Integration by Parts – Class 12 Mathematics Notes
Introduction:
Integration by Parts is a crucial technique in integral calculus, especially useful when dealing with the integration of the product of two functions. It is derived from the product rule of differentiation and helps solve complex integrals that cannot be integrated directly. Understanding this method thoroughly will aid in solving various problems in CBSE Class 12 board exams and competitive exams like JEE Main.
Tumblr media
Formula for Integration by Parts:
If u = f(x) and v = g(x), then:
∫ u·v dx = u ∫v dx - ∫ (du/dx · ∫v dx) dx
Or simply,
∫ u·v dx = uv - ∫ v·(du/dx) dx
Choosing u and v – ILATE Rule:
To select which function to differentiate and which to integrate, use the ILATE rule:
I: Inverse Trigonometric functions L: Logarithmic functions A: Algebraic functions T: Trigonometric functions E: Exponential functions
Solved Examples of Integration by Parts:
Evaluate ∫ x · e^x dx
Let u = x (Algebraic), dv = e^x dx Then, du = dx, and v = ∫ e^x dx = e^x Apply the formula: ∫ x·e^x dx = x·e^x - ∫ e^x dx = x·e^x - e^x + C Answer: ∫ x·e^x dx = e^x(x - 1) + C
Evaluate ∫ ln x dx
Let u = ln x, dv = dx Then, du = (1/x) dx, v = ∫ dx = x Apply the formula: ∫ ln x dx = x·ln x - ∫ x·(1/x) dx = x·ln x - ∫ 1 dx = x·ln x - x + C Answer: ∫ ln x dx = x(ln x - 1) + C
Evaluate ∫ x · sin x dx
Let u = x, dv = sin x dx Then, du = dx, v = ∫ sin x dx = -cos x Apply the formula: ∫ x·sin x dx = -x·cos x + ∫ cos x dx = -x·cos x + sin x + C Answer: ∫ x·sin x dx = -x·cos x + sin x + C
Special Cases and Tips:
Some integrals may require repeated application of the formula. For example: ∫ x^2 e^x dx
Practice Questions
1. ∫ x · cos x dx 2. ∫ x · ln x dx 3. ∫ x^2 · e^x dx 4. ∫ arctan x dx 5. ∫ ln x dx
Conclusion:
Integration by Parts is a powerful technique in calculus, especially when dealing with products of functions. Mastery of the ILATE rule and regular practice of varied problems ensures confidence and accuracy in the exams.

joy log 3/10
worked on my jais fic 😈😈 it [the first half] is even closer to done. only a paragraph or 2 to connect what I have to the ending sequence which ive already got planned out & will be easy
worked on my jais blood drawing the blood is looking real good now
did a baller hades 2 run
mom fried me rice for dindin
inexcusable evil sample got here. it doesn't smell like blood to me or my family it's wood & spice & smoke & a lil gunpowder, overall very pleasant tho quite strong & enduring
other than that. I sat down to do my math homework at 6pm and finished it at 3am. first 6 hours was on 4 problems of material we haven't gone over in class (accident) & the 12 problems for this week took me only 3 hours. meaning I was 6x faster at them. there's not a single other thing in my life I could spend 9 waking hours doing in one day. I will be rewarding myself handsomely for this bc what the actual fuck.
the homework was on iterated integrals, for the record. beautiful shit. area under a 3 dimensional curve. actually my all-time favorite part of calculus thus far and that's Saying Something
jangle & ais 🤤

Meus ex Machina, Chapter 12: Working Out
Tumblr media
Edited public domain image of two hands reaching for each other, lit in deep blue and neon green.
Prev - Working Out - Next - Masterpost - [ AO3 ]
Logan is determined not to slow down the team again. It wouldn't be the first time he'd pushed his body to the limit.
Logan slipped through the locker room door just before it clanked shut, closing in three dozen or so students in the musky, humid air. "Watch it!" he warned a knot of augmented juniors as they chased past, jostling his safety glasses. His cry went unnoticed over their excited laughter.
He sidled close to the only other full Traditional he could spot, a tall, muscular sophomore. The boy may not have been born with Powers, but he’d certainly clutched a winning genetics lottery ticket on his way into the world.
“Hey, Lo, check it out!” Andrei cheered, lifting his shirt to reveal a translucent implant above his right hip. “Look what my parents got me for my birthday!” Nodding, Logan watched the lights flicker, micro-adjusting his hormone and electrolyte levels. “No more charley horses for me, huh?”
“Indeed,” he murmured. No more leg cramps, no more muscle fatigue. And with a daily boost of somatropin, he’d grow at least another foot and a half before he graduated. “Congratulations.” Logan forced a smile, adjusting his now-fogged eyeglasses. “You will certainly—”
“Alright boys, listen up!” The wrestling coach stepped up onto a nearby bench and whistled. Two freshmen with new hearing augments winced and covered their ears. He waited for the din to lessen and tapped his wrist, activating the ceiling's vid projector. Thanks to Title IV of the Powerds Integration Act, blah blah blah,” he rolled his eyes and two of the older Powerds glared at him. “We’re down to one boy’s team this year with space for five Traditionals.”
Five? Logan's stomach dropped to his feet. There had been fifteen Traditionals in last year’s team plus four alternates. He scanned the room as the coach called out the new team’s roster. Jake and Kirthi high fived behind the coach, reaching nearly his height now with the summer’s growth injections taking effect. Ben stood in the corner, dark shades covering new eyes.
Logan's mouth went dry when he realized he was the last of the Traditionals team who hadn’t yet been augmented. Tim wasn’t there, of course, though Logan saw him from time to time between classes, slouched in his motorized chair, waiting for the school’s singular elevator.
“And… Sanders,” the coach finished. Thirty four sets of eyes whipped over to him and Logan tried to stand a little taller. And tried to ignore the other student’s murmurs.
“It’ll be a good year, Coach,” he said.
Coach Roberts nodded, eyes fixed at a spot just above his head. “Suit up, boys. I want you all out and sparring in pairs in five.”
Logan kept his eyes trained down and focused on his own preparations as the locker room exploded in activity. Laughter and slamming doors rattled his teeth, the usual scramble to shed street clothes and don stretchy singlets—or, in the case of several boys, trade in for the next size up—no longer lending him its usual energizing buzz.
The day wasn't finished with him yet. With an odd number of Traditionals on the team, it was a simple matter of the math not mathing to require a Traditional to that be paired with a Powered.
Coach Roberts patted Logan’s shoulder as he stepped up to his side of the mat. “Look, Sanders, do your best out there. No-one expects much more than that from you.”
Logan looked up into Coach Robert’s camera-ringed irises. “Y—yes, Coach,” he nodded and turned to face his opponent. The coach had at least tried to give him a chance, matching Logan with a Powered in the same weight class.
But how much did weight class really matter when your opponent’s muscles powered a skeleton stronger than titanium? When your opponent could sense your thoughts, predicting your every move?
He managed to stay on his feet for the first round. Until, at least, his sparring partner grew bored and stopped tamping down on his other abilities. In seconds, Logan was down, face jammed into the mat. He struggled but his opponent countered each twist, each desperate attempt to break free. Finally, Logan tapped out.
The Powered—a new student Logan hadn’t even learned his name—loomed over him. “Good job.” He tonelessly repeated the team’s end of match phrase and looked around for his next partner.
Logan pushed up to his feet and wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his hand and shook his head. “Best two out of three.”
~
“Time?” Logan panted, controller shaking in his grip as he brought the mech's hands together in the ready signal. He’d boosted the suit’s stabilizers, so from the outside, at least, his durasteel arms moved smoothly. But Logan knew.
“219.8 seconds. Better,” V smiled encouragingly but the flatness in his tone and the twitch in his eyebrow said it all. Logan still took entirely too long to properly suit up.
He deflated, leaned to one side in the mech’s cavity. Logan pulled in a shaking breath, fighting to slow his panting, and nodded. “Indeed. Better.” Better but not enough.
"Get your bearings and we’ll go again,” V suggested, still smiling as he passed him a towel. It was only then Logan noticed he was drenched, sweat dripping from his hair and soaking through his shirt.
Logan smiled his thanks—tried to, at least, and V nodded again, a bottle of electrolyte ready. His smile grew, just a bit. He hadn't yet exhausted V's patience. Logan would keep going for as long as he was willing to help him.
V looked up when Patton approached from the kitchen, hugging a large crate to his burly chest. The scents of strawberries and fresh bread and chocolate chip cookies intermingled in the air as he stopped. He shifted the box to one arm to wave at them. “I’m headed, ah…” He waggled his head vaguely toward the hall and Logan’s brow furrowed before understanding struck.
“Is he…” V frowned and swiped across his tablet, searching. Trying not to be obvious, Logan peeked over his shoulder and caught a glimpse of The Muse’s hallway on the screen.
“No, he—nothing’s wrong. Just…” Patton shrugged and looked down at the crate. “After yesterday, I…”
Hesper’s cryptic words from last night filled Logan’s mind. “What makes you think I didn’t trigger your alarms so I could have a little company… just like Re used to?”
“Can I help?” Logan blurted out before looking down at his useless half a hand, his broken body. His face burned, stomach knotted in shame at his utter uselessness.
Patton’s smile was gentle. “Um, that’s okay, Kiddo. I got this.” He didn’t bother to ask how precisely Logan thought he could help in a room he couldn’t reach in his mech. In a room he couldn’t even enter without assistance. Still holding the giant crate of food with one arm, he gently squeezed Logan’s—not the mech’s—shoulder. “But thanks. I’ll let you both get back to your drills.”
He gave them another little wave then headed down the hall. Listening to the elevator door open then swish closed, Logan finished his drink and passed V the empty bottle.
“Ready?” he asked, switching back to his timer.
“Yes.” Logan lowered the mech to a crouch and began to climb out. But Patton's arrival broke the dam on the flood of questions from last night. In his distraction, he nearly fell out of the cavity. “Well… wait.” He met V’s questioning glance. “What did Hesper mean… about The Prince as a little boy? Did he… Did Hesper know him back then?” V scowled down at his tablet but Logan pushed on. “Is that why he called The Muse, ‘Re?’”
Tapping at the screen, V started to speak, then his jaw clamped shut. He let out a slow breath before looking back at Logan. “It’s not really my story to tell. I…” He sighed again.
For a moment, Logan feared V would try sending him to The Prince with his questions. “Yeah,” V said at last. “Yeah, there’s… there’s a history. You…” V winced and wouldn’t quite meet his eyes. “Maybe ask Silvertongue… um… later, though.” He nodded like it was obvious why he should wait. “You know?”
Was there more to Silvertongue’s outburst last night, too? “I’ll wait,” he promised. “Thank—thank you.”
“Yeah.” V blew out a short breath and returned his attention to the tablet. “Ready for another go?”
Logan dropped the last foot or so, hitting the ground with a barely muffled groan. He climbed up into his chair, replicating his starting point. “I’m ready,” he said, looking up at the suit.
V stared at him for a long moment. “You know, maybe…” He looked away when Logan tried to meet his eyes, tugging at his sleeves.
“Maybe what?” Logan prompted, bracing himself for what passed for yet another bit of ‘constructive’ criticism.
“Maybe you just need to work on your strength a bit,” he said with a little shrug. “If you want, I could show you how to modify a couple of the machines in the fitness center to—”
“Show me.”
That was how Logan ended up strapped to the pull-up machine in the team’s fitness center, the bright automated trainer chirping out his reps into a sweat-proof earpiece. “And twenty. Good job! You’ve finished your workout—”
“Again!” Logan snapped, tugging at the bar as the platform lowered him to the floor.
“You have completed your recommended three sets of twenty, Logan,” the interface chirped back. Though its tone never changed, Logan couldn’t help but flinch at the sound of his own name. Constructed from heavily modded tech ‘borrowed’ from Abracadabra, the interface sounded just like the old assignment program back at the distribution center.
“I don’t care. Again!” He batted at the controls with the end of his left stump but the panel went dark.
“I am unable to comply with your request.” The artificial voice switched over to the main speakers when it ended his session, like it wanted a witness. “Please try again tomorrow.”
“You’re better off arguing with the refridgerator, Tin Man,” the Prince chuckled from the corner.
“How long have you been watching me?” Logan snapped, face warm. While the automated trainer didn’t record his strained grunts during his workout, the Prince was the absolute last person he’d want to hear him struggling to do a simple pull-up.
The Prince lifted a barbell packed with 300 pounds on either side. The weight floated up to his chin, before he raised it up above his head and back down to the floor in one perfect, flowing motion.
The weights didn’t even clank when they touched the mat.
“Long enough to see you max out your reps,” he said, barely pausing for his own weight routine. “Hit the showers or something.”
“I’m not done,” Logan muttered, pushing himself off the platform. Fatigued muscles trembling under the strain, he dropped faster than he’d planned, landing with a pained grunt as his hip grazed the base of the pull up machine.
“Don’t tell me it’s leg day for you.”
“Oh, ha, ha,” Logan muttered, hiding his face until he could control the shameful quiver in his chin. “With wit like that, it’s little wonder you’re the brains of the team. Oh, no, wait—You’re not.”
The Prince shrugged and spared him any further conversation, instead loading on another 100 pound plate to each side of his dumbbell. Shaking his head, Logan pulled himself into his chair and moved to the far corner of the fitness room, keeping as many weight machines between him and The Prince as he could.
When he’d found a suitable place, he lowered himself to the floor again, taking it slowly this time. Laying flat on his back with his chair in front of him, he wedged his thighs between the front and back wheels, bracing his lower body for crunches.
It worked well. For a while, at least. To remain steady, Logan had to tighten his abductors with each crunch, pushing against the wheels to keep them—and himself—from rocking with the movement.
He pushed on, the chair straining against its emergency brakes with each rep. Finally, the brake snapped free and the chair flipped back.
“Fuck.” Logan pounded his fist and the back of his head against the mat and lay back, eyes closed, as he gathered the strength to push the chair upright. With any luck, the Prince had already finished his strongman routine and left the gym.
Logan was not a lucky man.
“Need a hand?”
Logan glared up at him from the floor.
“Oh, shit, yeah…” He shuffled closer, ears tinged pink as he avoided looking at Logan’s stump. “I—I didn’t mean that one. I swear.” He gestured at the overturned wheelchair. “Can I help?”
“I’ve got it,” Logan muttered, pushing up and wiggling closer to the chair. He rolled onto his belly then wormed his way into the gap between the back of the chair and the floor. Once he’d gotten most of his body underneath it, he wedged his right hand under his chest and pushed up sharply.
It took two more tries but finally the chair tilted forward and Logan twisted with it, grabbing the strap criss-crossing the back of the chair to steady it before it tipped completely forward.
“Damn,” the Prince murmured.
“You’re still here?” Logan leaned against the seat back, panting, and in no way ready to either resume his crunches or climb into the chair.
The Prince shifted his weight from side to side, one foot pointed toward the door, the other toward him. Finally, he dropped to the floor and sat about two feet away. Jerking his chin toward the chair, he shrugged. “What were you even doing to knock over that beast?”
Logan eyed The Prince and considered ignoring his question. If he really was that nosy, he could just as easily pull up the security footage and that might be worse than simply hearing about it. Sighing, Logan let his eyes fall closed. “I was using it to brace my… legs for abdominal crunches. The other machine's not built for me.”
The Prince made a little choked sound in the back of his throat. Not a laugh, but…
Eyes still shut, Logan wiggled back into position and prepared himself for another set. If he could increase his core strength, maybe the one-armed pull-ups would get easier faster.
Logan’s eyes snapped open when he felt movement next to him. The Prince had moved closer, knelt on the floor only about a half-foot away, hands laying open on his lap. His expression was unreadable.
“Lay your legs against mine. I’ll brace you,” he said, patting the tops of his thighs and glancing down at where Logan’s legs ended. To the Prince’s credit, the usual mix of pity and disgust flashing over his features didn’t last long.
