A/N: This is the first fanfic that I've ever shared. 🫣 I also don't write a lot anymore, so I'm hoping it's decent enough. This was originally a fem reader, but I wanted to be more inclusive, so apologies if I missed anything! I read this like eight times, but shit happens. My brain is fried and I wrote this in like an hour.

You resisted when Dabi kidnapped you, but after that first night when he punished you, you decided it wasn’t worth it. He had fucked you senseless, face buried the mattress as your tears stained the sheets. The fading burn on your hip is a constant reminder how he held you despite your pleas, the stinging sensation of the flesh now numb in your memories since your brain forcibly detached. The events are fuzzy at best and completely hidden at worst.

Besides, he treats you well enough, rewarding your obedience with some new clothes that you were sure were more for his eyes than your own happiness, your own toiletries, and a cute little collar with a “T” on it. Of course, if he takes you anywhere, they have to know you belong to someone. He even gave you your own bedroom to retreat to. Sure, he barged in sometimes and invited himself to your bed, but his heat was a comfort now. When you woke up to his palm pressed to your stomach as he held you close, it was almost enough to make you forget.

Every day, you watched the news with him while they replayed his video, time and time again. You heard the details of how his father abandoned him, that his father only married his mother for what her quirk could provide - every single day. After so long of hearing about that abuse, of seeing the anger in his face every time the number one hero showed up, one day you felt you couldn’t be mad at him anymore. Despite Endeavor being dead now, it wasn’t enough to soothe that fire in his heart. You felt sympathy for his broken childhood.

You hated it, and yet, for some reason, the way he looks at you makes your heart skip today.

"Why are you looking at me like that, Touya?"

Dabi gives a teasing smirk, his gaze still glued to your body as he replies, "Because I can, sweetheart. Is there an issue?"

"No." 

You’re so confused, but you can’t deny how badly you want him. You fight the urge to move closer, but as hard as you wrestle with it, you give in, scooting inch by inch closer to him on the sofa until your hand comes to rest on his cheek. Your thighs brush together, the warmth is all so familiar.

"I've missed your touch, Touya."

Surprise flashes in his eyes at the affection, but this is what he’s wanted since he claimed you, so he's not questioning a damn thing.

"Good pet, I knew you'd like it." he praises with a smile.

He caresses your cheek as he looks at you with a lustful grin, his touch becoming more daring as he slides his other hand to your inner thigh.

"Now, I want you to make me feel good, and I think you know how."

Your breath hitches as you bite your lip anxiously, but your response is immediate.

"Yes, Touya."

The verbal obedience is enough to make his dick twitch, but when your hands come to help him undo his belt and pants, that's when he knows he’s got you right where he wants you; completely and utterly his - body, mind, and soul. There was no need for restraints, no need for force, to manipulate your body how he wanted. As much as he loved having that power over you, hearing you choke on his cock while you rested your pretty hand on his thigh instead of pushing away screaming was so much better. 

Muffled noises of your pleasure vibrate around his dick as he toys with your nipples, earning a hum of approval from your captor. Your sweet tongue swirling around the head of his cock makes his eyes roll back. He places a hand to the back of your head, gently guiding you up and down as he lets out sighs of bliss. His attention is locked on you while you take every inch of him, pubes tickling your face, his scent filling your nose as you gag for a moment before he lets you back up.

"Good fuckin' pet." He grunts, head rolled back on the couch’s back.

He fucks your mouth at a steady pace, hips thrusting upwards as your mouth slides over him. Once, twice, three times, he spurts down your throat and you swallow every drop of the salty cum with a slight cringe. Though you’re much more willing now, it doesn't make the taste any better. You wipe your mouth with the back of your hand, shifting on your knees as you look up at him panting softly as you catch your breath. His eyes flutter, his palm reaching to caress your cheek, a smirk coming over his face.

Fives Thoughts

Sooooo I literally just made a post being like 'here are some fun bits from Umbara because the arc is depressing and I don't wanna talk about the sad bits' but uh... I had thoughts in the last 15 mins and now I wanna share them. 😃

And of course tagging as usual for people I'm interested to hear opinions from: @saturn-sends-hugs @inkstainedhandswithrings @the-bi-space-ace

It's been a while since I watched these story arcs back-to-back, so a lot of the character development is really showing atm. And one I find interesting is a shift in Fives between The Citadel and Umbara.

