I drew Robin! I really like your take on his character! Especially the fact that he’s hard of hearing and uses hearing aids, because as a hard of hearing person who uses hearing aids it makes me feel seen! :3

I don’t tend to consider character’s favourite songs as though they had our real world songs! So hmm.. Something very bassy, that would be something he could hear better than high pitched. Maybe rock music as well. (I’m not a rock person so I don’t know what example to use!)

He’s probably a concert-goer, for the vibes and vibrations (without his hearing aids on, I believe, as people say they can be too loud in crowds? (correct me if I’m wrong)) But he likes to feel music!

And thank you! I try to think of stories in “show” style. As a teen, I’d make ocs and go from vibes, but now I sort of think with “University Animation Student” brain.

Guys guys guys!

I went to the orthodontist today and during my x-ray I had to remove my earrings, glasses, and hearing aids. I let the employee (idk the proper word for her occupation. Dentist?) know that I am hard of hearing and OMG

She took off her mask and made sure to enunciate and speak slowly and clearly to me and so I could attempt to lip read (I’m still terrible at it) and understand instructions she was giving me and she even threw in little motions and it was so cute

I know it’s probably the bare minimum but I appreciate that she actually tried her best to make communication easy when I had to take my hearing aids out

Deaf teacher hugs Prince of Wales at OBE ceremony

A deaf studies teacher embraced the Prince of Wales as she was appointed OBE at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.

Wendy Daunt was recognised in the New Year Honours for services to the Royal School for the Deaf in Derby and the deaf community.

The brief interaction ended with gasps in the room, according to eyewitnesses, when Ms Daunt asked, and received, a hug from the prince.

In a statement the Royal School for the Deaf said it was "so proud of Wendy and her legacy and influence remains strong."
