A little post about different types of OCtives

OCtive

First is OCtive itself, it can be used as a defining term or an umbrella term.

Pluralpedia defines OCtive as: “A system member whose source comes from someone’s original character, whether a character someone in the system made, or someone else's OC (such as a friend’s OC).”

The term is inclusive of system-made ocs, or external ocs made by people who are not a part of the system.

Mostive

Mostive is a specific term defined as: “a system member who is an introject of a character that another member of the system created, especially for a roleplaying game or similar … The defining trait is that the character was created from scratch or close to it, rather than altered from an already existing character.”

This means the oc was made from scratch by someone inside the system as an oc, who was later introjected into the system.

Autoject

“An autoject is a headmate sourced from material created by the system or by other headmates.

Original characters used for writing or roleplay often develop into autojects inadvertently or intentionally, and a parogen may be considered an autoject, as they themselves are deliberately created by their system/headmates.

Autojection may be considered an alternative to introjection, the difference being that introjects come from sources outside the system into it, and autojects are created wholly by the system.”

Autojects come from a source material made by the system, and these OCs intentionally or unintentionally are introjected into the system.

It also mentions that as an term Autojection can be seen as the opposite to introjection due to it being focused on system made sources instead of sources made outside of the system. This gives it some overlap with Brainmade headmates.

Personal thoughts

To us OCtive seems like it would be the umbrella term for all OC sourced headmates.

Mostive and Autojects are both focused on being ocs created by someone in the system and not an outside source. However, they have a slight difference. Autojects have to come from a source made by the system and be a character made by the system; Mostives only have to be an oc created by the system.

This to us suggests that mostives could be sourced from fandom as well, since they only have to be an oc. This would mean fandom OCtives could be mostives.

Meanwhile an OCtive from an original story could be both an Autoject and a Mostive.

I hope this helps clear some stuff up and helps to find some alternative terms to introject for non-traumagenic systems.

(As traumagenics ourselves we’ll keep using OCtive/introject for our own headmates. )

calling the system peeps to listen to my ramble and help me answer a few questions

so last night i was laying in bed tryna not be anxious, so i didn’t want to be the core as the core holds the majority of my day-to-day thoughts. paul ( m, 30s, aimate and cassmate ), my main co-host, was tired and was going to sleep, so evan ( m, 15, abandonment holder, physical permateen/agestuck ) and aegsithus ( m, 31, was created to be the new primary fronter/host but was unable to take the role due to being segmented, lmk if anyone has a label for that ) were trying to decide who would front.

then THIS RANDOM GUY POPS UP. Neon orange hair like a frickin highlighter. Baggy brown and white striped sweater. Skinny as a twig.

Now keep in mind, my headspace is connected to a fronting room which is based on the headquarters in Inside Out. So there’s the control panel, the memories, ect.

and this new guy, without any warning, just appears fully-formed. His name is just Anxiety. Turns out, he’s a semi-fictive anxieform of Anxiety from Inside Out 2 and the new anxiety holder. He’s separated from his source, takes a more human form, and holds no memories of his source.

Atreus ( m, 17, avenger autoject and STBA ) was pretty distrusting and didn’t want Anxiety there at all. But Atre ( m, syskid, genetic clone of Atreus, chi-sib of Atreus, but different upbringing and therebefore different personality, also pls lmk if anyone has a term for that ) took to Anxiety instantly and so Atreus sort of just sulked back to his couch and said eh wtf why not, because John ( caretaker/dadmate and medic ) gave him the dad look. Alex ( romanticist, brother figure to evan ) was also pretty chill with it.

So now Anxiety is just there? 😭 Evan kept him calm last night and John let Anxiety sleep in his bed. Anyway, I don’t think Anxiety is going to be fronting except late at night like last night.

Also, are there any median/endogenic systems out there that feel like their singletsona is also their identity host, but doesn’t have an actual personality or full… being? Like when you feel for the personality or substance of the host, there’s nothing actually there. There’s an emotional range, but minimized, but it’s also fully capable of thought, rationalization, and controls the body. Is it possible that me ( as the host ) is a fragmented singletsona as well as the curamor/exorelation for the system? Or something of the like? Because unless I make a conscious effort to speak to my alters, they remain dormant for a good 80-90% of the time. Idk 😔

There are two types of ferality. The one we understand in wild animals, and feralization where the domesticated become wild. That capacity is always waiting to be tapped, as we find our true selves.

Tiles at base: the refined, formerly domesticated, you played a role placed upon you until it began to chafe. Now, you seek to be true to yourself no matter the cost.

Branches at base: the ragged. You could never be truly bent to their will. And when they come for you, you fight tooth and nail for autonomy. Death before detransition.

Coining a -tive term I've been using.

Could not find a term that even remotely fit my experience, therfore I made a new one:

Faketive

A Faketive is a headmate who was pretended to be real before they became an actual member of the system.

This may include, but isn't limited to:

- Headmates initially pretended by a system who went on to become an acctual member of the system.

- Pretended headmates by singlets due to misunderstanding, curiosity, or external pressures to be a system.

- Headmates of Pseudogenic or Fakergenic systems

- Any Headmates with a source rooted in faking or lying about plurality.

- All headmates who feel they were once pretended by their headmate(s)

Faketives, recognizing their growth from a made-up identity to an acknowledged part of the system.

Related Terms:

Faketives may share characteristics with autojects, OCtives, or Mostives, especially when the fabricated identity originates within the system itself.

They may be related to roleplaytives or dramatitives if they were initially used to simulate scenarios or perform roles.

If stemming from an identity created under false pretenses (e.g., the system pretending to be someone else), they may align with Mendaxgenic origins.

💜 - does your system have introjects of any kind?

Oh absolutely, we're very introject heavy. If you include autojects (mainly oc introjects) under that umbrella, then only about 20% of our system are brainmade, though that number is shaky.

💙 - do you switch frequently or do you go longer periods between switching?

We switch quite often! Sometimes it's because one of us thought another would be more capable for a task, or others it's because things are boring. Most of us hardly front for longer than a few days, and if we do, there are usually cofronters.
