Tfp can be so funny sometimes. Megatron's biggest problem with his team is that everyone (excluding Soundwave and i think Shockwave) sooner or later wants to betray his ass, while Optimus's biggest problem with his team is that every now and then atleast one team member decides that they want to go fuck feral at all costs

Head of House, Pawn on the Board: The Political Burden of Being Snape
Darling, let’s start with the facts—because the facts alone already ache.
Severus Snape joined the Hogwarts staff in 1981. He was twenty-one. Twenty-one. Barely older than the seventh-years he was meant to teach, barely healed from his own battlefield. And what did Dumbledore do? Gave him the dungeons, the potions, the House.
Yes, that house. Slytherin.
At twenty-one, he wasn’t just given a classroom. He was given a throne of serpents—and not the cushioned kind. The students he was meant to lead? Many of them had seen him in uniform. Some had seen him hexed in corridors. Others knew his name from whispers at the dinner table, muttered over silver cutlery and words like “Half-Blood” or “turncoat”—not because they knew for certain, but because Slytherins always knew how to smell weakness, and the scent of divided loyalty lingered long after the war.
Those students weren’t naive. They knew he wasn’t pure-blood. They knew who his friends were. They knew where his loyalties had once lain—and they wondered, daily, if those ties were truly cut.
And Dumbledore—that visionary, that strategist, that benevolent tyrant—looked at all that and said, "Yes, he’ll do."
Darling, shall we take a moment to truly marvel at what it meant to hand the reins of the most politically volatile House in Hogwarts to a half-blood Death Eater—barely out of the shadows?
It meant placing a barely-grown man at the helm of bloodlines that had drawn wands against each other the year before.
It meant asking a Death Eater—yes, that one—to play prefect to the precious heirs of Voldemort’s most devoted inner circle.
It meant wrapping Severus in suspicion like it was bespoke tailoring, then setting him loose to waltz daily across a political minefield in soft-soled boots.
He wasn’t chosen because he was respected. He was chosen because no one else wanted the job—or no one else dared to take it. Because Slytherin wasn’t a House. It was a power bloc. A tangle of old money, old magic, and older grudges.
This wasn’t mentorship. It was surveillance—cleverly disguised as atonement.
Redemption? That was never part of the arrangement. What Dumbledore offered wasn’t forgiveness—it was proximity. Keep him close. Keep him useful. Keep him where the leash could be tightened when needed.
And as if the political minefield weren’t enough, one might think there’d be a handover—there wasn’t. And while it’s not confirmed in canon, there’s a strong likelihood Slughorn simply left Severus to fend for himself. The man had been aching to retire to his crystallised pineapple and comfortable obscurity for years. When he left, he didn’t so much pass the torch as drop it mid-corridor with a distracted wave, probably humming.
No curriculum notes. No lesson continuity. No insight into who had been taught what.
Severus didn’t struggle with teaching—please. He could recite antidote theory in his sleep and still have enough brainpower left to correct your stir counter-clockwise. No, what he struggled with was the wreckage. With clearing out years of soft-spoken favouritism, of talent-spotting over structure, of a syllabus curated more by personal whim than pedagogy. He wasn’t inheriting a programme—he was excavating it.
And picking up where Horace left off? That, my tragic thing, was the real test.
Tumblr media
And darling, we’d be fools to think his authority was ever welcomed.
To some, he was too soft—a half-blood apologist playing at discipline. To others, too severe—a traitor desperate to please his new master.
He couldn’t smile. He couldn’t falter. He couldn’t afford a single mistake.
So he learned to glare instead. He learned to intimidate. He learned to slice words like scalpels and build silence into a fortress.
That wasn’t a natural talent. That was survival.
The punchline, of course?
He did it well.
He survived. He commanded. He protected his House like a shield with no handle—never built to be held, but he held it anyway.
He was twenty-one. And nobody flinched handing him the knives.
Welcome to Hogwarts, Mr Snape. The job description reads: Die standing. Preferably in silence.

