I do want to say this. I'm not blaming Octavia for having feelings or anything to do with her situation. Divorce can, and will, have pretty serious impact on the child.

The thing i'm mad about is she is given enough to have a different viewpoint of the situation. I have a problem with the way she was written to handle this situation.

She hasn't been shown getting mad (Or at least not VERY mad) at her but she can hear Stella talking about Stolas. Stella even TAKES THE PHONE AWAY from her.

Octavia WANTED to talk to her dad.

Stella and Andrealphus FORCED them to stay separate and aren't trying to hide ANYTHING about how they feel or even trying to actually gaslight her into making Stolas the bad guy.

I get that divorce and promises make for a messy family breakup. I get that she should feel somewhat betrayed and have some resentment towards Stolas. But to me, it feels like the writers pushed way too hard for it. It feels more like shock value to the audience rather than actual feelings between father and daughter.

So one: I really like the new episode. It was fun, had a lot of stuff going on, few bombs were dropped, All in all it was great!

I just have one problem with it.

Octavia.

I get the whole teenage angst/broken home dynamic thing they're going for.... but it feels WRONG to have her pin all the fault on her dad. Like, she even heard her mom and uncle laughing and belittling him and KNOWS he's been trying to call her for over a MONTH! Then when they finally DO meet, she won't hear him out at all!

She's putting all the blame on him and saying he lied when it's SO MUCH MORE complicated than that. Why isn't she blaming stella for anything?! Why not Andrealphus?!?! THEY are the whole reason she and her dad were torn apart AND THEY MAKE IT OVIOUS THAT THEY ARE THE PROBLEM!!!

And i know there'll be the whole "Oh, she's a teenager and people don't often think well under this kind of pressure!" and i call BULLSHIT on that. Every single person alive has been a teenager at some point and i can't think of ANYONE who would act like this when there's signs everywhere telling them they are wrong. Especially when you have your own mother laughing and being a shithead about your dad's misfortune WHERE YOU CAN FUCKING HEAR HER!!! Teenagers are hormonal, angsty, and bullheaded but not to the point of borderline stupidity!

The whole thing just pisses me off.
