Building a Life That Feels Like Home
It took losing myself to understand what it really means to come home.
Last night, I dreamt of a sprawling, multilevel house filled with extended family.
Some faces were familiar, others were strangers my soul somehow recognized.
There was the usual noise, the teasing, the trying to stay connected — and underneath it all, a feeling of searching for something important.
At one point, I couldn’t find my partner in the chaos. That anxious, unsettled feeling lingered even after waking.
And somewhere in the middle of it all, a big, heavy cat tried to sit on my face — as if to say, you can’t ignore this weight any longer.
I woke up thinking about connection.
About how deeply, fully loved I feel now.
Not just loved — understood.
This connection feels like home: solid and electric all at once.
No judgment. No shrinking to fit.
Just full-hearted support for who I am.
In the past, I didn’t always know what was missing.
I just knew when something wasn’t right, and eventually, I’d have to walk away.
Looking back, I see how each connection shaped me, taught me, prepared me for this life I’m building now.
And part of that life — a huge, soul-fueled part — is Earthbound Divination.
For a long time, I lost myself trying to live up to expectations.
I poured all my energy into survival, into roles I thought I was supposed to fill, and somewhere along the way, I stopped asking what made me me.
Rebuilding myself has been a journey — one shaped by love, growth, and the drive to live more authentically.
I’m a parent to incredible young people who are finding their own paths now.
Watching them reminds me how important it is to model a life built on passion, authenticity, creativity, and joy.
My partner and I dream of adventures, exploration, and a life lived fully — not in spite of the challenges we face, but because of them.
Chronic health conditions are part of our story, too.
They’ve taught me how precious time is, how important it is to cherish every moment, and how necessary it is to listen to your heart now, not someday.
Earthbound Divination was born from this journey.
It’s a place to reconnect with yourself — your intuition, your creativity, your magic.
Because when you heal that connection within, you change everything outside of you, too.
Your relationships deepen.
Your passions reignite.
You move through the world with more peace, strength, and wonder.
I believe the world needs more authenticity, more love, more conscious living.
And it all starts inside.
If you feel called, I invite you to visit earthbounddivination.com and see what’s growing.
I’m excited to keep building, learning, and connecting — and I’d love for you to be part of the journey.
Let’s create something beautiful, starting from within.

Did You Try the Building Relationships Demo?

Developer: Tan Ant Games
Release Date: 2025
Price: TBD
Platforms: Steam, TBD
Building Relationships turns players into a tiny house searching for friends, love, and adventure. Players will roll, jump, and dash around an island with unique biomes and get to know some of the other buildings.
In the Building Relationships demo players will explore some of the island and meet some of their potential dates. While out exploring players can learn how to fish, and climb up rocky terrain to collect items. While buildings do not eat food, they do enjoy filling themselves with furniture. Players will even have a chance to build a picnic table to share with a couple other buildings.
The Building Relationships demo is short, taking 15 to 20 minutes to complete. The Building Relationships demo is currently available on Steam, and the full game is set to release later this year.

Relationship Building
⭐️ (or multiple) for a headcanon about our muses.
Vladina would have tried to dress Sky up in a formal dress once. It's only because she threatened to spill a large glass of red wine (?) over it that she got the hint NOT to attempt that again.

I wanna say something. Coz I never saw anyone post anything about what I'm going to point out from the video.
@8:30 ..."there's still a lot of things that 'Buck and Tommy' have to learn about each other but also 'Oliver and Lou', and so you know we're building those relationships."
So building the chemistry.
I'm telling you, I don't like her character from the very beginning it was introduced from seasons ago. So if that one is gonna stay around Eddie,
then I want Tommy to stay around Buck. Coz I have these opinion that I don't want to see Buck hanging around Eddie when Eddie's dating someone. In a sense, when Buck started dating Natalia, I was like, I understand or I'm assuming why Eddie felt the need to do so when before Buck was single and his Tia Pepa arranged a date for him, he was 'No'.
So this building relationships, the characters and actors, is a good thing, coz I wanna see that chemistry playing there genuinely and not because it was being act out.
We really got lucky with Oliver and Ryan. I guess the tattoos helped too. Like, what are the chances that these two actors just coincidentally have tattoos around opposite arms and, what's the word? Ah, right, compliments each other. As well as their characters are like opposites in a way that fits together that building chemistry is not needed. Because the attraction is already present. And they fit perfectly. Even the way they smile, talk, laugh, stand together, and sleep even, and just staring at the other,

