Say... will that other one ever come back? He was objectively hotter 🙄 seemed more emotionally stable, too.
> Seems I’ve had quite the absences! I do apologize, not everything is perfect around here. It is quite close though.
> And that other one? Oh, don’t worry about it. It's nothing to concern yourself with.

The Teraleak has reached the Abyssal Ruins document, and we now kind of have a translation for the four mysterious symbols on 4F. We won't really know until an actual Japanese speaker translates the writing.
(The Bulbapedia page for the Abyssal Ruins had the decoded messages well before the Teraleak.)
For now, it seems (3) and (4) basically mean "the fruits of their labor" or pretty much "achievements". Kind of like the tasks of Hercules. The King defeated 1000 in one day, and befriended 10,000 in another day. Those are some big achievements.
Given the context of (6) referring to the king in the final message, it probably means "God Emperor" as in an emperor who is the link to God. I mean, if King Harmonia has the Original Dragon, it makes sense.
I wonder what the connection is between that and "1,000,000" is though.
Also, the document asks if N is the descendant of the king. We already knew there was probably a connection, (N wears the Relic Crown at the beginning of his coronation, Bulbapedia theorizes the last symbol means "Harmonia", the ancient King can also talk to Pokemon, etc.) but here's the proof in the development papers.
Still crossing my fingers for some deeper development details on N's Void Cube besides the current concept art. 🤞

AITA for taking my dog to sniff in the grass near an apartment building?
🐶 for reference so i can come back to it
I (20) am back in my home city for the summer while i'm away from college, and i'm staying with my family which includes my dog (almost 4f) who is the love of my life. she's very sweet and cuddly around people but requires a lot of exercise and LOVES to sniff around, but we can't take her to dog parks because she was a covid puppy and was never socialized properly and thus ends up pretty aggressive towards other dogs. (this is an us problem and i am trying to work on this with her this summer).
i'm trying to reinforce some of the training i did with her before i left for college, which my family hasn't really kept up. part of this is recall training, which she always responds to if there's treats involved. i want to keep that ingrained in her in case of an emergency.
there is an apartment about a block away from my house, which has this huge lawn right next to it and a couple of benches. i never see anyone there, but it's a really nice grassy area and my dog loves to go sniffing around there. since there aren't any significant triggers for her around, usually what i do is drop the leash (i keep it connected to her) and follow her around for a bit. i also always call her back every so often and treat when she comes to reinforce her recall. it's a fun time for both of us: for her because she likes to sniff and roll around in the grass, and for me because i like spending time with her!
today we were doing what we normally do when i heard some knocking. i looked around and saw an old lady in one of the ground floor apartments knocking at me (i knew it was at me because nobody else was there). once i finally made eye contact with her, she made this aggressive pointing motion with her hand for us to go away. she kept doing that until we left (i'm super conflict-avoidant so it didn't take much).
i'm worried that i might have accidentally broken a law or something. as far as i'm aware, anyone is allowed to just go hang out there. my dad says he's seen other people and their dogs there as well, and i also know for a fact that the building is pet-friendly as there are a couple of dogs who bark from inside sometimes when my dog and i walk by (this doesn't bother her). i also am never more than 15ft away from her at any given moment, and she's very well behaved and comes when she's called. the worst she'll do is pee on the lawn or poop, in which case i'll pick it up and throw it away. i think i'm a responsible dog handler, and i don't do anything with my dog that could potentially danger her or someone else.
so AITA?