The Prince waited, holding his gaze until, finally, Logan nodded. He moved a little closer, but let Logan be the one to move close enough to touch and set his legs in place. “May I?” he asked, holding his hands over the tops of Logan’s thighs.
“Go—” Logan cleared his throat, the vulnerability of his position seizing the muscles in his neck. If he'd wanted to, The Prince could pick him up and fling him against the wall and not even break a sweat. “Go ahead,” he finally croaked out. With flat, open hands, The Prince pressed against his legs, holding him in place.
“I’ll let go the moment you tell me to,” the Prince said, then fell silent as Logan resumed his crunches.
He loathed to admit it, but focusing on only one set of muscles made the crunches almost enjoyable. Almost. “This helps,” Logan grunted. “Immensely.” He forced himself up for another two crunches. “Thank you.”
“Anytime,” The Prince replied, repeating his own words back at him from last night's skirmish with Hesper.
Logan pushed out the last of the set and lay back, counting down a thirty second rest period. He lifted up again and silently worked through another set. He slowed as he neared the end, muscles screaming in protest. “Why…" The temptation to ask The Prince about his history with Hesper—and about Re—was great. He shifted to the next question bubbling in his mind instead. "What are you helping me, anyway? I thought… I thought you hated me.”
“I don’t—” The twitch in The Prince’s jaw told Logan he very much did. “We’re a team,” he shrugged at last. “If you’re stronger, we’re all stronger. C’mon, Iron Man, that all you got?" Did Logan only imagine a smile behind his eyes? "Gimme three more.”

Passing this on :p
Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love! 💞
Ahhhhh thank you so much!!!!!! This is so nice of you to send >:] tysm <3
I'm going to recommend both Elisabeth and Endeavour fics because I've spent a lot of time writing for both!! So let's get to it, in no order of preference:
Feel The Night - Endeavour (TV) - rated T, Morse x Jakes, vampire AU, Victorian setting, mystery/romance, ballroom dancing, neck biting, strangers to lovers, 5 chapters / 23.5k
This is secretly a TdV / Endeavour fusion (from before my full-blown euromusical era hehehehehe). I think it's some of the best work on setting and mood that I've done - like I did a bunch of research and actually put that to the page ajdjjjg. Really proud of it even 3 years down the line!!
Flights of Angels - Elisabeth - rated M (references sex), Rudolf x Tod, post-canon, angst with a happy ending, character growth, historical references and commentary, 12 chapters / 20k
My todolf divorce fanfic xD Exploring the deep implications of the common trope of human-to-Todesengel; Tod backstory and worldbuilding, esp referencing the human-metaphor dichotomy inherent in Máté's portrayal; character growth and character development for Rudolf. Yeah I wax poetic but this is actually mostly an exploration of how Máté!Tod and Lukas!Rudolf (because they are very specific portrayals!!!!) could make a long-term relationship work. There are Implications to it. Also, Mizzi Kaspar appears!!!
Vögelein - Elisabeth - rated M (but one chapter might as well be E), Rudolf x Tod, lesbian todolf, 5+1, historical commentary and references, 6 chapters / 7.2k
Lesbian todolf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's literally just "what if Rudolf was born a girl" (and Stéphanie a boy) and goes from there - ie. we end up in the Belgian court which comes with extremely unfortunate implications in the late 19th century. Also Tod is a woman (hehe lyrics reference) because I don't stand for heterosexuality sorry AHSHFHGH. Rudolf also keeps all his (= her) unsavoury historical womanizing because it's so integral to the character, in my opinion. I'm really proud of this >:]
Soft Like Summer Rain - Endeavour - rated M (but one chapter might as well be E), Morse x Jakes / Jakes x Hope / Morse x Jakes x Hope, mutual pining, 21 chapters / 51.6k
My longest fic to date!! I wrote it when I was 18 fun fact: largely in class too xD so some parts I can't bear to reread because I'm afraid I'll find lots of melodrama ahdjg, but it's one of a kind and I'm so proud of what it represents!! Plot: what if Morse visited Jakes over the summer after S3 and things kinda went from there. I can't believe Jakes asking him to come to the US with him actually became canon in S9, 4 years after this fic was published,, half-convinced Russ Lewis reads my fanfic...
Midnight Man - Elisabeth - rated E, Rudolf x Tod, modern AU, yeah um it's a one-shot that's rated E and only 2k words long you can do the math about what happens in it...
My first todolf fanfic xD Lawyer Rudolf. There's an entire unpublished modern AU universe based on this but it's more fun to think about than it necessarily is to write out, especially since the fun parts are just Tod forcibly inserting himself into Rudolf's life as common-law boyfriend/roommate (depression metaphor!!1) and getting up to shenanigans. I don't really have interesting things to say re: it being a modern AU, which makes it harder to write. I've worked on a ballet AU behind the scenes for like 2 years adjhfjjg which is a modern AU that takes the metaphors a lot further... but I haven't managed to write it because I'm not entirely sure how I'll approach it, especially the Tod characterisation in that. But I've done so much research that hopefully I will write something in that universe eventually...
Thank you again for sending this, it was so much fun to look back on what I've written!! >:]

Exploring S.T.E.M
By Dale V. Aldea (Grade 11-Perfection)
As a senior high school student, you've probably heard the term "STEM" being talked around countless times. Maybe you have heard that this strand is for students who wants to be a Doctor, an Engineer, even a Software Genius! But what exactly is STEM? Is it just more than just a senior high school strand? In this blog, we'll dive into the fascinating world of the STEM strand.
