Hibari wasn't a guy for wasted time. He knew what they'd be up against if he let anyone that close to him. Who better than someone strong to have in his life? Who better than the second in command in their family?

This was just a confession of attraction to the Storm guardian, as Hibari was anything but blind and could see suitors approaching Gokudera left and right. Lest they wanted to face the wrath of one pissed off skylark, they were better to back off, Hibari wasn't the type to share someone he had his eyes on.

However, he knew what this meant for someone like Gokudera who had to fight for the position he had, whereas Hibari left himself to be bound to nothing and restricted by no one, the aloof and ever drifting cloud that remained untouchable.

But if two people wanted something, they could fight for it, couldn't they? That's where the problem lies, their ranks could cause an issue and if the herbivore they both served deemed office romances out of the picture, they couldn't do anything about it. He wouldn't crush that dream for the Storm and had been fully prepared for rejection. However, when Gokudera asked for his opinion on the matter, Hibari was as always, brutally honest. "If I didn't feel the same, I would never have approached you. When I go after something I already know damn well it's what I wanted." He moved closer, bridging the gap between them. A hand that had seen far more bloodshed than he cared to admit, reached for the man before him, placing his hand over the other's heart.

"Unless you're too afraid to try."

Hibari would wait for an answer, but a man could only wait so long. If anything were to happen between them, it was on Gokudera now.

Weekly Writing Update #22 (December 5, 2022)

Well. I didn't get where I was hoping with NaNoWriMo. I managed close to 34K words written. Honestly, it's not bad. it's not a win, obviously, but after the month I had, I decided it could've been much worse, and decided to be content with it. Next year, I'll do my best to figure out a schedule where I'm not running myself quite so ragged between all of my writing projects and everything else I'd like to do and life in general. Hopefully it'll go easier! But with NaNoWriMo behind us, now the holiday stories are all out in force. Haha. Which explains why the list below looks the way it does. I'm involved in two daily Christmas drabble challenges, and then I have four holiday story ideas I'd like to write before the 25th, and then my annual New Years fic. I also would like to get back to booking Team Work and uploading older fic to AO3. I just decided to take this weekend off to get my head back on straight following NaNoWriMo. Soooo we'll see how it all goes. Wish me luck, please. i'm gonna need it, haha.

Hibari wasn't usually one to cry much, but when he did it was over Gokudera. It had been almost half a year since they'd even seen or heard from Gokudera. A bad break up and sudden disappearance told him something was wrong. He cried that night before leaving, Hibari had a bad feeling. The next time he cried was in relief. Gokudera had been located and was alive. He shouldn't have to worry now. But that wasn't the case, he was still worried when he saw the condition their Storm was in. He couldn't blame him though break ups can change someone. The third time Hibari cried was after another fight. He'd been mistaken and pushed the wrong buttons, he didn't mean to make Gokudera mad, but he wanted to be certain there would be no issues with his ex, an ex Gokudera had already moved on from. The fourth time he cried was for Gokudera, hearing about the past he went through, Hibari made it his mission to protect him always from then on. The final time he cried was when an order came in from Tsuna himself. Gokudera wanted his freedom from a family that had tortured and abused him, Hibari's next mission was to destroy them and retrieve a set of documents that would mean he was finally safe and free to start a life with him.
