The one thing that bothers me with the whole “Aemond was bullied by the Strong Boys” bs is that fact that his no.1 bully was AEGON not his nephews.

You can throughout 1x06 that Jace and Luke are following Aegon’s lead, even when Jace is commanding his dragon he looks to Aegon for encouragement first. So if Aegon says “let’s play a prank on my brother!” obviously J&L are going to go along.

Here’s the thing, if Aegon turned around and said “let’s play a prank on Luke!” Jace would refuse, Rhaenyra’s boys stick together no matter what. Aemond was an easy target because his brother didn’t care for him the way Jace did for his.

Luke wasn’t Aemond’s bully or tormentor, that was all Aegon and we see this in S2 as well.

PRECISELY. You can tell in s1e6 that the Velaryon boys actually do like the targtowers and it makes sense why they would! They're like the cool older cousin that you always wanted to hang out with, it makes sense that they might want to impress Aegon. I highly doubt J&L would come up with that on their own, and idk...it feels like a 15 year old boy would be able to get his hands on a pig easier than a 7 year old. Yeah, Rhaenyra's boys thought it was funny! But I highly doubt they did it with intention to hurt Aemond and I highly doubt they did it without encouragement from Aegon.

After presenting the pig, Rhaenyra's boys just laugh and that's all. Aegon oinks in Aemond's face and says "mount her carefully", which clearly indicates to me that Aegon took the lead on this whole thing. Even Alicent says she believes that it was probably Aegon's doing. She says "do you think Rhaenyra's sons will be your playthings forever?" That line indicates she thought it was in fact Aegon who used them as scape goats. And in s2, when Aegon catches Aemond in the brothel he barks in Aemond's face a makes fun of him in a very similar way, the behavior has not changed, which makes it very clear that Aegon was the main bully! Luke did nothing but follow Aegon's instructions. Luke was not the bully or tormenter at all, but the greenies refuse to see this so whatever. (Also again, if you're 14 getting bullied by a 6-7 year old, at some point that's your own fault)

Also please remember that Aemond and Luke spent so much time away from each other. The pig incident is literally the third to last time L&A see each other before Aemond kills him. And idk, I feel like it's reasonable to expect Aemond to not go killing children as revenge for something they did in self defense at the age of 6-7. Maybe Aemond is not a poor traumatized uwu baby, but a violent asshole.

The fact that they deleted Jace kissing Baela’s cheeks pisses me awf. Like we can’t even get that? They are teenagers in love, only feel safe to truly confide in one another and they have never kissed once? They’ve known each other and have lived together since they were kids. They really expect us to believe that they haven’t even shared a chaste peck? They don’t even hug and barely have screentime together.

I mentioned the kiss scene here a while back but it’s still true. season two legitimately feels like filler outside of the rooks rest episode. and for a season that feels like filler, the writers are certainly focusing on the WRONG things to fill the time. the fact that alicent has more screentime than all of teamb and teamg kids… a season meant to be about the children yet all of them are given scraps. criston cole has more screentime than teamb kids! this alone tells me the writers aren’t serious about developing jacaela.

i had to suffer three consecutive episodes of baela not saying anything. rhaena doesn’t show or say much of anything (and it’s growing clear her storyline has now been swapped for nettles). jace clearly has grievances but the writers don’t follow through with them. baela is supposed to be his betrothed! its implied through harry and bethany’s body language that they talk about the dragonseeds… but would it kill ryan and sara to have scenes of jacaela actually talking? scenes where they aren’t constantly playing cheerleader for rhaenyra? scenes about grappling with rhaenys dying? daemon leaving? how they feel about rhaena not being with them? luke being mentioned in a way that shows how they BOTH loved him instead of luke being treated like a cautionary tale all season? moondancer and vermax scenes? even their handholding scenes are blurry and zoomed out, and all they do is hold hands lmao?? and it kills me because it’s not like they’re being completely ignored, their scenes just tend to either be short, a little one sided (as in jace seems to be the primary focus), or subtle.

i personally think the writers are gonna rush a lot of things when it comes to them in season three before you know what happens. like how before luke died we got those last minute scenes with him and rhaenyra. season two would have been the perfect time to truly develop jacaela, but the writers just didn’t go for it. it’s like they have difficulty writing meaningful dynamics lol. i personally also think the writers just don’t care enough about baela (and rhaena) to even develop their surrounding relationships… but i won’t get too much into that.

They're also opposites in the way that Aemond wears an eyepatch all the time while Lucerys only wears his eyepatch when he's flying. Aemond was taught to be ashamed and cover his eye while Lucerys was taught to be proud and embrace the stares.

Lucerys wears an emerald eye when they return to the Red Keep to remind everyone that it was a Hightower that took his eye. A Hightower Queen Consort that can't seem to decide between staring at Lucerys or looking away. The whispers in court shift against the Greens when faced with the damage the Queen caused to the realm's lovely Lucerys.

Son for a son would’ve been Aemond (him especially since he actually killed lucerys.), Aegon,or Daeron not Alicent’s six year old GRANDSON.

Hi bestie :)✨ I’m always here to rant why B&C is completely unjustified and an unforgivable crime under any circumstances. If Daemon really wanted Lucerys avenged he would’ve gone after Aemond, but didn’t bc Aemond can actually defend himself. If he wanted peace, taking Jaehaerys as a hostage would’ve easily made the Targtowers surrender and even hand over Aemond. Damn, even take Aegon if you’re in the mood. But he didn’t because he wanted his rival’s heir killed and to escalate conflict. Chaos is a ladder I guess.

Aegon had nothing to do with Lucerys’ death and Jaehaerys was completely innocent from any of his uncle’s feuds. Killing civilians is a crime, but a toddler? In front of his mother, grandmother and siblings? In the (presumed) safety of his home? That’s very different from killing a teenage messenger who was actively contributing in war and disabled his killer years before.