S.T.E.M and its origins
Tumblr media
STEM is one of many strands you can take up in Senior High School. It stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The S.T.E.M acronym was first introduced in 2001 by a a group of scientific administrators at the U.S. National Science Foundation (Hallinen, 2023). The organization previously used the acronym SMET when referring to the career fields in those disciplines or a curriculum that integrated knowledge and skills from those fields but was later changed to STEM and since then, STEM-focused curriculum has been extended to many countries like the United States, Australia, China, France, South Korea, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and was later introduced here in the Philippines by the K-12 program.
Decoding the Acronym
Tumblr media
S.T.E.M - SCIENCE Science is all about understanding the natural world, from the smallest particles to the vastness of the space. It involves asking questions, making hypotheses, conducting experiments, and analyzing data to discover the basic principles that govern the universe. If you aim to take science related courses or medicine in college, well you're in luck because this strand offers primary education for the said courses.
Tumblr media
S.T.E.M - TECHNOLOGY
Technology is everything from smartphones and laptops to life-saving medical devices and cutting-edge space exploration equipment. It's the practical application of scientific knowledge to create tools, systems, and solutions that make our lives more efficient, convenient, and safe. If you're interested in software development, computer engineering, or even app designs in college, this strand is for you.
Tumblr media
S.T.E.M - ENGINEERING
Engineering is the art of using scientific and technical knowledge and using it to design and make solutions. From bridges and skyscrapers to renewable energy systems and electric cars, engineers turn ideas into real, functional realities. The field of engineering is big, with specialties like civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and aerospace engineering, to name just a few. Well in this strand you can learn the basics of those courses to prepare yourselves in college.
Tumblr media
S.T.E.M - MATHEMATICS
Mathematics serves as the language of STEM. It is the foundation upon which all the other subjects are based. Our high school math classes help us develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and logical reasoning qualities that are highly sought after in any profession. Whether you are planning on taking a career directly related to mathematics or use it as a tool to excel in another S.T.E.M field, its importance cannot be overstated.
Is STEM important?
Tumblr media
The S.T.E.M strand in senior high school very important for students like me. The strand prepares students who are planning on taking on courses that are related to science, technology things, engineering, architecture and many more. The strand also focuses on enhancing the students problem-solving skills, critical thinking and creativity. This is a big help, giving us students a big boost in knowledge in the fields of science and math for college.
So keep this in mind, STEM isn't just a some random acronym made for Senior High School, it is a gateway of understanding the world around us. The strand equips students with knowledge and curiosity for the fields in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, creating a path for a bright future. STEM is more than just a strand, it is a journey of discovery and learning to limitless possibilities.

House Ofthalmós also has slightly pointed ears (more similar to what you'd expect on a demon or a vampire rather than long like an elf) which Anastasios has inherited as well.
Personality: Anastasios is a very upright and protective person. He'll do whatever it takes to protect the other members of House Ofthalmós as he sees them as reliant on him since he'll be the next patriarch. He pressures himself to make the best decisions possible for the happiness of the family and wants to do what he can to make the house a less caste-like environment. Outside of his role as young patriarch, however, he can be very cocky and condescending. He's known for having the kind of tongue that can be both as smooth as silver or as dangerous as thorns depending on the situation, and he's never the one to throw the first punch (but he is always the last.) Despite this, he does have a semblance of a normal teenage boy beneath his maturity and confidence, but he's only willing to show that to the people he feels close enough to open up to.
Backstory:
Anastasios was born the grandson to House Ofthalmós Patriarch. As soon as he was born, he was identified by the family god to be the reincarnation of their progenitor. This was later proven as, even for the Ofthalmós who learn quickly, he immediately knew his letters, numbers, how to read, and basic math. THe memories, however, didn't come until later, and he didn't realize what Celia calling him 'Esaias' meant until the old memories started to integrate themselves. Sometimes he'd find himself looking for someone who wasn't there or responding in a barbed manner that he hadn't meant to say. He eventually realized that this was because of memories that he hadn't obtained in this life, and he spent a great deal of time trying to separate 'Anastasios' from 'Esaias'. His memory finally started to stabilize when he reached 12, and he finally managed to figure out who he wanted 'Anastasios' to be. And that wasn't Esaias. The Esaias of his memories was a toxic, broken man who couldn't even properly care for the people he loved. Anastasios wanted to be more than that, and he rejected his identity as Esaias in order to do so, even going so far as to get angry and reject Celia when she would call him by his old name. He began taking on work from his grandfather as is became more clear that he would likely be the new patriarch, and by the age of 14, he was performing many of the duties and even had authority to act as the Patriarch's proxy. However, as he prefers to do many things that he could delegate himself, he wound up being the one to investigate the disappearance of one of his distant cousins, Calypso, which is when he met Hikaze, the reincarnation of Esaias' best friend and work partner, Kazuya.
Abilities:
Sight: Anastasios can See what the House calls 'The Ultra-Reality', the true nature of all things, and can interpret it far better than his predecessor due to cognitive training. He can detect health problems, understand intent, and even interpret emotions through the Ultra-Reality, amongst many other things.
Prophetic Dreams: Anastasios can see the Past, Present, and Future when he sleeps, however what he sees is usually determined by his surroundings and visions of the Past and Present are usually of ‘secrets’ of the darker variety. Dreams of the Future are often cryptic and more symbolic than literal in nature, and thus require research upon waking.
Weapon Proficiency: Anastasios is trained to handle a variety of weapons from daggers to pole-arms to swords. His preference is for daggers, but he can get by with just about anything. While his Sight can supplement some ability, he would still lose in a fight with someone who makes fighting their livelihood, however.
Self-Defense: Anastasios is proficient in self-defense techniques and excels in hand-to-hand combat. His methods attack the vitals directly and, due to his smaller stature, focus more on using the enemy's momentum against them rather than brute strength.

I love the fact that even the people the system is supposedly for - the academics, the ultra-studious, the researchers - also suffer in the end.
I was at one point the highest attaining student in my entire high school. I took 12 GCSEs (you only technically need about 4 most people take 8 or 9), and by the end, learned almost every subject basically cover-to-cover, so much so that I had many a lesson where I just did my own thing because they had nothing left to teach me.
I learned a lot from that. Yes the content of the courses, but moreso life-lessons.
1 - The system is 'designed' for nobody. Those who lag behind, fall behind, are left behind. Those who push ahead, are literally stopped from doing so.
Don't believe me? Here's an example:
I've always been interested in maths. I love complicated mathematical concepts. I love the beauty that emerges from such simple rules. So it follows that I spent basically my entire school career waiting for the curriculum to catch up with what I found exciting. I remember being thrilled at the end of primary school that we were "finally" doing a bit of algebra.
But yet again, by year 11, at the tail end of the GCSE course, I was done. I mean this with full honesty when I say I could get full marks on GCSE maths papers in my fucking sleep. I did it. I finished the course. There was genuinely nothing more to do.
So my teacher let me study higher level stuff. At that time I was planning to do A-level maths so I started working my way through that. Differentials, integrals, complex trigonometry, interesting stuff to my little school brain.
One day the head of maths, accompanied by some sort of important school governor person, walks in and sees me doing differentiation. Flash forward a week, banned. I was banned from STUDYING. MATHS. IN A MATHS CLASS. I was required to do GCSE level work, even though there wasn't any left.
Thankfully, my teacher was like 'wtf no' and sneakily gave me more interesting stuff to do, but that taught me something. The system is genuinely not built to handle exceptional students. It's not built to push people, to challenge them where they are LITERALLY ASKING TO BE CHALLENGED. Nope, it's all standardised. Your passions? Standardised. Your hopes? Not according to data in a spreadsheet. Your life? Don't even think about it.
And that's not me being hyperbolic or edgy. I was not living.
2 - making school your life is fucking. Dreadful.
But it's all I'd ever known. I was always a goodie-two-shoes-teachers-pet-whatever (and kind of still am ngl). But that attitude did such serious damage to me in the long run. It drove me away from others my age, away from socialising, away from dumb fun. I was a serious person who took everything seriously 100% of the time. And so, those were my friends too. The people who's entire life was based on huge ambitions, and numbers on a page at the end of an exam season.
You wanna know how many times I hung out with my high-school friends, outside of school? You wanna take a guess?
0. Zero times. I basically only had a social life at all after one of my not-school friends forced me to download snapchat lmao
Sometimes I feel like I barely had a teenage-hood. I was so strict, so laser-focused that I maybe lost sight of what the fuck I was doing it all for in the first place?
3 - You will work yourself to death for numbers on a page. It will not feel good at the end.
I don't even think I need to explain this one.
Our exam season was split into two halves, with a week's break in the middle. It's supposed to be a break. It's also supposed to be a chance to study, revise, and get ready for the last, grueling weeks of exams.
Given the fact that 'break' and 'study' are kiiind of contradictory, you can probably guess that I actually did neither of those. I just crashed. Fell into a slump and crashed.
And yeah, sure, I picked myself up by my bootstraps and got right back to work at the end of that week. But I don't really consider the stress of failure beating the stress of exhaustion as a huge win if I'm honest.
So, where does that leave us?
Right now, tired. Tired as fuck. I look back on a decade-long life of schooling and education and I don't know who I really am or wanna be.
I bought into the system so hard. I threw myself in and literally came out on top. And I don't even know if it was worth it lmao.
To be fair, there are other things at play. Probably an anxiety disorder, depressive tendencies, and being a young trans girl in an "all-boys" high school is not exactly a recipe for a healthy young person lol
But I can't help but think if it had just been a little less strict, a little less enabling of all those fears and anxieties, a little less focused on achievement over experience, I might have a little bit of better relationshio with myself.
But, oh well. What's a girl to do but build a life for herself. I'll get there. One day at a time. And when I look back on myself as I am today, hopefully, I'll be proud as fuck of the girl who worked her ass off for herself.
A Twitter Thread from David Bowles:
[Text transcript at the end of the screenshots]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'll let you in on a secret. I have a doctorate in education, but the field’s basically just a 100 years old. We don’t really know what we’re doing. Our scholarly understanding of how learning happens is like astronomy 2000 years ago.
Most classroom practice is astrology.
Before the late 19th century, no human society had ever attempted to formally educate the entire populace. It was either aristocracy, meritocracy, or a blend. And always male.
We’re still smack-dab in the middle of the largest experiment on children ever done.
Most teachers perpetuate the “banking” model (Freire) used on them by their teachers, who likewise inherited it from theirs, etc.
Thus the elite “Lyceum” style of instruction continues even though it’s ineffectual with most kids.