Fives has always had a bit of a firey personality, but up until this point he's been a little bit held back with that passion for the most part. And I'm gonna touch in something that @novaceleste and @spaceyjessa spoke about in their podcast (@coffeeandclones I was just listening to it the other day and they talk about some interesting points. Defo recommend you check it out. Also #JusticeForDroidbait2024) because it really is the basis for this whole point. Despite Fives being the brasher, slightly more hardheaded personality, and Echo being the more by-the-books one, it's Echo that tends to do a lot of the talking when authority is involved. When they speak to Shaak Ti, it's Echo that takes the lead, while Fives is a little more hesitant.

And when they first meet Rex and Cody, Fives automatically introduces himself as CT-27-5555, despite being very open about his displeasure of being called that throughout their training. He has this louder personality but he tends to draw into himself and panic slightly when put in front of authority.

However, he still has these more fiery moments, like during his speech in ARC Troopers. When he's put in a fight, that spark within him comes out full force. "My blood is boiling for a fight." That's what drives Fives. That's where that passion comes from. He always wanted to make ARC trooper, to prove himself and to demonstrate that fire in the fight.

And yet when we get to the Citadel, he's surprisingly nervous. Echo seems to be fairly on board with everything, he's listening intently, he's down with the plan. But Fives is rather hesitant and doesn't seem totally enthused about the whole thing. They've made ARC trooper, they're being included in a specialist mission, the things that Fives so desperately worked for. But now that they're here? He's really not comfortable with it.

And I think that Fives' passion and drive is so prominent in the heat of battle because his adrenaline is going, he's got the energy to burn and so that's when we see this fire in him. But in the quieter moments, the meetings, the in-between fights? He's nervous. Those are the moments where he can sit on it and really think about what they're up against. And what becomes really apparent is that Fives is absolutely terrified of the thing that fuels his fire. The thing he worked so hard for scares the absolute shit out of him. And for good reason.

But it's never been so much of an issue because he had Echo. Echo, who's more level headed, who feels comfortable with plans and formats and authority. He could be the comforting presence that Fives needed outside of battle, while Fives could be the spark in it. They're like fire and water. They keep each other regulated, balanced.

But then The Citadel happens.

And watching the Umbara arc, I noticed that Fives doesn't have that very noticeable fear. It's not that it's absent, it's just that it isn't so obvious all of the time. Of course, some of that is going to come with experience, he's been an ARC for longer, he's know Rex for a while so there's slightly more comfort with that level of authority, but he's definitely more consistently confident than he was before.

So my suggestion is, what if that comes as a result of losing Echo (at least in part)? He doesn't have that calming presence anymore, the one to balance his nerves. He doesn't have someone to stand firm beside him or take the bigger step for the two of them, so he's had to learn to do that himself. I think part of it is natural growth that comes with experience (to quote Rex: "experience outranks everything") but I do also think it comes with no longer having that constant other half. Fives has had to learn to balance himself.

Like I said earlier, a lot of this links back to stuff said in Nova and Jessa's podcast, so I'd recommend checking it out. But I just wanted to add my extra thoughts on it, having just watched Umbara, because it definitely stuck out to me on this rewatch.

Unorganized helluva boss apology tour rant cuz I think I'm going crazy

Disclaimer, cuz I know helluva fans can get defensive: A lot of this is probably my subjective opinion. I'll state my tldr as my actual objective piece of criticism, but otherwise my gripes throughout this could be based on my tastes and expectations. I genuinely don't want to take away anyone's enjoyment of this show nor hate on anyone involved, so if u just want to enjoy helluva, totally skip this :]

I think I'll actually have to give my hot take here and criticize this episode, because everyone has given way too much praise for an episode I think - in the long run - hurts the show

Im not gonna even bother organizing my thoughts I'm just gonna rant, but to start, i think the decision to start the ep right after full moon chronologically wasn't the best move. The full moon episode cliffhanger was an impactful scene and a dramatic way to start the rift between stolas and blitzo. It's where the dam of two-ish seasons finally breaks, where to me, stolas and blitzo have already said everything needed to be said, at least at the emotional maturity they currently are at. Any changes in said conversation about their relationship would require growth from both separately in order to foster a healthy discussion.

So to undercut that tension by IMMIEDTLY having blitzo somehow wiggle his way back into stolas's private property to have both double down on their stance diminishes the weight new moon's finale had. The conversation, while it does add further clarity, feels repetitive and emotionally taxing to watch, because the show has literally zero scenes of either of them reflecting on the previous night. So it's just them starting up the same fight with the same talking points we already know.