Have more of a review now on that stroller we got for Addy!
We took the dogs around the block today & took the stroller to try for part of the distance. Went halfway with Addy walking, then stopped to coax her into it. Didn't take much coaxing! She mostly was just kinda going "but.... why?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She started out standing and uncertain, but not at all panicking or anything. I kept up giving her treats every 5 seconds or so through the top opening. By the time we reached the corner, she was sitting, using the corner & side for support! By the time we got back to our driveway, she actually laid down!!! I actually had to coax her out a bit, she was pretty pleased to be getting hand fed lots of treats just chilling in it. 😂
She seemed pretty comfortable in it as she got used to it - not getting too jolted, it felt sturdy enough that she didn't seem concerned about support.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jack pushed it for the walk & said the stroller moves really well, turns easily, very easy to handle. He was able to lean on it some for support, which helped him out too.
Construction wise, the wheels are really nice & seem pretty tough. I think they'll do okay over grass in one of the parks. Lots of mesh for good air flow, nice big openings on front, back, and top. It's rated for up to 160lbs, Addy is 55-60lbs, but needs the extra space to lay comfortably. I climbed in it a couple times to show Emma 😂, so can confirm sturdiness on weight, I'm 150lbs.
It does have some pockets on the back, but not very big - we're going to add a bag between the pockets & stroller box for a bigger storage spot.
Main complaints so far are the pockets, & the floor of the stroller is very slick material - I'm sure it's easy to clean, but no purchase for Addy. We placed a yoga mat in for that, which seems to work well (going to probably tape it in later).
Tumblr media
We folded it down to place in the back of my car (SUV style), it is definitely a bit wide, but it went in upside down, it was mostly the big back wheels that got in the way. Jack said those can pop off though, if needed. I picked it up to put in, not terrible on weight, just a bit bulky bc I'm small & small arm span.
So far, highly recommended for a big dog!! Really feels like it's worth the money so far, and really looking forward to taking it out to some parks this summer.

Actually, I could SO MUCH about the scene where Wei rescues Suyin from the Earth Empire soldiers.
But honestly one thing that I've been asking myself for a while is: how the fuck did he get over there so quickly?
Like the distance between where Su and the shelter Lin and the twins were in? Wei needed Wing to pull him and Su across like half the distance. But he wouldn't be able to do that to get to Su, not to mention getting past the soldiers locking the way. Like, maybe Lin and Wing could combine bending to launch him further. But if that is the case, I find it interesting that Lin 'self sacrifice' Beifong didn't go instead of him. It could be that Wei insisted, or that there wasn't enough time to argue.
But I also find it interesting how Wei landed, because it kinda seemed like he had come from behind Su, seemingly from the platform Kuvira and Su had fought on.
And honestly, with what little clues to Wei's personality and skillset we got, I don't think its out if the question for him to have noticed Su going after Kuvira and followed. Perhaps to damage the cannon while Kuvira is distracted. But I find it more likely that he went to help with taking out Kuvira, but prioritised saving his mom over finishing the job.

Thoughts about Kaiser and Shidou + potential parallelisms [edited]
Idk this may make sense to me only bUT! I need Shidou's backstory so I can complete the puzzle of all the silly parallelisms between him and Kaiser.
I really feel like Shidou was. Made to feel meaningless, which is why he has the urge to leave a sign of his existence in this world with his "genes". He cannot separate the field from his life, as if football is *all* his life as ever revolved about, or as if he's been using it to survive the world.
And we've seen that Kaiser actually does something similar. He clings to football with claws and fangs because the idea of going back to what it was before nauseates him. Yet he cannot escape his trauma. Kaiser is such a beautifully complex and realistic character. He's been on survival mode for years and hasn't stopped yet.
(And maybe Kaiser will start to finally escape this vicious circle in the next chapters? Just like Shidou has now toned down his impulsivity and can actually play with people without getting red-carded the second someone gets in his way. For example: past sd would've prolly axe-kicked kuni right in the face if he got marked like that.)
I also like how violent both Shidou and Kaiser were once introduced to actual, semi-professional football. Kaiser reacting badly to kidness vs Shidou casually resorting to violence towards anyone who either slightly reacts to him negatively or straight up bores him.
I love how Shidou: If you're chill, I'm chill
vs Kaiser: If you're chill, I'll actually commit manslaught3r
and asdhhshdf Idk if it makes sense but I think they're equally similar and opposites. It's like they're sorta different faces of the same coin.
Another thing they're different on is that Kaiser tends to take things on a personal level vs shidou moving on the second after smt happens.
And. Ugh. They're. So interesing together. I need them to interact more, although they would absolutely despise each other because of how different their philosophy of life is. Like shidou would prolly find kaiser "childish" for not moving on from his trauma vs kaiser would think of shidou as dumb and inferior for his different approach to proving his own existence.
Also this may be the kise brain braining but if Sae managed to train Shidou then no one can stop him from training kaiser as well LMFAOOO that trip to spain will indeed be fun !
EDIT: ALSO!!! the fact they both have this weird ass concept of the "Impossible". Like Kaiser being like "I will overcome the impossible" vs shidou's "Impossible? that's not in my vocabulary".
Also their empathy level is both underground lmfao. Slay, ig.
There may be more but UGH. This is it for now.

