Can we talk about the “Sanji talks about the All Blue” scene in the Live Action

because it’s so underrated

and I think it’s not talked or appreciated enough.

I know people have some issues in the way that the Live Action did not do the way anime/manga did with these scenes. Nevertheless, I love it!

One of the benefits of the Live Action is HINDSIGHT. The showrunners and the writers already know what’s gonna happen in the next arcs, what the characters are gonna go through in the future, and what is yet to be revealed.

So they have the benefit and the ability to “plant some seeds” and foreshadow events or reveals in some of the dialogues and scenes very early in the story.

One of those “seeds” can be found in the “Sanji talks about the All Blue” scene. Imperatively, Taz Skylar’s acting choices and micro expressions are spectacular since they are very well thought out, especially in how he expressed some of the dialogue as it hints that there is more layers to the character.

NOTE: For those who are very new to One Piece and for those who have not reached Zou or Whole Cake Island Arcs yet, I will be vague and try not to spoil much. But these two arcs reveal ALOT about Sanji's past and childhood. Whole Cake Island arc, especially, is a very intense and heavily emotional arc for Sanji. Let's just say, in simple terms, that Sanji has been through ALOT before he met Zeff and that past has impacted him immensely.

BUT if they ever mention Germa or anything Germa related or hints at Sanji's past in Season 2, I will go ballistic and would not stop talking about it lmao

It’s not shown the clip above but Live Action Sanji does say to Luffy:

“Sometimes when I try to look ahead, all I see is back.”

And he says this while playing with his lighter.

The first time I watched this part, I immediately noticed how he emphasized the word “back.”

At first I thought nothing of it but rewatching it again and keeping WCI in mind, it sounded like there’s a bit of melancholy and hint of rancor in the way he says that word.

For someone who has only watched the live action, and has not consumed the anime or manga, they might think nothing of that line of dialogue and would think that it just means that Sanji is holding himself back.

BUT for someone who knows about what is revealed in Zou and what happened in the Whole Cake Island arc, this line of dialogue is so interesting especially given the context of Sanji’s “other” backstory.

Like what do you mean by this Sanji?!

This very simple dialogue might have more layers and can mean a lot of things imo. He might not only be talking about holding himself back and feeling “stuck” but he also might be thinking about his time and experience back in Germa. It might mean that he feels “stuck” in a lot of ways, not just physically. I think about that line of dialogue way too much lmao.

Nevertheless, it just makes me think a lot of things and some implications, including his time in Germa and how that has affected him and his mindset.

I’m not really certain that the writers intended for this one sentence to have a double meaning or something. But Taz’s choice in how to say this line and emphasizing certain words is definitely interesting. Also, I want to share that Taz does know about Sanji’s “other” backstory and past since he vaguely mentions it in an interview that I will link below in the Spoiler Section of this post.

Now, in the scene where he actually talks about the All Blue:

I have rewatched this scene so many times, and everytime I grow more appreciative of Taz’s acting choices, micro expressions, and how he says his lines.

There is both an excited but somber tone in the way Taz delivers his speech about the All Blue and I think it’s fantastic.

He starts lighting his cigarette and nonchalantly introduces to Luffy about the All Blue. But then he says “…where you can find ingredients from all for seas, East Blue, West Blue, North and South, they call it the All Blue.”

Notice how he quickly mentions the “North” blue.

Ngl I almost thought he didn’t mention the North at all the first time I watched this scene because of how he quickly mentions it, as if he doesn’t want to outright say the word “North.”

But then notice how he says “they call it the All Blue” and the rest of his lines about this paradise. He gets a bit giddy about it but he can’t help it and just smiles as he continues to talk.

But then he slows down and sombers a bit when he says “It is a cook’s paradise and…I’m gonna find it one day.” Notice how he tries to downplay his excitement about the All Blue as if he is mindful of being mocked that it doesn’t exist as some chefs or colleagues have done so in the past.

There’s also this very slight hesitation when he says “…I’m gonna find it one day.” It’s like he wants and hopes to find the All Blue, he longs for it, but is very conscious of his own circumstances in Baratie and with Zeff.

