Zeus and Metis filling up my brain again. Metis was his best friend. His first friend. The one who gave him the drug that freed his siblings, his future wife. He loved her. As a friend or a lover? Maybe it goes beyond that. Some versions she resisted him. Some versions she loved him back, even doing it behind Hera's back. Does it matter? He killed her. He was her best friend and he subdued her into nothing. He had to. Did he have to? Was his kinghood worth it? Maybe that's why he was lenient with Dionysus, his son said to take over his throne. Was the wisdom he gained, her wisdom, for good and for evil, worth it? Maybe that's why he keeps Athena around, the motherless goddess, motherless because of him, even when she tried to betray him. In the essence of her mother, Athena's mother, it's almost like Athena's betrayal was warranted- he betrayed her first.

Shazamfamily liked Epic the musical, but when they put all of the JL to watch it, or even when they do it themselves, some of the gods are constantly saying somethings that actually happened or corroborating the story Infront of them.
The Shazamily really like the musical Epic. So they decide to show it to everyone else in the League. They manage to do it at a bonding night.
Bruce: Epic? I've heard something about it.
Billy: Yeah, it's a musical about the adventures of Odysseus.
Barry: Is that the one who blinded the Cyclops?
Billy: Yeah. That's him.
The Troy Saga
Bruce: I gotta hand it to him, he wanted to raise him as his own.
Barry: Zeus is a bastard. No offense, Diana.
Diana: My dad wasn't a very good God then.
Clark: Marvel, is this all true?
Billy: Pure, and if anything is different, I'll tell you.
Eugene: Sometimes it's good to have Gods in your head.
Hal: You know, I think Politec is going to die.
Oliver: It's obvious!
Dinah: One more word out of your mouth and I'll throw you off the wall myself.
Hal and Oliver: Yes, ma'am.
The Cyclops Saga
Hal: I told you so!
Dinah:*punches him in the stomach*
Bruce: It's stupid to tell a Cyclops your name. It won't end well.
Darla: Zeus said Poseidon got really mad.
Clark: Really?
Pedro: Sure. Injuring a child of a God was insulting the God himself. The punishment was murder.
Barry: Shit, do we have to wait for Zeus to go on a rampage over Diana?
Billy: No. Time passes and Gods change. Including Zeus. He's a jerk though.
Zeus: Hey!
Achilles: He's right.
Atlas: Should I remind you about all your kids?
The Ocean Saga
Bruce: I told you.
Hal: Yeah, yeah, Spooky, we know how smart you are.
Clark: Poseidon is really mad.
Mary: Yeah.
Barry: What Aeolus said scared me.
J'onn: It's a god. Of course his words are a warning.
Solomon: Not everything the gods say means anything. Sometimes it's just crap.
Zeus: Why do I feel attacked?
The Circe Saga
Billy: Did you know that Odysseus is Hermes' great-grandson?
Bruce: Is that why he helped?
Freddy: No. Because he was bored.
Clark: How did he know that?
Darla: He told us himself. We have dinner with him sometimes.
The Underworld Saga
Barry: I feel so sorry for his mother! *cries bitter tears*
Diana: *comforts him*
Hal: Why wasn't Hades here?
Billy: He was swamped with work. He said there wasn't even room for a dropped needle. So many people died.
J'onn: I'm interested in the words the choir sang in the background of Tiresias' prophecy.
Bruce: I'm more interested in the prophecy itself.
Clark: It bothers me that Odysseus is becoming a monster.
Billy: What can you do? The gods make people change.
The Thunder saga
Barry: Why didn't they listen to him?!
Hal: Zeus was flirting with a cloud?!
Diana: My dad's not that perverted.
Billy:*puts his hand on Diana's shoulder* I have bad news for you, sister.
Eugene: By the way, it wasn't rain.
Hal and Barry: Stop talking!!
Zeus: I wanted to seem really dangerous.
Hercules: Stop making excuses.
Oliver: They could have easily lost six people, but they had to screw up like that.
Bruce: I can understand them.
Oliver: But can't justify it.
The Wisdom Saga
Bruce: Odysseus didn't cheat on his wife?
Zeus: Lie! Blatant lie! He had an affair with Calypso! And they even had two children!
Hercules: Compared to you, he's more faithful than any dog.
Achilles: Agreed. Everyone knows what a womanizer you are.
Billy: He had an affair with Calypso.
Barry: Then why did Hera decide to let him go?
Darla: She and Athena are friends. So...
Hal: And Zeus?
Billy: Athena is his favorite daughter.
Zeus: That's not true!
Hercules: Don't lie. Everyone knows that Athena is your favorite.
Solomon: You don't even hide it.
Bruce: Athena definitely has a favorite.
Clark: What she said about the bloodshed in Odysseus' house worries me.
Oliver: I would kill those pathetic suitors too.
The Vengeance Saga
Hal: Holy shit!!!
Barry: Tell me he actually did that!!
Billy: Yeah, he did. It's not shown much, but he landed exactly six hundred punches. I swear you can still see those scars on Poseidon.
Bruce: Why was Hermes dancing on the raft?
Mary: He was bored.
Clark: How did Zeus react to his brother being attacked?
Pedro: He literally laughed. He still reminds Poseidon of that when he wants to be a piece of shit.
Zeus: I admit. It's true. His face is so funny.
The Ithaca Saga
Oliver: Why is the suitors' song so beautiful and so terrible at the same time?!
Diana: Now I understand why Ares has a portrait of Odysseus hanging in his room. Such carnage.
Jonn: Isn't Penelope brilliant?
Bruce: I agree. That's pretty clever. Maybe me should have a similar competition for my daughters' hands?
Oliver: I'll help you set it up.
Barry: *cries since the reunion between father and son. The last song finished him off and he turned into a puddle of tears and snot*
Hal: *tries to help Barry come to his senses, although he himself is crying*
Dinah: That's wonderful.
Clark: I agree. Thanks for introducing us to this musical.
Shazamily: You're welcome!! We're glad you liked it.

Hey! Would you mind writing a Hera x Male reader feat Jealous Zeus from BoZ?
Hey, yeah sure! I love seeing some Hera lovers on my request list, they're quite rare
(I ended up making it a little bit too gender neutral, my bad)
Tumblr media
"He's jealous of you.."
Wasn't it only fair after all? It wasn't her intention at first, she was only pissed off on her husband as he made a fool off of her. Again
Why couldn't he just keep it in his pants?! It was so hard to just respect their marriage for once? Hera had recently found out about another one of Zeus's affairs, and it was maddening.
At first she lost her temper, she swore every curse on him for disrespecting her that way once again, but sooner than expected from her any drop of anger died quickly, replaced by the exhaustion of being in the same position as always. They both knew this wasn't the first time it happened, and only a fool would believe it would be the first time. She was tired of this, she was the goddess of marriage for Olympus's sake! And he couldn't even be decent for a single decade, it was a bastard child and an affair after another, and all she could do was punish the woman and her child, it was just a waste of time for everyone involved
But then there it was, a little distraction for her anger and betrayal. In one of her temples, a new worshipper, she had never heard that voice before, and the prayer was quite good. She decided to suck her anger for a moment and go down to one of her temples to see this new worshipper.
And there you were, introduced to the temple by your mother, Hera was the goddess of family, protector of them, so your family had decided to worship her decades ago, and now it was your turn to join them. Yet it somehow felt weird, you felt your worshipping prayers were definitely heard, your offerings appreciated and you swore every time you left the temple, it was like someone was watching you, waiting for you to come back.
You were different from her husband, he was..a cheater, yet you seemed devotional to her, you appreciated what you had and respected your family. She was surprised you weren't married, because to her, you were the perfect spouse! Not that she should feel that way though... because unlike you she was married...but did he really deserve her loyalty?
"what do you think you're doing? Meeting with a mortal just for fun, you think I'm a fool?" It had been a while since this started going on, she hadn't taken revenge on his new mistress, and while Zeus was happy to know that, he was also aware it was unusual from Hera. She seemed too calm to be someone who got cheated on again, especially her, practically all Olympus realized this unusual behavior from her. The truth was, she got too engaged with her new favorite worshipper, these last weeks she decided to go down and show herself, have a conversation, she couldn't point out what it was that made her so calm whenever she heard your voice, so she felt so eager to know you in person. Of course, Zeus didn't take long to realize this either, and he knew infidelity when he saw it. "What is it? You're still mad at me, that's why you're doing this?"
"What I do with my temples and worshippers is none of your business. You have a lot of nerve to accuse me of cheating, being you after all. I bet you took advantage that I haven't punished your new whore, and have been seeking to see her again and again." The truth was, while she wouldn't call it 'cheating' she had grown quite fond of you, your interactions had been nothing but pleasant conversations. You listened to everything she said, cared about her, your voice was like hearing the most beautiful flow of the river pass by, stopping to softly kiss her worries away...the last part wasn't really a metaphor of any kind, you two did kiss once, under the soft moonlight that could reach the temple, it felt soft and full of love unlike her marriage. But she'd rather swallow all her feelings that admit them to Zeus, she wouldn't give him that.
But it was too obvious now, she was getting ready to see you, her hair carefully brushed and she was wearing her most beautiful jewelry and the most shining gemstones one could ever find. She looked happier just from the thought of getting away from Zeus and going down into your arms. Because tonight, you two would have your first official date.
"Now leave, I have better things to do than listening to your lying voice" She had no intentions on giving it to Zeus, to let him take away her little calm and happiness in this faulty marriage. As soon as she came back she'd murder that new affair partner of his, to lower his interest on her new favorite mortal

