₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁ ⟡ . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁ JIRAI ONLINE SAFETY TIPS ₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁ ⟡ . ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
˚₊ the first one that got me to do this entire post: digital footprint IS, in fact, bullshit. however. it is only bullshit if you cannot be googled. the great thing about tumblr is this is a thing by default. as long as you avoid using your full Government Name, say what you like!!
₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁ ⟡ the concern is: if we google (for example) Saki Tenma, do we find Saki's verrrry public Jirai blog? if we do, then so does everyone else. people can and do google you before a job interview, iirc some colleges/universities also do character checks. if Saki is clever, she won't go by her full name, or will go by something else, to avoid her Jirai ventblog ever showing up when they do this! if u have concerns abt what u post online, google both ur blog name and ur irl name and see what comes up - that way u know what to scrub or make private. ₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁ ⟡
˚₊ if you do not want this sort of posting to be traced back to you, which is entirely understandable w/ a community like this, avoid using the same url and name in multiple places. being real: i do not go by callie elsewhere. it's not my name. i just picked it bc it's fun! i have a "healthier" tumblr blog that i'd be more willing to namedrop irl. still embarrassing getting caught at the devil's sacrament, but not end-of-the-world.
˚₊ now, this bit is slightly more specific, however as an adult who had SEVERAL younger friends w/ shitty parents, this one feels like a necessity. your parents may be checking up on what you're doing online. this is not a bad thing if your parents are sane and non abusive. if they ARE, however:
˚₊ you do not have to let them know you're here. there are two specific things i'd do for this. #1: you can just straight up use a private browser, it does not save any history that way. firefox has this as an option by default, iirc, but you can google "[your browser private tab]" and #2: clearing your internet history.
˚₊ the above is a sc of clearing your history on a pc. in this sc you're clearing literally everything. cache and active log ins will likely yeet you from anything you're logged into, and possibly make pages run slower. form, search, browsing and download history is what you need to clear if you're concerned about being Watched. it WILL leave a gap and if you know what you're doing it's noticable, it looks a bit strange - think 2 hrs between opening web pages - but you could reasonably explain that away to someone who doesn't know tech well.
˚₊ be careful browsing on a device or internet that isnt directly yours. schools and workplaces both definitely monitor what you're doing, and tech-savvy parents can do the same.
˚₊ this last one is just a rant about anonymity, ngl. strawpages and anon asks could be anyone. don't give out irl details to them, don't take too much stock in negative things they say. in this space i'd also be VERY hesitant to talk about dark mental health things w/ an anon, too. there are, really, people who get off to certain actions. it's lowkey gross. tumblr now lets you block any anons you get, iirc, and you *should* utilize that! it doesn't stop them from interacting w/ you which is rly dumb but it's always worth blocking ppl who upset you.
˚₊ if you are concerned about keeping your blog/moots/etc long term, it's worth reading tumblr's tos. i'm trying to keep this statement Neutral, bc in the long run i don't care and the vast majority of jiraiblr are ok w/ seeing certain content, it's kinda an expectation. this is not a 'do not post x' rant, this is a 'post x but be prepared for the tos to bite you' thing! unfortunately block don't report is just advice and people likely will still notice concerning posts.

Meetings with a baby - 1
Damian stared down with a dubious look, a frown set on his youthful face. His hand on the front door, looking at the soggy box holding a surprisingly calm baby. It was clothed, thank the heavens, but there were dried tears on the little thing. “Tt.” he clicked, his hands grabbing hold of the young babe.
Speaking of the young babe, it woke up from its slumber, hiccuping and babbling slowly growing with frequency as it realised they were picked up. Twas a funny sight to behold from an outsider’s point of view, a young child– no older than fourteen– holding an equally younger baby in its grasp. Damian held the baby like you would a kitten, his arms holding the baby’s armpits.
“Father would certainly approve,” Damian muttered mindlessly, eyeing the black inky hair and icy blue eyes. Even its tan skin would match some of his siblings, he thought with distaste. He looked down past the baby, wondering if there was a note inside. No, instead of a simple note that would be easy to read, there in the box had a carving name of ‘Danny F.’ in it.