Also the music/soundtrack used in this scene is amazing and so underrated. I love how it’s starts with this wonder and mystical tone, as if conveying Sanji’s feelings about the All Blue, and then the slow jazz Sanji theme song kicks in and it’s just *chefs kiss. I probably listen to this soundtrack twice a week lol

Anyways, I just wanted to talk and share about my love of this scene, the dialogue, and Taz’s acting because I just adore all these elements in this scene. I feel like it isn’t talked enough.

Ngl I am pretty excited for season 2, mainly because I want to know and see, if and, how they are gonna “plant some seeds” and foreshadow other events and figure out what arcs they have chosen to foreshadow or hint at.

This post getting so long but I just want to share more thoughts.

In 13 February 2025, Taz Skylar did an interview to promote a film called Cleaner. But, of course, the interviewer asked him about One Piece and Taz was able to vaguely and very briefly talk about Sanji’s biological family. It was very brief but still very spoilery because he mentions some stuff about Sanji that are revealed in WCI.

Here’s some Random Thoughts with a bit of Spoiler:

People have made so many posts about the fact that Sanji's origins have been hinted in the anime's VERY early arcs and its mostly through random remarks from Sanji. It’s pretty amazing how these remarks and Sanji’s actions gets full circle once the story reaches WCI, which means that Oda has been planning Sanji's origins and early childhood 10+ years before the actual reveal.

In Season 1 of the Live Action, Sanji mentions the North Blue very quickly. In the anime, Sanji actually reveals that he was born in the North Blue but grew up in the East Blue. And this was revealed in the Jaya arc while the crew talks about Noland's story. But considering that Noland's story was already mentioned in Season 1, he might mention where he was born in Season 2 and present it as a random fact about him.

I am so curious on how the Live Action show runners and writers are gonna foreshadow and hint at Sanji's past in Germa since they have immense amount of info about his past and how that has affected him mentally, spiritually, and physically.

Sanji has such an extensive, well written and very thought out backstory, character arc and development in One Piece. I really hope that the Live Action can deliver on this in terms of writing. I have no doubt on the acting because Season 1 proved to me that Taz is amazing as Sanji.

I’m certain that the Live Action will somehow find a way to foreshadow things about Sanji’s past. However, I’m very uncertain and doubtful that the Live Action will reach WCI arc. This arc in Live Action would be insane actually! Like—

BUT if by some miracle that the Show reaches WCI, I am confident to say that Taz will nail so many scenes!

I have chills just imagining Taz acting out these scenes in Live Action:

(SPOILER WARNING to people who haven't read your story) I SWEAR to GOD!!!! This is borderline anon-hate with my current state of mind after finishing The Raven and The Snake over this weekend. I finished it in two days. I'm a mess. I've even started making a playlist because I feel like I can't properly enter reality again. I'm supposed to be writing my bachelors thesis right now,,,, what have you done to me!!!!

I loved it so so so much, and I am very mad I cannot have a collectors edition hardback version of it on my shelf. There are many many moments that keep replaying in my head, and scenes that I saw so vividly when reading through it. The first imperio moment and Sebs shadow and imperio-green eyes as Clora was held captive, and the entire scene in the repository and how I was physically shaking as I slowly realised that Seb had made a fucking horcrux, and when it was CONFIRMED the GASP i GUSPED. It was so perfect, and so very Sebastian; because OF COURSE he made a horcrux (lowkey hot, sue me).

And the scene where Clive realised Seb straight up just died for his daughter without knowing he would be back, oh my dear lord.

And the idea of Seb being seen as a 'Ruffian' and that little mamas boi bitch of a Henry thinking his hand-me-down-riches, muggle ass would be preferable to a powerful wizard. I secretly wished they didn't have to keep magic a secret so Henry could have known just how inferior he was. AND SEB APPARATING SO FAR UMPH the skilllll.

I could go on and on and on, and maybe I will some other time in your inbox when I have another mental breakdown.

And now I'm also almost done with the small sequel. Just taking a break to bombard you with this unhinged message of mine. And how you draw Sebastian is so fucking good. It's actually what got me reading in the first place. I see your version as being in a completely separate universe from the game, cause the way you draw him just has that something, and it's not the same anywhere else. It certainly doesn't help my obsession that my own boyfriend has the same features and colour palette as him, now I think I might even use your art as inspo for next time we need wardrobe additions.