Since I've had some free time I would like to present you a new little AU that I affectionately call 'Percy Jackson!Athena is Epic!Athena with brain damage'.
The idea is simple, Zeus' real reason to strike down Athena, during god games was that he's scared, let's remember that there's a prophecy about the child of him and Metis dethroning him, and he always assumed it was gonna be a son, because obviously, it was his father who dethroned his grandfather, and it was him who dethroned his father.
But now he's starting to realise that the prophecy never said 'son', it said 'child', and Athena just demonstrated that she's successfully able to get people on her side, both people that generally like her like Hephaestus, but more dangerous, people that usually don't like her like Aphrodite and Hera.
This is dangerous, so for the first time Athena isn't his favourite little girl, she's a threat to his throne and so he strikes her down to reprogram her; this all started because she met that mortal, she was so perfect and emotionless before, so he's gonna make sure that she never really remembers Odysseus.
But doing it immediately is dangerous, the guy is still alive, he may upset the scheme, so he waits and when both Odysseus and his son die he starts subtly gaslighting Athena, also in this version Zeus is the one who wrote the Odyssey to make Odysseus look a lot worse, and also to make himself look better (he never make the Ody decide between him and the crew and he immediately says yes to his baby girl when she asks him to free him, also he omits the argument in My Goodbye, he just makes it seem like Ody and Athena were never that close to begin with)
He also gets Hera on the plan, he tricks her saying that they have to tarnish Odysseus' memory or else the poor little owlet is gonna be devastated and so non-useful, remember how useless she was after Pallas, glancing at the void for hours.
So, yeah, Hera is the reason Odysseus so blatantly cheats in this universe's version of the Odyssey, because that's the worst thing someone can do in her eyes.
So with the constant gaslighting and the lightnings that are still buzzing inside of her, no matter how much Apollo tries to help, Athena quickly becomes a shell of herself, she reverts to being very lonely, harsh and all together like we meet her in the Percy Jackson's series.
Zeus even agrees to cleanse her scars, just because she was such a good little girl and Athena doesn't even know anymore why she had those scars in the first place.
She tries to fill this void that she has, but doesn't know what it is (a friend, the answer is a friend) but misinterpreting that she believes that it's a romantic connection cause it's basically what everyone around her is doing, thus her mind's babies.
And then, suddenly, after the trial of Apollo, the god of the sun insists that everyone else spends at least a little time with their children, Athena makes sure to do everything in private, she can tolerate a child at a time, nothing more.
And so the moment to go to Annabeth arrives and honestly Athena was sure the Poseidon boy was gonna be there too, they're a bit guarded at first, but she promises she comes in peace, she talks with Annabeth, normal deadbeat mother and daughter stuff (How is school? And your boyfriend? Still like sculpture, sorry it was architecture?)
And then Percy just casually arrives with his baby sister Estelle and he's like 'Annabeth can you hold her for a sec? I need to call my mom for something very important and I don't want her near when a monster inevitably attacks!'
And her daughter laughs, shaking her head 'C'mon, Seaweed brain, I'm sure that the important thing is literally just you wanting waffles'
And Percy laughs like a dork and hands her the baby.
And for a moment Athena is sure that she saw this scene somehow and for a single moment she's in Ancient Greece again, seeing Penelope and Odysseus joke with each other with baby Telemachus being passed around, and for only a little moment she wonders how she knows so much about it, she was merely an acquaintance to the Ithaca royal family, wasn't she?
So yeah, this is the idea, if you have questions I beg you let me know, it would make me the happiest girl, because I have too many ideas!

Hi I recently found your page and fell in love with your stories!! I was just wondering if I could request a Percy x reader (maybe Hera’s forbidden child if that's ok) they got together after Percy and Anabeth broke up. And they fight because of Anabeth and how Percy and her are still really close even after the breakup. And reader feels like a second choice and a replacement that can’t compare to the original. something like that but I was hoping that we could get jealous and regretful Percy to

"you're a disgrace to my name and everything i stand for!"
for years, y/n had tried so hard to gain her mother's approval. she had done everything: she studied until dawn, trained like no tomorrow, sacrificed her life and sanity, and defended this wicked woman to her peers.
but it wasn't enough. it was never enough. because to hera, y/n was only her forbidden child. the mistake, the accident, the thing that was never supposed to happen.
"you are the worst thing that's ever happened to me! i didn't want you, i didn't want you to be here!" the angry goddess boomed.
"yeah? well, i didn't want to be here either!" y/n yelled back, tears welling up in her eyes.
"everyday, i ask the fates why the hell did luke castellan die when it should've been you! it should've been you who didn't make it out! it should've been you!" she screamed
y/n went quiet; she could feel the eyes on her. she could see zeus next to hera, looking down at the marble floors with sincerity.
she knew it was low when zeus empathized with her.
"i ask them the same thing mom." y/n said softly, a tear spilling out of her eye.
she took a few steps backward, before turning around to walk away.
✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒✧.⭒
the cruel words of her mother replayed in her head as she made her way to percy's apartment. she was minutes away from a breakdown as she knocked on his door.
no answer.
she knocked again, this time, percy quietly opened the door. his eyes were flooded with sympathy, but it wasn't for y/n. she looked past his shoulder to see annabeth on his couch, her face in her hands.
"sorry y/n, can you come back later?" he whispered. "annie's going through something right now."
"yeah, sure." y/n said calmly, feeling her heart shatter.
what could be so important?
"is she okay?" y/n asked.
"yeah, she's fine." percy continued. "she just got a bad grade on her test, and she's really upset about it. y'know how much this stuff means to her."
"aw, i understand." she lied.
no she didn't. a test grade? seriously? y/n had just had the fallout of the lifetime with her mother, and she had told percy about having to talk to her mother beforehand. but of course, when it came to annabeth, he had to drop everything.
"thanks." he smiled before shutting the door quickly.
y/n walked back to her own apartment, fingers pressed against her mouth to block the violent sobs. as soon as she got home, she collapsed on the floor and cried.
she wondered the same thing she had wondered her whole life: why wasn't she good enough?
was this a curse her mother had placed on her? the overwhelming feeling of inferiority that would follow her everywhere. she hated herself, she hated everything about herself, and everybody returned the sentiment. from her mother to her boyfriend, she was just unlovable.
and the one time she needed percy, he wasn't there for her.
hours passed by as y/n wept, and once it struck midnight, she had run out of tears. she steadily got up and drank a sip of water before sitting on her couch. she brought her knees to her chest as she looked out to the city.
suddenly, there was a knock on the door. she didn't have energy to talk to anyone right now.
the knock persisted and she opened the door to see sea green eyes staring at her. she defeatedly opened the door and let him in.
"sorry it took me so long, annie was really upset-"
"shut up, percy. just shut up!" she snapped.
he paused.
"what? are you okay?"
"no! i'm not okay! i told you that i had to go talk to hera today!"
"oh shit, y/n, i'm sorry, i completely forgot!"
his face changed as the realization hit his face.
"i don't give a fuck! you dropped everything as soon as annabeth showed up, didn't you?" she asked, angrily. "i-i mean i get it, okay? you forgot, that's fine. but i came to your door, barely keeping it together, you could see the tears in my eyes and hear my shaky voice, but you just shut the door and acted like i didn't exist until now!"
"i'm sorry, i'm so sorry." he apologized, coming closer to her.
"i don't care that you're sorry! i'm sick of you always prioritizing annabeth over me!"
"i'm sorry, i got caught up-"
"i don't care! stop telling me you're sorry if you're not going to change!"
"y/n, please. i'm sorry i wasn't here before, but i'm here now." he pleaded.
"you should've been here before!" she said. "you should've been here when i needed you to be!" her voice cracked.
"don't cry, please, please don't cry."
"but instead, you were with annabeth. comforting her, choosing her, like you always do!"
"i'm sorry, she was hur-"
"she was hurt? i was hurt when my own fucking mother told me she wished i was dead!"
"oh my gods, y/n, i'm sorry. i'm so sorry."
"stop saying sorry like you care!" she said, tears streaming down her face. "our entire relationship, you've just treated me like the next best thing. the girl you took because annabeth didn't want you anymore. i'm your second choice."
"y/n." he said softly, walking over to her.
"go home percy. i'm sure there's someone who needs you more than i do right now."
"y/n, i'm sorry." he pleaded.
"no, i've had one of the worst days of my life, and i needed you. and you chose to be with someone else." she said through tears. "so now, you're going to chose to be without me."
"y/n."
she didn't say anything. he quietly began making his way to the door, but she didn't spare him a look. she looked outside the window, at the city lights. in the reflection, she could see him. she could see the regret and pain in his eyes. he opened his mouth to say something, but he stopped. his eyes filled with water as he quietly shut the door and left.

Crowned by Desire
Chapter 2
A/N = I'm not sure if you guys will like where the story is going... but I hope you do. And ofc this story is prone to change. I might change a bit. or a lot. Depends on my mood :P
Tumblr media
Warning = dark, yandere, toxic relationships
Pairings = Greek Gods x reader
Summary = Trapped in the gods' realm as their servant, you find fleeting peace with Artemis. But when Hades offers you freedom and a different kind of power, you’re drawn into the dark world of the underworld. As you navigate your strange new life and a mysterious woman leaving you to question everything.
Word count = 2.1k words
Story below 👇
It’s been a week since you entered the gods’ realm, and ever since then, you’ve been reduced to a mere servant for them. Your days were spent feeding grapes into their mouths or, worse, being treated as their plaything.
Oddly enough, you’d somehow gained an unofficial title of “Third Ruler of the Gods.” It wasn’t assessed by Zeus or anyone important, but a few gods jokingly referred to you as such. To your surprise, nor Hera or Zeus were furious about it. If anything, Hera actually seemed amused. It felt like a mark, something that would never fade, a constant reminder of your peculiar position among the gods.
Every time one god finally let you go, another would pull you into their orbit. It was a relentless cycle, and today was no different. And today, you found yourself with Artemis.
“Pay attention, focus on the target,” she says with one of her hands adjusting your elbow while the other is on your back. “Okay, hold… hold…”
You paid attention to her voice, waiting for her signal to let go.
“Okay, shoot!”
Your finger let go of the string, launching the arrow into the air. Both of you watched as the arrow flew through the air… and onto the target, perfectly in the middle.
“There you go,” she says proudly.
Artemis was one of the better gods. Sure, she was possessive in her own way, but it wasn’t suffocating, it wasn’t as annoying. Unlike the others, she didn’t obsess over your every move or try to claim you with marks on your body as a warning to the rest. Time with her felt like a breath of fresh air. It was usually quiet strolls through the woods, hunting or whatever she wants. She let you exist in peace, unguarded, if only for a while.
For the next few hours, you two hunted and strolled around the woods. The peaceful serenity was a temporary escape from the chaos of the gods. Artemis led the way, her calm presence making it feel like the rest of the world didn’t exist.
She didn’t rush you, she allowed you to enjoy the quiet moments, the rustling leaves, and the distant calls of wildlife. There was something freeing about being in her company, the peace you felt was impeccable.
As the evening wore on and the woods started to quiet down, Artemis stood up with her arms stretching above her head. “Unfortunately, I need to get going,” she said, a hint of reluctance in her voice. “I’ve got other matters to attend to.”
You nodded, not wanting to break the silence. “Right. Thanks for today,” you muttered softly.
She gave you a small smile, one that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “Don’t worry. I’ll be around.”
Artemis turned away, her steps soft against the forest floor, blending into the night as if she were part of the trees themselves. You watched her leave, feeling the familiar tug of unease. Alone again.
Sighing, you made your way to the palace. Surprisingly it was quiet when you arrived, only the soft wind blowing across the room. Hesitantly, you passed through the main room and into the hallways.
Opening the door to your room, you saw a shadow, and a tang of worry hit you. Your heart skipped a beat as you hesitated in the doorway, scanning the dark room.
“Hello?” you called out quietly, filled with unease. There was no answer, but you felt eerie.
You stepped in cautiously, watching your step as you went. The door creaked slightly behind you as your hands guided it to close. Then, a faint sound of a footstep echoed from the corner of the room, and your gaze snapped in that direction. A figure then emerged from the shadows, stepping into the dim light.
“Who’s there?” you demanded, but your voice trembled despite your attempt to sound confident.
The person grinned, its eyes glowing in the low light. "I think you already know," came the deep, familiar voice.
It was Hades.
“What do you want?” you asked, your voice barely loud enough, but still strong.
He tilted his head slightly, a small smile appearing at the corners of his lips. “I want you,” he said simply, his tone smooth, almost too calm.
Your pulse quickened, not out of fear, but something else. You had been caught in the realm of gods for so long, dragged from one god to the next, and now… Hades is standing in front of you, as if he had been waiting for this moment all along.
"You’ve been... watching me," you murmured, piecing it together. “Just like the others.”
Hades didn’t answer right away. Instead, he stepped closer, his shadow falling over. “The others may play their games, but I am not like them. I offer you something different.”
Your gaze shifted upwards to meet him, your mind racing with thoughts. After all, nothing good comes from Hades, the god of the underworld.
“What do you want from me?” you asked.
He studied you for a moment, the weight of his stare being both unnerving and… magnetic.
“Hm, nothing more than your company. I believe… you belong... with me.” He replied, his words were slow and deliberate, as though he was talking to a child.
You swallowed, trying to push past the strange mix of emotions swirling inside you. “I’m not some... possession.”
Hades’s smile softened, now amusement visible on his face. “No, you’re not. But you are someone I want to keep close. Someone who understands the balance of power... of what it means to truly be free.”
The tension in the room thickened, and you felt the urge to escape, yet you didn’t move. Something inside you told you that there was more to this than just another god trying to claim you. Something about his words felt different.
“Why me?” you asked quietly, unable to stop the question. “Why are you so persistent?”
His gaze softened, a rare vulnerability flickering in his eyes before it was disappearing again. “Because... you don’t belong to the games the others play. You’ve seen what it’s like to be treated like nothing more than a pawn. I am offering you a choice. A chance to escape”
You didn’t know how to respond, the weight of his offer settling heavily in the air between you. Hades wasn’t offering you power or gifts like the others had. He was offering something more dangerous. His trust, his space, and a place in his realm.
Somehow, in this sick and twisted game, everyone believed you were more than what you were. Yet, they were treating you like an object. A prize that could be won. You highly doubted the fact that Hades thought any differently.
The rest was a blur. You had no recollection of what you even said, and now you’re somehow in bed with the two rulers of the underworld.
The room was dark, shielded from the faint glow of the underworld's endless fires casting shadows on the walls. You could feel the strength of their presence beside you, Hades was on your left while Persephone was on the other. They hadn’t said much after you were led here, but there was an undeniable tension in the air, a strange comfort that made your heart race.
You shifted slightly, trying to process everything that had happened. How had you gone from being a mere servant in the gods' realm to this dark corner of the underworld?
The duo was quite excited when you stepped foot into the underworld. Saying Persephone was elated was an understatement, she was ecstatic.
"I never thought anyone could visit like this, oh the things we’ll do together." she had said, her voice gentle but laced with something else.
Now, both gods were here with you, in the quiet of the underworld, and all you could do was wonder what the hell had just happened. You couldn’t help but feel like you were caught between two worlds, not really fully belonging to either.
Hades shifted in his sleep, and you instinctively tried to pull away, but his arm shot out before you could go any further. He pulled you closer with an iron grip and stuck you between them. The warmth of his touch was strangely comforting, as though this was where you were supposed to be.
Persephone, sensing your discomfort, spoke up. "Don’t worry," she said, her voice soothing in the stillness. "We don’t bite... unless you force it."
You let out a nervous laugh, unsure if it was suited for the situation, but somehow, it felt like the tension in the room had eased a little. "I didn’t ask for any of this."
"And that’s exactly why you’re here," Persephone said cryptically. "You didn’t come looking for power or glory. You came to escape."
Escape. The thought echoed in your mind. You had been planning to run for so long, and now you had somehow ended up here, surrounded by beings who controlled the very realm of death.
"Do you think I could actually leave?" you asked. “Escape this hell hole?”
There was a long pause, and for a moment, you thought they might not answer. Then, Hades spoke, his voice low and commanding but not unkind. "No one ever truly leaves the underworld. But it doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be a prisoner."
The weight of his words seeped into you like poison. You had heard whispers, stories of the underworld’s control, of gods who ruled with absolute power. But in that moment, you realized you were not a mere pawn… well, at least, not in their eyes.
Persephone shifted, placing a hand on your arm. "If you’re looking for freedom, you’ve already found it. You just have to learn to accept it. This is freedom."
And with that, the tension in the room eased, leaving you to wonder what your future held in this strange, dark place. You agreed they were nice, but this wasn’t exactly what you wanted to do for the rest of your life.
The next morning, you spotted a woman standing near the edge of the underworld, her presence odd yet strangely calming. You stepped closer to her, curiosity washing over you. The closer you get, the clearer she became.
She had long dark hair that framed her face softly, and though she looked out of place, there was a warmth in her gaze that contrasted the coldness of the surroundings. Her clothes were simple, nothing like the gods’ lavish clothing. She wore a simple t-shirt and jeans, yet somehow it made sense.
Her eyes met yours, and for a brief moment, you could see a familiar kind of understanding in them. She didn’t say anything and just looked at you in silence.
It took you a second, but when the realization hit, your heart skipped. Those were the eyes of a mother.
“You know… being separated from your kid hurts…” she says with sorrow. It was visible in her eyes and voice.
You hesitated, unsure how to respond. The words she spoke felt like they held more weight than you could grasp.
She seemed to sense your uncertainty and gave a soft, understanding smile. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make things awkward.” She said while looking around, trying to fully take in the surroundings. “This place… it’s not the easiest to be in, is it?”
You don’t know how to reply to that either. The underworld was suffocating, its darkness pressing in on you no matter where you went. There was no sunlight, no warmth. Just the cold embrace of the gods’ realm. But her words made it feel… less suffocating somehow.
“I just want him to be okay,” she continues, her gaze falling to the ground for a moment before meeting yours again. “I always worry about him. But this time… I have to trust that he’ll be able to handle whatever comes next.”
It’s strange. The calmness in her voice, despite everything. You couldn’t help but wonder how she’d managed to hold onto her sanity, especially when her own son was caught in the chaos of the gods.
“I’m sorry…” you say, although you knew you weren’t the one at fault.
Silence followed, and none of you said anything for a fleeting moment.
“If you don’t mind me asking… What's his name?” you ask with uncertainty.
“Percy… Percy Jackson,”

OH MY GOSH THE IDEA OF RESURRECTING LEE AND MICHAELS GHOSTS FOR WILL TO DIVORCE CECIL IS ACRUALLY SO GENIUS………….. YOUR IDEAS ARE ACTUALLY ALWAYS SO INTERESTING AND GOOD AND JUICY😭😭 thank bless for you bro. i was giggling reading thatttttttt ur soso smart… u understand the extent to nicos determination like no one else i need you to understand you are a genius
SHDJABDJABSJ ITS SO FCKN FUNNY THE PREMISE IS LIKE
lee and michael tell nine year old will that camp tries to be as close to ancient greece as possible, including ancient customs. including MARRIAGE. and bc of that everyone is supposed to pick someone to marry by age ten or they have to marry mr d.
and will is like. terrified.
it is soooooo goddamn funny bc he’s got this big blue eyes and he’s just Bursting into tears at the idea of being a child bride to this rude ass old man. every time he sees the fucker at dinner he hides. cass and diana and everyone else have no fucking clue what’s going on and as soon as they look away lee and michael are HOWLING. they’re awful. they’re holding onto this joke as long as they can. eventually will’s reaction gets old and they kind of forget about the joke. as older brothers do.
what they don’t expect is that will solace is about ACTION. he may be scared shitless but he is DETERMINED and scared shitless.
so he gets some ancient scrolls on marriage from the athena cabin and fucking marries cecil.
they’re literally bound my ancient laws. like they stand solemnly in that woods and vow to be wed forever and ever. there’s the flash of hera’s blessing and everything. will comes triumphantly to his big brothers saying LOOK I DONT HAVE TO MARRY MISTER D and they like oh fuck. like literally this face
Tumblr media
but like. what do you do. they’re fucking sixteen bro. they’re dumb. they don’t know how to handle that. so they make will swear on his life not to tell cass or chiron so they don’t get reamed and leave it at that. it’s fine. they’ll handle it later.
except.
you know.
they pass.
so fckn years later nico wants to date this boy he’s fallen in love with and he bares his heart and asks him out and will is like i. i wanna date you so bad. you don’t even know. but unfortunately. my stupid fucking brothers.
and nico is like god DAMN IT. because in the ancient athens law. which are so stupid and patriarchal. will needs his family’s permission to get a divorce. and cecil’s technically and cecil is being annoying on purpose bc he thinks will being married to him still is v funny. and nico would LOVE to ignore this bullshit and date will anyway but he , like most demigods, is not in hera’s good graces, and he doesn’t want to get smitten, so he has to RAISE THE MOTHERFUCKERS FROM THE DEAD to get their permission to date will 😭😭 it’s ridiculous