Damian huffed, kicking the box further out the steps and shutting the doors that led inside. Hesitantly, he pulled the young babe closer to his chest, his right hand holding Danny’s head and his left cradling the baby. “You must be mine now, as I found you first.” Damian said, possessiveness leaking through his tone.
The young baby babbled in what appears to be amusement, or happiness, it’s little body squirming and shivering with joy. Damian’s lips pursed, wondering if all baby’s were like this. ‘Hopefully not,’ he demanded. His legs moved on their own up the lavished stairs, following the steps to his bedroom on the second floor. Opening the door was tough, as the babe weighed more than he realised.
Eventually, he closed his bedroom door and settled the baby down on the edge of his king sized bed, the baby wiggling around like a useless worm. Figuring Twas cold, Damian seized a small blanket from when he was a kid and plopped it on top of the baby. Danny made a noise that couldn’t be described, before clutching the blanket in its grasp, almost like laying claim on it.
‘Just like me, I suppose.’ Damian thought amusingly. Before turning himself towards the desk that held his computer. Logging in, he searched on what babies may need, mindlessly scrolling till he found a good enough website to browse. It went on until he heard a cry behind him.
Damian turned head, looking back on his bed. Danny was kicking his feet, his arms shaking wildly. An unsettling aroma hit his nose, making him scrunch his face in disgust.
“Tt.” He grunted, getting up and coming over to the young babe. He probably had to change sheets, he thought, irritated. Holding Danny up like a misbehaving kitten would, he shuffled over to his private bathroom and setted Danny laying down on his bathroom counter.
Danny whined like a puppy though, squirming uncomfortably. “This hurts me more than you, rascal.” Damian muttered under his breath, already wanting to get this over with.
~TIME SKIP~
Damian gagged when he threw the offending piece of diaper into his trash, washing his hands aggressively and spritzing with a freshener spray all over his bathroom, before cleaning up the little babe that was giggling. “Little devil.” Damian clicked his tongue, dressing Danny in one of his clean boxers that held a pad, courtesy of stealing one from Cass’s room.
Setting Danny on his bed once more, clean from stains thankfully, in a sitting position before grabbing an open cup filled halfway with warm milk. Slightly tilting the baby’s head and pressing the cup towards its mouth, he let Danny sip from the cup until the milk was eventually gone.
Damian blinked like a lizard, putting the cup down on his bedside table before changing into night wear. Holding the young babe close to his chest, he pulled his blanket up and made sure to sleep on his back, with the blanket only going up to Danny’s shoulders.
Speaking of Danny, the young babe babbled in content, small hands clutching the shirt Damian wore to sleep. Damian petted the baby’s head, before closing his eyes to fall into, hopefully, a deep slumber.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope y'all enjoyed this little story! I will maybe write more of these that will feature Damian taking care of a baby Danny. Again, sorry if there was any out-of-character moments from Damian.., Bye darlin's, mwah! ( ˘ ³˘)♥︎
Important note for minors about coming out as plural: do not trust conservative parents or caregivers
With the Trump administration returning has come a renewed surge of bigotry around the country. Right wing media is being used to indoctrinate people into a fascist hate cult.
If you are a plural minor considering coming out to parents, think long and hard about if it's safe to do so. As a minor, much of your life is going to be controlled by your parents. If they want to, they can limit social media access and take away your ability to communicate with other systems. They can force you into therapy against your will with the express goal of getting rid of your headmates. Parents even have the right to physically assault you as punishment.
While plurality is not part of the mainstream conversation yet, there is a chance that it will be soon with so much ongoing research into it. Some of which is likely to make mainstream news at some point. And there is a real possibility that when this happens, conservatives who don't know plurality exists today will flip on a dime the moment their media sources decide it's a problem.
Even if plurality doesn't become visible to mainstream conservatives, their minds have been poisoned against enough related phenomena that it can still be extremely dangerous to come out to them. Most conservative Christians believe in a real spiritual warfare, seeing conservative Christians like themselves as warriors against the forces of the devil. If you experience any sort of spiritual plurality, it is very likely that they will see you as being demonically possessed.
And with the rampant transphobia, even if you don't identify as transgender, systems with headmates with different genders from the body's AGAB are likely going to face the same discrimination from them.
You obviously know your parents better than I do. So if you're confident that you'll be safe coming out to them, then go for it!
