There’s this specific type of chronically online leftist who hates Helluva Boss for showing empathy towards royals while ignoring that a major part of Stolas character is how systems of hierarchy cannibalize their own people when they don’t conform to expectations. I have heard some ideas about how as the i.m.p family develops they will eventually give up assassination work and become bodyguards or something and while this does look good on paper in terms of what it would really mean for the story I Don't personally think that it would fit.

Point one. The i.m.p team love killing humans and up until recently it could be argued that some of their targets didn't deserve to die. Blitz said it himself back in murder family no one is perfectly innocent and so far they killed a family of cannibals, corrupt agents, a greedy old miser, a Mexican con artist, a fish monster and likely many other such scumbags so over all I'd say they are really a net gain for humanity over all.

Point 2. Even when they did kill relatively innocent people they still got away with it. You could aurge that blitz getting harrased by emberlynn was "karma" for killing an innocent but while I love emberlynn as much as everybody else does anyone really think she didn't stalk or harass anyone in life? And then there's the scores of people in spring broken and the bystanders in unhappy campers so it's not like the narrative is punishing them for killing humans.

Point number three. The biggest and most important point in my opinion. Bodyguard work would put them at the beck and call of the demons that created the systems that they were trying to break free of. Look while Bodyguard work might sound like a more positive version of i.m.ps current occupation it would ultimately go against what they set out to do in the first place. I.m.p and Viviennes work as a whole is all about shaking up people's conceptions of hell and demons as a whole and one of the biggest if not thee biggest things she's done is something that has never been seen in pop culture before. Imps that work for themselves. Can anyone here actually say that they have seen imps in any other form of media that aren't at the beck and call of some form of greater demon? As far as I have seen i.m.p is the only example of imps that work for themselves and on their own terms. Blitz byckso has single handedly (ok maybe not by himself but the idea was his) done something that hasn't been seen or done in any version of hell! Gathered a group of what is considered by demonic nobles and mortals alike, to be the lowlyest forms of demons there is imps and hounds and not only lift them out of their own personal hells but create something that challenges the very idea of what it means to be an imp!! And no striker doesn't count he's Stella's and Andy's stooge remember? Blitz sums it up nicely as "I only wanted to get out of the shitty place you all forced my into!!!" And he did and not only that but unlike his father who got his postion by exploiting those around him. The point I'm trying to make being is that i.m.p was founded on the dream that imps could work for themselves and doing Bodyguard work betrays that Vison because it would send them right back to serving the same people that created the system they were trying to overcome.

things i think would be cool for the final/ penultimate episode of hazbin hotel:

i know alastor mainly pulled the whole “haha i’m a better father to charlie than you >:)” schtick in front of lucifer as a power grab, but i actually would like to see the show further explore their father/daughter dynamic.

alastor is a power-hungry piece of shit who has little to no interest in anything that doesn’t directly benefit him, but throughout the eight episode we learn that he actually does care about his friends. maybe not a lot, but enough that it genuinely worries him. i think part of his character arc will be becoming a genuine, caring (if still pretty evil) father figure to charlie. and i am a sucker for the “cartoonishly evil villian who loves his family” trope (like the cannibal dad in the first episode of helluva boss).

with that all established, i have an idea (not really a theory, just a scene i would like to see):

twards the end of the show, the story utilizes that “leader/heart of the team gets hurt in battle and everyone is immediately hellbent on defeating the enemy” trope.

charlie is wounded fatally, or at least appears to be. she’s not moving. either lucifer or vaggie is holding her and sobbing, begging her to wake up.

everyone is quite. everything is still. it’s like times just stops.

it cuts to different characters (angel dust, husk, nifty, etc). all stunned.

slowly, the soundtrack starts to play again. we finally pan to alastor.

and he. is. frowning.

literally and figuratively, all hell breaks loose.

then more battle scenes happen, charlie lives, and the show ends however it ends.

tldr; i just really like the idea of alastor frowning for the first time in nearly 100 years because he almost loses someone he, whether he wants to admit it or not, cares about

Hey, in case you ever need characters for a double date for a Qpr RadioRose story or just friends for Rosie. New Helluva Boss episode gave us Martha x Mayberry as cannibal demon couple (Martha is a cannibal at least as the mom of the Cannibal family in HB episode 1).