Yeah, maybe it is in character for blitzo to demand a conversation after new moon, but it shouldn't have been the path the show took. It should've allowed the story to stew in the feelings brought out in new moon, both in a narrative and meta sense by taking a break from stolatiz.

Cuz honestly I'm a bit drained of it atm. The show sells itself on the premise of blitzo being a "boss" (a hell of a bos-) and him working with imp. But all of s2 has had this obsession with stolatiz ever since the popularity of ozzie's (for good reason that episode was amazing and one of my personal favs still).

Just abt half the eps in s2 carry an emotional weight around the stolitz relationship. (where s1 has stolitz is make out sessions and the occasional threat to their life, s2 takes it up to actual life or death situations and full backstories) . This increased tension and focus draws away from the intial episodic format to become a more serialized (and imo) melodrama abt the status of the stolitz relationship. Rather than concern itself over any of the imp characters and their emotions, helluva has made all of its emotional beats and stakes throughtout the whole season relate to stoltiz in some way (or it's parallel with fizz and Ozzie in ep 7).

To return back to the ep, I also take issue with its writing of verosika. I will admit that this could be subjective, as my partner, who loves verosika and was worried abt her writing going into the ep, enjoyed how the ep integrated her. But idk, I think it is so lame that an ep like full moon, which is marketed to be abt stolitz, is fine wasting its time writing the cherubs for 90% of the episode, while can't bother making verosika a larger character in her own ep.

Like she's a SINGER, but no she's back up for STOLAS'S SONG this ep. And it's not stolas's hasn't had the chance to sing love ballads before, he's got plenty. But no, the host of the party can't even be a duet to stolas, she's gotta be back up. Like it couldve been a way stronger connection between these two if they sang a duet, rather than the show AGAIN prioritizing verbalizing stolas's emotions again.

We get a full flashback to blitzo's relationship with both fizz and stolas, but nothing on his other significant relationship??? Just a line or two of how it went down and that's it??

Side tangent: It gets on my nerves how so many people are realizing now that verosika is not a bad person. Like it's clear from even in her intro ep in s1 ep 3 she's angry rightfully for how blitzo screwed her over. But now that she actually is being nice and forgiving to stolas and blitzo respectively, now she has earned the fandom's respect??? Like the amt of comments of "Oh wow, verosika isn't a villain, she's an anatognist" drives me insane

Like to me, this ep should've stepped away from stolas directly, and focus on blitzo and verosika. Have blitzo go back to ignoring his feelings by jumping back head first into business, now with the asmodeous crystal. Then bump into verosika somehow. However it may happen, verosika and blitzo, either angrily or calmly, reflect on their own past relationship at the end, which might have blitzo making a realization of how he is repeating his past mistakes. Use the episodic format to slowly allow blitzo to mature so the next time he meets stolas, he won't just double down like he did in the beginning of the ep.

I think, personally, the decision to have verosika host the anti blitzo party diminishes her as a character. It chooses to again define her by how blitzo hurt her, rather than touching on the other underdeveloped parts of her character. She has shown to be very petty yes, but to go through all this effort seems too much, since she is a pop star and should have better things to do.

Maybe explore how she, a succubus, who is meant to have primarily sexual relationships, goes abt on her day to day as a celebrity who went to rehab. Or her relationship with maybe knowing barbie. Or the other ways to explore the set ups for her in ep 3. But no, she plays second fiddle to her second focus ep for the stoltiz drama. But yeah sure, let's have full moon be abt the cherubs.

On a final and likely my most pettiest point, this ep made me cringe a lot. I'm sorry, this is very subjective of me, but I need to say it. So much of this ep felt like fanfic. Always hammering in how "he's a prince and you're an imp" kind of deal. Stolas getting overly drunk after taking a swig of one drink to have blitzo handle him being drunk. The million puppy dog eyes by blitzo, like it felt too pitying. The rushed pacing felt like a result of this indulgent kind of writing, where it priotizes creating the cute shipping scenes before thinking about the actual plot and its effect later on. Again, just my taste tho

Alright I think I ranted enough but ...

Tl;dr: Apology tour messes up the pacing and focus of the show by continously centering itself around the stolitz drama rather than allowing time to reflect by themselves

5 second comic reviews because I've been feeling a little creatively stunted lately and have been doing a lot of reading. maybe I'll do more of this kind of thing in the future? who knows

locas/love and rockets: beautiful visuals on account of jaime hernandez being a genius when it comes to weight and form/high contrast shadows, unfortunately it's also unreadable in terms of story or dialogue. as in "I really couldn't tell you what's supposed to be happening in this" unreadable. maybe that's my bad? I've gleaned that it was never really intended to be a serialized comic that gets binged for its story, which makes sense because it seems to change its mind about what it is constantly. I respect it but it isn't for me. one of those things you look at individual panels of and go Wow that's gorgeous and know you will never fully read in your life.