Hey guys, I just realized that there may be some really big misunderstandings and confusion on my blog that I was too oblivious to notice.

So, this is and was always supposed to be a role-playing blog where I play as a character, not as myself, and I played someone you guys know as Stirling. You thought that was my sona, but no, that's not me. He is supposed to be the protagonist and narrator of my blog and stories which is why he's often used, and when I answer asks, I'm still playing as him.

Ive made many jokes and comments in the past that were supposed to be from Stirling's POV, like it's him talking, and that was pretty much every post.

Im really sorry for all the confusion, but I have never revealed my real name, age, or even gender on here! I feel like it's very necessary to tell you guys all this, because I only now see that I never announced this before

Im not sure why, but I must've gotten too ahead of myself and forgot to make a post that explains my blog, or how it's supposed to work.

This is just to let you guys know, I felt like it was important to talk about. I don't want to feel like I'm lying to people, and it was completely unintentional. It's a weight I need to get off my chest.

I figured out that people really had no idea, and then I was nervous to say anything about it since reactions are unpredictable. Once again, sorry.

A lot of things I've said was not me irl speaking, it was all the narrator Stirling, but I may change that to avoid more confusion in the future? I know that people have been misgendering me because I played as a boy, and they thought it was me. My friends also played into teh roleplay, and really all of us thought the audience knew. (Carol, B.V, etc)

I'm a she/her and still count as a minor.

Now that I've addressed the problem, I hope y'all will just continue to enjoy my blog while keeping the role-playing aspect in your mind.

Don't let this completely fuck things up for you guys, I just had to tell you sooner or later while my audience is still mostly small and humble! Yeah I just made this blog when I was younger and never really organized it well, and it was too late to just restart, and people were already thinking I was a totally different person than who I really am, and my scared ass just started playing along, too nervous to correct it.

Now that I'm older, I'm here to address it before it becomes 'serious' (large audiences)

this is all to say 👀 i really hope the two new drabbles were fun for people.

i was honestly very nervous about the yunho one given the kink direction…. when i was writing it and talking to some friends i definitely got the “oh… you’re writing THAT?? but that’s not hot that’s weird” and i know some people might be of that mindset, but i don’t know. i personally am able to imagine what is hot or a turn on about most kinks? there are only a few that are in my super hard no list that id never write about, but i feel like for most things its easy for me to at least imagine what would be arousing and i’m always surprised when people shut down kinks super hard like that.

this is now a rant i guess but like… feet is a good example of something that i personally don’t like, and honestly feet is kind of an ick of mine and a lot of peoples, but i also get it and wouldn’t make someone feel weird about that. even though it’s one people joke about often… there’s enough shame around sex as it is, i’m not out here to judge or make people feel bad about what they like ever.

i got a lot of requests for this drabble exercise with kinks i haven’t written before, but so many messages were like…. apologizing for even asking or being embarrassed about liking something and i just have to say… not with me friends!! i am kink positive as hell, and even if you hit me with one on my no list, i’d never shame you for it, i’d just not respond to the message or politely decline.

anyways i got a little nervous posting the yunho omorashi fic because i feel like as far as kinks ive posted in fic, that one is out of left field and very new for everyone on my page at least? i found myself like actually stressed about the response (and that’s on that about internalized christian shame about sex and sexuality i guess)

cnc and somno ive done before, but i feel like i amped it up with dialogue this time so i hope that hits too. i just know more people are probably into cnc on this page than piss play…. but hey we are learning and growing lmao

im definitely going to cover some more fringe or hard kinks with some of these requests, so i just hope everyone knows im trying to handle everything respectfully and with care. its a wide range of things i personally find hot or am into and things im not but can understand, so its been a fun little writing challenge.

If HABIT was a protagonist in any of the games or fandoms you liked, how do you think he'd operate? THIS IS A REALLY GOOD ASK ACTUALLY. ive thought about this before, not necessarily with devil may cry, but with other things im into! SOOO with that said, i am going to use this ask as an opportunity to discuss something that was actually a trend on the EverymanHYBRID side of tiktok a few years back. HABIT as Ghostface from the Scream franchise ‼️ does anyone else remember those edits? there used to be so many of those.

