Meet Coach Justin Lewis

My basketball journey began in the heart of Montgomery County, playing as an undersized but fearless point guard at Upper Merion High School. I wasn’t the tallest on the court, but my heart, grit, and passion for the game always set me apart. I learned early on that effort, leadership, and mental toughness could match — and often beat — raw talent. I continued my playing career at Cairn University, where I sharpened my skills, studied the game deeper, and laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong commitment to player development and mentorship. Being underestimated only fueled my fire — and that same intensity now fuels how I teach the game. After college, I found my purpose through coaching. I got my start on the AAU circuit with 610 City, working with some of the toughest, most determined young athletes in the region. That experience inspired me to launch my own movement — first with JusFitness Elite, a player development program rooted in discipline and growth, and later with Team Hustle AAU, where we built competitive, character-driven teams that reflected my passion for fundamentals, leadership, and next-level preparation. Today, I’m proud to serve as the Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Valley Forge Military Academy, a boarding school where structure, accountability, and excellence are a way of life. In my time at VFMA, we've accomplished historic milestones — including a Top 5 finish in PIAA District 1A and the program’s most wins in over a decade. More than just wins, though, we've created a culture of resilience, unity, and relentless work ethic — on and off the court. Whether I’m coaching at the academy, training with my JusFitness athletes, or mentoring the next generation of hoopers, my mission remains the same: to lead with love, train with purpose, and build athletes ready for life — not just the game.

Big news, everyone! It seems the universe has graced me with another opportunity to go to K Academy this week.

After my last experience, I’m definitely feeling like the redemption tour begins now.

It was three years ago when I first went to K Academy.

I can still picture myself on that iconic Coach K Court.

Coach K Court For those who aren’t familiar, K Academy is quite something – it’s a kind of secret basketball camp for OLD MEN (you have to be 35+).

No kidding! It’s a unique setup.

And the man running the show? Well, the camp is run by this legend, and by that, I mean the one and only Coach K. Being there is pretty surreal.

Being one of the younger guys there that first time, there was this underlying thought that since I was the youngest person there, everyone there (myself included) thought I’d be a very good player.

Let’s just say the pressure was on, at least in my own head!

To be brutally honest, I broke a rib, got nervous, and played horribly. It was a humbling experience.

The end result for our team? 0-8 record. Definitely not what I was hoping for.

But that was then, and this is now! I’m heading back this week, and as I told myself while packing my bags, “the redemption tour begins now.” I’m feeling determined.

And it’s already been cool to connect with some amazing people. Look who I ran into – here is me with beloved Duke great, Grayson Allen. What a legend!

So, that’s the scoop. I’m back on the campus, ready to give K Academy another go.

Armed with a few lessons from last time (and hopefully a stronger ribcage), I’m aiming to make some shots, contribute to the team, and maybe, just maybe, help us get a few wins.

hey guys!!! I was at Azzi and Paige's camp today and I got some pics with them. They were so touchy with each other and Paige barley looked away from Azzi. Paige threw the ball at azzis butt and Azzi smiled. I got Azzi to sign my Paige hoodie and she giggled. Also Azzi was demonstrating her workout and she was shooting, when she missed Paige booed her playfully. So cute!