But otherwise, I think it may be wise to wait a few years until they no longer have power over you. When the worst they could do is cut you out of their lives.
Additionally, it may be wise to take steps to prevent your parents from finding out.
If you think that your parents may look at your social media accounts, have accounts that are only for plural stuff that you only log into in private browsing modes, and don't share these accounts or their passwords with anyone.
Additionally, don't share too much personal information on the internet. Don't give people your real name or your address or anything they can use to find you and out you to your parents.
It has happened in the past that pluralphobic groups have tracked down and contacted the parents of minor systems, whose parents subsequently took away the system's social media access.
Above everything else, be safe!
I believe that the future is plural, but that future is still a ways off. And I want to make sure that young systems growing up today can live to reach that future.
biggest self-care move a young girl can make nowadays is going full offline for a good while. deactivating all social media, limiting messaging apps to emergencies only, limiting browsing and screen time to a minimum, and no selfies. not for a few days or weeks, but months. at least a semester, but a year would be ideal
if this sounds too radical for you, if you cannot imagine a life without logging in every day, without posting, without being seen and heard through the internet, then you are precisely the type of person who needs to be offline the most. because there IS life outside of the internet, and you have the right to experience it
you have the right to be anonymous, to be private, to be free from surveillance and judgement, to be rid of interacting with strangers all day, to think outside of the latest discourse, to speak without following preset formats, to see yourself without the intervention of a camera, to be bored and quiet, to live life without trying to fit it into your screen
it may seem ironic or hypocritical that I am saying this on a social media app, through a smartphone. but not only am I old enough to remember being a kid without an iphone in my hands, I have also gone through the experiment myself. and the only reason why I don't feel oppressed by social media now is because I have turned it off before. it's no longer something I can't imagine my days without: it's an accessory to everything else, and not the other way around
so if you really want to give yourself some love, consider this. it's not gonna be easy, trust me. you're gonna feel withdrawal effects, you're gonna feel like an alien, your friends are probably gonna bother you about it, it is gonna feel a bit like quitting an addiction
but I swear to you, with all my love, you're still going to exist. I think that is, subconsciously, what we tend to fear the most: that if we go offline, we'll be forgotten and invisible. I promise you, this feeling will go away after a while. you will find new distractions, new ideas, new desires, new things to look at, new topics of conversation, new interests
and then, after you have lived life outside of a screen, you can decide whether you even want to go back to it or not. you should give yourself the right to choose ♡
I'm not going to dive into the logs and spill out what they all said about me; in all honesty, I do not care. It's the same shit since 2021, they always yap about the same stuff, going full ableist and accusing me of "bullying" and "gatekeeping" because I blocked certain people 5years ago haha
I did see this message here that made me laugh tho So allow me to lighten up the mood a little bit!
📰 NEWS FLASH - in today's Front Page of Pinky's News ⚡
Elfjpeg has been seen leaving the ship HOURS before it actually hit the iceberg! Deactivating her tumblr account, bsky account, and even removing her NexusMods profile picture! How dramatic 🤫
One might even say that Elfjpeg is -quote-
"a weakling and [buckled] under the pressure"
...and couldn't take accountability for her own actions!
Words directly taken from her co-capitan, Teacupfairy, towards Keysuspect* (Moderator who wanted to step down from the S7 moderating team but was forced to become the owner after Elfjpeg buckled under the pressure and couldn't taking responsibility of her own server) (haha)
And finally, to close today's gazette, I'd like to echo TeacupFairy's words once more
"You, [Dear members of the S7 server] are whole entire pieces of shit. I honestly don't know how you sleep at night or not feel any shame you have to rely [on constantly spying and belittleting everyone else around you] in order to be [relevant]. You are intellectually lazy, you are pathological liars, you are weirdos, you are despicable and most importantly you are [this community's] parasites. You may fool everyone into thinking you're just this [Group of] quirky "girly pop", ["2YK Baddies Mean Girl"] members of the fandom, but you are the BIGGEST conniving and scheming flaming bags of dog feces [this fandom ever had the unpleasure to deal with.]"
⭐ Pinky's Gazette - Bonus ⭐
Because it's Sunday, here's a lil bonus; a non-exhaustive list of all the time Wingdeer and her friends thought they owned "Intellectual Properties" of vanilla assets, 3D models purchasable online, inverted-cross makeup and other fun stuff 🤠 > Album Here "Intellectual Properties" is something both TeacupFairy and Elfjpeg were seen mentioning before as well, both in the Fairium callout doc and in the leaked chatlogs. I never had the occasion to share all of these past-drama screenshots (thanks to everyone who shared them recently or in the past) until now. If you're new to this fandom and are seeing the recent S7 Leaks, just know that this behavior isn't new - people are just tired of it!
In all seriousness, I don't know if the full chatlogs will be made public, but if they do, please be careful while browsing them; they are truly vile and reading it can be upsetting, I wouldn't recommend looking up your names or your friends' in there, or only if you're in the right mindset! In the end, this is all fucking ridiculous and pathetic, coming from an equally ridiculous and pathetic group.
Enough of the "she-said" "he-said", enough of the lies and theories, enough with the insane accusations with no founding - Show proof, show screenshots.
This "sharing private screenshots is bad and makes you just as bad" narrative is only used to protect this type of person. I'm thankfull for whoever leaked their chatlogs and for everyone who spoke up, and will speak up about their past/present behaviors.
Take care of yourselves and don't let these people get comfortable with openly treating other like shit. Keep on calling them out, share your side of the stories.
Fast list for privacy minded people (I lied, it's long):
Change your DNS from the default ISP provisioned one to literally anything else that has decent reputation. CloudFlare is pretty good to bet on, and Firefox has toggles to use it instead of your system DNS. Alternatively if you don't hate Google, they have a DNS that is marginally an improvement from an ISP default but you're certainly being datamined by Big Letters and they are gleefully compliant warrants or not. There are ample public DNS servers out there unlike the next point.
That is fine for general browsing and making it difficult for your ISP to snoop on you, a step further is obfuscating your public IP which makes it difficult for third-parties to track and identify you. VPNs come in here. Free ones ought to be avoided unfortunately in all but the most milquetoast use-cases. Even then they are likely collecting your data so it's best to use a paid service from a well reputed provider that is specifically not based in a 14 Eyes or mandatory logging country. CyberGhostVPN has a lot of literature on this to reference.
Use HTTPS-forcing extensions and avoid HTTP-only websites. This will require all data in transit to be encrypted which makes it impossible for third-parties including your ISP to know exactly what you are doing. Some sites still have HTTP bits on otherwise HTTPS websites, make sure your extension or browser refuses to load these parts without your consent. However be mindful that the server you are talking to obviously will know what data you sent or requested and may or may not store or use it in some way. This info may be available in some privacy statement etc. Assume that your IP, connection details, etc are all logged and act accordingly.
Avoid Tor unless you are especially confident in your understanding. While it isn't 100% confirmed, it's been generally accepted that certain powers have indeed compromised swathes of the Tor network and have the ability to eventually identify you. The naive use of this tool will be more of a hindrance causing false security than it will help you if you are actually needing a list like this.
Likewise, do not assume encryption means anything. Don't buy into anything you don't understand enough to feel confident explaining to someone else. At most, if it isn't a absolute pain in the ass, find a reputable encrypted email provider or learn how to use OpenPGP to encrypt email communications. Side note to OpenPGP, it also is useful as a way to verify your communications are yours and is often used as such in mailing lists or for contributing to open software/validating packages. In a deep fake world this will become more important but isn't quite a privacy matter.
Generally speaking, fancy tools and technologies are worthless if you can't really use them and actually a hindrance to you. If you start with a zero privacy/zero security assumption as default and operate accordingly you'll already be far ahead of the curve with little added complexity or effort. Don't say stupid shit, don't do stupid shit, don't give out stupid shit. Never ever use public or work APs for personal or private browsing, I'd say don't even connect to public wifis at all even. Don't do personal stuff at work either, and try to keep work computers off your private network and personal devices off work networks. Mindset is probably by far more important than any of the other points. Techno neophytes and fetishists will never tell you that most of your privacy and security comes from your brain.
And since it won't let me do it my way.. 0. Security does not mean privacy, nor does privacy mean security. These are two separate goals. This is an important distinction to make.
Leverage Redemption Log: The Card Game Job
Ok, time for the show to try and justify its use of playing-cards in the leader i guess? (still waiting for the timebomb) --- Ah, a beautiful establishing shot of a riverside, then a shot of a toppled tree. Nice to see a place get shown rather then hidden behind infinity-point font.
Kids dad is running out of money for their medication, its gotten to the point they need to sell their truck. (Fuck) kid dies within 1 minute of taking the medicine. --- Look I know this guy is scum, but lets not use the "he's pleading the fifth and listening to his lawyer and therefore must be evil" propaganda bullshit, allright? He's evil because he's holding sick childrens lives hostage, not because he's pleading the fifth.
hedge fund primarily made up of his own money? That sounds like a lie. --- Poor Lucy, Not only did she get fucking kidnapped, not only does she have to watch workplace harassment seminar videos but also IT looked into her browsing history? Poor Lucy.
Coffee and Beignets delivered (place your bets for poison?), button-cam in place.
Suck-up is gonna be the achiles heel. (Suck up is also the true mastermind behind the price-gauging) Breanna is placing office bugs.
Guy got second in a TCG once years ago and is still pissed about it. Initial prediction: Sell him a Black Lotus? --- Back from commercials, Breanna is loredumping. Apparently there is a rare and unique card in the castle somewhere. (no one knows what the finder gets outside the card. Im betting its Willy Wonka rules and the finder gets the company) --- They've taken the bait and now legitimately think the company might be for sale.
redirected his e-mail server. Honestly a lot more we could be doing with that. (you know what happens when a hedgefund CEO type doesnt have access to his own e-mail for a day? What can happen if you can send e-mails from his server in his name? I sure as heck dont know but am afraid of the answer)
Ok, either he is actually selling or we're getting counter-conned. (yeah, number 2 is definitly the real power here. We're scamming the wrong mark) --- and we're doing a national-treasure cluehunt. (its gonna suck, cause all the riddles are gonna be clueless riddles about a fictional cardgame we as an audience cant solve.)
Why the slo-mo on the walkout of the theatre? This scene does not ask for that. --- Sad Breanna is sad that Parker wont accept their help. (Parker is acting a bit OOC here, she knows better then to refuse a booklet of passwords)
Harry is here to unionise the securityguards.
Breanna has bought Parker time by attacking his pride and re-focussing him into "proving himself" by playing the actual game (he knows he cant lie about the riddles) Big Thug is off to find Sophie (dont worry, Elliot is with her)
Elliot is not happy that he's being volunteered for a Joust. (weird, i know he likes horses) --- Cordozar is wearing secret Clark Kent glasses to cheat. (When is team leverage gonna catch on that they're conning the wrong mark) --- And "Rage" has killed Elliot's dragon. Ah the classic "its all part of the show" fightscene. Love myself one of those.
Ok its the lake-pond. Nice little thing with harry signing to take the earbuds out for a private talk. --- "you have to be a killer" breanna says one thing he doesnt like and he imediatly calls for a time-out. Look for anyone who wasnt paying attention, obviously this all ends with Mr. Poet not selling his company because his passion has been re-ignited, and may even end with him getting his castle back. But I just want to note how charming it is to see Sophie con a man, not because she is after anything he owns but because she just needs him to be happy and distracted for a bit. --- What do you mean it took Breanna this long to realise she could hack his glasses/earbud thingy or his assistants cardgame-supercomputer... I guess she is new at this like Harry is so it sort of makes sense for her to miss that... --- Climatic "place to belong" community-speech is a bit on the nose and overdone but its a cliche that is overdone for a reason. (guess what, most cliche's are cliche because they work. saying something is cliche is a statement of fact not an insult)
"guess im not that good", nice line. 8.9/10 --- "lets just say the new owners are happy, and even happier to avoid a class action lawsuit". Game night at the theatre. --- Unfortunately this episode did not assist in justifying the sequel series bond-based trailer.
hey idk if it's a good idea posting ss of the boyboy discord.
can i genuinely just ask why? im gonna be honest ive never used discord in my life so i dont know if there's some etiquette im not familiar with but if you mean the screenshots from like a week ago i legitimately only posted those bc i was browsing the discord to find out whether aleksa said anything else abt the fanfic video situation which i was deeply freaked out abt (he only clarified that he had in fact meant re-enact and not just react to) and while i was scrolling through the ask the boys section i stumbled upon some other things i thought were worth sharing (like the merch update & MAINLY the top/bottom joke that aleksa made). its def not gonna be a regular occurrence in fact i dont think im ever logging back on there bc for some reason discord rly stresses me out lol. i also made sure to post strictly aleksa's replies and no like private conversations between the users of course bc that would be weird but i have just now realized i didnt like blur the usernames of the ppl who asked the questions out of the screenshots bc that genuinely didnt occur to me at the time so if thats the problem im happy to take the posts down i just rly dont know what would be the issue otherwise
#or is it because its like patreon exclusive & you guys dont want the benefits to just be shared w everyone?#i dont think thats what it is bc multiple ppl including me r subscribed to their patreon and have shared clips of the videos#but maybe this is a different matter like im saying im rly just guessing here#asks
What is VPN on iPhone – Complete 2025 Beginner’s Guide
In today’s digital world, privacy and online safety are more important than ever. If you’re an iPhone user, you’ve probably asked yourself, what is VPN on iPhone? This guide will explain everything you need to know in simple, clear language—no tech jargon.
We’ll also tell you how to download and use a VPN with Shadowrocket, the best open-source encryption protocol application for iPhones.
What is VPN on iPhone?
To answer simply: What is VPN on iPhone? It stands for Virtual Private Network. A VPN helps protect your data, keep your identity private, and let you access websites and apps that may be restricted in your country.
When a VPN is turned on, your iPhone connects to a secure server. This hides your real IP address and encrypts everything you do online. It keeps your location and browsing history safe from hackers, trackers, or even your own internet service provider.
Why Should You Use VPN on iPhone?
Many users ask, what is VPN on iPhone and why do I need one? Here are the main reasons:
Security on Public Wi-Fi: VPN keeps your data safe on free networks like in coffee shops or airports.
Online Privacy: It stops websites and apps from tracking your real location and online habits.
Access Blocked Content: VPN lets you watch, download, or visit websites that are blocked in your country.
Safe Transactions: Helps protect your banking, shopping, or sensitive info from being stolen.
Avoid Surveillance: A VPN helps keep your activities private from any third-party monitoring.
These reasons alone make using a VPN on iPhone a smart choice in 2025.
How Does VPN Work on iPhone?
Still asking, what is VPN on iPhone and how does it function? Here’s a basic step-by-step:
You install a VPN app like Shadowrocket on your iPhone.
You connect to one of the app’s secure servers.
The app creates a secure “tunnel” between your device and the internet.
Your data is encrypted and your IP address is hidden.
Websites only see the VPN server location, not your real one.
It works in the background, protecting you while you use your phone as usual.
Everyday Uses of VPN on iPhone
Here are some everyday ways a VPN can help you:
Watch global streaming shows on apps like Netflix or YouTube.
Avoid price tracking by websites when booking flights or hotels.
Log in safely to school or work networks while traveling.
Use messaging apps in countries where they may be restricted.
Hide your real location when browsing websites.
Now you’re beginning to understand how useful and important it is to ask, what is VPN on iPhone.
🔥 STOP Using These Apps: They’re Stealing Your Data! #TikTok Privacy #VPN Warning #Cyber Security #Free VPNs
“Hey Cloveron fam! 📱 You might think your apps are harmless… but what if I told you some of them are secretly harvesting your data right now? 👀 In today’s video, I’m exposing 5 popular apps that you don’t know are quietly stealing your personal info — and what you should be using instead.”
APP number one: TikTok
“Let’s start with the obvious — TikTok. Yes, it's fun. But behind the viral dances and memes, this app has raised serious red flags. Security researchers have found it collects keystroke patterns, location data, device IDs, and can even access your clipboard without you knowing.”
“Are there Alternatives? Yes. Try Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts — it is less aggressive with tracking.”
APP number two: Facebook
“Old but still dangerous — Facebook. Even when you're not using the app, it’s tracking your movements, reading your messages, and profiling your habits to sell your attention to advertisers.”
“Instead? Use MeWe or Mastodon for a more private social experience.”
APP number three: UC Browser
“Shockingly, UC Browser — still popular in some countries — sends your data unencrypted to servers in China. That includes search queries, IMEI numbers, and device location.”