8-bit theater: complete opposite end of the spectrum as the previous comic where the visuals are literally just final fantasy sprites but the story is oddly compelling. I find myself highly endeared by the horrible 2001-era humor for the most part barring some eye-roll inducing homophobia, at least partially out of nostalgia. you ever notice how the internet used to be a lot meaner? well, no I guess the internet is still pretty mean, but the cliquey-ness is in a different tone than it used to be. but everyone who clung to the hardcore nerd life that used to be in high supply online seems to be an omegaracist now. or at least omegaracist in a way where it gets them jobs in the government. okay I'm getting away from myself but it's a very interesting anthropological dig of a comic. also I know what I said about the visuals but tbh I think there's a kind of comedy genius going on in terms of how they adapt cobbled together assets with text to fit within the bounds of the "style", ex:

fun home: it's fun home. everyone just kind of knows fun home is good and then you read it and go Wow this is good! and then you've read fun home. very compelling autobiography, lots of dense art history and literary reference work that's fun if you're a freak ass pretentious nerd like me. they should slap a warning on this thing like "if you fit into the transmasculine-butch ambiguity range and have Fatherly Issues you may want to keep your therapist on standby". I like alison bechdel's artistic style more than I like alison bechdel as a person. end of review

jimmy corrigan, smartest kid on earth: crazy fucking good. insanely fraught depiction of american alienation and how insecurity surrounding white masculinity plays into violence which plays into racism. format made my brain hurt which was awesome. the flat colors work in the style's favor so well it's crazyyyyy Please read this one

atomic robo: started reading because it's a later work by the guy who did 8-bit theater, the fact that this is still going (started in 2007!!) really speaks to the delusional mindset of comic artists where you're pretty sure working on a comic will extend your lifespan indefinitely (myself included). probably a little early to write a review because I'm very early into it and As I said this shit started in 2007 so it's a little generic atm but the action visuals are very readable and the dialogue is pretty funny, reminds me of the earlier tf2 comics a lot. main problem is that whereas 8 bit theater is just supposed to be dumb and funny atomic robo is more of a full on Story with Action and Adventure and shit but there's a big #1 Rule in the "about" section that says "no angst", which...

yeah I don't know how else to put it but this is just kind of pathetically male. Ooh look at me I refuse to allow my main character vulnerability, which as we all know is never compelling or allows for a deeper level of story for readers to engage with. everything should just be Cool or Funny and if it's not one of those two things then it's for wimmen and gays I guess. immature. but then I guess I'm expecting too much picking an old snarky webcomic up off the sticky floor of the comix shop and looking for something both funny AND emotionally intelligent.

stuck rubber baby: historically important in a lot of ways but I hate the art style so bad I couldn't finish it sorry howard cruse. guess my values have been corrupted by my prioritization of the aesthetic.... or something....

the glass scientists: another webcomic that's been going on longer than dirt. admittedly I didn't start this one recently I started it back in 202..1? 2022? honestly I'm just including it because I'm so conflicted about it. I keep up with it semi-regularly even though there's a lot of objectively better webcomics I put off catching up on and I think it may fulfill some sort of... soap opera niche... in my brain.. that I didn't think existed. it's like if bl was good. but it also sucks. I'm mostly compelled by the idea of adapting jekyll & hyde into a depiction of something almost resembling DID/OSDD that's also just meant to represent jekyll's internalized homophobia and sexual shame. the downside is that the visuals are a little perverted by the nature of sage cotugno's history in animation making everything a little too audience-and-advertising friendly. which is maybe a bastardization of the word "perverted" when what I mean is "not perverse enough". why put gay sex in your comic that's supposedly about embracing the freakish part of yourself if it's going to be the equivalent of slapping two hairless ken dolls together? why is everyone so damn thin?!?!?! idk. kind of a recurring problem with the art industry right now where things are simultaneously trying to present mature subject matter but are informed by an advertising-friendly background so they just end up kind of... shallow and childish in their presentation. sad.