What’s worse, the key strategies we’ve discovered, driven by cognitive science & child psychology, are quite regularly dismissed by pencil-pushing, test-driven administrators. Much like Trump ignores science, the majority of principals & superintendents I’ve known flout research.
Some definitions:
Banking model --> kids are like piggy banks: empty till you fill them with knowledge that you're the expert in.
Lyceum --> originally Aristotle's school, where the sons of land-owning citizens learned through lectures and research.
Things we (scholars) DO know:
-Homework doesn't really help, especially younger kids.
-Students don't learn a thing from testing. Most teachers don't either (it's supposed to help them tweak instruction, but that rarely happens).
-Spending too much time on weak subjects HURTS.
Do you want kids to learn? Here's something we've discovered: kids learn things that matter to them, either because the knowledge and skills are "cool," or because .... they give the kids tools to liberate themselves and their communities.
Maintaining the status quo? Nope.
Kids are acutely aware of injustice and by nature rebellious against the systems of authority that keep autonomy away from them.
If you're perpetuating those systems, teachers, you've already freaking lost.
They won't be learning much from you. Except what not to become. Sure, you can wear them down. That's what happened to most of you, isn't it? You saw the hideous flaw in the world and wanted to heal it. But year after numbing year, they made you learn their dogma by rote.
And now many of you are breaking the souls of children, too.
For what?
It's all smoke and mirrors. All the carefully crafted objectives, units and exams.
WE. DON'T. KNOW. HOW. PEOPLE. LEARN.
We barely understand the physical mechanisms behind MEMORY. But we DO know kids aren't empty piggy banks. They are BRIMMING with thought.
The last and most disgusting reality? The thing I hear in classroom after freaking classroom?
Education is all about capitalism.
"You need to learn these skills to get a good job." To be a good laborer. To help the wealthy generate more wealth, while you get scraps.
THAT is why modern education is a failure.
Its basic premise is monstrous.
"Why should I learn to read, Dr. Bowles?"
Because reading is magical. It makes life worth living. And being able to read, you can decode the strategies of your oppressors & stop them w/ their own words.

Kindergarten Book Market: Trends, Drivers, and Outlook
Market Size & Growth
The global kindergarten-book market was estimated at around US $798.65 million in 2024, and is projected to reach about US $1.19 billion by 2034, growing at a CAGR of 4.1% from 2024 to 2034 .
Other data confirm rising demand for educational books aimed at young learners, driven by parental focus on early literacy and interactive learning systems .

What this means: While methodologies differ, the market for printed and digital preschool‑age books is clearly growing steadily. Demand is driven by early‑education priorities, technological innovation, and expanding formats.
Key Market Drivers
Rising Focus on Early Childhood Education Parents and educators are increasingly aware that developmental milestones in literacy and numeracy begin in preschool. Kindergarten-level books—whether picture books, phonics readers, or thematic series—support cognitive and language skills in kids aged 3–6.
Digital Transformation & Hybrid Formats Physical books remain core, but e-books, interactive app‑based storybooks, and blended formatsare expanding. AI‑driven personalization, STEM concepts, AR experiences, and subscription models are gaining traction.
STEM, Diversity & Inclusivity Content Early‑age books featuring STEM concepts, multicultural characters, bilingual text, and inclusive plots are fueling new interest—reflecting broader educational and social trends.
Distribution Channels Evolving While brick‑and‑mortar bookstores and school suppliers remain integral, online platforms and subscription boxesare capturing share. They offer convenience, choice, and purchase flexibility.
Market Segmentation
By Format
Physical Books: Dominant share, ranging from storybooks to workbooks.
E‑Books/Interactive: Rising, especially via educational apps and story portals.
By Sales Channel
Offline: Bookstores, school and educational outlets, libraries.
Online: E‑commerce and direct-to-consumer; subscription models are growing in early‑education circles.
By Region
North America & Europe: Mature markets with high digital adoption & strong early-education budgets.
Asia‑Pacific: Fastest-growing region, driven by urbanization, rising incomes, and proactive educational investment.
Latin America, MEA: Slower adoption but rising interest with expanding urban middle class.
Trends & Innovations
Subscription & Box Models Companies are testing monthly-send kits of physical or digital books tailored to a child’s age/interest. This encourages recurring revenue and long-term engagement.
Interactive & AI-Enhanced Features AR storytelling, adaptive quizzes, and read-along audio are enhancing engagement. AI tools also help personalize content and support literacy progression.
Bias-Free, Inclusive Content Publishers now create books with diverse characters, all-gender representation, disability inclusion, and multilingual elements—responding to modern cultural values.
STEM & Early-Math Concepts Number books, simple coding concepts, and problem-solving storylines are now geared to kindergarteners and preschoolers to foster early STEM thinking.
Key Players in the Market
Major publishers include:
Immedium, Flashlight Press, Lee and Low Books, Kids Can Press, Holiday House, Arbordale, Hogs Back Books, Cardinal Rule, David Fickling, Albert Whitman, Pratham Books, Candlewick, Charlesbridge, Little Tiger, Flying Eye, Peachtree, Sleeping Bear, Top That, Scholastic, Usborne.
These companies are investing in:
Digital and print hybrid offerings
Diversified genre selection
Global distribution strategies
Sector Outlook
Growth ahead: With a projected CAGR of 4–6%, the kindergarten book segment is outperforming general children’s book growth (≈4.95% CAGR for ages 3–12).