“Drop it immediately. Use Brave or Firefox Focus for private browsing.”
APP number four: CamScanner
“Even productivity apps can betray you. CamScanner was caught with malicious code that could deliver malware. Millions downloaded it before Google flagged it.”
“Try Microsoft Lens or Adobe Scan instead. Safer, cleaner, and trusted.”
APP number five: Free VPN Apps
“VPNs should protect your privacy — but free VPN apps often do the opposite. Many log your browsing activity, and some even sell your bandwidth to third parties.” “Only use trusted options like ProtonVPN, Windscribe, or Mullvad.”
Privacy Software: Protecting Your Digital Identity in the Modern World
In an era of increasing digital surveillance and data breaches, privacy software has become an essential tool for individuals seeking to protect their online information and personal data. This comprehensive guide explores the world of privacy software, its importance, and how it can safeguard your digital presence.
What is Privacy Software?
Privacy software encompasses a range of digital tools designed to protect user data, anonymize online activities, and prevent unauthorized tracking, monitoring, and data collection. These solutions work across various platforms and devices to create a shield around your digital identity.
Types of Privacy Software
1. Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
VPNs are perhaps the most well-known privacy tools. They create an encrypted tunnel for your internet traffic, masking your IP address and making it difficult for third parties to track your online activities. A quality VPN can:
Hide your real location
Protect you on public Wi-Fi networks
Bypass geographical restrictions
Prevent ISPs from monitoring your browsing history
2. Encrypted Messaging Applications
Secure messaging apps ensure that your communications remain private and protected from unauthorized access. These apps use end-to-end encryption, meaning only the sender and recipient can read the messages.
3. Password Managers
These tools help you create and store complex, unique passwords for different accounts, reducing the risk of security breaches. They encrypt your password database and often provide additional security features like two-factor authentication.
4. Anonymous Browsers
Specialized browsers like Tor focus on anonymizing your web browsing, routing your traffic through multiple servers to conceal your identity and location.
Choosing the Right Privacy Software
When selecting privacy tools, consider:
Your specific privacy needs
Budget
Ease of use
Compatibility with your devices
Company reputation
Privacy policy and data logging practices
Top Recommendations
Privacy Software Best Practices
Use multiple privacy tools for comprehensive protection
Regularly update your software
Read privacy policies carefully
Use strong, unique passwords
Enable two-factor authentication
Be mindful of the information you share online
Emerging Trends in Privacy Software
Increased use of AI for threat detection
More comprehensive privacy suites
Enhanced encryption technologies
Greater focus on mobile device protection
Blockchain-based privacy solutions
Conclusion
Privacy software is no longer a luxury but a necessity in our interconnected digital world. By understanding available tools and implementing a multi-layered approach to digital privacy, individuals can significantly reduce their risk of data breaches, tracking, and unauthorized surveillance.
Remember, privacy is a fundamental right. Investing in robust privacy software is an investment in protecting your digital identity and personal information.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need privacy software?
Privacy software protects you from:
Data tracking by corporations
Potential cyber attacks
Unauthorized surveillance
Identity theft
Invasive targeted advertising
Are free privacy tools effective?
While some free tools offer basic protection, paid services typically provide:
More robust encryption
Faster connection speeds
Comprehensive feature sets
Better customer support
No logging of user data
Can privacy software completely protect my online identity?
No single tool can provide 100% protection. Privacy software significantly reduces risks, but users must also:
Practice good digital hygiene
Use strong, unique passwords
Be cautious about sharing personal information
Keep software updated
Use multiple layers of protection
Is using privacy software legal?
In most countries, using privacy software is entirely legal. However, some regions have restrictions:
China heavily regulates VPN usage
Russia requires VPN providers to log user data
Some countries block certain privacy tools
How much does privacy software cost?
Pricing varies widely:
Basic VPN services: $3-$12 per month
Comprehensive privacy suites: $50-$120 annually
Some tools offer free versions with limited features
Does privacy software slow down my internet?
Privacy tools can potentially reduce internet speed due to:
Encryption processes
Routing through additional servers
Distance to VPN servers
However, modern privacy software minimizes performance impact, and the trade-off for enhanced security is often worthwhile.