run away to the stars: fucking awesomeeeeee no notes. very fresh off the presses right now but I do love the worldbuilding, the attention to detail is insane. made me do a lot of thinking about my own scifi comic ventures and what I'd like to focus on... while I prefer to lean towards anthropology and social theory/politics just in general, I have a lot of admiration for the commitment to alien biology. big recommend

orchard of the tame: there were so many instances in this book where I would look at a huge fucking panel spread and think Jeeeeesus christ how long did it take to draw this thing???? which is the mark of a good comic, I think. and unmedicated insanity. it's immediately obvious that this is the work of over the garden wall's art director because you look at it and go Oh yeah this guy has job security. or at least you'd think so, but that being said I'm just now finding out this was funded through a kickstarter, which is insane. comic artists should be eating gold-flaked truffles and whole suckling pigs. anyway this is some of the most gorgeous use of high contrast shadows that I've ever seen and I think the usage on cartoony character shapes is genius. similarly to OTGW I think this is a great example of a work for kids that feels like it's genuinely For them while still not holding back on the dark and scary parts of the world, sort of a modern successor to the grimm's fairy tale tradition. one of the only works here I actually paid for a physical copy of which Yowza that was 30 fucking dollars but I can't be too mad about it. looks good on the shelf.

a contract with god: will eisner's work is good in the way a lot of classic disney is good in the sense that you come out of it with a lot of appreciation for the historical technical development of the artform even though you spent most of the time watching/reading it pretty bored. maybe I am too inundated by the limitless expansion of storytelling in modern day comics to appreciate eisner's approach to getting comics into the "literature" category on bookshelves but I don't have a lot to say about it other than "it looks really good" and "typically misogynistic" and "our complit professor probably should say something about the sexual assault in these before we read them but maybe I am corrupted by le woke mob."

I’m in need of some advice and kind words. As a fellow writer I’m really struggling to believe people will and want to read my stuff. There’s no real engagement anymore and I’m worried that if I post my long-form fic that no one will give it a chance. It’s really bringing me down because I love it so much but it feels like no matter what I try to do my stuff just doesn’t get seen or liked? I’ve even thought about changing my entire way of how I do things since I don’t think the way I write is working for the masses. How do you keep up the motivation as a popular writer and do you have an advice?

Hello anon!! I feel like this is something many of us currently deal with. And first of all I seriously hope that you do share your story!! ♡

To be completely honest with you the lack of engagement in the fandom has for sure impacted my own motivation which is why I haven't been putting as much time into longer fics (nor the Friday Nights series or IKNBS, I do write but I refuse to force myself). I don't feel any urgency because uploading fics hasn't made me as happy as it used to. It feels like only other active writers are reading fic atm and it creates a lot of pressure on creatives to stay super active.

I'm aware that I'm insanely privileged to have the engagement that I do have, that the type of stories I want to write are also the type of stories that generally seem to appeal. However, engagement tells you NOTHING about the quality of your work, only how many people are active in a fandom or like a specific pairing/character/trope. Your own unique voice matters more than numbers.

I also notice that a lot of people who used to read my works have disappeared which I completely understand. The fixation can ebb away during times of inactivity or when a certain hype dies down. People just don't get that dopamine hit anymore and move on. It's also entirely possible they get tired of a certain style of writing and prefer other writers at times, what do I know. I definitely don't blame anyone for that. First and foremost people should read for their own enjoyment and engage with fandom in a way that makes them happy. It makes no sense to pressure people into engaging. A huge issue right now is people overthinking these things which makes support transactional instead of genuine.

I don't care much about notes but I REALLY miss the feeling of sharing a fic with people who are excited for it, that sense of an active community. BUT the activity will come back – the movie will come out, new music and videos, heck even a whole new Papa!!! That's the natural flow of things. We can't be excited and super active all the time, we need phases of calmness as well (which is an act of rebellion in the capitalist hellscape of overproduction and churned out content. I am honestly glad Ghost is taking it easy).

Now, I recommend you write your story exactly how you want to!!! do NOT change it for the sake of popularity because it will lose its very soul and you will struggle to be happy with it by the end. You know how you want to tell your story and nothing else matters. It will find its readers or you can wait and share it at a later point. I recommend that you approach other writers and readers and intensify that contact, make friends and talk to them about your stories, hype each other up, share snippets. It's even more meaningful to know people you like enjoy what you do. I am currently working on super niche fics for non-Ghost characters and I'm honestly having a great time chasing that dopamine by just writing what I'm really into and sharing it with friends. Fandom is community, fandom is fun and we can work to make it better for everyone.

