Augh, I hate that Ao3 sets the publication date of a drafted document as whenever that doc was created instead of when you actually post it. If I forget to fix the stupid date thing (which can't be set to a future date, so you have to remember to do it on the day of posting), then everyone who bookmarked my fic completely misses the update!
#eel speak#fandom#writer problems#i know this is on me for forgetting but it's fragging irritating that i can't set the stupid date thing to the future date i want to post i#or that it doesn't auto-set itself to the date of publication when it's published. either one of those things would solve this

Update on "No Fandom" tags
AO3 Tag Wranglers recently began testing processes for updating canonical tags (tags that appear in the auto-complete and the filters) that donāt belong to any particular fandom (commonly known as No Fandom tags). We have already begun implementing some of the decisions made during the earliest discussions. By the time this post is published, you may have already noticed some changes we have made.Ā Several canonical tags are slated to be created or renamed, and we will also be adjusting the subtag and metatag relationships between some tags to better aid Archive users in filtering.Ā Please keep in mind that many of these changes are large and require a lot of work to identify and attach relevant tags, so it will likely take some time to complete. We ask that you please be patient with us while we work! While we will not be detailing every change we make under the new process, we will be making periodic posts with updates on those changes we believe are most likely to prove helpful for users looking to tag or filter works with the new or revised tags and to avoid confusion as to why changes are being made.Ā
New Canonicals!
1. Edging
For a long while, there has been some confusion caused by the fact that we have a canonical for Edgeplay, but not for Edging which has led to some unintentional mistagging and other challenges. Consequently, we will be creating a canonical tag for Edging with the format Orgasm Edging and this new canonical tag will be subtagged to Orgasm Control. Relatedly, we will be reorganizing the Orgasm Control tag tree to allow for easier and more straightforward filtering and renaming Edgeplay to add clarity. Youāll find more details regarding these changes in the Renamed and Reorganized canonicals section below.
2. Generative AI
We have canonized three tags related to Generative AI.Ā
Created Using Generative AI
AI-Generated Text
AI-Generated ImagesĀ
All tags which make mention of specific Generative AI tools will be made a synonym of the most relevant AI-Generated canonical. Additionally, please note that AI-Generated Text and AI-Generated Images will be subtagged to Created Using Generative AI. How to Use These To Filter For/Filter Out Works Tagged as Using Generative AI: ā Filtering Out: To filter out all works that use tags about being created with AI, add Created Using Generative AI to the āother tags to excludeā field in the works filter. This will also exclude works making use of the subtags AI-Generated Text and AI-Generated Images. If you wish to exclude either the Images or Text tags only, you can do so by excluding either AI-Generated Text or AI-Generated Images.
āļø Filtering For: Add Created Using Generative AI to the āother tags to includeā field in the works filter. This will also automatically include the works making use of the subtags AI-Generated Text and AI-Generated Images. If you wish to filter for Images or Text only, you can do so by including either AI-Generated Text or AI-Generated Images only .
As a reminder, the use of these tools in the creation of works is not against AO3's ToS. These new tags exist purely to help folks curate their own experience on the Archive. If you would like to see more information about AO3ās policies in regards to AI generated works, please see our News post from May 2023 on AI and Data Scraping on the Archive.
Renamed and Reevaluated Canonicals!
3. EdgeplayAs mentioned above, we will be renaming Edgeplay to clarify the tag's meaning, given that it is often confused for Edging. This tag will be decanonized and made a synonym of Edgeplay | High Risk BDSM Practices. It will be removed as a subtag of Sensation Play and be subtagged instead directly to BDSM. Please note if you have made use of the Edgeplay tag on your works or wish to continue to use it in the future, you are still welcome to do so. The tag Edgeplay will be made a synonym of the new canonical, so all works tagged with Edgeplay now or in the future will fall under the new tag so that theyāre still easy for users to find. If you have made it a favorite tag, it will be transferredĀ automatically when we make this change.Ā
4. Orgasm Delay/Denial The tag Orgasm Delay/Denial will be decanonized and made a synonym of Orgasm Control to help limit confusion with the more specific Orgasm Delay and Orgasm Denial canonicals. Tags that are currently synonyms of Orgasm Delay/Denial are being analyzed and moved to either Orgasm Control or Orgasm Delay or Orgasm Denial or Orgasm Edging. The revised tree structure for this tree will feature Orgasm Control as the top-level metatag with subtags Orgasm Edging, Orgasm Delay, and Orgasm Denial. So, if you wish to filter for all these tags at once, you can do so just by filtering for Orgasm Control.Ā
5. Female Ejaculation Female Ejaculation will be decanonized and made a synonym of Squirting and Vaginal Ejaculation.Ā We hope this new phrasing will be more inclusive, clear, and make the tag easier to find whether users are searching for Squirting or the previous canonical. All current synonyms of Female Ejaculation will also be made a synonym of Squirting and Vaginal Ejaculation, including Squirting. You may continue to tag your works as suits your preferences, and we will make sure these tags are made synonyms of the new canonical so that your work can be found in the filters for it.
