Narilamb crack idea where lamb is a poor unfortunate sailor stuck on an island after a shipwreck and Narinder is the siren/seamonster circling the island attempting (unsuccessfully) to lure them into the water so he can eat them.

Over the course of time they end up bonding, and after multiple failed murder attempts on Narinder’s part he realizes that he’s stopped seriously hunting them, its more like a game between them at that point (lamb still assumes he would eat them if they fell in, though.) He eventually does catch them, but to lamb’s surprise, he lets them go.

Anyway that’s all I got for now but I am Thinking Thoughts

What I love about Dungeon Meshi is that it says “eat, or be eaten,” but not as in “survival of the fittest.” “Eat, or be eaten,” because there is no third choice—every day of your life, one or the other will happen. If you choose not to eat, you will be eaten. Eating is a mandatory part of being alive. The failure to acknowledge this makes you weak, guarantees that you will fail—as seen with Shuro, as seen with Thistle.

“Eat, or be eaten,” because “living things take other lives as sustenance, and no one is exempt.” If you eat—if you are a living thing—you will be eaten one day. Whether it's to literally be killed and eaten for your flesh, or decomposed down to the bone—violently or painlessly, quickly or slowly, you will be eaten and turned into sustenance for other living things. A dead body is always consumed as food, and there is no meaningful distinction between the two. The only way to avoid it is to have never been born at all.

“Eat, or be eaten,” because “eating is a privilege of the living.” And isn’t that incredible? To be a living thing is to have the privilege of eating. To have the ability to eat is a boon, an honour, a birthright. It is the unique, universe-given gift and right of all living things. It is synonymous with being alive—to live is to eat. To eat is to be eaten. We are eaten because we eat, we die because we were born, and the privilege of eating is earned through the inevitability of our deaths. The two cannot be separated.

Dungeon Meshi is far from the first story to say, “memento mori.” But it takes the inevitability of death—a concept too distant and philosophical to grip the average person—and reframes it within the act of eating. Makes it visceral by using a universal part of daily life, a routine that every living thing is intimately familiar with. 

“Remember that you will die,” it says, but furthermore, “remember that your future death is a prerequisite for the food you are able to eat now—remember that other things die so that you can eat, remember that you will die to feed something else, and that there is no other alternative. There is no way to stop this. To take is to have things taken from you. To eat is to be eaten one day. There is nothing kind or cruel about this—it just is, and you must be the one to understand it and bring meaning to your own existence.

In light of all this, why wouldn't you choose to live as deliciously as possible?”

Some thoughs I've had recently is the use of cannibalism in Mouthwashing. Consuming someone can be a metaphor for all-consuming love, or a commentary on society, or what have you. In the case of Mouthwashing, even when it's presented as the need for survival, this is Mouthwashing. Every single element is used for something greater.

Forgive me if this is plain news, but I see it as Jimmy's last ditch effort to become a hero. Throughout the story we see Jimmy seethe every time Curly is mentioned and try to put him down. His hatred is clear (to me I suppose) that he is jealous and wants to become Curly.

He sees Curly as everything hes not: smart, charming, adoring and adored, a leader, capable, responsible.

Of course, Jimmy also sees them as flaws. Despite this, he still envies Curly for all that he has and all that he is.

So when Jimmy throws himself a birthday party, Captian Curly lain on the table like the biggest birthday cake, he makes a wish. And he feasts.

He cuts and slices and consumes the hero he sees himself as. Each bite bringing him closer to his goal: being Captian. Being the hero. Someone so righteous and knowing and adoring and loveable. Something else that isn't him. Someone that could never be him.

When he feeds Curly his own leg, Jimmy wants him to survive. But maybe he's also saying "Don't worry. I won't be selfish. You can still be the Hero. We can both be heros. Together."

i also feel insane about the idea. idk i just feel like there's so many little things that have happened that could work with this concept despite it being like 100% impossible to actually happen. like i've yet to see joe, jevin, or anyone who was watching their streams that cub claims scar confessed on, to actually say something about it. cub is so obviously lying about something but what exactly?? i also understand his reasoning for why he wouldn't do it (i still think it would 100% be him if it wasn't so similar to the jingler). cub would totally be capable of doing it, scar not so much just by himself. unlike cub, scar isn't pointing fingers but he also doesn't need to direct attention away from himself since doc does not think it is him

one thing that quite confuses me is how easily cub is ready to throw scar under the bus like you guys pranked everyone and their mom together, why are you suddenly snitching??? i don't think cub would give the actual mystery away so easily unless there is some twist to it

i think i would explode if we got to see the fuckass vex transition in a video in 2024. like that would be the most insane comeback ever. i would also really like to see them go against doc.. convex should bring back eating the nho i mean what- (actually that would be hilarious imagine defending yourself in court against someone who ate you but doesn't remember)

honestly at this point scar digging up his concorp shirt for that investigation stream feels like crumbs....

anyway. i did start writing a little something about this idea but i don't know if/when i'll finish it, i've been so busy and exhausted lately </3 would love to see what you come up with though!!! i love your writing :D

Hi just a random person who saw the fanart of princezam and mapicc and never watched lifesteal smp but was aware of it i guess? Anyway i wanna ask what's the meaning behind and it symbolise of mapicc eating prince zam's heart? Is this a canon thing on lifesteal or just a fan headcanon? Sorry for the question just curious.

There is no real "in canon" direct reference to cannibalism on the server (other than maybe 1 or 2 one-off-comments made as jokes throughout the years). So I guess it counts as a headcanon. But let's just say that it lends itself well for headcanons of the sort. As the server works, every time you kill someone, you get their heart. 

Lifesteal is all about hearts: giving and taking. So there's this closeness that tends to be formed just off the concept of hearts, giving it to a teammate or someone you're allied with is a display of affection, to show you care. Taking someone's hearts through violence is the opposite of that. The showing of hatred (in the case of devotions not always).

Lifesteal doesn't classify the stealing of hearts in any specific method past murder and the absorption of the heart isn't demonstrated past the right click of a mouse or the heart simply appearing in the hotbar after you kill someone. That empty period where the heart is absorbed is unclear and kind of open to fan interpretation I guess. 

When talking about Mapicc eating Zam's heart specifically, it isn't a re-draw of a specific scene or anything (well kind of, but not really). Over their time on the servers over multiple seasons these two have spent the majority of the time next to each other, if it’s by each other's side or against one-another really depends on the season and period of time. But there often is some type of misunderstanding between them. Mapicc at some point feels hurt and betrayed by something Zam does (usually something tied to morals, example s4 and s6. Zam's "good hearted nature" gets in the way of their team). And Mapicc wants to hurt back. He makes it his only goal on the server to torment Zam. Be the one who destroys him, who kills him over and over again. It's that kinda hatred that you can only feel for someone who you once loved. The cannibalism interpretation is more meant to be representative of his obsession with him in their time of animosity, the desire for Zam's "heart" (romantically/platonically) and his desire to have Zam and everything Zam is.

Also the caption is a reference to this idiom that really fits their season 6 characters:
