Psalm 79 | A Cry for Mercy After Devastation
A Psalm of Asaph “God, the nations have invaded Your inheritance; They have defiled Your holy temple; They have laid Jerusalem in ruins. They have given the dead bodies of Your servantsAs food for the birds of the sky,The flesh of Your godly ones to the animals of the earth. They have poured out their blood like water all around Jerusalem,And there was no one to bury them.” “We have become a…

Confession of Sins for the Christian
The Bible mentions two kinds of forgiveness: judicial forgiveness, which removes the eternal penalty of sin at salvation (Eph 1:7), and parental forgiveness, which restores fellowship with God when believers confess their sins (1 John 1:9). At the moment of faith in Christ (John 3:16), the benefits of the cross are applied to us, and we receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Scripture…

Screeching my way back onto tumblr to yell about the fact that Ed is clearly devastated by Izzy's death but he chooses queer joy and peace with the man he loves over running off to sea for vengeance and that's an im-fucking-portant sign of his healing and recovery.
When Zheng offers him revenge, he sort of half-heartedly agrees with 'yeah I suppose I wanna kill that guy', and that half-heartedness comes from the fact that he's not feeling it. He's feeling SAD, he's feeling GRIEF, but rather than quashing them under the boot of anger and violence, he's letting himself sit in those emotions and FEEL them, properly.
ED IS SAD AND HE'S SITTING WITH HIS SADNESS AND ALLOWING HIMSELF TO BE SAD AND THEN HE CHOOSES LOVE AND AN ATTEMPT AT SOME SORT OF PEACE RATHER THAN BLOODSHED AND VENGEANCE I DON'T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT THAT IS.

i do think in da (& da fandom) there is the tendency to conceptualize redemption arcs as “character realises they’ve done a bad thing & tries to do good things instead” which. sure. we can certainly call that redemption. they’re not getting any worse. but that’s also not restorative justice. cullen serving the inquisition is not restorative justice for the mages of kirkwall. thom doing prison reform isn’t restorative justice for the people he killed. that’s something else.

Something something, the first time Carolina and Tex encounter the Meta, he jumps one of them while they're both nearly dead on their feet, drained from fighting each other.
Tex has fought through the whole ship and endured the crash only to find that her objective was lost before she ever started, and Carolina just fought/broke up with York and lost the fight with Tex, being hurled from the Mother of Invention's bridge in the impact. Then the Meta attacks, and throws Carolina to her apparent death, forces Tex to flee, and spend the rest of her life knowing that the Meta is hunting her and Alpha, until she's assimilated and destroyed.
The last time Carolina and Tex encounter the Meta, they kick its ass together. Carolina has found her absolution, redemption, and justice for everything she did and everything she was put through during the Project. Tex is stronger than she's ever been, reborn from the memories of the only group of people she was ever able to act like a human being around, no longer defined by a broken man who was haunted by the death of her original self, but by her own actions, remembered by those who saw her as a nigh-unstoppable but still human juggernaut.

Just wanted to say that your whimsy and unironic enjoyment of things continues to be a passive inspiration for me: at one point today I thought "Damn I should really learn to calm down about this character. Shame I can never be as enthusiastic as I am about some of the characters I like because it's probably considered weird or cringe to like them." And immediately afterwards I went "No. Tumblr user Starleska doesn't live their life with 100% unrestrained enthusiasm and love for characters just for me to be a chicken." askdjhkjadkjdh
buddy!!!! you're going to make me cry, thank you so much 😭😭😭💖💖💖 i'm honoured to hear that!! y'know, over the past...ten? years or so, my goals in life have shifted a lot, as have the things i value. i realised at some point that i may never be able to achieve the kind of success most "gifted" (undiagnosed) kids envision for themselves...but i can always make things a little happier for myself and other people. being unapologetically enthusiastic about things is something i've always valued in other people, and it's a gift i want to pass on 🫡 my question for you is: what will you achieve by calming down about the things you love? the approval of some ignorant folks who equate enthusiasm with a lack of restraint, intelligence, or fake cool points? bro, who wants validation from people like that anyway 😂 and you never know when you yelling about the things you love might spark that same love in other people!! isn't that what fandom has always been about? 💖

The Lord Will Be with His People
14 Sing, you people in Zion. You are my own people, like my own daughter. Shout, you people in Israel! Be very, very happy, my people in Jerusalem!
15 The Lord has not punished you as he would have done. He has sent your enemy away. I, the King of Israel, am with you! The bad times have gone. They will not happen again!
16 On that special day, this will be my message for Jerusalem. ‘Do not be afraid now! Do not be weak now!
17 The Lord, your God, is with you. He is strong. He will save you. He will be very happy about you! He will quietly love you. He will sing, because he is so happy about you!
18 I will bring together those people among you who want to meet together again. You want to meet again to pray. And you want to meet again to praise God. You have had enough cruel words from your enemies.
19 Look! At that time, I will punish all those people who hurt you. I will save those who cannot walk well. I will bring back the people that the enemy has sent away. I will cause people in every country to know about you. I will cause them to praise you.
20 At that time, I will bring you back to your home. I will bring you back together. I will give you a good name among all the people on the earth. That is what I will do. I will stop your troubles. And you will see it happen.’ That is what the Lord says. — Zephaniah 3:14-20 | EasyEnglish Bible (EASY) EasyEnglish Bible Copyright © MissionAssist 2019 - Charitable Incorporated Organisation 1162807. Notes: Zephaniah 3:14-20 is one of the most beautiful passages in the whole Old Testament. In the midst of this restoration, he commands Zion to sing with joy and rejoice with gladness. The Lord has taken away their punishment and turned back their enemy. He has replaced their fear with the assurance of his own presence.

The Price of Forgiveness
Forgiveness comes at a price. Though it may be offered freely to the offender, it always costs the giver something. The word “forgive” translates the Greek verb aphiemi (ἀφίημι), which means to let go, cancel, send away, or pardon. Forgiveness refers to the act of releasing someone from a debt or offense without demanding payment or retribution. For example, in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus told a…