These are just some of the changes being implemented. While we wonāt be announcing every change, you can expect similar updates in the future as we continue to work toward improving the Archive experience. So if you have an interest in the changes weāll be making, you can follow us on Twitter @ao3_wranglers or keep an eye on this Tumblr for future announcements. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue our work!
(From time to time, ao3org posts announcements of recent or upcoming wrangling changes on behalf of the Tag Wrangling Committee.)

Book Terms to Know Before Self/Trad Publishing
Will continuously update. Last updated: May 2025.
ARC: Advance reader copy ā a special edition of the book printed before the release date, may still need finalizing edits. Meant for creating marketing buzz.
CNR: Closed No Response, when a query has been sent for long enough with no response to be considered an auto pass
Contemporary Fiction: A book that takes place in the present day, typically lacking in a genre. Centers around a protagonistās everyday life: work, relationships, and modern day struggles
Literary Fiction: Contemporary fiction but considered to have some sort of artistic valueātypically character-driven and introspective, itās meant to engage the reader in a personal or social commentary.
Magical Realism: A real world setting with magical elements. Typically, the magic in the world is unusual and a cause for concern for its inhabitants.
Manuscript: An unpublished piece of writing.
MG: Middle grade. Books targeted at readers 8-12
Monomyth: Another word for the Heroās Journey
MS/MSS: Manuscript or manuscripts
MSWL: Manuscript Wishlistāa list of an agent's next āwant to readsā, look under #MSWL on any social media, or the MSWL website to find.
New Adult: For readers just beyond young adult containing college-aged protagonists written in the commercial style of YA.
Literary Boutique: This is what small agencies tend to call themselves instead of saying "small". Usually they are very selective about their clients but are also able to give a lot more attention to each individual.
R&R: Revise and resubmitāthe agent is interested in your work but needs a hefty revision before they can really consider it.
SFF: Science fiction and fantasy
Speculative Fiction: Umbrella genre of fiction that breaks away from realityācan be fantastical, supernatural, futuristic, or otherwise imaginative.
Upmarket fiction: contains the lyrical writing of literary fiction with the plot-focus of genre fiction. AKA bookclub fiction

Womenās Fiction: An umbrella term for books targeted towards a female audienceātypically about female issues or struggles. AKA Chick-Lit
Young Adult: Targets readers aged 12-18 with characters around the same age. Most typically a coming-of-age story.

hello!! could you do 'in your absence' ignihyde version? >.<
āIn your absenceā with Ignihyde (including two OCās by the lovely @kokii-omii )
Idia Shroud
He refused to leave his room the day you left. In fact, he refused to even acknowledge you and your absence after you were gone. Of course you left. It was foolish of himā of anyoneā to believe youād want to really remain by his side.
Hearing any of his fellow students bring you up just leaves a dull taste in his mouth. Itās not like they even knew you. He knew you so much more than others, but now he acts like youāve never been a figure in his life.
Pan Nikos
It was all a stupid blur. He spent so much time focused on his fellow dorm members as the vice housewarden that he barely spent time with you that final week.
By the very end of your goodbyes, he couldnāt look any longer. When you tried to hug him, he stepped back. It wasnāt that he was mad at you. Truly, he could never be angry at someone so special. But after so long of living with the second choices, having his favorite person leave was a harsh reminder of reality. You were his life, but your life wasnāt him.
Peyn Algos
He was at the very front of the crowd when you departed from their world. With cloudy and confused eyes, he tried to look at you until the very second you were gone. And maybe if he tried harder, you couldāve just stayed.
The following days, weeks, monthsā he couldnāt focus on the times. He couldnāt focus on anything. He was practically on auto-pilot without a reason to pay attention. He wanted you to stay, but the idea of you loathing him was too much.
Ortho Shroud
You were like a second older sibling. Someone who genuinely adored him beyond fear. So of course, he wasnāt excited for you to leave his world. Still, you were going to be happier in your own world.
He would endure the turmoil of your absence and abandon if it meant you seeking your own happiness.
With this post being published, Iām opening my requests to Pan and Peyn

New Enhanced Edition - LACON 2008 - Jared's Solo Panel
youtube
Direct link to video. Link to YouTube channel. (25 videos available.)
Here's my newest video, Jared's solo panel at LACON in March 2008. (Jensen also shows up at the very end.) The video quality isn't the best and I couldn't upscale it, but it's at least better than most of the breakfast footage was. This audio is also much easier to understand.
Footage Gaps
Unfortunately Jared's panel has a LOT of gaps. There were about 21.5 minutes' worth of available footage. The vast majority of it came from the source in my example images below. Thank goodness for them, because otherwise we would have had very little content from this panel!