Market expansion: Asia-Pacific stands out: urban parents, rising income levels, and intensive preschool education create a strong tailwind.
Tech integration: AI personalization, AR readers, and gamified learning are not yet mainstream but gaining ground quickly.
Environmental trend: Reusable, sustainable printing and recycling programs are emerging, echoing broader consumer preferences.
Challenges & Risks
Digital piracy & copyright protection: As the e-book share grows, piracy becomes a concern. Publishers must invest in DRM and rights policing.
Content saturation: With tens of thousands of titles available, standout, diverse content and brand trust are key.
Logistics: For physical books, print-on-demand and local distribution help optimize inventory and reduce delivery delays.
Affordability: In developing regions, cost constraints challenge higher-margin models—necessitating budget or localized editions.
What This Means for Publishers & Brands
Invest in Innovation: Technology integration—AR, AI-driven personalization, gamification—can deliver higher perceived value and drive retention.
Embrace Representation: Reflecting diversity in stories and characters connects with modern consumer expectations, opening new audiences.
Strengthen Digital Sales & Subscriptions: A robust online presence, bundled offers, and recurring delivery models boost revenue and loyalty.
Focus Regionally: Tailored approaches for Asia Pacific, North America, and Latin America are essential. Local language editions, pricing models, and partnerships matter.
Coordinate Print + Digital: Hybrid packages (book + digital companion) create higher margin opportunities and enhance learning value.
Conclusion
The kindergarten book market continues to grow steadily—from under $1 billion today to over $1.2 billion by 2034—driven by early literacy trends, interactive formats, and shifting parental behaviors. While physical books remain foundational, digital innovations, inclusion, and regional nuance define the path forward. Publishers and ed‑tech players that blend technology, content quality, inclusive storytelling, and smart distribution are well-positioned to thrive in this evolving space.

Making Math Fun: The Power of Maths Games For Kids
In an era of rapid digitalization, the tools we use to educate our children have evolved just as quickly. Gone are the days when math was taught through repetitive worksheets and monotonous drills. Today, maths games for kids are transforming early education by blending entertainment and learning into a seamless experience. These interactive tools don’t just keep kids engaged—they also significantly improve learning outcomes.
Why Kids Struggle With Traditional Math Methods
For many children, math is often seen as the most challenging subject. According to a study by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), over 60% of fourth-grade students in the U.S. scored below the proficient level in mathematics. This disconnect stems largely from teaching methods that lack personalization and fail to capture attention.
Enter maths games for kids—an exciting alternative designed to change that narrative.
What Are Maths Games For Kids?
Maths games for kids are educational tools that combine arithmetic, logic, and problem-solving skills with play-based learning. These games can range from basic number recognition activities for toddlers to more complex geometry and algebra challenges for older children.
Whether they’re mobile apps, board games, or online platforms, maths games are designed to:
Increase engagement and attention spans
Promote self-paced learning
Foster critical thinking and strategic planning
Make abstract concepts more concrete through visual aids and interactivity
The Science Behind Game-Based Learning
The educational effectiveness of games is supported by neuroscience. When kids play games, dopamine is released in the brain, enhancing mood and motivation. Dopamine also helps with memory retention, making it easier for children to recall what they’ve learned.
According to a 2023 study by the Journal of Educational Psychology, children who engaged in math games at least three times per week scored 23% higher in standardized math tests than those who did not. Clearly, maths games for kids are more than just fun—they’re functional.
Real-Life Example: A School’s Journey With Math Gaming
In 2022, the Oakland Valley Elementary School piloted a new math gaming program for second and third graders using app-based learning platforms. After six months, the school reported:
A 38% improvement in arithmetic fluency
45% higher engagement rates compared to traditional classes
A significant drop in math-related anxiety, especially among students with learning difficulties
Parents also noted improved confidence in their children's problem-solving skills. This real-life use case proves that the integration of maths games for kids can be a game-changer in both classroom and home settings.
Popular Types of Maths Games for Different Age Groups
Here’s a look at the types of maths games for kids that are best suited for different developmental stages:
Ages 3–5: Pre-K and Kindergarten
Number Matching: Teaches basic counting and number recognition
Shape Sorters: Helps with geometry and spatial understanding
Simple Puzzles: Encourages logic and sequencing
Ages 6–8: Early Elementary
Time and Money Games: Teaches real-life math skills
Addition & Subtraction Challenges: Improves arithmetic fluency
Math Bingo: Combines luck and knowledge for a fun classroom activity
Ages 9–12: Late Elementary
Multiplication Battles: Makes times tables engaging
Fraction Quizzes: Teaches parts of a whole through visual elements
Algebra Apps: Introduces variables in a simple, gamified format
Each type of game aligns with a different educational goal and developmental stage, ensuring maximum impact.
Why Parents and Educators Love Maths Games
Both parents and teachers are recognizing the advantages of integrating maths games for kids into learning routines. Here’s why:
Easy to Access: Many math games are available as mobile apps or online platforms.
Instant Feedback: Games often provide real-time corrections and rewards.
Customization: Levels can be adjusted according to the child’s pace.
Collaborative Play: Some games encourage teamwork and peer learning.
Moreover, the gamification of math also builds perseverance. When kids fail a level, they’re more likely to try again, learning from their mistakes—a crucial mindset for math success.
Choosing the Right Platform: Why Edugamingappworld Stands Out
When it comes to selecting reliable platforms for maths games for kids, one name consistently rises above the rest: Edugamingappworld.