Okay so I saw this post about dark percy (really him reaching his Limit and fighting full strength with everything he had) and I was imagining the potential fallout of that. Pretty bad, as you can guess.
The thing is a lot of percys strongest moments happen out of view of the olympians, especially in hoo. The hurricane atop the glacier in alaska, the poison scene in tartarus, bending the depression river and the one in the palace of nyx.
Stuff like the St Helens eruption got him washed up on an inescapable island literally removed from reality until calypso gave him the OK, the achillies curse he got tricked into losing by hera. Smaller moments, the minotaur, fighting ares, the stolen pirate ship, walking on water vs hyperion, freshwater sources, him knowing both Latin and Greek, they're more easily brushed off or at least mostly due to cunning, sword skills and sheer luck and grit.
But basically the olympians don't actually know the full extent of percys strength and divine power. They have hints - percy standing on the throne, winning against ares, his many victories - but what they aren't willing to brush aside in the heat of (an important) battle there have been pretty strong consequences for.
Heck, just look at Frank, he's no prodigy with weapons, he's polite and respectful, but his distant relation to two olympians letting him inherit shapeshifting earned him direct divine meddling and his life force tied to a hunk of half toasted firewood. Man is a honey bear with lactose intolerance and he was punished with a mythical death curse for being too strong.
If Percy's true strength came out, he would risk losing everything. His freedom, most certainly. If he wasn't straight up executed he might wind up in a Greek myth style imprisonment, the way of atlas, prometheus, calypso, or something like the myriad of ways Greek heroes met their end. Good scenario he survives a dozen curses and gets on with life with a dozen new disabilities, best case scenario he's stripped of every inch of divine power and dropped back to the mortal world, not even clear sighted. Total separation from the Greeks and Romans. Oh, annabeth would marry him either way, and his friends would hardly abandon him despite the gods wishes, but they'd hardly be able to see him, and no long range contact without the ability to IM him or vice versa.
All of that to say Percy is hiding his true strength from the gods themselves - maybe not consciously, and it's not even power he particularly wants - but if they ever find out?
It's game over.
But why is he so strong? I don't know. What I do know is that the half bloods of the books are so much stronger than the ones of myth. Used to be that divine blood would get you divine favour and a great fate whether you liked it or not. Maybe some cunning and bow skills. A spot of spell casting if you were really lucky. Achillies got his curse after he was born, Perseus had a dozen magic artifacts, orpheus had something going on but hercules is to my knowledge an outlier. Now? Everyone in camp has some special power. Flight, fire, necromancy, hypnotism, dream walking etc. However it's happening, half bloods are slowly but surely getting a lot, lot stronger every century that passes. Meta? I mean I guess. But.
What no one has done before is something that their godly parent couldn't.
Except.
Except Percy.
Except Percy, in tartarus, at his mental, emotional and physical limit, controlling poison with his mind, overpowering the goddess of poison in her home, making misery choke on misery. Feeling something in his chest crack. Doing something poseidon could not, and doing it better than the person who could.
Down there, hidden away from the gods, he evolved. For that brief moment, he did something, was something new.
And that was how the gods overthrew the titans.
And that's why they must never find out.

If the apple of discord was thrown down at the wedding feast of Peleus and Thetis, how did Achilles, their son, fight in the Trojan war? The timeline does not make sense to me unless you just chalk that up to the timing of the Eternal, Deathless Gods but mortals are involved. Like Paris is presumably asked right after the wedding to judge who gets the apple then he picks Aphrodite who has promised him the most beautiful woman. Does she like wait to find out who that is and that causes the delay? The story seems to go that she promises Helen, they kidnap Helen and then the war begins so like that’s a year tops in my mind but how would that give Achilles time to become the teenager he is in the war? Please help. If there is a definitive answer excellent but I also just want theories.
i really love love love this question, cus i’ve thought about it a lot, especially because i consider Paris and Achilles to be around the same age, which, as you said, would make no sense.
sadly, i don’t have a definitive answer, but i do have a theory. it’s quite long though so buckle up.
As you probably know, Aphrodite, Hera and Athena asked Zeus to solve the issue before resorting to Paris. Zeus couldn’t answer and by the timeline of the Gods, many mortal years had passed so Paris would have been born, sent away from the palace and had enough time to grow up at this point. Ares suggests him, the goddesses ask and Paris gets bribed. But he doesn’t take Helen straight away, because he’s still a goatherd at this point.
Before I finish with that, let’s get back to Achilles. One would probably assume that within the first year of Thetis’ and Peleus’ marriage, he was already born, but that’s actually not true. The couple had six sons before Achilles, but they all passed away somehow (which, i like to think, is the reason Thetis is so protective). That means, even if they all died on Day 1 of their life and Thetis conceived the very same day: 9 months x 6 = 54 months aka. 4,5 years. That’s at least 4 and a half years before Achilles was born, but I think I can safely assume it took a little longer. Let’s say 6 years (which btw is still unrealistic and would probably be horrible for Thetis’ health but I digress).
So now, Achilles is born, stuff happens: Achilles meets Phoenix and Patroclus, he gets sent to Chiron, and eventually Scyros etc. Let’s say he’s 17 when that happens. Still a teen, but old enough to get Deidamia pregnant. Realistically, Thetis would only send him away when the threat of the war is imminent, so Helen’s kidnapping happens when Achilles is 17. I tend to say Helen was around 24, Paris was maybe 21. I believe however that the Judgement of Paris happened a couple years before.
Because, consider, Paris picks Aphrodite as a goatherd, but he kidnaps Helen as a prince. So somewhere in between, Cassandra must've found him and brought him back. He then had to get used to royal life, but, more importantly, all the ships had to be ready to go to Sparta. It could've happened in a couple of days, but a couple of years isn't unrealistic either, and it fits the timeline better.
It's a bit all over the place, so here's summary:
0 years: Peleus' and Thetis' wedding, Golden Apple incident (Paris/Achilles not born)
2 years: Paris is born and abandoned.
6 years: Achilles is born.
19 years: The Judgement of Paris happens, Paris is still a goatherd.
23 years: Paris kidnaps Helen, start of the war, Achilles is aged 17
The only time ‘divine timing’ really plays a role is between the wedding the Judgement of Paris. In divine timing 19 years is nothing, just enough time for Zeus and Ares to get involved. Paris would’ve probably already held one or two bullfights at the age of 17 when he is chosen to judge between the goddesses and from then on everything runs pretty smoothly, bearing in mind the 4 years between Aphrodite promising Helen to him and Paris actually kidnapping Helen.
sorry it took so long to post this, had to get my thoughts in check then type it up :D

Hi, I don’t know if someone has asked this already but I just wanted to know how everything started in you au?
Why is Penelope the one fighting in war while her husband is at home?
I know is a warrior!penelope au but i would like to know how that works in your story?
I also really like your take in the au it’s so cool!
Hello my friend! Thank you so much for taking the time to ask about the details regarding the AU :)! It makes me very happy to see you interested!
It's recounted with a bit more detail in the prequel (titled 'A King with no Queen') but here is the main gist of it.
Buckle up, it's gonna be quite a ride:
First things first, everything starts off exactly the same as it does in the Iliad. Paris chooses Aphrodite as the most beautiful of the Goddess', leading to Aphrodite taking Helen away from her home and husband (Menelaus) and forcing the mortal woman to be with Paris. From there, just as it goes in Homer's tale, Menelaus and Agamemnon force all of Helen's past suitors to fight with them in the war against Troy; this is because of an oath Odysseus himself proposed in order to keep the peace regardless of who Helen chose to be her husband, quote: "all the suitors should swear a most solemn oath to defend the chosen husband against whoever should quarrel with him".
Everything progresses as it does, with all of our favorite Greek heroes, including Odysseus, fighting in the war. This is where things begin to swerve for the AU.
That first year of war the men actually succeed in sneaking Helen out of Troy's palace thanks to their cunning and spies. They place her on a tiny ship that would sail her back to Sparta as quickly as possible and spend the night celebrating in their hidden camps without a care in the world. Unfortunately, the Trojans were quick to notice Helen's disappearance. While they were unable to keep her from leaving Troy, they decided to settle their seething anger with the next best thing. That night, while the Greek armies were full and drunk with merriment, the Trojans sneak into their camps thanks to the information provided by their [the Trojans] own spies. Right then and there the Trojans attacks.
This leads to the Greek men getting horribly injured, to the point where almost all of them are no longer fit for war. In exchange for Helen, the Trojan armies kidnap most of the Greek heroes (Menelaus, Agamemnon, Diomedes, just to name a few) and keep them alive as a warning and form of ransom against Greece and the Gods who support them. Odysseus, who was speared horribly in his shoulder, was spared from capture only thanks to the relentlessness of his Ithacan men.
Only a small handful of men are both spared from injury and allowed to continue to fight (Achilles and Patroclus to name a couple, that detail is just for you @somereaderinblue). The rest, by order of the Gods themselves, are forced to return home as they are no longer of use for combat.
Odysseus, Eurylochus, and the rest of the Ithacan army that was drafted return to Ithaca. Despite the damage they have received, things look hopeful and the future appears to be bright.
However, Greece still needs an army.
This is a timeline where, by Hera's orders, the Gods slowly work to give the women of Greece more autonomy by allowing them to partake in activities one thought to be only for men. Two of the Gods working hardest to meet this goal are Ares and Artemis, who have collaborated to teach women the art of combat and bearing arms.
Ares, who has never been in his parent's good graces, is in extra trouble now due to agreeing to support the Greeks on Hera's request but then turning around and supporting the Trojans upon Aphrodite's say. Hera declares that the only way to make it up to her is by drafting his eligible female warriors (those of age and with enough skill and experience to survive) to fight in the men's stead.
This includes Penelope, who had passed his trial back when she was still a young Spartan Princess and in turn became Ares' personal pupil (look at Warrior of the Heart if you would like more details). With a combination of Ares' order and Helen's plea, who feels the war is all her fault and wants to learn to fight in order to save her husband, Penelope is forced to leave behind Ody and Tele (a girl in mine and Blue's AU) in order to fulfill her duty.
That's how our version of the Warrior Penelope AU came to be! I'm sure you all know what happens from there ;)
P.S - Here are a few fun facts, not at all relevant to the AU, but still I wanna share em:
Hermione, Helen and Menelaus' daughter, actually snuck herself onto her mother's warship in order to join them in saving her father
The only reason Clytemnestra agrees to save Agamemnon is to kill him herself once they return home, since he still sacrificed their daughter before he and his men headed off for war
Patroclus was surprised when he saw Penelope for the first time. After how much Ody spoke of her, Patroclus had assumed for a time that she was a mere fiction of his imagination, a coping mechanism to keep himself sane (thank Blue for this one!)
On #3's note, Patroclus, Helen, Clytemnestra, and the rest of the Greek army immediately saw the similarities between Penny and Ody when Penny refused to shut up about how amazing her husband is and how much she longed to see him again