One helpful thing is that there were also a lot of fan reports, some of which were quite detailed. Fan reports aren't usually a very reliable source because of faulty ears and memories and biases, but having several reports meant that I could compare the answers each one reported on and pick out the common elements between them to get a likely truth. I also compared their reports against the answers we did have footage for so that I could see which reports were the most accurate and which ones had a tendency to embellish.
I took that information and, for the larger gaps, created single-screen slides summarizing what was missed during the footage gaps along with some related images. For the shorter gaps, I put a quick blurb in the sidebar warning of an upcoming gap and explaining what was missed. I had some trouble deciding how best to handle the larger gaps. I know some people will just want to focus on the video itself and not read a page of notes, whereas other people (like me!) may want all the details possible.
I tried to find a compromise by putting these screens up for only 30 seconds each. That may not be enough time in some cases, but there's a countdown timer at the bottom of the screen showing how much time is left before the video resumes. My hope is that people who want more time can pause the video and take as much time as they need, whereas the people who don't want to read it can fast forward a bit. I'm sure I'll find myself in a similar situation again someday while working on other videos, so I'm definitely open for suggestions if you can think of a way I could improve that format.
What's Next?
My next video will be Jensen's solo panel which took place immediately after Jared's. I have complete footage for that panel, but it was very short at a little under 20 minutes.
The combined J2 panel will be next after that, and I have full coverage for that one too at about 32 minutes.
As I mentioned in a previous post, the second half of Jensen's video and all of the J2 video will have some very nice coverage from Candygramme which I do not believe is available on YouTube. Newer fans or fans who didn't see the file share links back in the day may not have seen it.
Before/After Comparison Photos
A recap for anyone not familiar with this projectā¦
In December 2023, I started a project to enhance old convention videos. The project is mostly focused on Jared and Jensen, but there will occasionally be videos with other actors. I'm upscaling the videos when possible and making other visual improvements, adding extra content to clarify various references, and adding human-generated, color-coded subtitles so you can better understand the sometimes-chaotic audio. The subtitles can be auto-translated to other languages via YouTube.
My goal is to publish the best, most complete, and most watchable versions of these older convention panels yet seen, but this is only possible thanks to the fans who captured the footage in the first place and were generous enough to share it with other fans. My video descriptions on YouTube will always credit my sources.
If you have any old convention videos you'd be willing to contribute to this project, please message me! I can also be reached at [email protected]. If I can get them to upscale (I can't always), I'd happily send the upscaled files back to you for your own collection whether I use them or not.

An interview with then-European-F3 driver Alain Prost, from Auto-Hebdo issue 185, published October 11th, 1979. The quote highlighted, which I suppose could serve as an unofficial title for this interview, translates to "good for service" - as in, finally, it's F1 time for him.
Some of the greatest thing you can find in Ye Olde Magazines are interviews of legendary drivers before they reached F1 or whatever it was they did that made them legendary to begin with. Late 70s French publications had quite a wide array of talents to display - and in 1979, in an era where we had 7 drivers in F1 (and it could've been 8), the brightest and newest talent to be promised to F1 was Alain Prost.
Alain was always something special for these publications. Auto-Hebdo in particular would give him an interview at the end of every year starting from his victorious run in the Volant Elf in 1975, so this was their fourth. It's short, but in it, they do get to ask him about his feelings on his career up to that point, if he's ready for F1, and his "purgatory-like" 1978 season, among other things. A short but cool read if you can speak French! (I say that in all of my posts ffs)
Fun fact I forget to mention often: most of the interviews from back in the day have the reporter call the drivers "tu", which is a far cry from today where they use the much politer "vous" (it's a pronoun thing in French). It's not just F3 Alain that got this, even F1 drivers were called tu, and that to me sounds like a proximity we did kind of lose. Imma blame social media for no real reason.

will there / is there an option to hide yourself while scrolling on the "following" tab cause its really annoying [following as in relation to the "fyp" and "trending" tab]
Answer: Hey there, @wordsverbat1m!
We donāt support this, sorry. However, we do support auto-following your side blogs as a Labs feature. You can find the optionĀ right here under āInside Tumblrsā.
If your posts from your sideblog are annoying you can disable that option, but you cannot unfollow your own blog. This is because seeing your own posts on the Following feed is a standard practice and a way to show that your posts are being published.
We hope that helps, and thanks for your question. Keep them coming!

By Kevin Kavanagh, MD
(Follow the link to get all the links!)
Over the last month, volumes of impactful scientific research have been published regarding long-term COVID-19. These findings clearly describe our society's precarious state and the desperate need to change course. We must start controlling our impulses to partake in desirable but risky behavior and instead prioritize controlling the spread of COVID-19.
Most concerning was a large survey by Shijie Quin and colleagues involving over 74,000 participants in China that found the incidence of long-term COVID-19 in their country to be between 10% and 30%. The researchers documented recurrent infections and found that although reinfections were associated with milder disease, they were also associated with āa higher incidence and severity of long COVID.ā In addition, they reported that vaccinations reduced long-term symptoms by 30% to 70%. Dr. Ziyad Al-Aly noted that the reported symptoms in this study of brain fog and cognitive decline mirrored other studies from across the world. Long COVID is a worldwide problem that does not involve just one nation or society.
