so while reading The Dawn Of The Future, I was considering why Ardyn was ‘evil’ in the main game. This dude got pissed off at a 20 year old who looked like his brother from 2000 some odd years ago because he was the chosen one. Also note that this 20 year old had a fiancé who looked just like Arryn’s fiancé, and just went “fuck you bitch, I’m gonna kill you now.” This fucking hobo Jesus looking fucker was just pent up with rage so he killed off his family 2000 years later.

Nonetheless, the right side polls will air next Wednesday (August 30th) at 5 PM.

Oh my fuck DotF did actually circle round to address who the Crystal chose for real (Ardyn). Thank god I was about ready to start pulling my damn hair out

DotF has taken some very, very choice wording:

“Her gaze had been so sharp, he thought it might bore straight into his skull and see the truth buried there. But his entreaty made it waver and fall. Somnus imagined the nights Area spent without sleep, wracked with worry for her beloved. The brief moment of uncertainty was all he needed.

“I would send for my brother,” Somnus announced.

“You know he would not come.”

“If my envoy bears a message from the gods, he will believe. He will come.”

Aera’s gaze lowered still farther. After a moment, she looked back up, staring directly into his eyes.

She seemed to have reached a decision.

The way I’m reading this is that Somnus is telling Aera ‘heeeyyyyy, I want my brother here, you want my brother here, he’ll come if we just tell him he was chosen’ and Aera seems to crack and fold because she loves Ardyn. She’s worried about him.

But it remains entirely unclear who was *actually* chosen. Just that Aera and Somnus are gonna send a message to Ardyn claiming he was chosen.

Does this come back up more definitively down the line? I hope it does. I will be losing my ever loving marbles I think if it doesn’t.