even that far apart,
This is a really really really s........l........o.......w burn. And I've been telling this since before, that it will be a beautiful story between them. The history has been told, now we await their future.
btw
I forgot to mention how Oliver's eyes look so green here. I know it's the surroundings, his shirt, his beanie (i forgot his word as well, had to search using bonnet lol), just the surrounding's color's effect.
But his eyes look so green.

S5E7: Building Dual Power, with André Rosario [aka HydroponicTrash]
André Rosario (aka HydroponicTrash) joins us this week on the podcast to tell Ariel all about dual power - what it is, how it fits in with solarpunk, and how people can mobilize it in their daily lives. Their conversation ranges from the history of the term dual power, to examples from André’s own life, to the concept of mutual aid, the importance of imagining a better world, how to build relationships as an introvert, and even includes a discussion of human nature.

I cancelled Building Relationships!!
(but not really)
So, Building Relationships has gotten a little bit of shit on tw*tter for being yet another ironic dating sim. And I just want to talk about it a little more!
Is Building Relationships an Ironic Dating Sim?
First off, yes, Building Relationships (at its early inception) took inspiration from games like Hatoful Boyfriend. I understand the gut reaction against absurd dating sims: it feels like the only type of dating sim that gets mainstream coverage.
But I think there is room for nuance!
I try really hard to make romance feel earnest!
There are different minigames accompanying each date: they're different in tone, different in mechanics, giving a more rounded picture of queer romance.
It can get spicy at times, but I do my best to design with consent in mind -- so that players don't feel like they're "punished" for saying no.
It really is not a cash grab
The game doesn't rely on poor writing to pad playtime. There's a variety of side content in the game. It's made by one Thai guy and a composer in the UK. It's not a corporation making an April Fool's joke.
I've also been working on accessibility features like tone markers, no-mashing mode, no input holds, etc.
So yeah, I really hope it doesn't come across as a joke on the genre
I just think that there is room for genuine connection amidst the most absurd of scenarios. A game that makes space for players who love silly games and players who enjoy dating sims.
--
But yeah, let me know what you think! Does Building Relationships feel like an irony sim?
#building relationships#i just got annoyed that the game has been called an irony sim when development has been so hard#i've been working on a musical theatre/serenade moment and it's the hardest goddamn thing i've worked on (eventhough it looks so simple)#but yeah i'm back to shitposting baby#ironic dating sims#dating sim#building relationships game#indie game#also the human characters are so cute i really want to add it in (but i do not want to rewrite the dialogue)

How does one convince their parents to let them have a "Meet Your Half-Siblings" party?
Discovering that you have half-siblings through sperm donation can be an exciting, yet complex, experience. Meeting these siblings can offer a sense of belonging and understanding, but convincing your parents to host a “Meet Your Half-Siblings” party might require some thoughtful planning and sensitive conversation. Writers: *we created a story that comments on modern identity— including gender dynamics, race dynamics, the illusion of binaries, and how society ‘others’ people— based on our own experiences. For scene setting, we’re gonna set the story in an alternate universe, the past, or a different country that wouldn’t—technically— experience identity in the way we’re gonna write about it. And for several of the characters, we’re gonna use visual queues that are well-known & noted symbolic codes for queerness in film and TV.*
Queer audiences: “Oh… these bitches gay.”
Someone with a degree in Twitter: “Nuh-uh! Sometimes, the curtains are just blue! They never even explicitly say these characters are gay! What? Can straight people not [insert something with a significant history in the LGBTQ+ community]? That’s homophobic! That’s reinforcing a binary! Gay as a social construct doesn’t even exist in [insert scene setting]!”
Me:

The writers: “Since y’didn’t get it the first time around: The girls are gonna kiss in the sequel.”
#their conclusions boil down to an assumption that cis het is the default#then they get offended#when the story actually follows through#even after it spends the first season establishing characters#building relationships#and establishing chemistry