I'm not watching HB, but i've seen 1st episode and not long ago a clip of these two, I NEED MORE CONTEXT! Do they have a shipname? THEY LIVE IN CANNIBAL TOWN?? Thy live together or it was just for a night?? I kinda wanna draw themm my life is lacking good ol yuri

Voodoo is barely even a part of Alastor’s character and this element didn’t need to be a part of his design at all

Alastor is one of the many characters in Hazbin/Helluva that has too many details crammed into his characterization all at once. He is a serial killer/radiohost/warlord/cannibal who has ulterior motives, hates technology, and also apparently practices voodoo.

Another bad example of this is Angel dust, who is a stripper/porn star/drug addict/mafia member/prostitute/abuse survivor all at once. All of these different professions and backstory for these characters conflict with each other and seem to compete for the writers’ attention.

Will Alastor’s asexuality ever be explored at all? I don’t know, we might just end up with characters making advances towards him and getting rejected for comedy like in the pilot. Will Alastor having a radio show affect anything in the story or will he just have a static effect on his voice sometimes? Probably the latter. Will voodoo ever actually affect how Alastor uses his powers or something? Will they even mention loas or anything? Probably not. It’s probably just for the aesthetic. Is the cannibalism or the murder going to impact anything at all other than just explaining why this guy went to hell? Well, there might be a joke or two about it.

This issue is the most prominent in Helluva Boss, which has already come out. On top of already having a bloated cast, almost no plot point or character trait except Stolitz gets the screen time or development it could have gotten because some new tertiary idea is seemingly stapled to one of the characters at random.

Moxxie suddenly also being in a mafia family in season two (despite Angel dust already doing that), Blitzo’s relationships with Fizzerolli, Verosika, and his sister. Blitzo stalking Milly and Moxxie sometimes for some reason. Chaz. Stolas literally getting shot and that being forgotten in the next episode. I could go on and on because there are just that many.

There are so many ideas in these shows that should have probably been cut. They could have explored just a few of these plot lines such as Loona’s backstory, Blitzo and Fizzerolli, Stolas and his family, etc for several episodes and told different stories with these elements. That probably would have been more interesting and Fizzerolli forgiving Blitzo would have been less rushed.

Alastor practicing voodoo could have easily just been removed and it would have changed absolutely nothing at all. It really doesn’t seem like it’s even going to go anywhere. The sheer amount of good ideas going to waste and the unnecessary details that end up sticking around is one of the most disappointing parts of this show.

In episode 6, Blitzo and Moxxie are kidnapped by the DORK agents, who tie them to chairs. During the song sequence, Blitzo is also chained.

In season 2... *takes deep breath*

In episode 1, a flashback shows that Blitzo and Stolas's first meeting as adults had Blitzo tie Stolas to a bed and blindfold him, with the intention of robbing him.

In episode 3, Moxxie is captured by his father, who binds and gags him and tries to force him to marry someone he doesn't want to marry. The little lips drawn on the gag are perfect.

In episode 4, Stolas is kidnapped by Striker and spends most of the episode tied up.

In episode 6 (my personal favourite scene of the series), Blitzo and Fizz are captured by Crimson and Striker, who use Fizz as a hostage against Ozzi. Fizz is tied up, gagged onscreen, and the two of them are then locked in a cage together.

In episode 7, Fizz's solo song has a ton of bondage in it, including him being chained by Mammon.

In episode 8, the Cherubs are tied up by the DORK agents.

In episode 9, a brief scene shows a human man tied up and blindfolded during a demonic sacrifice.

In episode 10, Blitzo is chained to a chair by the demon hotel manager.

In episode 11, Blitzo is chained and gagged throughout most of the court scene.

Background Details in Helluva Boss S1 E1 - Murder Family

1. The Murder Family's House

There are a lot of clues in the background of the episode that the family are serial killers (and likely cannibals) before it's revealed to the characters.

This is mainly apparent from the décor (pelvis bone wallpaper, furniture made of human-looking bones and most blatantly a human head mounted on the wall) but also the human hand hanging out of the fridge and the various weapons covering the walls.

2. I.M.P City Details

The number on the fire engine is "420" - this is possibly a play on words based on the phrase "blaze it".

And I know this one has been brought up a few times already in other posts but I can't not mention the infamous billboard mentioned in the pilot and shown in the background not far from the office.

3. The I.M.P Office Building (Exterior)

The plated sign at the entrance of the building says "Succ Ink" with a hand-written sign underneath saying "I.M.P Floor 7", implying that the building is primarily used by Succubi and Incubi.