Ω PJO MISC. DEMIGOD HEADCANONS:⌛ KRONOS “KING OF THE TITANS, TITAN OF (DESTRUCTIVE, ALL-DEVOURING) TIME, EVIL, AND HARVEST” ⏳ {Wave 5.0}
A/N:  Here’s to that one anon that asked that Kronos ask and now it has wormed itself into my brain since then. I wasn’t sure if I could write something good about it so this was my attempt. Hope you all enjoy it regardless and thanks for reading. Also if this was weird, yeah that was my feeling towards Kronos. This is totally reflected in the story portion.  MISCELLANEOUS DEMIGOD H/CS MASTERLIST LINK: [VOL. 1: TUMBLR] || [VOL. 2: TUMBLR] || [AO3]
Your entire existence made everything seem like time had stopped unironically. No one was sure you were real and someone tried to argue that maybe you were a child of Khronos, the primordial god of time in the Orphic Theogonies, but Chiron flatly told them they were now both subsumed into each other as one.
No one was sure how or why Kronos would have a demigod, but you could sense there was an unspoken conversation as they looked upon you, whispering about how you looked just like him. You noticed a girl with grey eyes look at you with distressed eyes and analyzing you but there was confliction in her eyes, before she left in a hurry. You caught the name ‘Annabeth’ as someone yelled while chasing after her.
Zeus and all the other olympians weren’t very happy with you existence as it meant a fraction of Kronos’ power existed and as a demigod of Kronos, a hero that could act on behalf of a deity, they thought you could be an agent of Kronos; or worse, be an avatar that would hasten Kronos’ existence once more and become another host for him.
Strangely, you could see Hermes look at you with not only contempt but also confliction, as if he was seeing someone else in you.
As you hadn’t technically slighted the gods and offended them, and no Themis, the Titaness of Law, Order, and Custom, said your existence wasn’t enough reason or many demigods would’ve been killed as soon as they were born if that was an actual crime (Everyone looked between Hera and Zeus and wordlessly knew).  Plus as the god of Hospitality, Zeus could not smite you because technically you were a family member by their shared father whether they all liked it or not-
Eventually, it was decided you would remain at Camp on probation to prove yourself you were on the side of the gods, but when you got there, you could feel hostility and other negative emotions towards you. If it weren’t for the fact you really wanted to prove them wrong that you weren’t like Kronos and you were innocent, you could feel yourself tempted to give in to your emotions and enact vengeance onto them.
Kronos, as the Titan of Destructive Time, and as someone who is mortal, you can’t freely manipulate time without it applying to you as well nor without consequence. You can make time stop, reverse, or fast forward, but you will also be heavily affected as well as manipulating the flow of time goes against the order. For example, you can slow down time, but it will slow down your heart rate and you can only do it for a short amount of time before you suffer the effects of the lack of blood and oxygen flowing in your brain and body, and can make you faint or worse die. You can make time flow faster but it places a great stress on your heart as it beats rapidly and you can overstress it into a heart attack. You can make time stop, but only for a few short seconds at the risk of your heart not beating for a few seconds and I don’t need to tell you why that’s a bad idea. Doing one of these or all of them repeatedly in consecutive succession is also a threat to your life so use your time and power wisely.
As the demi-titan of destructive time, you can accelerate plants and objects to speed up degradation from passing time, and as they decompose, they can leave a pile of golden sand as a reminder of what was once there.
You’re situated at the Hermes cabin because you aren’t exempt from every other demigod who doesn’t have a cabin to call their own, but as you were brought in to a bunk bed, you could hear a few of them blurt out that are they sure this was the only bed left and there was a bit of back and forth. You did offer to sleep on the floor and while you could see them consider it, in the end they did tell you that there was no need to sleep on the floor if there was a perfectly good bed for you to use and they weren’t crammed full of demigods that were unclaimed or didn’t have a cabin.
Eventually you properly met with Percy Jackson and you both knew that he was there to evaluate you. It was awkward for a long while but eventually you got the conversation going and you revealed yourself to him, not leaving anything unfiltered, even as it felt foreign. Even though you didn’t feel like baring yourself to the guy who defeated your godly parent and you knew they expected him to do the same to you based on his own decision, you couldn’t hold anything back because that would only add suspicion to you. If you were going down, you were going down as innocent and truthful.
Chiron, bless him, did his duty and earnestly taught you like every other student and demigod under his care, but you can tell by the nervous shifting of his hooves and tail, you did make him slightly uncomfortable. You also knew he was a son of Kronos himself but was shunned by your shared father, so you weren’t sure how to feel any kinship towards him or not.
Eventually Percy revealed to you that it was awkward, not just because Kronos had a demigod? Demi-titan but those who were there during the Second Titan War, knew how he did it. Eventually, he pulled out a photograph and when he showed it to you, you saw a boy whose facial features seemed to resemble yours. If you weren’t told or weren’t aware of the second Titan War, or you were aware at your time during Camp, you came to realization that you were also yes, Kronos’ demi-titan, but your facial features and appearance came half from the host Kronos used…you looked just like Luke Castellan, former demigod son of Hermes, And thus everything made sense.
Percy promised you (not on the River Styx though) that he would help you as best as he can and he was going to do by good to Luke Castellan, who he promised to help all those years ago, that he was going to give you the best chance possible and that you weren’t Kronos, and you were your own person. You felt so tired and relieved that you had someone in your corner, and out of the corner of your eye, you saw a shimmer before Annabeth Chase stood before you, in her hand, a Yankees Baseball Cap. Surprised and shocked that she was probably there this entire time, Annabeth confessed to you about her connection to Luke and apologized about her reaction to you, as you looked like just him, her pseudo-brother, and that she was going to make it up to you as well.
It’s not the best start or situation, but you felt a little bit hopeful that you weren’t entirely alone and you weren’t set up to fail intentionally.  · • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·· • —– ٠ ✤
“So people have been weird to me, not because I’m the demigod of Kronos, the Titan of Time, who came back to life to restart another titan war against the gods that happened not that long ago,” you started, a headache already throbbing, “but also I look like Luke Castellan, who was greatly beloved at Camp, rebelled against the gods and became the host for Kronos, but also was your son too?”
You didn’t want to count all of that on your fingers and looked instead at the person in front of you. Hermes, the messenger of the gods, god of roads, travellers, merchant, thieves, and many other realms…including being the father of Luke Castellan, who also may or may not have actual blood relation to you.
“Yes, that sounds about in order,” said Hermes, clearing his throat.
“So…does that mean that I’m related to you? I apparently look like your son…” you furrowed your face in cringe, “I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be rude but I find this to be a bit awkward-”
“This is also a first for me, and I am a god. You can imagine how rare that is” admitted Hermes as he nervously played with his caduceus, George and Martha smoothly adjusting themselves and moving along with his fiddling.
You shared another awkward pause before Hermes spoke.
“Kronos himself was cut into pieces and tossed into Tartuarus, so he does not have a corporeal form so to speak. Many who are condemned to Tartarus cannot leave but there have been times of gods appearing in places regardless where they are tied to and were able to have demigods.”
“I’m sensing a ‘-but’ here-”
“-but if he could’ve done that, Kronos wouldn’t need a host in my son then” said Hermes bitterly, “So it is a high possibility that you are both my son’s and Kronos’ child.”
“...I don’t know how the genetics work and I am very afraid to ask but also curious” you admitted.
“Normally, god genetics don’t necessarily work in the same way as human genetic” he tried to say.
“It still doesn’t change the fact I’m very likely your grandchild and Krono’s child too in premise” you argued.
“Technically you are a legacy but you will be known as Kronos’ demigod…demi-titan?” Hermes said in confusion.
“Oh that makes me feel better that demi-titans don’t exist” you groaned.
“Well, technically there have been mortal children of titans but even Hecate’s half mortal children are called demigods, even though by and large, she is also a Titaness-”
“Not helping”
“Yup”
More awkward silence filled the space between you before the gnawing feeling of dread was becoming too much.
“So what happens to me now? I get Kronos was a bad guy but I didn’t have anything to do with what he did.”
Hermes sighed as his face turned sad yet affectionate. “My father Zeus has always been rather…judgemental but he is fair (at times). He won’t strike you down for merely existing since you haven’t done anything wrong. Yet. However, he doesn’t like the fact that Kronos has a demigod and he fears you could be used another host or as an extension of Kronos’ will.”
“So, I’m under supervision. I can’t mess up or Zeus will strike me regardless.”
“He is the king of the gods but Themis won’t let him break laws and order” he said, “and it may seem shallow for you coming from a god, you look like my son and I don’t want to lose my son again, so know I’m supporting you as best as I can and we’ll prove to Zeus you are innocent.”
You stared at Hermes and you started to see yourself in him, the fatherly persona now coming in and you wondered if Luke ever saw it. You sighed at the mix feelings but gave a tired smile.
“You know what, I’ll take it. Thank you Hermes.”
“Don’t thank me just yet. I haven’t saved you or my son yet.”