A few general tips when it comes to making stories accessible: Format them to be readable (paragraphs!!), add a "read more" break, add proper content information and a nice summary to draw people in, add some visual appeal like a banners or stock image edits (like i do for IKNBS) and then tag the fics with relevant tags (and only those). Also make sure to tag the OG post, tags on reblogs do nothing for reach. Engage with the community when you feel like it and it's likely that the community will engage back. Being supportive is worth it, being kind is always worth it even if it amounts to nothing.

i agree that the podcast really is so interesting — and imo it's a lot of plain gossip and tv criticism masked as "professional insight", which i live for lmao — but there are times she is really too much... she often mocks or eye-rolls things in a way that, again, doesn't feel constructive and comes off as very rude. mean girl energy. it also bothers me how she will talk at richard instead of engaging in a back and forth, and sometimes that turns into an episode in which she speaks 80% of the time. then again, as content cycles throughout the year, sometimes what's on/hot atm is just more in her wheelhouse than his, so we just have to wait for new taskmaster, new bbc comedies, new doctor who, whatever interests him, and then hopefully he'll have even more opportunities to shine... i do cherish when he gets a chance to speak lmao

i'll work on tracking that down!! it would be fun to watch more of them 😋

anyways, i'm not sure what her aims are atm... she's done quite a bit of comedy but am i the only one who thinks she would body a crime series? or something like broadchurch?

glad you got a chance to catch my response and watch some fun things! i was thinking a little more about what else to recommend, and i think if you enjoy the quirky nature of repertoire then you should check out huge davies, and if you enjoy the storytelling format like greg davies typically does then you should try out dara ó briain and russell howard (maybe the 2021 lubricant special to start) :) enjoy!!

hahaha this is funny... it's a good question 😅 there are a few reasons... he's good bantz! he doesn't take himself too seriously, laughs at himself, can be teased, isn't mean spirited. people really appreciate that. plus, he represents a lot of people who aren't otherwise on tv — not primetime bbc, at least. there starts to be an issue when he just...doesn't try, doesn't contribute. he's fallen asleep on like three different shows? didn't he just...not show up to the second-half of his bakeoff special? often he's got nothing to say? mo really carried the convos on his talk show, his teammates carried him on bfq, and so on. he just doesn't seem to have the interest or perhaps the stamina (orrr perhaps the respect) for long records 😅

I'm currently working on a visual novel called Villain Reform School.

I haven't talked about it much recently, because I don't know when chapter 1 will be fully completed. We're getting really close, but there's still a lot to do. I work full time outside of this and the team I can afford is a lead programmer and my brother on editing.

(I'm the author, artist, audio director, and secondary programmer on it. So there's a lot of hats I've been cycling through.) Having watched games crash under the wieght of doing that and maintaining a media presense, I decided to focus on making it first and promoting it once it's out.

Fanfiction and fanart is a nice creative break for me. The hardest part of a project like this is I have black and white thinking when it comes to progress on it (either it's done or it's not). Where as fics and art I can post in stages and get instant feedback on.

I have an interest in writing original novels, but finding a literary audience is difficult for someone like me, who sucks at networking and works nights. I am working on an original story atm, but I don't have the first chapter finished yet. Right now it's just a for fun thing. (It's going to be about a witch princess/trainee trying to teach a boy how to be a witch just to prove she can. It ends badly.)

Warrior U Fanmade is a project I'm also working on. It is a fancomic, but I have the creator's permission to distribute anything I make with Warrior U so long as I properly credit her. (She's moved onto different projects) It's a fan continuation of the orginal comic, but I tried to write it in a way that anyone jumping in at this point will have an easy time getting into it.

Changeling acts a stand alone fantasy story about Finn meeting the rich family that disowned his mother for using magic.

I have a collaborator who helped a bunch with the first issue, and our physicial copies are set to be available online next week!

I've been working on this at the same time as other fandom stuff so it updates online weekly. I learned a lot from this issue and have gone from just writing and illustrating to figuring out the storyboard and paneling side of things.

Idk if I'd ever want to do an original comic. My love for complicated character designs demands the VN format.

I have a couple VN ideas, but Villain Reform School is the one I wanted to have the most creative control over. It's also a meaty project. Prologue and Chapter 1 are around 90 k together and there's supposed to be 5 in total. Some of the major mechanics I want haven't been 100% ironed out yet. And I need to get player feedback on certain story elements first before I commit to writing another 180k of a playstyle we might have to rework or cut.