(sidenote: this post is focused on Scream 1996 only, none of the others. also i know this ask says PROTAGONIST, but i highly doubt HABIT would inhabit someone like Sidney Prescott 💀 SOOO you get antagonist instead! SORRY I GENUINELY COULDNT THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE TO REPLY TO THIS ASK WITH 💔)

i absolutely adore Scream 1-3, i used to be fixated on the franchise a few years back. i remember rewatching Scream 1 with @vinbitism a couple months ago and it made us think about a crossover. Ethan and i had a whole EverymanHYBRID x Scream au going on for a little while but we didnt do much with it.

the thing is, its hard to figure out which character from Scream HABIT would use as a vessel. most people probably automatically connect him to Billy Loomis, which is understandable and a cool concept, but when discussing this with my friend @rosswired we agreed on someone different. it got brought up how based on behavior and stature, Stu Macher might be a better fit for HABIT. if we were to compare his favorite vessel Evan to Stu and Billy, Evan would have more similarities to Stu than he would have to Billy. Both of them run more on impulse and can act “animalistic” at times. they are seen as careless, and (in my opinion) dont give off the vibes of someone who could be dangerous, which helps HABIT disguise himself amongst others even better.

Stu also has personality traits similar to ones HABIT has, meaning it would be easier for him to adapt and play the role of Stu. this doesnt mean he would necessarily ENJOY using Stu as a vessel though. im sure he would have fun with it, but i dont see him favoring Stu over past vessels. ESPECIALLY Evan.

switching the topic to the Ghostface aspect of everything, i think HABIT would have fun playing that role too, but the thing with HABIT is he likes his name to be known. i do not think he would enjoy being viewed as “Ghostface” for long. while Billy and Stu didnt reveal themselves right away and even used a voice changer to disguise their voices, i cant see HABIT really liking that game. he wants people to be aware of his presence, but he does like to hide behind the persona of his vessel to lure people to him. after that though, he makes sure his victim knows its him doing everything. not his vessel. him and only him.

now a few last things i want to mention before ending this post are:

- i think HABIT would find the main weapon choice, a Buck 120 hunting knife, boring. He would switch it out for something more his style like a machete of some sort. this isnt me saying he wouldnt enjoy using the Buck 120, i just feel like he would prefer something else. something bigger and more threatening.

- HABIT prefers to work alone when it comes to killing, (besides having someone hold a camera for him) so due to that i dont see him having a Billy and Stu type of relationship with anybody.

- his kills would be more brutal and he would take more time with them, unless the victims were people he didnt really view as important.

ANYWAYS im not sure how i feel about this post. i fear it kinda sucks. other posts hopefully coming soon though ‼️ i miss being the HABIT account 😞 i have REALLY got to lock back in.

hmm thats a tough one. im not really much for researching though i do make it a point to be realistic if the fic calls for it (my recent fic here for reference (remind me to edit this with a link when it comes out)) but this one comes from my own intimate knowledge of the university i went to which was equally yet distinctly fun to write too

strangers to lovers and friends to lovers/already lovers are both very cool flavors to add to fics for different reasons, but the connection you make in the fic itself, whether looking back or forging anew is something that shows the writer's skill and something u should definitely look out for when reading our other very lovely writers :nise:

i think we pave our own way was one of the funnest fics for me, and the word count limit really forced me to get creative with how i set the world up. fantastical settings need a lot in the background to work, but for how 우린 길을 만들어 came out i love it even if im the only one :sitt:

the crux here is just to flesh out someone else's ideas with my own personal twist, and more often than not anons will have a more concrete or specific vision (not that i would know. i dont get requests anymore lol) than say the prompts our very lovely writers challenge each other with every once in a while. when we do prompts usually a lot of writers like def mint raf and i go and post them but theres really so many more that other writers keep in the master doc when it comes out! also thanks @woollypoison for hosting hdskfjghdsjkgh sorry we got weird this time around i think

never really tried writing with word. left gdocs a while ago for @ellipsus-writes but as it stands now it's a bit lackluster (small image sizes and lack of a mobile app are bogging it down for me ngl) and im trying out notion for a little bit. ultimately it doesnt matter how fancy your guitar is, just that it has enough for you to be comfortable playing it is good enough :DDDD

... i feel bad for lying to the fans, but what am i supposed to say in a situation like this. 'oh sorry loyal viewers of the y/c/n youtube channel, ive been a bit busy having a child.'

i hadn't told anyone about her, and i wasn't really planning on it until she was old enough to conveniently walk into my recording studio. i made a really bad decision months ago when i decided to fuck a dude i didn't know, but the outcome was truly someone beautiful.

i sighed and decided that i should maybe try get a video out by next week, so i get off my ass and head to my recording room. however, before i do so i go to my own room to check on my little girl.

she's sleeping peacefully in the dimly lit room, nothing but her soft breathing being heard. i smile, not in a million years would i expect this to happen. when i found out i was pregnant i was mortified, i told nobody, i still haven't, what will they think of me if they found out i just fucked a random dude? i'd be slaughtered for sure. however, when i first lay eyes on her, i knew that she deserved all the love in the world, for she was perfect.

instead of staring at my child for the next hour i decide to finally get out of the room and work on the video i promised. it was already recorded, just editing to do, so the fun parts already over with. instead of wearing headphones, i let the sound come straight from my speakers, with my pc turned down extremely low, just to not disturb my daughters slumber.

the videos not too hard to edit, just a gameplay of castle crashers with the sleep deprived gang. the memories of the recording session rushed back as i was editing, a smile was brought to my face.

"go dude get his ass!' i yell into my mic.

'you're fuckin alive too y/n, help me out here!' schlatt responds 'besides, you were all talk earlier, what was that you said 'ougghhh i'm sooo good at castle crashers i finished all of it on the original xbox, you guys wont get any opportunity to shine.'

the rest of the group laugh as schlatt teases. mika ended up getting the final kill on the boss.

'god, you two tease SO much, why dont you two just fuck already?' mika joked. the group laughed once more, however, i was left thinking... is this really what everyone else thinks? do they know im pregnant? oh god...

the video was edited in the span of 3 hours, and with regular checks on the wee doll, everything was going fine.

as soon as i posted, likes and quote retweets were flying in. the people in the replies were ecstatic, and all of the dudes were dropping 'welcome backs :D' in the comments.

however, when i saw the response from schlatt, i swear my smile beamed more.

theres no shortage of conversations, johnathan talks about how him, mika and pandah recently had a massive clear out, and he found an old glow in the dark ring i won for him in an arcade years ago.

i stick my tongue out, preparing to spin a wheel with numerous numbers of points on them. it finally lands on 100 points, which definitely isn't the most but it's not the lowest amount either.

'YOOOOO!' you yell in unison, claiming your points.

as we arrive at the counter, i see this glow in the dark ring and decide 'john will hate me for this'

so i purchased it, and jokingly proposed to johnathan. to my surprise, he said yes, and wore it back to his house, his parents question it, i remember. they've been very keen on johnathan and i getting together, ever since we were younger. too bad my plans changed...

as we both kept reminiscing of the past and our food arrived, everything was going quite well. she was silent for majority of the time schlatt was in my home, which is really lucky.

we would occasionally go silent, and during that time i would scan johnathans face. he'd catch me starting from time, and he'd stare at me with forced wider eyes. we'd laugh at this.

unfortunately the moment was ruined, for a small, frail cry could be heard down the hall. at this moment i could feel my soul leave my body FUCK

"dude..." johnathan begins hesitantly. he looks extremely confused. "you.. you fuckin... child dlc?"

you both laugh at the comment, however he still looks lost. the kids probably best not to be left crying, so i head to the room to bring her down the hall. i come back, and his face shows a bit more understanding.

"woah." he gawks. his head relaxing on his shoulders and his muscles un-tensing. a smile is brought to my face.

at this point the small wails from the girl has stopped, her tiny frame in your arms as you sit down next to johnathan, a little closer than last.

"shes my little dude! sorry i didnt really say anything... i didnt want anyone to know, especially the youtube dudes..." at the end i trail off, thinking how stupid that sounds. these guys are some of my closest friends, why would they judge me for something like this?

one of his arms wrap around my shoulder and the other wraps around the little girl in my arms. theres a tranquil smile on his face, as he looks down at her.

