheeks starting to hurt from how hard you were smiling. You don’t know how you got there or how it happened, but you were going to enjoy your dream.  

Looking around, it’s exactly how you want it – from your favorite flowers lining the aisle and in a small bouquet in your hands to the rows of everyone you’ve ever cared about watching you with tearful smiles, the lack of your parents, and your bridesmaids wearing your favorite color in different styles of dress. It was perfect. You reach the altar as Jake’s hand extended towards you, you take it and turn to look at the officiant who was your favorite teacher from school.  

As you went to squeeze Jake’s hand, you felt nothing and turn back to see that the place where he once stood was empty and the crowd began cheering. Your head turns back to the aisle to see Jake furiously making out with someone. The bouquet dropped from your hand as the person leaned back to show their face – Cassie. Tears began streaming down your face as they go back to shove their tongues down each other’s throats.  

Jolting awake, you felt the real tears on your face. The nightmares that followed consisted of the same formula, you being happy to see Jake in a romantic scenario and ends with him in some capacity making out with Cassie, him always choosing her. 

It’s healthy to feel negative emotions like jealousy, but probably not in the capacity you feel right now.  

It’s not Jake’s fault that he isn’t interested in you. You just… wish he wouldn’t string you along sometimes, that he would just flat out say “it’s not going to happen ever” or just kiss you once to shut you up. He did share a few times over group calls during “horny hours” (which are every hour) that he was an ass guy. You didn’t really have an ass – you had tits. If you had to use a letter to describe your body type it would be a B, tits and stomach, rather than just a P. But you also don’t think he’s shallow and would only be attracted based on body type, but you just know.  

Maybe it’s other factors like your personality. 

You would like to think that you’re a not a bad person – that everyone has a few traits that are undesirable, but you don’t think you’re a good person either. You hate it when your roommates use your favorite cup, like that’s your favorite cup that you use every day, why would you do that. Or that you would rather stick your hand down an active garbage disposal than visit your parents so they can criticize every aspect of your life – which they had already been doing your entire life.  

But Jake has known your complicated relationship with your parents. He’s witnessed his fair share of arguments when they were responsible of hosting spring break. You’ve confided in him your feelings. You’re just not sure if it caused you to push him away.

The Manifesto posted to Substack is fake

I've been seeing people uncritically share this (now deleted) substack article claiming to be Luigi Mangione's manifesto. If you believed this was real you should know that it's fake.

The real manifesto wasn't posted up until a day ago by Ken Klippenstein. You can read the manifesto here:

“To the Feds, I'll keep this short, because I do respect what you do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn't working with anyone. This was fairly trivial: some elementary social engineering, basic CAD, a lot of patience. The spiral notebook, if present, has some straggling notes and To Do lists that illuminate the gist of it. My tech is pretty locked down because I work in engineering so probably not much info there. I do apologize for any strife of traumas but it had to be done. Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming. A reminder: the US has the #1 most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly #42 in life expectancy. Please share this. There's too many conspiracy theories going around right now without believing disinformation.

ETA — editing this post to debunk this manifesto I’ve recently become aware of. I haven’t been able to find anyone talking about this one online, but using Whois to check when the website was created reveals it was made December 9th, which is the day he got caught. It also shows the website was registered by someone living in Reykjavik, Iceland.

ETA 2 — I didn’t think I would have to say this on a post trying to combat disinformation, but since that person called me a “narc” after calling them out for trying to derail this post with conspiratorial thinking, I feel the need to say that at the time of me writing this post, Luigi Mangione is, at most, the main suspect in the murder of Brian Thompson. I make no claims that he’s the perpetrator (although I will admit the evidence is stacked against him). I am in support of a trial by jury and am in favor of a not guilty verdict (and jury nullification).

What is Tyria Pride?

Tyria Pride is a two-day in-game pride march from one corner of (core) Tyria to the other to show support both LGBTQ players and devs, and a fundraiser for Rainbow Railroad, a non-profit organisation which helps queer people escape state-sponsored persecution and violence around the world.

It's tons of fun every year, a ton of streamers join in so there are many ways to follow along even if you're not in game, music guilds hold concerts, and we have some pretty legendary giveaways! It's always blast!

Rainbow Railroad is a non-profit that helps LGBTQ+ people get to safety from countries where their lives are at risk. 🌞GOOSE GROUPIE CHALLENGES: SUMMER EDITION🌞

This is our first ever writing challenge for the Ryan Gosling fandom! But, if you're not a writer, don't fret! We also accept other artistic submissions; such as artwork, playlists, mood boards, whatever floats your boat! As long as it fits in with each week's theme, we'll accept it! Speaking of the themes, there will be nine in total. This challenge starts on June 1st and goes through September 1st, but there are a total of four break weeks to ensure no one gets burnt out and there's ample time to get your submissions in! After September 1st, we will not be accepting entries. Each theme will come with an optional prompt, Goose character, and trope generator! Feel free to use one, all, or none of them for your submission! As of right now, each theme is a surprise until the week it starts! But, if you'd like to have some hints, each theme has a corresponding emoji in our discord server....and we might answer some questions about them..👀 Sign-ups for the challenge are officially open! You can find the link at the bottom of this post. They will remain open until the end of June.

once again, im here with set pictures, info from the set designer, Mark Hofeling, and my own commentary on it. this time, i wanna share stuff on Isle of the Lost from Descendants 2.