Undertale Multiverse RP Group Interest Check ™️
A lengthy explanation of what it would be, subject to change if there's enough interest and I encounter snags when (if) I start actually putting shit together,
18+. Adults only, both OOC and IC. - Listen, I don't care what your fictional interests may be, they're yours. But I'm the one that's going to be moderating the Discord and junk, and I'm pretty sure lolisho is against Discord ToS - it's also no bueno in my country. I don't want to deal with (the potential of) it. - I'm not going to enforce some sort of ID check but if people start suspecting you're a kid trying to infiltrate an explicitly-stated adult space, there may be exceptions. If it's found out that you're a minor with zero doubts on the matter you'll just be kicked, blocked, and warned about without preamble. - IC your character can be as much of a blubbery dramatic insufferable manchild as you want them to be, they can be immature, whiny, annoying, whatever. OOC, no. Be a mature human being. That isn't to say you can't be silly, I'm a goofy goober myself, but don't start unneeded drama, don't try to start witch hunts over stupid nothingburgers, etc, etc, yadda, yadda. On that note...
Proship-aligned persons only. Antis will not have a fun time.
The OOC portion would be on a private Discord server whilst the IC portion would be on Wire to allow for a greater separation of IC and OOC. - It would allow the socially anxious or Just Not Up For It Right Now individuals to simply not log into their IC Wire accounts if they don't want to play, without having to tell anyone trying to interact with them "not today sorry." - It would allow for a more 'immersive' experience (or such was my experience with MSN groups ran this way). - Discord would be for ooc chatter, headcanons, character info, squeeing about the blorbos, planning player-driven events or encounters or incidents that need such planning, etc. I'm thinking a channel for introductions where you can state your limits (what you're okay being approached with, what you aren't okay being approached with, etc) and the like. It would allow people who aren't into it that day to join in on IC / OOC game nights, movie nights, or whatever else someone may wish to try dragging others into.
The Wire profile(s) would largely function as your character(s) phone(s). The baseline idea is some idiot has uploaded a self-sustaining form of malware that infects phones through casual browsing and adds each infected phone to each other's friends lists with no care for where they may be in the multiverse and no way to un-add those friends. Sure, your character could just get a new phone or something, but for the sake of the group thing it just keeps happening. - IC Face-to-Face interactions can be planned over these messages or your character can just pop in on those they know or whatever. The separation should be obvious considering the next point, a - IC texting absolutely does not have to adhere to grammar, capitalization, spelling, whatever. Your character can be as shitty a typist as you want them to be / as shitty a typist as they are ICly. IC Face-to-Face, however, should be structured like the typical roleplay fare ("Hey," blorbo said, "Catch me outside, how about that."). - Mysteriously finding strangers in their phone contacts will give your character an easy way to approach characters they don't know by simply asking "who dis" or some variant thereof.
Things will happen whether your character is online or not, and these things may or may not effect your character down the line. The idea is for the roleplay portion to be a Persistent World-type of thing. One day OOC is one day IC with exceptions for AUs where time functions differently. - Things your character does may have player-driven consequences (ie. your character making an enemy of another character might make you an enemy of their friends, too; attacking them may end up with their friends coming after your character; etc).
I'm thinking initially people will be allowed three characters. - Wire allows you to use multiple accounts at one time. You can also just log into whomever you're feeling that day. - Non-established AU characters are most certainly allowed, as are OCs made for the Undertale setting. - There will only be one instance of established/popular AU characters (ie. one Fell Sans, one Ink, one bluh bluh bluh) allowed in the group roster. If it's taken, it's taken. Variants (ie. Ink Sans, Pale Ink Sans) are obviously treated as separate characters. I'll have to make a list of characters whom are taken (as well as requested) that will be available on Tumblr and whatever other sites I might utilize to advertise the group. - Wires and Discords would not, however, be publicized! If accepted you'd be invited into the Discord, and there'd be a channel where people can drop their Wires.
I won't be accepting people with blank Tumblrs in effort to avoid antis and kids trying to sneak in using throw-away accounts. If something looks sussy I may also err on the side of caution. If you don't have an age or generalized category (ie. "I'm an adult") in your bio you'll be turned away. Sorry not sorry. - The only exception will be if you have someone who can vouch for you.
