Summary:

how do you think losing his wings would affect the relationship? especially not being able to do as many "useful" things for his partner, and he would get so much more attached not being able to sense or check up on them, i saw a post about it the other day and it made me think, the situation definitively gets worse when he loses his quirk..

But genuinely as much as I like angst I actually think it would be good for him. I'm not caught up in the manga because I choose happiness and peace, so this is just my personal opinion.

It's freedom, in a way. He gets to learn what he's like as a person, and Hawks is an optimist that would be able to see that. Even though Hawks is very, very attached to the sky and flying (we know this from this little portion of the Nomu fight, where Hawks helps Endeavor into the air and Endeavor finally lets go when he's flying. Hawks says this very meaninful and oftentimes overlooked blip.)

But!

I think he gets to discover what it's like to have a normal relationship and do normal people things. I think it would be hard for him to not have the same ability to protect his partner as before, and as you said being useful is incredibly important to him, but that isn't going to stop him from trying. He's resourceful. He'll find ways, I believe it!
