What's sadder?

Stiles getting the mating bite from Derek before the Nogitsune, and then being thrust into a clone of his body with no scars, just a complete cleanslate; and yeah, Derek can give him a new one, but the first one was on his body, and the only reason he should've gotten the bite again was to renew it, like when people renew their vows.

Or,

Stiles and Derek getting together after the Nogitsune, and Derek gives him the mating bite, and it's great, it's beautiful, Stiles loves it and what it stands for, but he has another panic attack over the fact this isn't even his body that's getting the mark; all the scratches and healed injuries he got before, the ones he got after knowing about the supernatural world, saving his friends, his dad, Derek, those scars are no longer there to join the bite.