The dangers COVID-19 poses to health care workers were underscored by research from the Kingās College of London that found a third of health care workers had symptoms of long COVID. And patients are also not spared. NSW Ministry of Health data reported that in Australian hospitals, thousands of patients have caught COVID-19, and hundreds have died. In the US, we are handling this situation by burying our heads in the sand. We are not counting nor reporting health care-associated COVID-19.
Many of us were hoping that children would be less affected. They would become immune early, and the disease would burn out. These hopes were dashed by a recent NIH study (RECOVER-Pediatrics cohort STUDY) covered by Medscape, which reported that ā20% of kids (ages 6-11) and 14% of teens met researchers' threshold for long COVID.ā
Unfortunately, there is mounting evidence regarding the role that brain injury plays in long-term COVID-19. The finding by Shijie Quin and colleagues that cognitive dysfunction is a major part of long COVID was also substantiated by Catarina Rua and colleagues in the journal Brain, who documented with imaging studies persistent damage in COVID-19 patientsā brainstems (medulla, pons, and midbrain regions) 93 to 548 days after hospital admission.
In a highly controversial challenge study performed in the United Kingdom, 18 of 34 healthy young adults (aged 18 to 30) volunteers developed COVID-19 after exposure to the virus. One had an asymptomatic infection, and the remaining (17) developed a mild one. Comparing pre-and post-test results with follow-up at 30, 90, 180, 270, and 360 days, the research documented deficiencies in memory and executive function tasks.
Executive function relates to judgment, anger control, and managing emotions and actions. There is mounting research finding that executive function is one of the primary cognitive functions degraded in long COVID. Rosalia-Dacosta-Aguayo and colleagues have reported in 53 subjects with mild to moderate long COVID, 59% had deficits in executive function. Using imaging studies, the researchers documented that the cognitive impairment was ālinkedā to changes in brain structure. Of the 53 participants, 43 had mild to moderate COVID-19, 9 were treated in the hospital, and none were in the ICU.
Degradation of executive function can have a plethora of societal manifestations. For example, auto insurance is the leading sector experiencing the largest inflation in the US, which rose almost 21% in the 12 months ending in February 2024. Increased claims and traffic deaths have driven this increase. I would assert that this phenomenon is a manifestation of post-COVID deficiencies in executive function, which has caused an increase in risky driving behavior. In December 2022, Infection Control TodayĀ® discussed an American Journal of Medicine article that observed a significant increase in traffic accidents in vaccine-hesitant individuals. A 2024 study by the American Automobile Association found that risk driving spiked, as did an associated increase in fatal traffic accidents. A study published this month (October 8, 2024) in Neurology reported a correlation between COVID-19 cases and traffic accidents.
It has been shown that patients who experience disturbances in smell have an increased risk of developing ābehavioral, functional, and structural brain alterations.ā This virus has a propensity to affect the brain, including the prefrontal cortex. One of the first researchers to describe the propensity of this virus to infect the brain was Fernanda Crunfli, PhD, and colleagues, who observed infection of astrocytes. This was a surprising finding since brain cells (astrocytes) do not have ACE2 receptors. Thus, the researchers postulated a second method of cellular entry. This postulate was confirmed by researchers from the University of Illinois and Northwestern University, who observed that while infecting the lungs, the virus can mutate, losing its furan cleavage site, which enhances its ability to infect the central nervous system.
Thus, a picture is starting to form of an insidious, dangerous pathogen that, upon infection, can change the host's behavior to manifest risky behavior, increasing the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and repeating the cycle. Acquiring such an ability is an example of evolutionary pressure to enhance the virus's survival.
All the above is depressing but also largely preventable. Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu stated that if you do not change directions, you may end up where you are headed. We must prioritize vaccinations, use N95 masks, and clean indoor air to stop this virus's spread. Only then will we be headed in the correct direction.

Hey, you know how I said there was nothing ethical about Adobe's approach to AI? Well whaddya know?
Adobe wants your team lead to contact their customer service to not have your private documents scraped!
This isn't the first of Adobe's always-online subscription-based products (which should not have been allowed in the first place) to have sneaky little scraping permissions auto-set to on and hidden away, but this is the first one (I'm aware of) where you have to contact customer service to turn it off for a whole team.
Now, I'm on record for saying I see scraping as fair use, and it is. But there's an aspect of that that is very essential to it being fair use: The material must be A) public facing and B) fixed published work.
All public facing published work is subject to transformative work and academic study, the use of mechanical apparatus to improve/accelerate that process does not change that principle. Its the difference between looking through someone's public instagram posts and reading through their drafts folder and DMs.
