This idea has been a good 20+ years in the making, but various events meant I never got to execute it. Now, following the debut of the concept in #LegendsOfTheHalcyonEra 50, I'm finally putting it out there.

Hmmm just gonna spit this headcanon out in text post form since A. I don't think I could exposit it well enough in image form and B. It's not actually textually/thematically substantiated and I don't like actually staking my stuff on just vibes alone*

But anyway. I'd say it's pretty evident that all the islanders forgot their names, right? King obviously. Because why the hell else would he do that, but also Siffrin No Middle Names No Last Name.

They're 'pretty sure' they've 'always' been 'Just Siffrin' 'as long as they can remember'. It's a pretty cruel twist of the knife to say that they don't even get to keep their birth name as a memento, which is why I'm saying as such.

My utterly unsubstantiated claim is I think it'd be cute to say that Sisyphus *is* the name Siffrin initially picked, assuming the myth of King Sisyphus is recontextualised as idk, just a play or something in the setting. But I like the idea of Siffrin going 'oh shit 🫵 he's just like me fr' at a tortured fictional character long before the irony kicks in.

As for how Sisyphus -> Siffrin. I think that chronic mumbler and emotional doormat Sif just did not correct people who misheard the name during their time travelling, and went through enough places with incompatible phonologies (pronounceable sounds in the language) without ever really writing it down that it just got kinda. Changed until it was unrecognisable, and Siffrin just went with it until the earlier pronunciations slipped out of their swiss-cheese brain. And they just kinda don't remember any of that.

Also, something something the horrid realisation that Siffrin also named themselves after a King. Just not as blatantly.

*(though I think there's something here about Siffrin, a guy from a belief system that seems to thoroughly disincentivise autonomy and self-motivated choice continuously having their hand forced to make changes/choices they don't want but have no choice but to... It's not solid enough to really back this up tbh, but it informs it.)

I'd love to know the full details on what Athena and Simon's dynamic was like pre-UR-1. It is so funny to imagine 20 year old Simon Blackquill genuinely and eagerly participating in a tea party a 10 year old Athena Cykes decided to host in the robotics lab. Bonus if Metis and Aura were also included because it's incredibly funny to imagine the Blackquills participating in a 10 year old's tea party in the robotics lab

A pair of glasses.

"I was told that your current prescription wasn't great and they suggested I get you some reading glasses. Eito, you really shouldn't be trying to damage your eyes like that."

Eito perks up, genuinely surprised. "Takumi? I know I proposed a competition to those holograms, but to see you arrive first is quite a shock! Are you that desperate for my undivided attention?" The teasing commences.

And yet, Eito seems oddly hesitant. He tucks his chin into his jacket. "Well... I did say I would praise the one who fetched me this particular gift. I just didn't expect my blessed words to fall upon my most despised. How fortunate for you!" If one of the random holograms ended up getting here quicker, he could spout anything and they'd lap it up like water in the desert. This is an odd case of upholding expectations. Would Takumi hold him to it?

Sometimes I think about wether Toritsuka really has privacy like ever?

I mean ghosts kinda perpetualy watch people and they're basically everywhere, but he actually knows they're watching, if he wanted to do something kinda awkward or the like he probably couldn't just shoo them away, just had to do it with company, on full display all the time

I think this also reflects in his attitude towards Saiki being able to read his thoughts, giving full honesty 'cause Saiki will know anyway, he's already sorta used to that

In this broken and desolate world, someone needed to take control of the world since all government facilities were destroyed, along with the emergence of the tree. With no order, and the rest of the world too dangerous to roam outside of survivor camps, everyone else was afraid to go beyond the safety of their camp's walls, precisely why everyone relied on Devil Hunters were the only hope, they were what was going to helo gradually return to normal, killing demon after demon until the remaining demons that fled deep into the human world after the fall of the demon tree were completely eradicated. The efforts of the Devil Hunters had finally begun to show.

About twenty percent of the world had managed to be cleared of any demon threat, which led to cities being rebuilt, allowing some people in the world to get the chance to return to normal--or at least as close to normal as they could get in these past few years after the falling of the demon tree. Today's mission was a very important one, Vergil had been personally selected by the client for this particular job, and it was a special one. The half-devil in midnight blue was tasked with protecting the daughter of someone very important, unfortunately, that was all the details he'd been given. His job was to safely escort her from New England all the way to New Red Grave City.

Vergil made his way there via portal slicing; his instructions were to meet up with the assistant who would guide him to the person that Vergil was going to escort. From there, he learned he would be protecting a young woman named Lady Nunnally. After being given clearance, he was taken to meet her, the assistant promptly leaving them alone once Vergil was brought to the carriage she'd be traveling in; it's there that he finally met her. A beautiful young woman with blonde hair

[{ 🗡️ }] - "You must be Lady Nunnally. I'm Vergil Nightingale. I'll be your escort for today." He introduced, sword in its sheath pressed to the ground like a cane, as his fingeless, gloved hands rested along the handle.

As much as I love the design, I kinda hope that MK's "monkey arc" will end with him choosing to "be human".

Not literally becoming a human, but the form he currently has. Because, in a way, his monkey form is what the world wants him to to be. A destructive force of raw power who is there to continue (or surpass) the Monkey King's legacy.

Heck, even the goddess lady carved him as a monkey statue. It is what she wants MK to be.

Maybe that's the reason why MK's transformation looks so painful. It's a struggle between expectations placed on him and who he wants to be.

So if he chooses to be "just MK"... It would be clear message that he has now chosen his own path. That he is his own person.

That he is more than just a monkey kid.

Any and all plot suggestions are relevant! When we get them we stick them on a biiig list with your name attached. We'll dip into it if there's a time we wanna stir shit but are stuck on ideas or see a situation where a particular idea seems like it was made for it!

So yes, send in your ideas - you never know when it might come up! ;)

i love characters who are toyed with by the narrative and so Almost aware of it. like theyre in a war of attrition with an entirely unseen force and call it gods or fate and do everything they can to try and flip the script but that only dooms them further. your downfall was your own fault and your downfall was because you tried to carve a path against the narrative and your downfall was just as the narrative ordained and as you struggle you're only sinking faster.