Dungeon Meshi Chapter 20
We're finally taking care of that undine.
So yeah, Marcille did in fact get attacked earlier because she accidentally poured hot water on the undine.
Is everyone in this series low-key racist?
That's pretty cool how Marcille's staff can act as an external indicator to how much mana she has left.
Something about Namari having to leave the party due to financial issues bugs me. I'm not bugged by Namari specifically, I'm bugged more by the situation.
I've talked about my opinions on the Adventurers' guild from what little bits I've seen and my opinion on it has been generally negative and Namari's situation now makes me feel like the entire guild is just a scam meant to swindle adventurers.
It does provide various services such as corpse retrieval and resurrection, and it probably handles things like providing supplies and maybe building things like the docks in 4F, and it can act as a hub for adventurers to meet each other; but it always feels like the guild doesn't care about adventurers at all beyond what money it can squeeze out of them.
It should ultimately be the guild's responsibility to save Falin and if it isn't up to the task, then it should pay Laios's party to either recover Falin's remains or escort someone who can resurrect her.
I dunno. There doesn't seem to be any large or local government behind this. The Adventurer's guild could be a means for researchers, archaeologists, botanists, pharmacists, etc to get the help they need related to the dungeon, and adventurers should be more akin to salaried or contract workers. But the guild feels like the kind of business that tries to manipulate young people into doing free work for "exposure" and "because they're so passionate".
Marcille, these shenanigans are what I'd expect from Laios.
How forward thinking was Ryoko Kui on everything? We saw a mana herb in chapter 3 and mandrakes were introduced in chapter 4. They're close enough that Kui may have decided to link the two together when she drew a mana herb, but it's really neat how nothing exists in a void.
I'm imagining her writing her Dungeon Meshi bible and having a section about the monsters she wants to use with notes about what kinds of dishes they could be made into. Then there's a section about miscellaneous healing items, and at some point she looked at mana herbs and said "This one needs some background explaining its existence" and then she said it's actually a mandrake.
For once, Laios is the straight-man while Marcille is the one rambling inane methods to capture and eat monsters.
So Senshi's pot isn't just a cast-iron.
Namari said adamantine could withstand dragon fangs and break dragon bones. This had better be relevant when they fight the dragon.
I'm trying to think how Senshi's pot originally being a shield works. The best I can come up with is the original shield was slightly domed-shaped and the part that used to be the lid was the inner layer of the shield.
So yeah. This chapter confirms to me that Namari is a dwarf. I've praised Ryoko Kui a lot but now I'm disappointed that she's actually a coward. Why isn't she drawing Namari with the beautiful braided beard she deserves?
Namari tackled Laios with enough force to send him rolling and hit his head and he's suffering from it after the fight. His armor is dented where she tackled him.
This is the first chapter Laios's race was called Tallmen. Earlier chapters referred to him as a human.
When Marcille is peeling the tentacle, she's holding it with a cloth and it appears to be soaked in vinegar.
I'm going to take a guess here and say that a Tentacle got between Laios and Namari and stung them both at the same time.
Well it all worked out. Marcille recovered her mana.
Namari felt bad leaving the party in dire straits and learning they're eating monsters to get by made her guilt escalate even further. As soon as she tried the food and tasted how good it was, she realized that the party is doing fine and she doesn't need to worry.
Mr Tansu was concerned through this chapter that Namari might rejoin Laios's party out of some sense of obligation or guilt over their situation. All of them sharing the meal Senshi and Marcille made got them to understand that Laios's party is fine and they don't need to worry about them.
Even though it's better for Namari to stick with Mr Tensu's party both for financial and reputation reasons, I'm super bummed that she's not going to stick around. She has great chemistry with the party and there could be an extra layer to the basic story concept by having someone who might take an interest in using monster parts to make tools and weapons.
I think Namari is trying to learn a few things about the whole "Cooking monsters" thing. She's watching intently while Senshi explains something to Chilchuck.
Chilchuck says he's only helping because he was paid in advance and is obligated to stick around, but I bet there's more to it. This is above and beyond his contractual obligations.
And the other guy who left the party in chapter 1 is Shuro. Namari says he likes Falin and proposed to her. So now I need to know why he didn't stick with the party. If he has other connections, maybe he could have funded the journey to rescue Falin instead of leaving Laios to fend for himself.
We'll likely meet him at some point since he apparently is trying to save Falin as well.

Well after that heartbreak time to fill the hole of emptiness with lore
One thing I’m curious your opinion of is how the introduction of the Journey Pantheon concept actually makes way more sense for the graveborns.
You mentioned earlier that graveborns started popping up because Dura’s brother went out for milk, and that only lightbearers get turned to graveborns. If the factions are now split into entirely separate religions it’s easy to believe that the Maulers and Wilders simply have a different afterlife and were unaffected by the absence of Annih.
There’s also a graveyard in the Ashen Wastes with a whole bunch of mauler ghosts. Now I’m curious wtf the wilders get up to because I’m pretty sure Journey game them expanded lifespans as well…
Mmmm ~~~~theories~~~~
I hadn’t thought about that! In arena, there was a mage that died named Quaedam. He was executed for out of control spells before Annih evaporated, but when he did vanish, it allowed Quaedam to become the first person to ever rise from the dead. He dabbled in possible necromancy while he was alive, and used his magical prowess in the afterlife.
The Engraving story for graveborns is where it’s most well put together

“…and so they swear themselves into Quaedam’s service, joining the ranks of the graveborn.”
I assumed that back in his time of magic, the maulers and wilders were still just byproducts of possible immortality (I’m pretty sure he died during that time? Saldate fact check me please), and he doesn’t think they deserve immortality. Basically, quandale dingle racist
In Journey, it could be possible they made it so that each faction has its own afterlife, and maybe that’s why we never get Annih in game. Maybe he just doesn’t exist?? Or maybe there’s like a smaller god for each 4F.. Annih copium
I’m not actually familiar with what the Journey Pantheon is referring too! Maybe it’s cause I haven’t logged on in a while 🥲 could you explain more in depth? Thanks!