But that's not the kind of work that Adobe's interested in. See, they already have access to that work just like everyone else. But the in-progress work that Creative Cloud gives them access to, and the private work that's never published that's stored there isn't in LIAON. They want that advantage.
And that's valuable data. For an example: having a ton of snapshots of images in the process of being completed would be very handy for making an AI that takes incomplete work/sketches and 'finishes' it. That's on top of just being general dataset grist.
But that work is, definitionally, not published. There's no avenue to a fair use argument for scraping it, so they have to ask. And because they know it will be an unpopular ask, they make it a quiet op-out.
This was sinister enough when it was Photoshop, but PDF is mainly used for official documents and forms. That's tax documents, medical records, college applications, insurance documents, business records, legal documents. And because this is a server-side scrape, even if you opt-out, you have no guarantee that anyone you're sending those documents to has done so.
So, in case you weren't keeping score, corps like Adobe, Disney, Universal, Nintendo, etc all have the resources to make generative AI systems entirely with work they 'own' or can otherwise claim rights to, and no copyright argument can stop them because they own the copyrights.
They just don't want you to have access to it as a small creator to compete with them, and if they can expand copyright to cover styles and destroy fanworks they will. Here's a pic Adobe trying to do just that:
If you want to know more about fair use and why it applies in this circumstance, I recommend the Electronic Frontier Foundation over the Copyright Alliance.

20 questions for fic writers
@panfriedstar tagged me! This was so fun, thank you!
1) how many works do you have on ao3?
ALRIGHT, Iām new to writing and posting fics so some of these numbers might be a little scarceā Iāve published 3 works.
2) what's your total ao3 word count?
91,284
3) what are your top five fics by kudos?
The 3 I have are ranked as followed: - The Apartment Above the Auto Shop - Heās only Sleeping - Good Company Which I completely agree with, Good Company is the strangest by farā
4) what fandoms do you write for?
Just One Piece! Iām into other stuff too but One Piece is particularly comforting right now. I used to draw a lot for Haikyuu!!
5) do you respond to comments? why or why not?
It is deeply moving to me anybody would want to A.) read something I wrote and B.) have such strong feelings about it that they want to take even more time out of their day to write me a comment. I try to answer as often as I can!
6) what's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Good Company ends with Ace horribly sickā itās defiantly not a HAPPY ending and pretty open ended.
7) what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Heās Only Sleeping has a pretty cute ending imho. Iāve never been a fan of SICKENINGLY sweet happy endings. No hate to the mega fluff fans, I think Iām just crap at writing it haha!
8) do you get hate on fics?
As much as some people really donāt like MarAce (which I get) Iāve been pretty lucky. People have been very nice on A03 especially.
9) do you write smut?
I sprinkle stuff in here and there! Iāve got exactly ONE āļøfull sex scene in my largest fic. I think after the auto shop ends, Iāll do some lighter one shots and Iām sure one will end up being smut. Hah!
10) do you write crossovers?
Nope!
11) have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge! I think Iād loose my shiiittt
12) have you ever had a fic translated?
Translated and posted in a different language? I donāt think so!
13) have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Not a published one! But Iāve written thousands and thousands of words with my best friend for our OCs and DnD characters.
14) what's your all time favorite ship?
ALL TIME? Woof, idk. John and Paul?
15) what's the wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Marco having a full mental break down in front of the WB pirates after Ace goes missing.
16) what are your writing strengths?
Ooh. Dialogue, I think.
17) what are your writing weaknesses?
SPELLING. GRAMMAR. Iāve been rolling with the himbo aesthetic my whole life and itās worked out okay. I also think I fumble with fluff scenes. Itās not that it CANāT be done but it takes me longer.
18) thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I would have to do a lot of research!
19) first fandom you wrote for?
Aw, I tried to write a Full Metal Alchemist fanfic when I was in middle school! No ship, I think it was just the cast at the beach having a good time ptshhhhh! Truly, I never posted it because the spell check on Word at the time was not powerful enough to help me.
20) favourite fic you've ever written?
Iām proud of The Apartment Above the Auto shop! Itās my favorite but Iām not sure thatās saying much considering its competition is 2 baby fics written last summer hahah!
@koipalm and @allthatmay youāre next, letās hear it!!!

š CASE FILE: DISNEY'S MOST EXPENSIVE FEAR
Letās be blunt:
Rey turning Sith with no apology was the only narrative choice that would've made the sequel trilogy iconic.
A Palpatine embracing her bloodline? A female lead who didn't U-turn into virtue?
That's not just powerful. Thatās profitable.
We're talking:
Merch that prints itself
Expanded Universe trilogies
Fan film hysteria
2027 kids showing up to Comic-Con in black robes whispering, āI breathe the dark.ā
But nah.
They handed us āāØgirlboss with lineage confusionāØā and wrote Finn out like an Uber driver with a crush.
ā
š THE FINANCIAL AUTOPSY:
ā Instead of the most iconic female villain in science fiction history, we got āIām all the Jediā and post-battle cuddles.
