Maybe you're just tired.

It's been a long day. Work was exhausting, has been exhausting lately. You can't remember the last time you didn't stay late, and you haven't been sleeping well, either. Always falling asleep too late and waking up too early. So yeah. You're tired. That's why you're crying. That's why your chest feels hollow, why it feels impossible to do anything but stare at the wall. Just tired.

Always so goddamn tired.

You hear the window open, followed by quiet steps. He climbs under the covers and settles in behind you, gently pulling you closer, and you let yourself relax against him.

“You okay?” Raph murmurs, nosing against the skin beneath your ear. You only give him a noncommittal hum. Not a real answer, but he hears you anyway. He always does. Just like he always presses a kiss to your temple. Always whispers sweet words into the darkness, holds you close with no expectations or judgement. And it doesn't fix things. It doesn't make it any easier. It doesn't help.

(Except it really, really does.)

Ones hands can tell the story of how they’ve lived… and how far they have come.

I’m a sucker for Good Dad Splinter ever since I watched TMNT ‘03. That rat was gifted sapience and his immediate instinct was kindness. I love that for him.

Rise Splinter lived a rollercoaster of a life, but as a Hollywood star he remembered the names of all his stunt guys and coworkers, and as a prisoner he cared for the rat that shared his cell. His sons are very close and physically affectionate, I think that says something about how he cares? That’s just how I like to headcanon him :)

It’s interesting to explore the idea that a seemingly monstrous transformation is what pushed him to be a kinder human

[I.D. Three panel comic using ROTTMNT Mikey and 2003 TMNT Raph. In the first panel Raph hunches forward, a tense expression on his face, and says "Ah, shell." Mikey, sitting cross-legged on a counter top next to him, says "Why don't you just say fuck?" In panel 2, Raph is shown from about elbows up, holding his sais by his face. There's an ellipsus by his head as he processes Mikey's comment. In panel 3, he raises an eyebrow and says "What is that", a question mark by his head. End I.D.]

Based on this post where I was talking about a Rise/03 crossover and how the cartoon rules for each show are different. And as per the movie, the Rise turtles can swear.

Y'know, I've really come to appreciate the fact that Leo doesn't give in and surrender his room to Mikey here.

Leo's no push over. He's not weak to the youngest's pleading. He's not going to give up what's his just because his brother was pouting.

Don't get me wrong - I love the 'Leo can't say no to his little brothers' trope. But the 03 version especially has always felt like a team of 4 equals, to me. Sure, Leo's the leader. But there's no rank, no seniority. Not like we see in other versions, anyway. *Cough. 07 and Bayverse. Cough*

They're quadruplets. No one's the oldest, no one's the youngest. They'll all go full Papa Wolf mode to protect each other from genuine threats. But they're also all on the same level as siblings.

No Little Brother Privileges.

No Big Brother Duties.

They're just Brothers. 4 Brothers.

Klunk! He’s just a little guy

I love cats, they’re so cute :) Wish we saw more of him in the show, but just the fact that they have a cat is great. Poor turtles need an emotional support animal for all that they go through.

Even though Splinter is a rat, I think he treats Klunk like a fifth son. After all, he too was a misunderstood animal who only needed kindness once, and the love that his Masters had for him inspires his own kindness even now.

The episode as a whole was adorable! Even though they live in the sewers and fear humans, the turtles still have a little community of their own.

couldn't believe it and i of course said yes can't believe andy's has some of my art ahhhhhhh

i wanted to do something special and asked what mushroom and andy's fav turtles were

mushroom is a big rise donnie and 03 raph fan!

andy's fav is rise raph but he also worked on 2012 tmnt which is why i drew ice cream kitty uvu

she would like raph

i didn't have the best markers i only had water based one which is terrible for blending

didn't have time to buy nicer ones but i did the best i could OTL
