the only series I've read that really evoke that Captive Princeish countries-on-the-brink-of-war, shifting alliances, spies, WHAT IS HAAPPEENNINGING vibe are The Masquerade by Seth Dickinson (The Traitor Baru Cormorant is book #1) and The Queen's Thief by Megan Whalen Turner (The Thief is book #1).

both of those series deliver a Prince's Gambit Patran Soldiers Arriving On The Field At Hellay jaw-dropper and are so SO satisfying. they will also make you cry LIKE a little bitch lmao

OH MY GOD ALSO??? HELLO???? C. S. PACAT'S NEW YA* FANTASY SERIES DARK RISE??????????? (Dark Rise book #1!!!) we're only on book 2 of 3 but I trust her enough to say: you absolutely have to read it now immediately. on the surface the plot seems SOOOO simple and straightforward (it's VERY pastoral English 20th century children's fantasy vibes, but it's C. S. Pacat so...) but thematically it's very similar to Captive Prince: dead brother angst, hidden identities, sexually fraught gold collars, hot blond bitches and WAR. and sis THEE twists. THEE levels. I spent 85% of the first book like yeah okay I guess I'm into this and the last 15% with my mouth open in shock. I read book two in one sitting the day it came out and transformed from a woman into a sentient scream. 10/10.

Firstly can I say I discovered your tumblr yesterday and this is everything I've been looking for for the past 6 years since I was first waiting for hollowpox ❤.

I was wondering what you know about the series' chronology, because I was expecting it to be like Harry Potter with one book to a year, but Hollowpox started halfway through mog's first year at wunsoc? Idk, are there any fan theories/confirmed info from Townsend?

As for the passage of time with the series, Jessica Townsend has mentioned a few different times that each book will not be a year. Here's an Instagram story from a June 2020 Q&A:

Silverborn is covering the shortest timeframe so far, as it seems to essentially just cover Winter. Based on the snippets and information we know, it'll probably start with the Black Parade and end soon after Mog's 14th birthday. My personal guess is that the series might end when Mog is finished as a junior scholar, so when she's 16? But who knows what the timeframe for the next 5 books are!

I do hope we get an epilogue with older Morrigan though. An early idea for the series was her as a crazy aunt, and I want to see Aunt Mog!

i think both of them would be quite argumentative while watching something, be it a series or a film or even a random youtube video, so law being weirdly quiet during one of his favorite movies would be a dead giveaway of his tiredness from the start. sabo wouldn't question it that much (even though he'd be a bit worried), and he would accept the weight of law's head on his shoulder just as easily.

it'd be only a matter of time before the gentle sound of law's deep breathing would lull him into sleep.

they'd wake up with their limbs tangled together and aching backs. sabo would laugh at law's confused-cat-like expression and law would tell him off.

You know I just realized that the sebmark eviction could be the equivalent of multi 21 in the ccc universe. I’m so unserious about this.

PLEASE incredibly funny concept ... i dunno how this translates but... okay bear with me

so its not quite multi 21 in that while sebmark are often at each other's throats they are also In Love but they are in fact an absolute disaster. I think that towards the end of them staying there, Mark lives on his own (Jenson has moved out) and Seb lives with Lewis. I don't think their eviction is necessarily a real eviction? more that their leases come up for renewal and lewis politely says to seb "find another place you insane little shit i love you but you and your boyfriend need to stop destroying the place every time you fight and/or have sex" ... meanwhile mark is planning to move out anyway because there is too much drama (and he is also getting complaints from his neighbours)

so seb finds out which apartment mark is looking at and snatches it from right under his nose and is like "oh you were going to live there? oh but i've already signed the lease" and mark is about ready to break up with him because what the fuck seb do you know how long it took him to decide on that place???? (it's apartment 21 in a complex with 'multi' somewhere in the name so he can say "multi 21 seb.") and then seb like scrunches his face cutely and is like "wait no... you didn't get the joke... i'm asking you to live with me"... and that is how they get 'evicted' for being too messy <3 (and subsequently move in together)

is this canon? who knows not me but it sure is fun to think about <3

Sure, my journals haven’t been published worldwide or even across all of the states but they did get recognition in Gravity Falls.

My research on abnormalities will not be a universal topic worldwide, too many different theories and beliefs for that to happen at least anytime soon, but I am more than happy for my research to just be used and taken into account by the people of this town.

As long as the people who live here can use my research and findings to be safe then that is all that matters to me.
