Leo looked defiantly up at the Shredder. A growl built up in his throat, but he held it in, for his brothers’ sake. Such an action could sentence them all to death. The Shredder stood, removing his hand from Leo’s face. “Bind them.” He commanded, and the foot soldiers rushed to do his bidding. A pair of shackles were locked around Leo’s wrists and ankles. He struggled, trying to get away from the soldiers and closer to his brothers, but all he achieved was even more soldiers holding him still. He turned his head, blue eyes resting on each of his brothers, trying to assure himself that they would all be okay. Raph was struggling against the ninjas’ hold, although the blade embedded in his leg pinned him to the floor. Leo watched, helpless, as Donnie and Mikey were chained in a similar fashion. He must’ve been lost in his thoughts, because the last thing he remembered was a sharp pain in his head, and the cold grey concrete floor racing towards his face. And then darkness.

Trick or treat!! 🎃

Here's a bit of turtle whump for you... Mikey fell backwards, tripping over Donnie's unconscious body, just as Raph cried out in pain. Leo stabbed forward with one katana and blocked a plunging blow with the other. He flicked a glance towards his brothers: Raph's shoulder was red with blood and he was on one knee. Karai loomed over him, driving downward against his sais. Mikey's shell was pushed up against Donnie's. A naginata held him in place, it's curved blade hovering just above his throat. Leo sensed movement and pulled his attention back to The Shredder. He swung to the side just as Shredder's blades swiped past his plastron. "Yield!" Shredder commanded. Leo lunged and his sword glanced off iron armor. Ninja continued to pour into the room, surrounding the turtles on all sides.

"Yield! Or you will all be killed." "Leo, don't!" Mikey called up from the ground.

One of Shredder's gauntlets crashed up against a katana and the other slipped past Leo's left hand, slicing into his forearm. "AUUUURGH!" Raph screamed and Leo glanced sideways.

A blade was fully embedded in his brother's leg. Raph stumbled back and was grabbed around the arms by a swarm of ninja. Shredder dislodged his gauntlet from Leo's grapple. "Yiel--" "I yield!" Leo threw his swords to the ground. Shredder's forward motion stopped. He stepped back. A ninja stole into the space between them and swooped up the discarded katanas. "Kneel." It sounded like Shredder was smiling under his mask.

The room was almost silent. Leo could hear Raph struggling against his captors and Mikey's anxious breaths. Leo grit his teeth and dropped to his knees. His shell rose and fell with his breathing. A group of ninja swelled into the space around him. They gabbed his arms and yanked them behind his back. "Leo..." Mikey whispered.

Leo turned towards the sound, but an armored hand reached down and grabbed his chin, forcing him to look up. Leo met Shredder's eyes with a steely gaze.

"You're going to regret crossing me," Shredder said.

The way he said it, it sounded like a promise.

While I do think using the four sword causes some bad physical/mental side effects, I ultimately think that the biggest drawback ends up being that none of Four’s colours ever do what he wants unless it’s a life or death situation. Four has a lot of work so he decides to spilt to get everything done on time. It does not go well.

Red and Blue both run on emotions so they immediately get distracted by whatever’s more interesting and leave. Red might eventually get back on track (if he remembers) but there’s still a 50/50 chance that he goes “oh but I don’t wanna do that now.. hope the others do it for me! <3”. Blue’s better at remembering but if the conditions for doing The Task are slightly Off it’s going to make him want to rip his own hair out so he just calls it quits. Green and Vio are more likely to actually get stuff done but the second someone asks Green for a favour he’s gone. He’ll end up spending the entire day running around delivering pastries or something cause people keep asking him for things and hes incapable of refusing. Vio will spend thirty minutes coming up with some sort of convoluted loophole to avoid The Task before disappearing into the woods for the next three days. He could’ve completed The Task in those same thirty minutes but he just didn’t feel like doing it in the moment. Four eventually reforms and literally nothing had been done. The real reason he keeps the four sword a secret from the chain is because he’s embarrassed about the fact that all the colours are literally so fucking stupid on their own

What do you think Odile does for a living? She feels teacher like to me. What do you think she would do post canon?

HMMMM THIS IS GOOD QUESTION…

ive seen a lot of people hc her as a teacher / professor so i!! think that suits her pretty well. specifically as someone who studies + specializes in different types of craft (that would be why shes so proficient in multiple craft spells. also how she was able to figure out the loops stuff, AND to find something that could prevent siffrin from looping back).

post canon i am not sure… i am always torn between how the party would handle things post canon. obviously they would keep travelling for a bit, odile alongside her family without the stress of. constant sadness encounters + a king to kill lol. i think maybe she would get to take her time, reeaally get to know vauguardian culture when not within. a crisis. as was her original intention.

eventually. EVENTUALLY. when the family settles down somewhere (i am a “they all get a big house together” believer lol) she would get back into craft stuff. maybe go back into teaching too—surely people would be eager to hire a saviour. especially though i think it would be neat of her to try looking into wish craft etc, as a long forgotten form of craft. to satisfy her own curiosity, for siffrins sake, or just as a way of preserving the countries culture in whatever ways possible.