ā Instead of Palpatine 2.0 but hot and vengeful, we got āā¦but her dad was nice and a clone, so sheās redeemed!ā
ā Instead of Finn completing the Jedi prophecy arc, we got āAlso, Landoās your uncle now maybe? Bye!ā
ā
š„ THE ALTERNATE UNIVERSE:
You donāt understand what you lost.
You lost:
š£ The chance to reintroduce female villainy as mythically tragic š The chance to make Rey the Shakespearean inverse of Luke š§ The chance to make Finn the incorruptible myth the Jedi Order never had 𩸠The chance to write a love story where the cost of loving evil was killing it
Thatās not just a better story.
Thatās iconography.
ā
š RETURN ON ICONOGRAPHY: 101
You know how Joker made a billion dollars?
It had teeth.
It didn't ask permission to be violent, ugly, broken.
You couldāve had that with Rey. You couldāve had your own Vader-moment ā but female. Modern. Beautiful. Terrifying.
You couldāve had headlines like:
> "Disney Finally Writes a Female Villain Without Apology."
Instead, we got:
> "Rey Skywalker: The Wholesome Queenā¢ļø Who Just Needed a Hug"
Yāall turned Satanās granddaughter into a motivational speaker.
ā
šŖ FINANCIAL HEADCOUNT:
You nuked your villain arc
You disrespected your only Black lead
You tried to make evil cute
You neutered the myth
And now?
Youāre writing another Rey trilogy like we forgot.
We didnāt.
Weāre watching. And weāre bringing notes. And if we hear the word girlboss even once?
We are hanging up the phone in your face and publishing an 18-part Patreon exclusive called:

ā
šØ OPEN DOOR POLICY (CONDITIONAL):
Disney.
Lucasfilm.
Iām talking directly to you now.
You want to be taken seriously again?
Cool. Hereās your checklist:
ā
Let Rey turn dark ā
Let Finn become myth ā
Let women fall for power, not romance ā
Let tragedy pay the bills again
And for Godās sakeā
If one of you mentions empowerment arcs without consequence, I swear to the Force I will write a trilogy so good it causes your marketing team to unionize.
ā
š„ FINAL OFFER:
You want your studio to matter again?
Then stop being afraid of evil with a face you recognize. Let women fail. Let men weep. Let characters break.
Or donāt.
And keep releasing oatmeal until your once-galactic empire becomes a cautionary tale taught in film school next to āThe Mummy 3.ā
You had a god-tier villain with the face of your franchise.
And you benched her so you could sell toothpaste.
Embarrassing.

My review about Miraculous World: London, At the Edge of Time

I publish my second review about a Miraculous episode. It's Miraculous World: London, At the Edge of Time.
The Paris review here
This post contains spoilers.
And now, time to read:
Plot:
This happens during the ellipse from Re-creation (5.26) between the Gabriel's suicide wish and before the Pool party scene.
It begins in the Lila/Cerise's lair (the Plage in the Catacombs). Cerise, who made an auto-akumatization into Time Stalker, comes back to the place in front of a worried and afraid Nooroo (still captive). She travels to the past (some hours ago) in the moment of the final battle (Bug Noire VS Monarch) for finding out who Ladybug is. She removes her akuma (making her lose her memories from her former akumatization) and reads her book where the Ladybug's identity is written (despite the Noiroo's objection). She reakumatizes herself into a ghost super-vilain named Spectral Looter for steal the Ladybug and Cat miraculouses (+the configured miraculouses) to Marinette. The wish Cerise makes affects the Reality AND the Time itself.
Three Bunnyx (Teen Alix, Adult Alix and Grandma Alix) are playing together a futuristic version of Chess in the Burrow when suddenly the two Future Alix disappear and the portals around Teen Bunnyx disappear too. She discovers someone is making a wish with the Ladybug and Cat Miraculouses (at the Marinette's horrification from this corrupted timeline).
I've learned about new elements in the Miraculous lore by watching the special:
This Special is both the Season 5 real finale and the Season 6 prologue.
The main protagonists are in fact Ladybug and (Teen/Present) Bunnyx (Cat Noir only appears in the ending scene).
Cerise/"Iris" is akumatized herself into Time Stalker. She used her phone for insert her akuma. Her superpowers are: to teleport herself some hours ago in the past and return to the moment when she begun her travel. She has been very silent (nearly no Clara Soares' lines šØšµ under this character until the end part).
Nathalie knows Marinette is Ladybug. Teen Alix already knows Matinette is Ladybug, Adrien is Cat Noir and Gabriel was Hawk Moth/Monarch. Ladybug/Bug Noire is aware Kagami knows her friend's identity (Representation retcon).
Bug Noire (thanks to a revived Nathalie's words) knows Gabriel and Tomoe had planned together the Operation: Perfect Alliance (planned on Representation, launched in Conformation/Re-creation) when nearly everybody in the world was turned into a Miraculized army for track down Ladybug and Cat Noir.