Honestly while for a long time my TCG of choice was MTG, I'm feeling called to Yu-Gi-Oh atm. I think this is partially because it has funnier core issues than MTG. Like MTG and the many cardgames it inspired use resource systems, this means everything has a cost, but that you may find yourself mana screwed if you get too few lands or mana flooded if you get too many. Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't have resources. In Yu-Gi-Oh the card Pot of Greed has been banned for decades because it allows you to draw 2 cards with no downside. In MTG there are lots of formats that cycle, as things only remain legal in them for certain ammounts of time. Yu-Gi-Oh has no such thing, every once in a while the anime needs a new gimmick and they make a new type of monster card and mechanic creep causes the game to become even more complex, things are either legal to play or they're limited or banned. All the cool cards from when you were a kid and you were watching the anime are mid actually, Blue Eyes White Dragon doesn't even have an effect, and you can use Exodia and win with it but it's only good for shitpost decks. Deeply overcomplicated and unserious TCG that understands that cards with pictures of cool dragons, long ass names, and walls of tiny effect text are dope as fuck actually.

congrats on making a public inquiry on a line of interest situated in the middle of a venn diagram of like four things i've been thinking about a lot lately, your prize is this ask that is so long that in the time spent writing it and checking info someone less annoying may have directed you to some of it! this is all like easy enough to google but just in case it feels less uuhh to have someone with an approximate knowledge on some things offer you some pointers: here are some pointers

(i AM ALSO a thousands of CD's type of guy, but i've not done any big digital management of them since the last time i was regularly using ipods in the 2000s, n i am kinda Prepping for big digital management around my current standing main hyperfixation (participants of a season of an old korean idol reality competition show, a collection of Too Many Gotdamn People who have made Too Much Gotdamn Music) but i don't actually currently own a lot of the physical media there, so none of this are pointer from like. oh here is a workflow i am using etc, but)

answers to your two questions are 1) file sizes really depend on lots of factors but rule of thumb is that in a collection of 'normal song' mp3 file size averages out to 5-7MB a song, and a 3-4min mp3 file being >10MB is surprising

and 2) re: storage prices, 1TB (~1,000,000MB, so probably ~166,666MB 3min mp3's) in external harddrive will run at about £50 in western digital brands atm (western digital is what i've been occasionally looking at for my data management thing bc i've seen it mentioned specifically as more reliable than seagate, which i have had issues with; anecdotally, my mum's WD elements has lasted her about a year longer than her seagates kick the bucket). prices atm on curry's stack up at £80 for 2TB, £108 for 4TB, £180 for 8TB

refurbished is an option when it's 'rectified' and sold by the company itself; for WD, those prices atm stack up at £30 for 1TB, £35 for 2TB, £55-60 for 4TB (their page for these are https://www.westerndigital.com/en-gb/products/recertified) (i do not know enough about this area and would wanna look up specific reviews on a company's rectifying track record before purchasing myself, so obv do the same)

I did see this ask this morning when I woke up, but I didn't want to deal with fighting formatting on my phone at work, or my phone autocorrecting "Lone Star" to "alone Star" every single time (the number of times I've had to correct it is literally.... 100% of the times I've typed it), so I'm finally getting around to it now!

911, the original show, is set in Los Angeles. 911 Lone Star is a spin off show set in the same universe but in Austin, Texas. There are a few nods back and forth between the two, but only one real crossover episode (on Lone Star) that you don't really have to know much about the original for (I watched Lone Star first and I wasn't that confused, but I was already semi-familiar with the OG characters, too, so I might not be the best person to ask on that front)

I'm... still mad about last night's episode of 911. I'm trying to be optimistic that the storyline will play out better than it looks like right now. But as of 6x11, I'm not a huge fan of the original show. Everything up until this point has been really enjoyable, though. I think season 4 was my favorite for a while. Season 6a was really good! The first 9 episodes of season 6? I have very few complaints. Even 6x10, fantastic. I just...

Lone Star is really good, though.

There's a lot of great representation in it - my heart loves Tarlos (if you're following me you like Moustead, right? there's another gay police officer/former drug addict ship! and this one's canon! and getting married!) , and Paul (a black, trans firefighter), and a confirmed(?) bisexual character, too. It's a lot of fun. It's definitely the funnier show of the two, if you want to start with something lighter and see if you enjoy the universe before you get any further into it! (if you do watch Lone Star, and you're as observant as I am, Knox will jump scare you in season 1. just prepare for that. because it startled me)

Honestly, even with my issues with 911 OG right now, it's a lot of fun, too. I know I post a lot about Buck and Eddie and their relationship (not canon! it's not canon! it's queerbait and it's actually a lot of fun to enjoy the crumbs they give us if you acknowledge that! just keep your expectations reasonable and it's fun, I promise), but I love.... literally every character and every ship I've seen so far, besides the Parents? Most of the parents suck.