Cabin Two/Being a Child of Hera would include: Headcanons
A/N: I didn't know that I would like writing headcanons so much. Please send me any fanfic requests if you have any!
-Ah, Hera.
-Such a lonely cabin.
-The actual cabin isn't so bad, but you'll be sleeping on the floor until Chiron finds you a spare bed.
-Yeah... this Cabin is not the most comfortable.
-It's cold ALL THE TIME
-Seriously buy a heater.
But it's time to talk about you! *Claps hands excitedly*
-You look like a mini version of Hera, which ironically makes you hate her because people were always comparing the two of you.
-Which is also why you're besties with Annabeth.
-She wanted to hate you because of your mother, but when she started talking crap about Hera, so did you.
-Let's just say she was pleasantly surprised when your response was, "I know right? That asshole."
-Pow! You now did everything together!
-Also Zeus hates you.
-But what's new about that?
General Headcanons!
-Hera's kids would have some of the same powers as the Aphrodite campers.
-Hear me out!
-They would be able to make and break relationships.
-Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut
-They play with the long game in mind.
-They want to make relationships that last forever, and they want to break ones that are toxic.
-Also teleporting? Hello?
-It's a bit like shadow traveling, except they can do it at any given time, any place.
-Just imagine talking to your friend and then they suddenly glow indigo and disappear. Talk about a jump scare.
-Anyway, the downside is that it's more draining. MUCH more draining.
-Remember that one time when Nico passed out for 2-3 days?
-It would be double that time for any child of Hera.
-Sweet dreams!

War of Rohirrim fic ideas I wish we had like yesterday
I'm terrible at writing so I just suffer with those plot bunnies but who knows maybe someone like them?
Haleth switch up:
The haleth 1 from silmarillion gets swapped (body or just soul both very funny)with the Haleth2 from War of the Rohirrim.
Both Haleths are very battle ready.
Haleth 1 takes Hera under her wing and and takes this situation to at least safe someone's brother. So hama lives!
You can even put some angst into this!
She is literally yeeted into the future, her clan doesn't even exist anymore or something like that.
She also travels with Hera and Olwyn around or becomes queen! Again many possibilities!
Haleth 2 takes very quickly care of the orcs. I so want him to get shipped with Caranthir too. That would be hilarious.
He also takes one look at the women around him desperately fighting and wanting to fight and thinks about his sister. They all now got a big brother who makes shield maiden out of them.
He also literally refuses to belive he time traveled. It would be very funny if he is in original haleths body and just goes with it.
Olwyn × Targg enemies to lovers/second spring/found family
I have multiple scenarios in my head.
1. Targg survives the stabbing and gets saved by some loyal wild men.
They die looking for food (he doesn't know that) he then is thinking about his uncertain future and doesn't know what to do. Hera and olwyn are traveling near him and get attacked by some orcs. They run. Meet targg. He kills the orc. He ask if they saw his friends. They are dead. Much sad. He tags along because he is usefull. Olwyn threatens him with a sword. He likes that. You know the rest. Push and pull. Sad backstories. Funny found family things. Hera basically gets a new cool dad. Foreboding. Meeting elves and dwarves. Exploring endless possibilities.
2. I call this Hama using that clever mouth he had.
No, not in that way. Perverts
He convince Targg too look closer at Wulf who is already very crazy.
Targg saves Hama and gets injured.
Targg becomes part of the Rohirrim and helps them. Again many possibilities and a other view in culture. Much sad.still ship him with olwyn.
3. New character or even self inserts!
A wild men/women disagreed with the kidnapping of the princess and secretly helps her escape. Time passes. Wulf is getting more and more crazy.
Some good wild men form a group and they leave to warn Rohan. Saving some of the people or even Haleth! Nice.
Perfect scenario for every ship you want except wulf. Deep dive to some cool culture and different views! Cool wild men armor. Food. You can go nuts with this one.
Wulf redemption
Wulf dies. Sees his life and his treatment and his wrong doings. He gets a second chance. He is not suddenly 100% good but he feels really bad how he literally destroyed everything around him. Let him see hera defend him. Targg talking calmly to him and being loyal and he ruined everything. Angst. But a chance!
A new try. He saves his dad(because he loves him) and still gets banned but now he is not the one that starts a war. Shit it is his dad! Going crazy and very dangerous. Wulf leaves him. He is devastated. everything is worse then before. But surprise! Targg comes with him! (Wulf cries a little here)
Wulf know tries to warn Rohan but that is very difficult when you are banned. He tries to get to Frealaf thinking he is the most calmest but meets Haleth on a accident.
Haleth is wary but takes the threat serious. He also sees wulf disheveled looks and decided to basically become his brother-hen (motherhen but MANLY)
This is a healing fic with no shipping. Just bromance. Wulf realizing that Hera does love him but not in a romantic way. He gets a new family.
I want him to die dramatically to save Hera and he kills his dad or something.
Wulf moves on with a light heart.
That's all that is running around in my head.
I want those fics on next Monday yes ❤️
No please if someone see this and wants to use that just go ahead and send me a link please!!! I want to read everything!

God Games
I absolutely love this song. It’s fun, it’s catchy, and the visuals on the livestream were spectacular!
And speaking of the visuals, I have some thoughts to share that seized me just after the livestream.
Before we begin though, I do want to say that I do love the animated visuals we got in the stream! They are all so beautiful and I could NOT look away! Zeus going Beast Mode? Amazing. Athena fighting her way up the stairs? Aweing.
So this is in no way criticizing the visuals, or Jorge’s vision of them! I just want to share something I think is cool, and wanted to share :3
@gotstabbedbyapen i think you might like this too >:3
In short, I think it would have been cool if the other gods had been involved in the final part of God Games- but not in the way you think.
Hear me out.
Long version:
Let me set the scene. Let's see if I can explain the visuals in my head.
We're at the moment Zeus goes Beast Mode. He's going "THUN-DER, BRING. HER. THROUGH. THE. WRINNGEERRR" you know the part.
and as "SHOW HER I'M THE JUDGEMENT CALL, THE ONE WHO MAKES HER KINGDOM FALL" is said, we flash between Apollo, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Ares, and Hera, before landing on Athena, all looking up at the thundering god, wind rushing around them.
They are all wearing various levels of worry/concern/"uh-oh", because Zeus has gone Beast Mode...and then Athena gets struck.
We cut to Ares saying, and looking distinctly concerned, "Is she dead?"
Camera pans out to show Athena lying on the ground, smoke coming off of her, deeply injured.
The slow Warrior of the Mind motif plays. Apollo's the first to move, checking on her, and we slowly zoom onto Athena's face as she blearily opens her eyes.
Camera change: we're now in Athena-vision. Everything is blurry. Then the faint outlines of Odysseus, Penelope, and baby Telemachus (like in the livestream) slowly come into focus. They get clearer, and towards the end of the slow motif, Athena blinks, blinks again, and we have a clear image of all five of the gods hovering over her.
The music swells. Apollo offers his hand out to her, and Athena grasps it. She clasps Hephaestus's next, and Aphrodite and Ares take her arms, while Hera does so from behind.
They help her up, Athena leaning a bit on the others as she stares at Zeus, who has calmed down, and looking at them.
Athena, bleeding heavily, still says; "Let him go, please. Let him go." And passes out.
End scene.
It's a lot more dramatic in my head (as all things are) but I hope this is all cohesive! XD
So why do I like this idea?
Because it shows that the gods have solidarity. As much as they hurt each other, they do, in fact, love each other too. The five gods in God Games know that Athena won fair and square, and that Zeus is being unreasonable. And let me be clear: Zeus is not a tyrant. The other gods keep him in check, which is what would be happening here. The five of them helping Athena would be enough to snap Zeus out of his rage and ego-trip.
Speaking of Zeus, this would also give him time to cool down and realize how rash he’s being, something he has done in the mythology! (ie, calming down before throwing Apollo into Tartarus) In fact, he's calmed down after the interference of other gods, so this would track well with the mythology too :3 (ie, Leto was the one who got him to rethink the Tartarus idea)
"But would the other gods even help Athena?" Some of you may be asking- I say yes. Apollo and Athena in the myths are actually very friendly with each other! Hephaestus and Athena were on the same side of the Trojan War! Aphrodite has no real beef with Athena, and while it's a popular idea that Ares and Athena hate each other, that's simply not true either. And Hera? She and Athena were practically besties in The Iliad. They all would help her, especially if it would temper Zeus's anger and stop him from causing too much damage.
Again, I loved the visuals on the livestream!! There is no doubt about that!!
It's just this juicy idea came to me after the live-listen and I've been stewing over it since :3