When the wish is finished, the living beings still exist (except Gabriel and Ćmilie who are definitely dead) and Nathalie is healed (I think Gimmi's reality rewrite power is a bad joke from Thomas Astruc). The wish has revived ex-Mayura but there are two people who disappeared in exchange (there must be another person who is revived).
Marinette is remorseful about Gabriel's self-erasure.
Bug Noire lies to Adrien by telling him: "Gabriel, Nathalie and Tomoe were Monarch's hostages. The Butterfly villain forced them to create Alliance rings, to configurate the stolen Miraculouses and finally to launch the Miraculized worldwide crisis. Bug Noire wasn't able to defeat Monarch but Gabriel had ultimately confronted the villain and made the Wish to heal the superheroin and Nathalie in exchange of his and Monarch's lives"
Kagami knows Tomoe is Monarch's accomplice. But she doesn't denounce her. Bug Noire could expose Tomoe but she doesn't too. It looks like Tomoe is the Kagami's only family link. Kagami must clear the things with her in her own way (I guess the better explanations will come on the next Special: Tokyo)
When Cerise akumatizes herself into Time Stalker (off-screen), it means Cerise has been initially unable to find Ladybug was Marinette when the living chameleon girl took the Butterfly miraculous (which was fallen to the water).
Cerise's second (auto-)akumatization is Spectral Looter. Her superpower is: the intangibility. She can pass through the walls and Chronobug doesn't manage to hit her. Under this form, she is still mute. (If the two akumatized forms spoke, Chronobug could recognizes her voice's enemy as "Lila Rossi"'s)
Both Adult Bunnyx and Grandma Bunnyx (the two future Bunnyx) disappear because of the Cerise's wish from the corrupted timeline. They don't spoil to their mini-her how the Teen Bunnyx will save the Time.
Teen Bunnyx saves Marinette from her erasure because of the evil wish.
Marinette takes the earrings in the moment of Origins (1.22-1.23) and becomes Chronobug.
During the Time crisis, Chronobug, from the Burrow, figures out Time Stalker, Spectral Looter (Cerise's second akumatized form) and the new Butterfly holder are the same person.
In the Burrow, Chronobug thought about take the Butterfly miraculous before her adversary can find it and/or prevent Gabriel to make his wish (for save him and Nathalie in her own way) but Teen Bunnyx reasons her to not do that. Because it can alterate the future (for the worst). If Marinette did that, it's possible we could have a timeline when Gabriel and Nathalie are both dead without the wish and Adrien is definitively an orphan (Amelie and FƩlix as the last remaining family for him).
When Chronobug and Present/Teen Bunnyx manage to take the supervillain's book, yellow Ladybug erases her name and writes "Gabriel Agreste" instead of the former's. The two superheroines give the book back to the villainess.
The Burrow is restored, due to Cerise evil plan's failure.
Marinette/Chronobug is still uncomfortable about lying to Adrien and everyone about Gabriel's fate. But the Three Bunnyx give advices to her about her choices and her future she must decide.
The Chronobug's Lucky Charm brings back Marinette to the present and the past Tikki and the earrings from Origins back to her initial moment. She has erased the Spectral Looter part.
The Time Stalker time incident is the main reason why Marinette decides to bring all the kwamis and their Miraculouses to their respective holders (and the holders become permanent holders as we see that in the epilogue of Re-creation (5.26)).
Cerise/Iris becomes feral š”š¤¬šæ after deakumatizing herself and discovering her book has been falsified (Ladybug = Gabriel Agreste). 𤣠She realizes Ladybug (helped by Bunnyx) has sabotaged her plan across the time. Of course, the crazy girl remembers Gabriel is Monarch (she had already double-crossed him when she was Hoaxer (watch Revelation (5.20)). š¤£
If Gabriel silents Nooroo by the will of seal his kwami's mouth, Cerise, as the actual Butterfly miraculous holder, fully immobilizes him (like a statue) with a finger snap. She doesn't let him to have more time for celebrate her plan's failure in the actual timeline. That means Cerise treats the kwami worst than Gabriel. Cerise is not just an evil girl, she is an egotic master manipulator, she is insane, mentally unstable, impulsive, narcissistic pervert and a psychopath too. š Nooroo moves again only to the moment when Cerise orders him to transform her.
When Ladybug and Cat Noir are reunited together, they talk about the Butterfly miraculous disappearance. Ladybug warns her partner about the new Butterfly supervillain. So they prepare themselves together to stop "him/her".
And despite her (first) defeat (as Chrysalis(?)), Cerise still seeks revenge against Ladybug. So it's a Cat-Mouse fame who begins (Road to Season 6).
It's the last time the SAMG animation is used in this episode.