Yeah, sorry for the lack of updates, I'm either planning something for another time (which atm, it's gonna be a bit-) or I just had not anything simple to work on (Well... fanime wise that is. I've been deep in another simple project that is an RPG Maker Game.)

Hello! The cups are a tricky one because a lot of the dates aren't finalised yet, and also unfortunately most games seem to be played during the week leaving league matches to weekends. But I'll try to give you as much info as I can and let me know if you need anything else because I may just be going on tangents you weren't asking about to begin with lol

This year the Conti Cup format has changed, as in those teams qualified for the CL like arsenal haven't been drawn into any group yet as if they reach past the qualification round of the CL they'll be drawn automatically into the quarterfinals (taking place in January 2022). Only if they are knocked out by Slava Prague in the next two games will they enter the group stages which will start on the 13th/14th of October. I dont think the full fixture schedule has been released yet but here is where there is the most official information atm.

As for the FA Cup, here are the dates for each of the rounds, Arsenal will enter in the fourth(?) round proper. However, the 2020/21 FA Cup was not completed due to covid issues so arsenal will play the quarterfinals of that at home on the 29th. If they get through then semis will be on the 31st October.

Then finally the CL, if they get through then they will be drawn into a group after which we'd know fixtures for sure, but for the moment this is the general outline of the scheduled dates

I hate how when you reject a word, people will accuse you of being eg: A terf when I reject the word "Queer" for personal reasons, including that I'm not American/English and I view it as being specific to that history, and it's just not a term I identify with. So do not like it used about me. I do not speak against people who've reclaimed it personally, and if it's their identity I'll use it for them. I just don't like it as a "World wide descriptor"

2/2 for anyone of any LGBTQIA+ identity. It also feels like it often is used in certain contexts, to erase divides in LGBTQIA+ identities, which need to be acknowledged and should be, because the experiences can be so different, not just from cis/het people, but also from within. I constantly have deal with ppl claiming "not using queer is terf behaviour" or have been and seen others be told "It's not a slur, we've reclaimed it" when that isn't how it works, since you can't speak for everyone.

on the post, I mentioned how "once I had to censor the word schizo in a server, in the comment "I'm a schizo-spectrum person, and it's literally the word for our disorders, so banning all use of it doesn't make sense", and that's fucking ridiculous." and schizo is undoubtedly used as a slur, that doesn't mean you can go "I don't like it, so it's not the group term", as the post says, queer history, queer studies, etc, are very very established terms and fields, and not liking the word isn't going to change that. in that context, it is not a slur, it is not being used as a slur - like I said trying to have "X is a slur and Y is not" boxes where X and Y are specific words just isn't helpful or productive because that isn't how it works - it's not being used as a derogatory term towards LGBT+ people, just like gay isn't a slur when you say "gay people" but it is if you say "those fucking gay weirdos". you can dislike the word, just like you could dislike gay, if that had been used against you (as it has been for lots of us), and you've got every right to not want to be called it and you're not a terf for that, but you can't change established fields and the names for them based on your own comfort with one word. it's also not used to erase divides in any context I've seen - there's a lot of the overlap in issues faced by LGBT+ people, and while sometimes some issues are more often specific to one group, there's a fuck tonne of grey area. there's not really a situation where somebody can't face bigotry that's typically directed at a group they don't belong to - from mistaken identity to unique situations or circumstances, weird stuff happens in the world and there's a lot more overlap than is found by using lazy analysis that wants to put everyone in boxes. any two given bi people could have wildly different experiences from each other, and a bi person might have nearly identical experiences to a gay person, because everyone is an individual - there are trends, yes, but those trends aren't rules. some people find queer easier to say than LGBT+ when you're talking, some people study queer studies, some people have dealt with a lot of people using "LGBTQIABCDEFG alphabet people" type rhetoric and don't like LGBT+ as a result, and it's all just weird out there, and while people can try to be respectful of what is comfortable for you in an interpersonal dialogue, but if the whole world changed language based on what slurs each person wanted to ban then we would quickly run out of words to use at all. you're not a terf for your preferences but there was a whole online psyop pushed almost exclusively by terfs and exclus people in order to demonise ace, aro, trans, enby, etc, people, and that's why people say it's a terfy thing. that's the root of the discourse lately.
