it is so, so, so funny to interact with people that don't super know embroidery, who try to pick out which of my projects is more... skilled? or whatever. one time i had someone tell me to my face that my linework wasn't impressive and anyone could do backstitches, and they had learned how to backstitch last week so they could say this. someone else I've been teaching how to sew here and there told me that some patches I made recently and haven't put on this blog yet were true skill and above their skill level - they wanted to start with something easy! like massive block lettering on a stretchy tshirt!

went to the monterey bay aquarium today (ily monterey bay aquarium). i got to see the beautiful beautiful mola mola which i have missed since the last one left and also the into the deep exhibit which was so good, and i tried to take pictures of my fish with the real-life fish but mostly it was too dark

fun fact about me! i am one of those bitches who has had a wedding pinterest board since they were 10 years old and i also work for a wedding planner. so. not only have i already designed zelink wedding outfits but i also designed their engagement ring and i know exactly how the entire thing goes from proposal to reception. lmao

love everything about this, the vague quality of the top which is answered by the skirt, the way the iron throne is just thrown on there, the way that this skirt would never ever fit as intended it is so so stupid

messy, off kilter, clearly executed by someone who can’t draw and has shaky hands and a patience problem, embroidery gives the piece a homemade charm. it’s also an ode to the beauty that can be made by simple human hands in a horrible reality where the cheapest embroidery machines are 500 dollar bucks. i am okay.

more withdrawn book adventures!!!

i could not BELIEVE i got these for $2. they arent getting taken out anymore and haven't been touched in months compared to the other copies in other libraries so theyre being replaced with other new books! and sold! not featured is a book of 31 beanies and slouch hat patterns that the head librarian was about to put in the withdrawn pile before handing to me because im a regular and he knows i, my mother and my aunt and grandma knit and that it would find a good home with me which is what he wants!!! such a good day!!!