Lore Olympus Episode 265 Betrays the Series' Own Messages of Consent
I've been keeping it on the down low lately with new episodes of LO, both for the sake of my mental health and because LO itself has just become so... pointless and boring. There's only so much to say when nothing is happening, and in that regard, I will preface this with a "congratulations" towards Rachel, because she's finally found a way to best the "haters" - make the comic so boring that there's nothing worth talking about to begin with.
At first glance I thought this was going to be another one of those episodes. Good job, Rachel, you managed to pad out another episode with pointless fluff to get you closer to that looming end date. Just keep dragging, just keep dragging, just keep dragging-
But the longer I sat on it, and read the comments and posts about it in discussion circles, the more I've realized that this episode in particular has a load of issues that I don't feel good just sitting on and not talking about. Primarily because, over the course of about 90% of this episode's length, we see Lore Olympus - and Rachel - slyly undo everything that ever mattered in its subtext about consent, healthy relationships, and strong communication.
Granted, Lore Olympus has never exactly been the poster child for those things, but it's trying to be, so we're going to dissect it with an equal amount of scrutiny. It wants to be taken seriously, so I'm going to take it seriously and criticize it seriously.
CONTENT WARNING: EPISODE 265 SPOILERS AHEAD, AS WELL AS DISCUSSION OF SEXUAL ASSAULT, MENTAL HEALTH, GROOMING, AND SYMPTOMS OF MANIA, PROCEED WITH CAUTION
Episode 265 opens with an attempt at plot progression, returning to Morpheus who, last we checked, had been targeted by Kronos as the cliffhanger for Episode 259 before being shoved aside entirely for multiple episodes worth of Demophoon, pool-fucking, and a vision from Hera.
Honestly, I won't waste my 30 image limit on the episode's opening sequence because it accomplishes absolutely nothing. And by the time it starts to try and state what that goal is, it transitions away, because Rachel has the attention span of a squirrel on meth and having Morpheus state what her plan is would just be too much dedicated writing for her at this point, she needs another week at least to figure it out.
So instead we get exactly what was promised in the FastPass previews - the entire episode is spent, yet again, on Hades and Persephone, with the exact same topics, conclusions, and terrible sex as the pool scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Seriously, this might be a nitpick, but I'm so tired of Persephone not being allowed to swear. We've seen other characters swear. We've even had Kronos call her a "dumb fucking bitch". But this "girlboss" character who we're supposed to believe has "agency" can't be allowed to swear even when they're in an ACTUALLY STRESSFUL SITUATION? You know purity culture isn't exclusive to sex, right, Rachel? If you're gonna deconstruct it, maybe don't have the poster child of that deconstruction be relegated to a church girl? She's literally the Queen of the Underworld - adjacent to the ruler of Hell - let her fucking swear LMAO
Anyways, we see very quickly that Persephone is still feeling the ill effects of her anxiety that she was feeling in the last episode. Anxiety that, by the way, caused her to pass out. Please keep that in mind, don't let it escape.
Tumblr media
And what is she stressing over? The genocide? The fact that they still don't have an actual solution to the ongoing "plague"?
Nah. The sleep dive. She's stressing over her husband doing the sleep dive again and - like last time - turning into a dad-possessed monster.
Tumblr media
As always, the fear and anxiety is in no way linked to the actual devastation happening outside - it's just concern for the main male lead, because that's all Persephone's character and thoughts and opinions and "agency" can revolve around.
But uh. Remember that scene where Hades got possessed by Kronos and literally strangled her? Remember that scene I just asked you to keep in your brain about her panic attacks getting so bad she's been passing out?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello? No? Okay. Next.
Tumblr media
I hate, I loathe, I detest this dialogue. Not because it's cliche as fuck - it is - but because the whole "I trust you, it's just xyz I don't trust" shit has been overplayed and debunked as a plausible response in relationship communication for years now.
We talked about this back during our discussion of Leuce - how it shouldn't matter if Persephone doesn't trust Leuce because ultimately Leuce can't do anything to her or Hades' relationship if it's built on as much "trust" as she claims it is, trusting Hades is all that should matter full stop - and it repeats itself here, albeit with Hades' dad instead of his canon first wife. This is a copout. Relationships actually built on trust can definitely still be worried about the issues posed by other people, but if you trust your partner, if you truly trust your partner, that's it. That's where the sentence ends. No shit you don't trust Kronos, we've been over this song and dance multiple times before and while he's definitely a bigger real threat than Leuce, your distrust for Kronos has nothing to do with how you're communicating with your partner who knows there's likely no other way and a solution has to be found. Nothing's being accomplished at this point from Persephone moping around and having sex with her husband, and he's showing 10x more initiative in actually finding a solution - even if it means putting his own safety at risk - than Persephone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I didn't edit any of that, those are the legit real panels. Literally what the fuck is this dialogue, my tinfoil hat theory about LO being written by ChatGPT is becoming more and more plausible and I hate that, my crackpot theories shouldn't actually become reality.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is there an owl in here?
Tumblr media
LO is just spinning its wheels over the exact same conversation and points that have already been made. Nothing is being accomplished here, it's just more moping and going over the same problems - the centre of which being "what about H x P's relationship?? :(((("
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All of that repetitive meandering and moping for "okay fine but if anything feels weird, get out" "okay". It, again, accomplishes nothing that couldn't have been accomplished during the pool scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And now we get this line. "I experienced greed in that way, and you do not possess it." Don't be alarmed if you were confused, I was confused too, as were many people in the discussion circles. Thanks to the ULO Discord, I realized she was talking about Apollo. She's literally comparing him to Apollo.
"After all this time, I can't comprehend you causing me harm. I've been at the receiving end of harm so I would know" is literally all she's trying to say. And even with it translated... I don't really like the implications of it at all. This has been a problem since S1, but there's always been this subtext in LO that because Hades didn't rape her, that somehow makes him less abusive or a better partner for Persephone than Apollo, that's all the SA has really been trying to achieve.
But Hades is abusive. He's intentionally pursued women who are in a crisis. He's trapped women in financial dependency. He's sabotaged women from having power and status on the same level as him.
And now, we're about to see actual abuse from Hades - the subtle kind that demands co-dependency, but is still abuse, full stop - but it's being framed as "romantic".
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Being an Originals creator was my big chance to prove myself, and I flopped"- wait sorry I misread. We're talking about Persephone failing at being Queen. Yeah, she definitely flopped. And it goes to show her true intentions in wanting to be Queen, now that she's hit rock bottom and isn't putting on a brave PR face - she wanted to become Queen not to make the Underworld a better place, not to be an example of being a better ruler among a gallery of scumbags, but to "prove" that she could belong and be one of the big guys, that she could be more than just a cereal box mascot.
Don't get me wrong, I can absolutely get wanting to rise above the odds and "prove" to everyone that you can be more than people's perceptions of you, but becoming the literal ruler of a realm that you then go on to destroy due to your own hubris, just to whine and cry about it and have your husband and your colleagues and your friends carry the burden of that destruction on your behalf... therapy would have been a better first step to overcoming those insecurities, not taking control over the lives of innocent people.
Especially when Persephone DID have status and power before becoming Queen, it just wasn't the specific kind of status and power she wanted. She was only a trust fund child with a huge net worth, a full-ride scholarship, and everything she could ever need provided to her with little struggle to get it - but she didn't have control over other people so it just wasn't good enough.
This is the perspective and attitude of a 19 year old who never matured. Who never could mature because she transitioned from her mother's control into Hades'. There were far better ways to prove herself, ways that we had seen her try to do, only to drop so she could pursue her co-dependent relationship with Hades - she gave up her schooling, gave up her apartment (which we only see her use maybe 2-3 times), gave up so many of her connections and support so she could be with Hades.
This is the result of 5 years of real-time grooming that we're seeing play out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
No, you are just saying them because she's your wife. You'd be saying it to Minthe, or Leuce, or Hera, or any other woman in Persephone's position because it's not about taking accountability, it's about keeping these women in a position of submissiveness and co-dependency, by giving them reassurance that nothing they ever do is wrong and that he's the only one that can give them that freedom from consequences.
And then we get the reinforcement.
Tumblr media
I'm gonna spare you all the cringe of the actual sex scene (and yes, they do straight up go into having onscreen sex and it's... not hot at all), but here's some of the dialogue spoken by Hades during the entire sequence:
Tumblr media
Again, let's remember the actual situation that led up to this and the position Persephone is currently in. For the third time Persephone has "accidentally" killed thousands of people. Over the past few episodes we've seen her try to realize how so many of these problems have been her fault and she clearly doesn't know how to make things right (and Rachel has made it obvious how much she doesn't want you to agree with this kind of self-awareness because much of it is being said through the mouthpiece of a rapist). And now we have Hades, reinforcing the thought patterns that would prevent her from growing and learning and changing. In this, a comic that's supposed to be "feminist", a comic that's trying to preach the importance of consent, a comic that's trying to make us believe this is a healthy, consenting relationship with strong communication skills.
These are literally grooming tactics. Hades is reinforcing the same thought patterns that will prevent Persephone from acknowledging her errors and mistakes. People are dying and Hades is telling her that if anyone has anything to say about it, they deserve to die anyways. The same man who literally rewarded her with sex for vandalizing a nymph's home is now telling her that she's not cruel, but kind:
Tumblr media
Hades might not be Apollo, but he literally choked her out less than a week ago while possessed by his dad, and for the last SEVERAL episodes he's had the starry skin making him resemble who? Oh yeah, his dad.
Hades is literally holding Persephone in the same position Kronos did, while she's experiencing a literal meltdown that she's trying to stuff deep down - in fact, exhibiting a LOT of symptoms of mania - and initiating sex.
Doesn't this feel a little familiar?
Oh right, but he asks her if she's "still okay" mid sex only AFTER initiating chokehold sex with her without her consent and love-bombing her, so it's fine, clearly.
Tumblr media
I remember being 17 years old and reading Fifty Shades of Grey for the first time, and even then understanding fully how toxic their relationship was. I can only hope the teenagers in Rachel's comment section can realize that as well, but judging by the comment section, I'm not holding out hope. This is literally "fifty shades of fucked up" material, and what's worse is that I can't tell if Rachel genuinely thinks this is healthy, or just doesn't realize how unhealthy it's coming across as. Even beyond how "cringe" this sequence is, it enters into the realm of being deeply uncomfortable and unsettling, and it needs to be talked about, Rachel can't be let off the hook for this especially when this is supposed to be, again, a comic that's intending to "deconstruct purity culture" and teach young girls about consent and boundaries.
Tumblr media
And that's it, that's the end of the episode. It reads like the manifesto of a villain in the making at the hands of a predator, like Anakin being manipulated by Palpatine - "so long as you're with me, you'll have all the power, all the glory, and everyone else will be crushed underneath your heel."
Is that really the message we really want to come away from LO from? That it's fine for husbands to initiate sex with their wives through trauma-bonding and reinforcement of toxic thought patterns rooted in grooming because... they're married? That being a "girlboss" means sabotaging and abusing anyone who you perceive as a threat?
Is Hades really that much different from Apollo? Because so far, the line between his actions and Apollo's are seriously starting to blur. The parallels between Persephone and his past partners - Minthe and Hera - have always been clear, but they've never been quite so loud as last night's episode.
This is Hades' play, the play of a groomer and an abuser who depends on making their victims dependent on them - taking advantage of women while they're in a crisis.
For Minthe, it was financial - she had lost her job, blamed it on him, and he found a way to "solve her problem" that strategically put her into a position where she had to continue to financially depend on him for what's assumed to at least be a year or longer, through her apartment, her bills, and her job.
For Hera, it was emotional - she had chosen Zeus over him, and instead of addressing her marital concerns within the marriage, she participated in an affair with Hades in an attempt to have what she could have had if she had chosen Hades instead, a man who resembles her own abuser. Not only did this put her into a much more vulnerable position than him - if the affair was found out, Hera would have suffered the consequences far more than Hades - but it's also manifested itself into Persephone, who Hera has been using as a stand-in for herself, even going so far as to manipulate Persephone's image and how she goes about her decision-making, from intentionally pulling the strings to get Persephone a job with Hades so she could get closer to him as a "test" for Hades, to forcing Persephone to wear a wedding dress she wanted her to wear over the one Persephone had actually picked out herself.
And now there's Persephone, the newest addition to the cycle of abuse and untreated trauma, the true culmination of Hades' years trapping and manipulating women - financially dependent on him, emotionally dependent on him, and only where she is because she's made her entire identity revolve around him.
I'm not going to psychoanalyze Rachel in any way, I don't want anyone to think that this is permission to do so because Rachel's personal life is her own and I want to examine the material rather than the person. But so much of LO gives me such a gross impression that Rachel herself never matured past middle school, that she never grew beyond the mindset of being a 13 year old girl who felt like the entire world was against her and that no one could understand her, that she never gained the perspective most adults do by the time they're 25 at minimum after they've entered the "real world" and had the lived experiences that make you realize "wow, that girl I hated in high school for stealing my crush from me probably wasn't as bad as I thought she was and we were all just teenagers trying to navigate the hellscape that is adolescence."
And instead of actually analyzing those thought patterns and mindsets, Rachel is instead reinforcing it in her own audience of 13 year old girls and teenagers who will only hopefully maybe outgrow it and not just repeat the cycle themselves.
And this isn't entirely on Rachel's shoulders. It's on the shoulders of E.L. James, of Stephanie Meyer, of Colleen Hoover, of every "young adult" romance author who's peddled this strictly heteronormative "submission culture but not like the 1950's kind I swear" crap, that women should only aspire to find the richest man they can bag in their pursuit for power and after that everything in the world is owed to them and any problem they have can be solved by riding dick. Trauma? Solved. Genocide? Solved. The very real consequences of your own actions that affect others to such a degree that it will be felt for decades? Solved. Just ride that dick and get that money, girlboss.
Just like 50 Shades of Grey, if Lore Olympus was any other story, it would be a tragedy. It would be a masterclass in understanding and showcasing the signs of emotional abuse, financial abuse, grooming, trauma-bonding, love-bombing, and enforcing co-dependent habits for the sake of trapping people. It would be a precautionary tale to young girls to stay alert and be wary of older men, that men like Hades are depending on girls to fall for their tricks, their praise, their affirmations that they're so mature for their age, that they're not like other girls, that they would just be so set for life if they spent all their time and attention with them, so that they can "have it all".
I can only hope that even a third of the young girls who read LO naturally grow up, gain perspective, and learn that LO isn't the pillar of healthy relationships and consent that it tries to be. It's certainly a common thing to see these days, for people to join the UnpopularLoreOlympus / #antiloreolympus community with sentiments that they started reading it at age 14 and then (thankfully) learned that what LO was preaching wasn't healthy.
But for every other girl who doesn't realize this, it's reinforcement of the same cycles - the cycle of women being only objects for sex, pitting themselves against one another, confusing gender empowerment with abuse towards others, and making their entire identity revolve around a man and justifying it as healthy so long as it makes them rich and powerful.
Even if Rachel some day gets her own head out of her ass and realizes what damage she's causing in her audience, like Persephone committing genocide, no amount of self-awareness will undo the consequences. She'll still have the awards, the money, the accolades, everything she's gained off the backs of Greek myth, feminism, and good faith from an immature audience who doesn't know any better and isn't being given the tools to understand.
Even if she realizes that, that's something she's going to have to live with for the rest of her career.
And it's a fucking tragedy.