Ursula's Fish and Chips Shoppe:

About Ursula's place: "Like all the imprisoned villains on the Isle of the Lost, Ursula has had to find a way to make ends meet. Thus her Fish and Chips Shoppe is right at the tide line of the prison island. I wanted the feel of a faded old carnival attraction, still alluring despite its decay."

"Uma (China Anne McClain) and her pirate gang, including her trusted lieutenants Harry Hook (Thomas Doherty) and Gil (Dylan Playfair) rally to take back what is theirs in Uma's mother's dingy tidal pool of a Fish and Chips Shoppe."

"A detail of the menu board and specials in Ursula's Fish and Chips Shoppe."

i think this gives us info on the money on the Isle. there are two units, m and n, and there are a 100n in 1m. i think the prices are comprable to us dollars back like 30-40 years ago? which further supports my theory that the Isle is stuck in the past, in the time of their imprisonment. the menu itself has some genuine regular items, like fish cakes, dumplings, but most of them are isle specials, like pond scum, shell smell, and gulf goo. which i think is hilarious considering Ursula and Uma still just serve them whatever.

Isle of the Lost:

"A view of Low Tide Lane on the Isle of the Lost. Having been an isolated prison island for decades now, the idea was that every slat and board is on its 9th or 10th life, and every object not screwed down had changed grubby hands hundreds of times."

they kept the dirty candy colour palette! and i love how they truly kept to the 'everything is used and stolen 10 times over' philosophy.

this is the Bazaar, which is another market on the Isle. there is one in the main square and then this is the one closer to the docks, we can see Mal riding through it in D2. here, we once again see the money measurement. and i think it's intereting to see that crab and potatoes are priced higher than other things. i also like the 'satisfaction no guaranteed' sign.

Curl Up and Dye:

"Drizella's Curl Up and Dye on the Isle of the Lost is where Mal and Evie load up on chemicals for their showdown with Uma's pirate gang. So more than a hair salon as absurd as the rest of the Isle, it also had to be a repository for all kinds of chemistry and alchemy. The idea here was that out of every 100 of young Dizzy's experimental, chemical beauty concoctions, 99 blow up."

"The ever-unpredictable dye distillery."

"A detail of the dry chemistry set up."

i like that the base for this is a rough finish, like a construction before any renovation. and then its just neon splashes and broken mirrors from Dizzy's experiments. also i like the note that it's more chem lab than a salon.

Rotten four's hideout:

"The VK's hideout was always a place of respite from their raging and overbearing parents. It's where the VK's purloined all the best stuff on the Isle, and where Mal perfected her street art. "

this is Mal's room! which confirms for me that she doesn't live with her mother, at least not full time.

im kinda sad that we didn't get a view of the side with all those board games (kitchen, i think?) but even just these pictures are full of interesting details! as far as i saw only Mal's and Jay's 'Long Live Evil' tags are on the walls, i think it's because it was theirs first. i like the thorns that are circling the walls, like Maleficent's thorns around Sleeping Beauty's castle. they have some kind of an old school sound system, too! which i can i assume they use when throwing parties. and there are bikes, probably repaired 10 times over, but prised nonetheless. also, i thought that the green lamp in Mal's room is a hookah lol

Uma's ship:

"Uma and her pirate gang rule the rotting docks and rocky edge of the Isle of the Lost."

"Uma's HQ is this ruined pirate ship. After all the Disney Villains were relocated to the Isle of the Lost, all the ships that brought them were scuttled and they were all locked behind an enchanted barrier. So this is one of many wrecks in these waters, including the sails of the ship, rammed into her side. We found real tall-ship riggers for this work, and they used 10,000 feet of rope in the process."

i love that they really rigged that ship! i think it's a detail that shows that Uma's pirates are real professionals.

"This photo shows the "rickety" and treacherous landscape of the rotten docksides. This became the setting of a 20 person melee to rescue King Ben and escape the Isle and Uma's vengeful clutches."

we can see Uma's 'We ride with the tide' tag in the bg, signifying that this is her territory.

there are a lot of cool details but what i'm focusing on here are the old school washing machines, again showing us how the Isle is frozen in time. im assuming theyre on the docks because this is where the water is.

i am looking to make another post with details from D3, here's hoping i'll get to it sooner than i did this follow up