qsmp makes me feel like a conspiracy theorist almost constantly. I see someone go "yeah bad almost exclusively chooses tophats in games when given the option" and I immediately run back to my conspiracy board and pin that next to the photo of q!slime and q!mariana saying they'll adopt juanaflippa because she has glasses like q!slime/q!mariana respectively under a sticky note captioned "??? the original spanish-english egg pairs were designed in a way meant to attract certain parents to adopting them???", that's connected by red string to a note pad page stating "how random was the parent pairing REALLY?" with nothing under it - which is then connected to a string that leads to several polaroids containing the ending(s) of the wall and the wreckage of the button, captioned "why build a wall that big only to have it end at a certain point?" followed by a string connected to a notebook page in the middle of the board reading "the illusion of choice?" - connected to several other seemingly dead-end questions and theories, as well as some slight stragglers only connected to eachother and not the middle. and then I look over my board covered in feverish notes and I go. yeah okay so I may just have like a slight problem

#uprooted #uprooted naomi novik #solya #marek #my main playlists dedicated to them :]#idk why they cought my attention in 2018 and since that year they have had a special place in my heart. sometimes throughout my day-#i realise im obssesed with them and they're not just some random characters i like. ive dedicated a lot of time on them #i wonder how my interest in them will be when i get older. i certainly know that i will miss them if i stop thinking about them #you could say they have seen me grow. i knew them BEFORE quarantine. they were with me DURING. and AFTER #they have been through so many phases of my life. its so strange.#they changed so much too...except Marek. he still looks the same I imagined him in 2018. solya is definitely different tho #but i do think i have a different more in depth understanding of both characters #even if the words i read in 2018 are still the same now that i look back at the book. they were so many things unsaid but if u looked-#closely you could understand them. solya and marek as individual characters have so much depth...even if its not explicitly said #or maybe its just me reading between the lines too much. i wish i just knew more about them. this is getting so long-#but I got a bit nostalgic. is crazy how i was just a child and somehow even tho solya was just the total opposite of the type of characters-#i like there was something in him. something that made me look at him. and i think thats actually so in character of him #i think that in the book even if someone didnt like him. it was still hard to look away because he stood out from the rest.#there was definitely something about him that attracted people. or else how would have he gotten so far in his schemes?#I may be overanalyzing it. but i love the Falcon so much. and i do like marek a lot as a character. i find him very interesting. i know he-#did bad. terrible. things i like him as a character. not as a person.#i wish i could have seen what was going on in that damaged mind of his...#analyzing his behavior its so entertaining to me. i love making up scenarios where he is at his worst. im not gonna lie #marek suffering and then finding comfort in not comforting things is one of my favorite headcanons.#his obssesion with his mother is also a very important part of his character (ofc) and i love imagine him doing things related to that #thinking about the ways their personalities connect and make them have a very toxic bond keeps me up at night..they made each other worst #and we actually never see that in depth in the book. everything is so subtle but my crazy brain can find the signs in any part #i will stop this rant here. i feel its so long and if i made any spelling mistake i apologise to my future self (probably my self from-#tomorrow) because i know i won't be able to fix the misspelling and that will stress me SO MUCH.#future self please dont stress about it. just be happy. and enjoy thinking about these insane characters

little man is so cute hes been coming to me for help sounding out words and i taught him a 'trick' so he doesnt forget them on his way back. the trick is just 'repeat the letters while youre walking back so you dont forget' but hes treating me like im the smartest person on the planet for coming up with this

#and it also means i can hear him chanting P O T I O N the entire way back to his room #its sweet im glad he comes 2 me for spelling help... hes honestly rly good its just some tricky ones that get him where its like. the ones #you just have to memorize how theyre spelled bc sounding out doesnt help #like heavy or potion. bc heavy just has an eh sound so he didnt know abt the a and potion has a sh sound so the t was unexpected #but hes rly good at sounding it out and like. it just makes me a bit sad bc my dad gets so snappy when weeman asks for help w spelling #like. he does the sound it out but my dad just has this like. Tone. and he cant just be like. calm #hell be like No thats not right and its like ok this isnt helping #its so easy to just be like Oh i see why you thought that but its actually a bit of a trick one...#like. its not that hard to just sympathize with it and little man responds so well to it like. just saying like Oh yeah i mess up on that #one too. makes him way more likely to keep asking for help and it doesnt make him feel like hes being insulted or anything. i don't care if you don't like the way i characterized someone in my story!! shut up and get a better hobby than hating on something someone has spent hours creating and pouring love into and accusing them of hating one of their favorite characters because you think that the fic they wrote FOR FUN and NOT FOR YOU is bad characterization/makes the character flawed in a way that you don't like because you have a poor understanding of what makes fanfiction fanfiction (and also humans human tbh lol). sure, they're maybe more flawed than in the actual show, but THATS THE FUCKING POINT OF FANFICTION!!! IS THAT ITS NOT A REAL PART OF THE SHOW!!! AND ITS WRITTEN!!! FOR FUNNNNN!!!!!
