Been a while.

Uni kicked me where the sun don't shine for the last weeks of 2nd year, but we persevere! (￣^￣)ゞ One more week and I'm free. (for the summer. falls over and dies)

Besides preparing for Artfight (as one does around this time of year, go attack me i attack back), I can proudly say I've been on a roll with sketches for part 4, as in like, they're all done!!! Whaaaat???

I keep seeing posts that are like "season 1 Tim would be friends with this character" or "season 1 Tim would make archives team watch trashy movies with him" or "season 1 Tim would do this, or this, and season 1 Tim is so friendly and nice with everyone!". And like. There is nothing wrong with headcanons. But I feel like it's very demonstrative of the larger fandom problem of completely ignoring canon to favour a carefully crafted, wildly spread and completely incorrect fanon.

Because believe it or not, season 1 Tim is.... not like that. When I first listened to TMA, before I had any interactions with the fandom, I didn't perceive him like this. Then I started interacting with the fandom, and I, too, saw this interpretation and said, "Oh! I'll add that to my belief system!". But I recently relistened to season 1, and realised how wrong that was.

Tim is "the hot one." Sure. That's canon, Basira said it in season 2. However, Tim is also an incredibly closed off and secretive person. And actually, canonically, he doesn't have many friends at the Institute. Which makes even more sense than him being friendly with everyone. He arrived at the Institute traumatised by The Stranger of all things, making him very distrustful of everyone. Yes, he became friends with pre-season 1 Jonathan "don't talk to me I'm busy" Sims, but Jon was also a traumatised person who was desperately looking for answers.

Sasha (who, by the way, I find is way too often ignored by the fandom) is the friendly one. Sasha became friends with Tim and Jon, Sasha tried her best to make Martin feel accepted in the Archives, Sasha is the nosy one who gets into everyone's business. Not Tim.

It genuinely does mean so much to me that All Might lived, and he wanted to live. Like being able to see a character so passively suicidal, who knew that his own death was coming soon yet did nothing to change its outcome, decide he wanted to keep on living? To decide that he would continue to live? And actually be able to live? Also subverting the trope of the old mentor dying after passing on all he could to his student in the progress, and ending up old and retired and happy. It's just so beautiful to see

actually (thinking) you know my biggest problem with the connor/isolde/circle option in redcliffe is that like. the mages just felt like too much of a clear cut "good guy" choice. which i always felt was a little out of place in a game where one of the biggest central themes is how being a leader is all about making difficult decisions and every choice you make involves a sacrifice. also its just kind of insane to me that in the very same questline where if you leave too early at the beginning the entire fucking village gets butchered because YOU DECIDED TO FUCK OFF ON A FIELD TRIP IN THE MIDDLE OF A ZOMBIE ATTACK, you're explicitly told time is of the essence and the situation with connor will only ever get worse if left unaddressed but you can just be like ok but what if i take a quick detour all the way across that damn ass lake and back. and then nothing happens. man teagan and jowan even all but beg you not to waste time like that because they dont know if they can keep the situation stable until then and NOTHING HAPPENSSSS

but you know what if something actually did happen. like if you decided to take that third option instead of making the hard call right then and there, then the situation Did get worse and when you came back to redcliffe the castle was massacred. isolde and connor survived but the guards, whats left of the servants, teagan, maybe even jowan got picked off one by one by connor's demon while you were gone. i think it works as both a relatively still altruistic option that saves the kid and doesnt sacrifice your personal ethics while also giving some consequences to your actions. its also just much more in line with how the game keeps beating you over the head with the "You Are Loghain. the only thing you can decide is how much of a bastard youre gonna be" energy of origins

wwx is the type of guy who always has 100000000+ yuan worth of items in his cart in online shopping stores but never buys ANYTHING like ever! so one day he leaves his computer open and his lovely husband lwj sees all the items on his cart, he decides to buy everything on it because if wwx has it in his cart he must really want it! and wwx needs to spoil himself more. wwx gets soooo freaked out when he sees his shopping cart (that hes been adding stuff onto for years btw) sitting infront of his door, acting as an extra wall when he tries to leave their house for something. he starts panicking bc he thinks he accidently pressed check out. he starts trying to return everything bc theres NO way he can justify spending that much money, no matter how much his husband makes. later lwj stops him ofc, telling him he should have everything he wants and if he wanted everything that was on his cart then he should have them. wwxs argument was there was not enough space in their house for all of this random shit (there definitely was) and lwj said with the straightest face ever