"why'd you think hiding something this cool was good idea, y/n? look at her! she's awesome, i'm sure the dudes will love her!" he laughs. he leans his head against mine, and my face grows warm. "still surprised you 'got some' though, yknow what im sayin?" you can feel a faint smile tug your lips.

schlatts finger runs down the childs arm softly, and ends at her hand. he stopped and stared as her tiny fingers gripped around his finger. truth be told, he was astatic that his long time friend had a child. he was so happy to see his friend happy, and to have her here in his arms, and her daughter made everything better.

he loved you.

he kept staring at the little girl in my arms, his eyes unmoving, but there were another set of eyes that were unmoving.

my eyes kept on schlatts face, a dazed smile plastered on both of our faces. unnoticed, i put my hand over johnathans which rested on my shoulder.

his eyes move to look at mine, a shimmer in his eyes as his pupils grow. i study his face, his pasty physique now grazed with a soft pink, and his lips slightly parted. his eyes seem to be doing the same as yours.

his hands turning around to grasp mine, and just now am i noticing how silent the room is, all that is heard is the breathing from the three of us. a nervous smile once again graces my lips, leaning my back into johnathan a little more.

after a couple of more seconds of decision on wether or not this is what we should be doing, our mouths finally meet.

it was a very quick kiss, but we take no time at all to go back for a second, then a third.

and then a fourth.

once finished, we both smiled and looked down, both of our faces a rose like color. johnathans hands still caught by the girl in my arms, and my own.

"i could get used to this." johnathan says after some time, his head leaning into mine. all three of us falling asleep on one another. i hum in response, with a small chuckle coming through. i turn my head and give him another kiss on the cheek, and as i do it his cheeks turn red again. some of his brown hair falls down closer to his face as he looks at me again, simply to return the favor.

his lips are slightly chapped, but still feel soft and perfect against yours, he parts first, feeling his finger finally being let go. she had fallen asleep.

"my fingers sweaty... euch" he whispers, making a grossed out noise at the end. he leaned back into you. "love you."

i feel hot again.

"love you too johnathan."

Additional shitpost ❤️ the art I've been most proud of are not actually in here, really! I'm mainly proud of the fanart i made for the few smiling critters AU's aaaall the way back feb-march but. I guess the stuff i liked the most i did this year was probably for the one who wilts? Im trying to think of stuff earlier than that. I noticed i definitely had an improvement in art, and i learned i do have a preference of drawing certain ways now too lmao- the fun of art! I hope to improve more in 2025 :-)

I am not a very Secure artist myself (already taking me five minutes to type that out and consider myself as an artist) so im SHOCKED when people Actually like my things. My doodles. Id have to say the same for youtube- im currently at 456 subscribers 🥺❤️ that is huge to me,, i wouldnt have expected me posting for the first time in years on youtube would result to me getting this many subscribers? ? .???

Im very, VERY thankful for the people ive met this year through fandom and generally. Unfortunately—for the past few months—Ive hit a really low stump in my mental health that limits me from talking to people without getting super drained, even on social media i kinda struggle with being active again. I am thankful for the people that continue to stick around and know im the way that i am,, one day ill be mentally stronger and everyone is gonna see my growth as soon as i can ,, Actually leave my own home and hopefully start a new. I didnt really consider that until one of my friends shared its experiences with me and i GENUINELY realized i can run away and get better one day,, there is a light at the end of the tunnel,, there IS,, but not now. Not today. Not in a few months. Itll take me years to heal but 2025 and ongoing years as i get more freedom to do so,,

ASIDE FROM CHEESY RANTING OF HAVING HOPES FOR THE FUTURE, YAPYAPYAP- i got a drawing tablet (again another thing my friend inspired me for- technically two major things in a row it inspired me for- hope in the future and drawing BWAHAHA-) and uhhh. my 2025 goals are not just improvement in art,, but in hopes of getting a full time job (since my last full time UMM. did NOT work out well! How am i gonna learn to pay my taxes on my own dawg,) and trying to get a place of my own since i missed out on that two years ago (or one? One year ago? I DUNNO..!!!!) , therapy and trying to heal better compared to my terrible stumps of 2022-2024,, i dunno what else but. Maybe working on my social skills at some point 🗿🗿 a far fetched goal is moving out of state completely and also going on testosterone but that is farrrr from now </33