So glad I backtracked to do the creche quest. I hadn’t thought a lot about Lae’zel beyond my impression that she was a bit of a cruel tool (in both senses of the word) held together by a rigid adherence to her religious code (which would’ve been fine if not extremely compelling to me, evil women rights etc etc) but then you get to the creche and it’s like oh. I understand you now.
Being taught to slaughter the siblings you grew up with, being told weakness was an offence to your goddess, service to your goddess being the first teaching you ever learn. It’s so damn good.
The way she desperately clings to this idea that it’s all simply a test, but she spills the blood of her kin to protect you like ough. Deep down she already chose, she believed you, before she even knew it herself.

I'm gonna dive deeper into Lilith's aspect as a dark teacher. She'll drag you through Hell to bring you closer to yourself. It's not a punishment if you surrender, but it can feel like it if you fight against it. Her hope, in this case, will be in the hope that she will get you to reach individuation. Once you master yourself, you will have mastered discernment. And once you have mastered discernment, you will be able to face the consequences of your actions head on authentically.
In my studying, I've found that the people who worship her (or deities like her) to describe her as a ruthless teacher that's going to test your resilience. She is said to be a loving mother figure who wants the best for you, but the hurdles she throws at you are some of the hardest tests you will ever face. She's definitely not for the faint of heart.

At this point I'm just fed up with strangers telling me how I should train my dog and whatnot. Had an old man tell me I should use a shocking collar on my dog right before he kicked his intact English Bulldog in the ribs after he kept trying to mount my dog. Bulldog had the nastiest nails I've ever seen on a dog, they curled all the way back under his pads. I wish I was making it up. Man I'm such a bad dog owner for telling this dude I didn't trust my 8 months old to be unleashed by the road. My dog didn't even do anything, he just stood there confused, didn't show any sign of aggression or fear. The stranger shoved a hand on my dog's muzzle and ears to see if he would react and my dog didn't even move like fuck me my dog is so problematic and untrained.

the whole "cats choose their owners" thing is really funny to me because ivy very much did NOT choose me. she was a slightly dim-witted and very rambunctious feral kitten, and that combination led to her getting herself stuck inside an old chipmunk nest halfway down the steep bank of the creek by my parents' house. from there she proceeded to scream her head off until both my mom and i came out to see what on earth was making all that racket, then we excavated her out of that hole like a sad little potato. she was grateful for the rescue, but definitely NOT grateful for the ensuing flea baths and conversion to indoor cat life at my apartment, which she reminds me of regularly. ivy i'm sorry for saving you from an early death due to predation/disease/cars, but can you stop biting me every day of my life please

Everyone who is against child leashes has clearly never had to be the one to supervise and ensure the survival of a child between the ages of 2 to 6. They have no impulse control, can run deceptively fast for having such short legs, are small enough to quickly weave past obstacles, and don't have any concept of their own mortality or danger. The only thing that kept my little brother alive for like 4 years of his life was his backpack leash because he wouldn't hesitate to run into oncoming traffic because there was a leaf in the road he wanted to see.