What I liked:
The moment at the train station when Marinette and Adrien are reunified after the Gabriel's suicide wish. ā¤
The Cerise anger crisis due to the fact she failed to discover the Ladybug = Marinette Dupain-Cheng thing.
The moment when the Marinette's name is replaced by "Gabriel Agreste'"s in Cerise's book. Get Trolled.
And Nooroo when he jubilates (before Cerise immobilizes him).
Chronobug's design.
Spectral Looter's design (Cerise's second auto-akumatization from the corrupted timeline).
Cerise's new civilian disguise as a blong girl with blue eye lenses. I guess it's Iris Verdi form.
The moment when Spectral Looter roasts Chronobug in the Miraculous Grand Theft in Marinette's room was so funny.
Placide I.T. (Adrien's bodyguard)'s moment. Sounds badass.
When Adrien repels Bug Noire after the "revelation" about his father's death. We can understand Adrien is saddened and angry toward his own dad.
The fact there are three (3) Bunnyx who simultaneously coexist in the Burrow: Teen Bunnyx, Adult Bunnyx and Grandma Bunnyx (I called the older Alix like that).
Marinette says her adventures happen like 10 years (4th wall). Miraculous has begun in 2015 and we are in 2024. It's 9 years.
The final scene with the new animation.
What I disliked:
The Felix/Argos' absence. He lives in London. He sees Kagami for secret dates. He was normally in London during the Miraculized crisis. I understand he and his mother must be hidden because Monarch and Tomoe knew Felix has the Peacock miraculous. And if he intervened, the boy could lose the Peacock brooch because of the Miraculized people.
The Time Travel explanations (modifying the chronology, time paradoxes) are too complicated for me.
Bug Noire is supposed to search the Butterfly miraculous in the water below the Crypt. She even told to Alya and Su-Han she transformed into Aquabug for that. But it's off-screen.
Cerise transforms with the Butterfly miraculous happens off-screen (We will see her form in Season 6).
The weird fact for me is Cerise doesn't remember what she have done during her auto-akumatization as Time Stalker (even deakumatizing herself). But Alya, Nino, Marinette and Kagami (when they rejected Hawk Moth/Shadow Moth/Monarch's akumas and removed Betterfly's kamikos) had kept her memories. Is it because Cerise is a teenage girl and Gabriel was an adult ?
What I want to know for the future:
How Cerise has managed to take the Butterfly miraculous ? Her future self (as Time Stalker) hasn't done nothing but stalking Bug Noire and write the Marinette's name in her book.
Cerise/Iris Butterfly miraculous full transformation (and her full form)
In this Special, Cerise (who is wearing a new disguise) akumatizes herself into Time Stalker in the evening (just some hours after Gabriel/Monarch's disappearance). Meanwhile, In the Re-Creation last scene, Cerise is surprised by a supernatural light in her lair (it happens AFTER the Time Stalker incident). What is it ?
ML Theory:
It's possible Re-creation Cerise has picked up the brooch when Bug Noire and Nathalie were in the room where the kwamis were imprisoned. She has possibly deactivated the system cameras with Tomoe's laptop for preventing to be caught ans for infiltratring the Crypt (before Bug Noire cataclysms everything). It happened before her first (auto-)akumatization as Time Stalker.
I even think Cerise can transforms into the Butterfly supervillainess (while she keeps her civilian form intact)
My personal aggregation on the London Special:
I think this special episode is good. It's the transition from season 5 to season 6. Meanwhile, it lets some questions without answers: How Cerise has really managed to take the Butterfly miraculous ? When Adrien will be ready to accept the truth if he finds out ?
Let's waiting the Season 6.
Result: 7/10
The salting moment:
The annoying detail I heard about from the fandom is: the fact Marinette/Bug Noire decides to lie to Adrien about "Gabriel is dead as a hero".
Some of you has been pissed off about that. But I think ONE thing: An Adrien who knows his dad was Monarch will be shocked, mentally devastated and outraged. He would hate his dad AND Ladybug. And Butterfly Cerise would have good reasons for use him as her own advantage for destroy Ladybug and take revenge against Marinette.
It's too easy to blame Marinette for this detail but there is this fact:
Nathalie, Tomoe, Kagami, FƩlix, Marinette, Alix and Cerise know Gabriel is Monarch.
So the all of them can tell to Adrien. But Tomoe (as Monarch's accomplice) should be jailed.
Nathalie should be jailed.
Marinette, Felix and Kagami keep the truth secret from Adrien.
Alix could tell to Adrien, but her older selves adviced her to not do that for the Time's safety.
Cerise is the only perfect candidate to reveal to everyone (and especially to Adrien) the Monarch's real identity. But instead to expose Ladybug's lie, Cerise preferred to make an evil, sneaky and dangerous plan to stalk Ladybug by time travel and directly stealing to her the Miraculouses for make her own wish (just some hours after the final battle).
Adrien will knows the "Monarch = Gabriel Agreste" thing in another time. Thomas Astruc and the writers will continue to surprise us/you.