I know many people have said this before but the way Nathan was characterized is so realistically good. I relate a lot to what Nathan goes through and honestly wish he was real so him and I can be friends. Thank you for writing CYE and the whole series in general. With the way you write Nathan, if you don't mind me asking, what is the reference you used for him because he was the first person that was accurate!
Aaa, thank you so much<3 I'm so glad you have found CYE and the series and Nathan relatable, it means a lot to me and makes me really happy!
I'm not sure what you mean by reference, but if you mean the mental health aspects I used to build his character, I do have some specific research points that could be helpful. I also just recently posted about my personal vitamin deficiencies that most definitely have affected the way I describe feelings in my writing. As in, no matter what the characters' circumstances are or what's happening to them in the story, I will use my personal experience with anxiety, depression, "how life feels" to describe their anxiety, depression, "how their life feels". So, like I said in that post; ignoring what is causing Nathan's anxiety etc. in the story, if you relate to how he FEELS and how I have described those feelings... feeling(?), I'd recommend checking your vitamins lol.
I wrote in the tags of that post: "The description of Nathan's experience could and would still be rather accurate, even if you don't have these physical health issues! Depression and anxiety etc from a deficiency is still depression and anxiety. + When I write Nathan I have a set of mental health “maps” or “guides” for his character (like C-PTSD and CEN and OCD). Yes I use my own feelings and experiences to describe his anxiety etc, but his character is built around these specific mental health markers / trauma research / symptoms etc (like C-PTSD and CEN and OCD). So I'm pretty sure Nathan's POV would still look very similar based on just that research and ignoring the stuff about deficiencies."
I mentioned some of those mental health/trauma/character marker 'reference' points for Nathan in those tags. I've done a lot of reading into these topics and refer to them time to time whenever I get more into a Nathan's POV chapter where these things get more relevant. There's a bunch of old posts about my research on this blog too if you scroll down... forever hahah! (Go to the Archive and scroll all the way down to November 2019, that way you should be able to skim over most of the text posts that have some of my research. There's more hidden behind a few of the photo posts so you'll have to scroll through a bit more if you want to find everything😅)
I haven't really identified or "diagnosed" Nathan with anything specific, as that didn't really feel necessary nor even right to me. I looked into what his type of childhood experiences etc. could lead up to in adulthood and how they could possibly present themselves, and started building his story around that, trying to 'match' the psychology with his experiences. Sometimes I've also flipped the script the other way; After learning about a 'symptom' described in the research, I've introduced it for Nathan's character, and after that also included the circumstances that would've/could've led to him exhibiting that symptom. Often I also just wing it lmao; my writing is not medical information even though I do try to research a lot. It's all fiction, but with a psychology / self-help like twist? Or something.
Here's some of the research points for Nathan's character building:
C-PTSD = Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Emotional Flashbacks
CEN = Childhood Emotional Neglect | This was a big character source!
OCD = Obsessive Compulsive Disorder | Nathan has some tendencies
4Fs – Fight, Flight, Freeze, and Fawn Trauma/Stress responses | Nathan's character is built around the Freeze type (in his childhood situation, the other Fs weren't really an option for him; couldn't fight back, couldn't leave, couldn't change the situation by behaving 'well')
General Anxiety
Social Anxiety
(Self) Isolation | I also read about Hikikomori, and later about the effects of the pandemic Lockdowns and how those have been affecting us.
Chronic Shame
Mother Wound
etc.
Hope that's helpful if this was what you meant! Thank you again, I'm so glad you've liked my writing xx
#Thank you for letting me nerd out :)#Sorry if this wasn't what you meant lmao!#But yous got a nerdout regarless heheh!#Feeling emo bc it's been awhile since I've looked all the way back to 2019 on this blog#and seen all that old moodboard stuff#oaaaa#(Nathan's still A careful 'n slow to warm up child -but he'd definitely want to be friends with you too<3)