Additionally, the building is marked as condemned but Blitzo and co appear to have intentionally hidden this by covering up the sign with an I.M.P poster advertising their services (also shout out to the "Dick?" billboard in the background)

4. The I.M.P Office rooms (interior)

I actually first noticed this in a later episode but only realised when re-watching the series later that it was present in episode 1: There's a lemon tree in Blitzo's office with a sign saying "no whores", presumably referencing this infamous porn intro.

The main room of the I.M.P offices has tons of pictures on the walls but some particularly notable ones shown in this episode are:

A drawing (in Blitzo's signature style) of two imp-horses kissing. Considering the horns and markings, one of them seems to be based on Blitzo himself but it's not clear who the other horse is supposed to be, if anyone.

A picture of Fizzarolli with an arrow through his neck (though based on the colours and clothing this may be robo-Fizzarolli specifically)

A picture of a person in a top hat with an arrow pointing to them saying "Loser". It looks like it might be Sir Pentious from Hazbin Hotel but I'm not totally sure (let me know what you think!)

The photo Luna's holding - the main thing that's notable about this one is that the boy in the picture seems to be the same one from the Helluva Boss pilot.

5. Blitzo's Horse Thing

In addition to all the aforementioned horse drawings, this episode introduces the first of Blitzo's horse toys/figurines which he keeps in his inner pockets and for some reason takes with him on assassinations.

Incoming supposition on what I think is going on in terms of Hazbin, and why Helluva has shifted focus in Season 2: Viv overpromised and underdelivered, forcing Helluva to cannibalize Hazbin's leftover ideas.

Let's for the moment discard rumors about Viv being difficult to work with and that Hazbin was cut from 10 to 8 episodes to get it out of the way—I wouldn't doubt that, and we know that 8 episodes are indeed happening. but since the former parts are technically rumors at this point I don't want to base this analysis on rumors wrapped in NDAs. Let's just look at what we know for absolute certain, which is the following:

-Viv wanted Hazbin to be at least 3 seasons, per her past streams (might have been a Hunicast one but I don't recall)

-A24 announced they picked up HH in 2020. Said pickup announcement is the only thing they've said about Hazbin Hotel in 3 years.

-what little marketing exists has been sparse, and solely limited to already existing fans. None of the stuff on Hazbin's Twitter has been retweeted or acknowledged in any way by A24 proper.

-the show has passed its intended release date, with no cast, platform, or staff revealed at all, when the cast is generally revealed for a show a year prior to release

-early on Hazbin was said to be the serialized storyline, while Helluva was said to be more episodic. Now, we have no Hazbin, and Helluva has gotten more serialized in Season 2

-several comics were planned for Hazbin, one of which being about Charlie meeting an old boyfriend in what looked liek Greed callerd Exes and Ohs. Said comic appears to have been cannibalized into Helluva Boss's S2E3, complete with Charlie's old Von Eldritch boyfriend looking quite similar to Chaz, just not a shark

Given all that, I think during production of Hazbin, something went wrong. Maybe it turned out Viv didn't plan as much as claimed, frustrating the crew. Maybe A24 had too much executive meddling, frustrating Viv. Maybe there was too little meddling and A24 started realizing the show was going to fail so they decided not to advertise it.

]It's anyone's guess at the moment what went wrong, but it seems behind the scenes something went wrong. And whatever the reason, the Hazbin Viv initially set up, the Hazbin Viv promised with the pilot, is not the Hazbin that ended up being produced by A24.(edited)

So Hazbin's serialized ideas were squeezed into Helluva, and Helluva scrambled in Season 2 to create a story because the story Viv intended for Hazbin fell through, so she haphazardly decided to utilize it into this other story because Helluva is all she has now.

Yes this is all speculation, but given A24's utter silence, delays, and Helluva becoming more serialized and provably taking on at least one story intended for Hazbin, I think it's at least somewhat likely.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Hazbin turns out to just be episodic like Helluva was originally intended to, turned away from the "Disney meets The Good Place but R-rated" story it was originally going to be and now turning into an episodic "Family Guy in Hell". Which as someone who fell in lover with the pilot for its "Disney meets The Good Place" vibes, is incredibly heartbreaking to think about

This is pretty much shot for shot what I think too. When you lay it all out like that, I'd actually be more surprised if it wasn't what's going on.

(That "R-rated Disney meets The Good Place" description especially hurt, because my pitch to friends I wanted to hook into Hazbin was always "Superjail meets The Good Place." Knowing how close we came to having that story is more tragic than if we'd never gotten it at all.)