Chapter One of the tentatively named
Days of Ultramar.
I have no idea how many chapters, but several for sure.
Ellie (Ellicent) belongs to @justanothermemestrider Thanks for letting me borrow her. Gadriel is getting her back just fine, don’t worry. 😄
Honestly, everything aches. But Mirian keeps the smile on her face as she makes her way through the corridors. Years of being reminded she is a Valerius telling her not to show weakness. The expression on her face probably shows more strain than she likes.
The Fortress of Hera looks quite unchanged from her memories. But the different faces is a stark reminder that she is ten thousand years in the future. She can scarcely believe it. Pushing the thought back into a box. If she dwells on it too much she might break down in tears right in the middle of the Fortress.
Finally she arrives at Guilliman’s office door. Knocking firmly on the ornate surface. In no time there is a very deep voice telling her to come in.
Roboute’s eyes widen as his eidetic memory provides a name he has not thought of for a long time. He finds himself standing up. “Mirian? Lady Mirian Valerius?”
The smile on her face brightens, becoming less strained. “Roboute Guilliman. It’s been a long time.”
He rounds his desk with surprising speed for his massive size. Roboute was always tall, but this makes her feel as small as a bug. Especially as he takes her hand and kisses it gently, like a gentleman. His hand could crush both of hers.
“It seems things have changed considerably since I was last here.” She smiles.
At his urging, she tells a story that makes Roboute’s blood boil. Though she doesn’t state it in so many words, it is clear to him that the Inquisition has been less than kind.
He finds himself promising to do everything he can to aid her. She might not be one of his brothers, but here is another person who remembers Ultramar that was. That is something.
She nods. “I’m grateful, Roboute.” Retrieving an ancient dataslate from inside her dress. “I was not the only one thrown into this future. The crew and other passengers will need support to make ourselves a place in this millennium.”
Taking the dataslate, he muses that she is definitely a daughter of House Valerius. They always looked after their own people. Very well known for their philanthropy and dedication.
Reading her report, he finds it is concise and clearly laid out. Not something he expected. But it is gratifying.
“Of course, Lady Mirian. You and yours are more than welcome to stay on Macragge as long as you wish. The extra hands will be very helpful.”
Then, her face grows serious. “What of Calth? The Inquisition made some concerning remarks. I believe a lot have happened in these millennia.”
Roboute wishes his mother was here. She would be far better suited to explaining the utter shitshow of stupidity that has become of his Father’s Imperium.
He guides Lady Mirian to the visitor’s chair, retrieving a dataslate from a drawer. Pulling up the report on the state of the Imperium he compiled after his return, and pulling up the pages on Ultramar.
Passing it to her with a remark that many things have happened.
Watching her read in between his endless paperwork. That fair face turning so pale her freckles look black by comparison. He is impressed by how she does not cry. Emperor knows he wanted to.
Her slender hand reaches out, snatching the glass sitting on his desk.
Pausing with it halfway to her mouth she wrinkles her nose, voice shaky. “While I can use a drink at this point, this might be a little too strong.”
He chuckles ruefully as he takes the glass back. “Far too strong. This is Mjød, a drink from my brother Leman’s homeworld. As far as I know it would make you go blind.”
She leans forward, looking at him intently. “Roboute…how can I help?” Voice heavy with concern.
It’s been so long since anyone addressed him like that. Like a man, not a demigod. She actually seems to see how tired he is.
“We can talk about that tomorrow. You look like you could use some rest, Lady Mirian. I will have someone show you and your party to guest quarters.” He needs to focus. He keeps wanting to go scream at the Inquisition, and that would have horrific consequences.
She nods, standing up regally. “Thank you, Roboute.”
At this very point, an Ultramarine with a plumed helmet enters his office. Cato Sicarius. Who does a double take at the woman standing in his Primarch’s office. Even more so when Roboute introduces Lady Mirian Valerius.
Cato snorts, making a remark about how she is very late to her wedding.
Her explanation about a warp storm does little to mollify Sicarius, so Roboute settles for calling a serf to escort Lady Mirian. Before Cato causes a diplomatic incident.
Fortunately Sicarius is not immune to disappointed looks from his Primarch. Behaving long enough to get Mirian out of there.
Roboute glares at Cato as she leaves. Demanding an explanation for his behavior.
Mirian is glad to be out of there. That was even more awkward than she had feared. Thank goodness for Roboute.
Not wanting to dwell too much on the Marine who looked so much like her Chairon. But he can’t have been. Not with the way he had looked at her so blankly, like a stranger.
She busies herself seeing to the rest of her companions and crew being properly housed, their needs seen to.
This, at least , hasn’t changed. If anything Roboute Guilliman’s household seems to be run so efficiently it would make Tarasha Euten proud.
In the process she does run into a Marine named Uriel Ventris, with a delightfully thick Calth accent. It may not be her Calth, but something does remain of her homeworld. Not everything has ceased to exist.
Far too soon everyone is settled, and so she accepts Ventris’ offer of sharing a drink and talking about Calth.
The place he takes her to is full of Ultramarines, but right now she doesn’t want to be alone with her thoughts. She can deal with a few stares.
Chairon’s attention keeps drifting to the woman talking to Ventris. A baseline sharing a drink with Astartes is strange enough. But the things she speaks of…he is getting more and more certain she somehow remembers his Calth. Her stories are too familiar, so full of raw emotion. Bringing hazy memories of the past into clarity. And the more he watches her talk, the more it feels familiar. Like it’s almost a memory, one he can almost but not quite remember.
Something about that hair, too. The way she gets more and more animated.
Then Sicarius comes over to complain that a woman of her supposed status shouldn’t be drinking so much.
Her response makes Titus wince in sympathy. He is very familiar with the urge to drink after being questioned by the Inquisition.
As Titus gets up to intervene, Chairon feels a strange sensation of jealousy. Like it should be him standing next to her, protecting her.
Cato finally slinks away after she stomps on his foot and calls him on ungentlemanly behavior.
Leaving Titus and Ventris to escort the last daughter of an extinct house safely to bed. Poor thing. She was far less destructive than most, just talkative. Very few people would begrudge her a bit of drinking.
Chairon sits there for what seems like forever, worrying at the almost formed memory. It’s starting to annoy him. But it feels important.
Titus has to carry Mirian into her room. Between them he and Uriel manage to get her sandals off and tuck her into bed. That pretty dress will probably be wrinkled in the morning, but neither of them is going to do anything untoward.
“I’m worried.” Ventris admits as they leave. Titus nods. That is one desperately lonely person. He can relate to having lost everything. And she can’t even get any of it back. The passage of time is cruel like that.
“Should maybe introduce her to Gadriel’s girlfriend.” Titus muses in a low voice. Ventris nods. He’s met Ellie. She might be a good choice, as unforgettable and unstoppable as she is.