Typing Shaman King Charas
I'm rereading Shaman King and I like it SO I wanted to type them! I'm only on chapter 60-something, so I'll only be doing charas that have appeared so far in my reread. I'll be covering MBTI, Psychosophy, and Classpects !
Yoh Asakura:
For his MBTI type, I'm unsure whether he uses fe or fi...his morals aren't really talked about, and most people type him as fi because of this. Yes, I would say he has a lot of morals, and I do agree they come from internally (he has a habit of helping people even tho everyone around him tells him not to), BUT I honestly think his si is MUCH higher than his fi.
Yes, he's moralistic and kind, but first and foremost he is about reminiscing (idk if that's the best way to put it). He sees the past in a very subjective light, always gazing at the stars, living in the moment but not in the way an Se user would, he doesn't live in the moment he breathes in the moment. He's silent, steady, he lets the moment pass around him, instead of trying to directly influence it.
Because of this, I think he's ISFJ (Si-FI) though if you're a PDB-truther and only use IEIE stacks, I think Si/Fe>Si/Te, so, either way, ISFJ.
For his psychosophy, he's a pretty obvious 1F and 4V, preferring the physical realm and being as comfortable as possible with little care for his volition, preferring to follow others. 2E and 3L also makes sense, he listens to others emotions and is always there to listen, 3L doesn't make as MUCH sense but that's what we're left with LoL
And for classpect, DEFINITELY a breath player, honestly I could 100% see heir of breath, both because he's A. Very passive and B. Protagonist classpect /j
But for real, I'm thinking either heir of breath or sylph of breath, but I'm leaning towards sylph. He's actively trying to free the other characters (speciifcally Ren) but doesn't steal from others like a rogue
Full Typing: ISFJ (Si/Fi) - 9w1 - 972 - SCUAN - FELV - Phlegmatic-Sanguine - Neutral Good - Sylph of Breath
Manta:
Manta is for sure also an Si user, just like Yoh, but for very different reasons. Of course, he's very cautious and prefers the known to the unknown, but more than that he learns from what he knows. He takes his experiences and revelations from his senses, and puts it to practical use, which SCREAMS Si/Te to me. He's not as aggressive with sensing like an Se user, his more "down to earth"-ness comes first and foremost from his Te.
Also he's SO te/fi axis. Specifically, he has incredibly unhealthy fi at the beginning of the story. He's selfish and only uses his Te, referring to his dictionary as the truth of the world because it's verified facts.
For psychosophy, he's probably 1L and 2V, he HAS a dream and isn't afraid to go for it, but early on in the story he specifically listens to others and ignores his own wants. His entire story is about how he feels like he doesn't have a dream or purpose in life, which makes me think process volition, but I think it's stronger than a 4V would be. Also 3E and 4F I think. No real reasoning behind this, I'm just guessing LMAO
As for classpect, definitely a mind type. The mind-heart dichotomy makes a lot of sense for him, he has no identity and only looks at things through the scope of what is true. For his class, I'm not exactly sure, I think page would make a lot of sense but NOT mixed with mind...If I were to pick something good to go with mind I'd honestly say heir of mind makes most sense, with mage of mind and page of heart being a close second
Full Typing: ISTJ (Si/Ti) - 6w5 - 694 - RLOAI - LVEF - Melancholic-Phlegmatic - Lawful Neutral - Heir of Mind
Anna:
I think her Te is very obvious, but I'm unsure if it's dominant or not? I don't see much Ni or Si tbh so I'm leaning towards yes. As for ni or si, I think Ni, but I'm not sure? I haven't really dived deep into her personality, but I think she shows more intuiition than sensing in general so idk...also se>ne I think.
For psychosophy, DEFINITELY 1V and 3L, I'm gonna say VFLE, her 1V is obvious, always pushing those around her to be better and having a general leader like impression on everyone. For 3L, I'm mainly saying this because I cannot see her logic as process, so 3L's what's left LMAO
Classpect is tougher, part of me wants to say rage but that doesn't make much sense to me. Time or doom would actually work better I think, but I'm leaning towards Time. Not much is known about time, this is mainly vibe typed LMAO. I'mma go Mage of Time
Full Typing: ENTJ (Te/Ni) - 3w4 - 351 - RCOEI - VFLE - Choleric-Melancholic - True Neutral - Mage of Time
I'm tired of explaining so I'mma just put the rest as just their type and come back and write about it later LMAO
Ryu Typing: ESFP (Se/Fe) - 8w7 - 872 - SCUAN - VEFL - Sanguine [Dominant] - Chaotic Good - Knight of Heart
Horohoro: ESFP (Se/Fi) - 8w7 - 873 - SCUAN - VFLE - Sanguine [Dominant] - Chaotic Good - Rogue of Life
Ren: ENTJ (Te/NI) - 3w4 - 386 - RCOEN - VFEL - Choleric [Dominant] - Chaotic Neutral - Maid of Doom

it’s cold all the time in san francisco
I live in Northern Minnesota, for reference. According to google, the coldest average low in San Francisco is 47F. In December and January. That's a very warm fall day here! I will acknowledge that google may be off, as its lowest average low here is 4F and it feels like we have months in the below 0F category, but 🤷♀️
Out of all the cities listed as options, I will still take San Francisco. I might never need my winter clothes again!

Vaccine Supply Chain Critical challenges of the vaccine supply chain due to the COVID-19 pandemic had to do with cold storage, transportation, global distribution, and regulatory hurdles (Crommelin et al., 2021). Moderna and Pfizer both faced these challenges in scaling up and distributing their vaccines. This paper describes and discusses a few of them. First, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines required ultra-cold storage. Pfizer vaccine needed to be stored at about -70C (-94F), while Moderna's required -20C (-4F). These temperature conditions necessitated the use of specialized freezers and storage solutions. Since such infrastructure was not widely available, particularly in low-resource settings, it made distribution in some parts of the world very difficult (Crommelin et al., 2021). This cold chain, however, had to be maintained throughout transportation. This meant using specialized containers filled with dry ice and equipped with real-time temperature monitoring. The transportation process had to be resilient enough to account for potential disruptions, too (Olutuase et al., 2022). The global demand for COVID-19 vaccines was also immense, and this meant that both companies had to scale up production rapidly. There was thus an overwhelming demand for specific raw materials, such as the lipids used in the mRNA vaccine formulation, which actually faced potential shortages, and risked creating bottlenecks in the production process (Crommelin et al., 2021). Distributing vaccines across countries was also a challenge. Wealthier nations were able to secure large quantities of vaccines early on. Plus, each country had its own regulatory framework and approval processes for vaccines. As a result, gaining emergency use authorization or full approval in multiple countries simultaneously became a hurdle to overcome for both companies (Crommelin et al., 2021). There was also the challenge of having effective packaging, as this would impact the vaccines stability and efficacy. This involved using multi-dose vials, which had a limited window of use. The packaging also had to support the necessary cold chain conditions (Crommelin et al., 2021). On top of this, was the "last-mile" delivery, especially in low- and middle-income countries. In many places, infrastructures were lacking for this type of delivery (Olutuase et al., 2022). There were also security concerns, supplier issues to consider, and how to coordinate a global response. The unprecedented demand and high value associated with the COVID-19 vaccines raised major security issues, as there a real risk of theft during transportation, and the potential for tampering during both transit and storage. Enhanced security measures and monitoring were needed throughout the supply chain. Also a unique challenge in the vaccine supply chain management process was the specialized nature of certain components. Given the niche requirements of these components, only a handful of suppliers existed globally. This limited supplier base posed a risk: any disruption or setback with even one supplier could have cascading effects on the entire production process. Thus, addressing the many different challenges was not easy. Pfizer and Moderna had to work closely with governments to manage it all and ensure global coordination at a truly international level. Governments, international organizations, the private sector, and civil society all acted as stakeholders, coming together to support the production and distribution of vaccines. This overall collective experience represented the critical support that both Pfizer and Moderna received and without which neither would have succeeded. References Crommelin, D. J., Anchordoquy, T. The year is 2026, President Trump attempts to ban all peanut products after remember this time he nearly choked to death on one. Senators, though initially supportive, turn coat when Tech market trillionaire, and current head of DOGE, Elon Musk, reveals in a tense, riveting twitter statement, that he “likes putting peanut butty on his PBJ sandwy.” Followed by statements regarding peanut farming news outlets are legally required (by article 4f-Doge-Doge-Doge, or ‘freedom for real this time’) to refer to as ‘not racist.’
The sudden turnaround being linked to Elons tweet prompted an outcry, the third such instance in the last month, calling for an internal investigation into the policies of the national government. Twitter users began a barrage of comments decrying the notion that ‘Business guru Elon would ever do something so anti-competitive’. (Please be aware that under artificial 5f-to-pay-respects, referring to Twitter users as ‘bots’ ‘Elon Musk’s sock puppets’ or ‘The more Boring version of Evangelical Dystopia’ is a criminal offense.)
When asked for comment, Elon corrected reporters that “It’s pronounced PBJ. Not P, B, J.”
In other news, do workers really deserve financial compensation? And after that, we’ll show you how to justify a 4% increase in rental payments to your most undereducated renters. Stay tuned.
